Summary: Your father, the king of the merfolk, has forbid you to come in contact with the humans. But as you see a ship with humans in need of help, you forget his rule and try to help. Unfortunately, you put yourself in danger and got saved by a beautiful human boy. Since the moment you lied your eyes on him, things have changed.

People were falling into the cold and dark water. The screams and the shutter of the sinking ship were heard everywhere. You couldn’t stand it, you wanted it all to stop, you wanted her to stop it. Your fin tried to flip as fast as you could to stop Siren from killing everyone you love.

// Minutes earlier

As you stood in front of Amanda you noticed a faint sound coming from the sea down. It was familiar to your ears, but your brain didn't find the last piece of the puzzle, that would give the answer on who this noise belongs to. You were tired, exhausted and in pain, your whole body was aching and you felt how weak you got with any second, but why? Why is this happening to you? You couldn't find the answer to this question. Not only that you were in pain, you couldn't understand why Amanda brought you here.

She was standing in front of you, her beautiful long dress swaying in the faint wind and her beautiful hair embracing her small face, which was frowned in a angry expression. “Did you understand?”

You looked up, into her eyes, that were glimmering in the moonlight. Slowly your ears started to give up on you and a loud noise growled in them. “I-I don't understand. Amanda, just let’s go back… it’s cold.” Just as you wanted to stand up from your position and just as soon as Amanda opened her mouth, a tentacle creeped from the water, it shot up as fast as a bullet and made its way to the both of you.

The tentacle slung around Amanda’s firm body, who stood frozen, her eyes wide open in shock. As the tentacle dragged her to the water, she let out a scream. With the last strength you got in your bones you tried to hold the tentacle, but it slipped through your arms until Amanda’s body collided with yours. You saw the pure horror on the girl’s face, she was crying for help. “Y-y/n.. HELP!” But then Amanda fell down the cliff, her screams drowned in the pitch black sea.

You sat there in shock and couldn't understand what was happening, crawling up to the cliff you looked down to see if there was any sight of Amanda. Not even two second passed and you got pulled away.

“Y/n what happened?” It was Taehyung holding you safely in his strong arms, he was panting and sweating, probably from running up here. “Who screamed? What happened here? Why aren’t you talking to me?”

It felt like you were in a void, everything felt surreal. Your voice was struck in your throat, so you just simply pointed to the cliff, his eyes followed your hand and Taehyung slowly raised up to see what there was, but your hands held him down and you shook your head. The poor boy didn't understand, but as you said Amanda’s name and the word ‘tentacle’ over and over again it hit him.

You could see on Taehyung face that he was fighting with himself and in fact he was. Not only that you got sick, because he didn't gave you your stone back, also Amanda might die in the cold water, if no one goes down and helps her. He was shifting with you in his arms, taking your hands in his huge palm you noticed that he was shaking. “Listen�� I uhh… “, he couldn't find the right words, the immense pressure coming from your sickness and Amanda made his brain frozen. “Oh god, y/n whatever happens, please never forget that you will be in my heart.” He said and reached into his pocket to and put something in your hands.

The shape of the cold stone felt oh-so familiar in your hands, unfolding them you saw it. Your stone. It was right here in your hands, it felt like you were dreaming. You looked up to Taehyung who stood up with you in bridal style. “You have no time.” He said. “You have to go.” He said. “I am sorry.” Is what he said last.

It was hard for the young man to let go of someone he loved with all his heart, he was really fighting with himself, but there was no other way. You needed to be saved. That’s why he went to a spot where he could drop you into the water and be yourself again. Before he did, you looked into his eyes for one last time and noticed the many tears coming from him.

Pictures flashed in front of your eyes from meeting Taehyung for the first time on his ship, him walking with you in his castle, him showing you the many things, his face, his big smile, the way he looked at you, when you met him in his garden, where he protected you from the sun, his smile while the two of you danced together. You realized how happy you were with him, how important he got to you. A warm feeling creeped through your body only to be killed with a piercing pain of another realization. Is this the goodbye?

Your body hit the cold water and darkness surrounded you. It was a strange feeling to be in the water again and you tried to swim up, but your legs weren’t working like you wanted, it felt like they were glued together. You looked down to search for your legs only to find your tail growing back. You turned back into a mermaid, finally after weeks. Euphoria hit you. Being able to swim around and breathe under water like in the old days is something you missed a lot. You got rid of your dress and swam around to search for Amanda. With the strength growing back you wasted no time, since you learned that humans can die underwater.

You swam as fast as you could, but there was no sight of Amanda. “Where could she be..?” You murmured to yourself.

Taehyung was still sitting on the spot where he dropped you. He was waiting for you to come out of the water, he wanted to make sure that you were okay. He also waited if you came back to him, he hoped that you came back to him, he hoped that these feelings he felt for you were mutual but there was no sight of you. Staring at the water, he realized that you won't comeback since you are back where you belong, the thing you craved for yo long. He felt heartbroken that he will never see your smiling face when you learned something new and hear your sweet, honey-like voice ever again, that he won't be able to walk the path of life with you hand in hand. A sigh escaped his mouth and he made his way back to the castle only to hear screams and the sounds of canons coming from the direction. “What the hell is happening?”

You searched for Amanda everywhere but you weren't able to find her. Swimming in circles you grew anxious and decided to swim back to Taehyung. He is her fiancé after all, you knew he deserved to know that you couldn't save her, you had to tell him that. But as you came back, he left. There was no one on the cliff. “Taehyung!” You called out in hope that he would hear you and come back. “Taehyung?” You tried again. “Taehyung?!” And again. “T-tae-?” Your voice cracked, an emptiness washing over you. He left, he left you. He really left you as soon as you got back. Maybe he went to search for Amanda, but you wanted him to come back, you wanted him to be with you. You stared up at the cliff, moving back and forth and try to search for any sight, but no, no one there. The tears formed in your eyes and a faint sob escaped your mouth. “So… this is really a goodbye?” You said to yourself. “I couldn't even say thank you!” You cried out loud.

“He doesn't deserve you.” Said a male voice behind you. Turning around you saw Hobi behind you, with a frown.

“Hobi- omg!” Your arms flew around his neck as you took him in a big hug and cried on his shoulder. “Y-you are alive! Hobi!” You sobbed and he put his arms around you as well.

“Yeah… I missed you.” Whispered Hobi in your ear. The two of you stayed like this for a few minutes, happy that you have each other again. “Let’s go back home, your Family waits for you.” He took your hand in his, you took one last look at Taehyung’s castle and saw something strange coming from it. You remembered that the same strange thing, looking like clouds was once in Jin’s kitchen. He told you that this happens if something was burning and that it was called ‘smoke’.

“Wait… .” You said, but Hobi didn’t listen and pulled you with him. “Hobi I said wait!”

“Why?! Why do you want to go back?” You were surprised by his outburst, it was like Hobi wasn't himself. “They deserve this!” You tilted your head a bit, confused at his words.

“What are you talking about?”

“As I said, they deserve this for what they did to you!” You turned around to check on what was happening at Taehyung's castle, but let out a shriek at the sight. The sea witch was attacking his castle, it was destroyed, a lot of smoke flying up into the sky and many ships attacked the witch. You wanted to help them, swim there and save Taehyung and his family, Namjoon, Jin and Patricia. All your friends were in danger and you had to do something. But Hobi wasn't having it, he told you that you can not do anything and that they all should die. The sea witch was doing you a favor after all. These were his words.

“You are not Hobi…” you answered him and tried to get out of his grip, which only grew stronger and stronger with each attempt. You started to scream at him, that he should let you go until the point where your first met his jaw. Hobi was surprised and let your hand slip out of his and you swam away as fast as you could.

Finally arriving at the scene you were shocked by the situation. The sea witch attacked everyone and everything that came in her way and it was safe to say that you were scared for not only your life but also for everyone else living here.

Taehyung tried everything in his power to protect his people. He was standing on a ship and swam to the witch and attack her back but he had to watch how she was destroying one ship after another.

“We are losing!” Screamed Jungkook from behind him.

“No! I won't let this happen! Not again!” Taehyung promised himself, years ago, that he will take revenge of this monster for taking his mother away, for ripping his and his family's world apart. Amanda was long forgotten, though he felt guilty, because she was Jimin’s sister, who was still searching for her but neither does he know where she is. He just hopes that you, his beloved little mermaid is safe, with your family.  “Everyone to the canons!” He screamed signaling his men to get ready. He watched how everyone hurried to the canons and waited for them to be ready, his sight went from his men to the ugly monster that was destroying the castle. The ugly face with the bloodshot eyes, the loud screeching screams coming from her, the many tentacles. He felt nothing else but pure hate for this thing and wished to kill it with his bare hands. He waited one more moment and then “Shoot!” Signaling his men to attack the witch.

You watched in horror how the people fought against the witch and protected the last pieces of their home. You knew that you had to help them, but you didn't know how. What could you do? What were you able to do? For god’s sake, these humans are your friends who you loved so much, this was the home of the man, that you learned to love with your whole heart, you had to do something. Without any plan you swam to the sea witch, avoiding rocks and tentacles.

“Hey, you ugly monster!” You screamed to get her attention but she didn't hear you over her rage. Somehow you had to get her attention all to yourself, but how? Looking around you saw a piece of wood swimming around, it probably belonged to a ship that got attacked by the sea witch. You took the wood and hit one of the tentacle with all your force again and again until she turned around, confused on what was hitting her. The sea witch started to laugh as she saw you hitting this big monster with a small piece of wood.

“Little princess, do you really think that you can stop me with that?” She laughed again and slung her tentacle over your body and brought you to her face. Compared to her you were as big as a mouse, wiggling before her face. “Hmm… I didn't know that this would be so easy to get you. Jeez you are so stupid… .” She sighed dramatically and started to laugh about her own words, her breath hitting you and made you sick of the smell of rotten fish. How could something disgusting like her exist in such a beautiful world like yours?

At first Taehyung and his men thought that their canons stopped the sea witch, that they actually brought some damage and could win against her but her laughing made them skeptical. The sea witch was talking to someone, laughing and moving around a lot and stopped the attacking. With one turn around it was revealed to Taehyung who she was talking to. If Jungkook and few of his man didn't hold him back, he would have been already in the water and tried to save you from the witch. “Y/n! Y/n!” He screamed your name in fear that you will get killed like his mother, that your life get erased. It was a mess. Many people died or were injured, one ship after another sank and the castle got destroyed and now, you were in danger.

“Ohh…” cooed the sea witch at Taehyung. “Is the little prince scared that I will kill his cute little friend. Are you scared for her?” You called out for Taehyung. “How cute, but now you can watch how I-”

“Siren! Let my daughter go!” A strong and full voice interrupted the sea witches speech, which angered her completely. She turned to the ocean side, away from Taehyung's castle with you in her strong grip, making breathing a hard thing for you.

“Who dares to interrupt me?” A little bit of hope build up in your stomach as you saw the figure of your father and mother alongside many soldiers of their kingdom. You gasped at the sight of your family and tears of happiness mixed with sadness filled in your eyes, you were feared that they’ll get hurt. “Oh, look at that. My deare sister Diana with her love of the life, King Neptune. Are you here to watch the funeral of your youngest daughter? Right timing, because I was about to start.” The sea witch’s grip started to squeeze you in her grip and you could feel your bones cracking. The pain was unbearable and you could do nothing but scream and cry in pain. It was the worst nightmare for Taehyung to hear your screams, he wanted to save you from her, but in this moment he felt so weak and could do nothing. But also everyone else who was watching the scene, Jungkook’s whos anger build up, Patricia who was crying in Namjoon’s arms , who had to watch the entire scene in a save place with Jin and the king and many others. Everyone was scared for their lives, but now they were even more scared for you. The sweet and curious girl, who came out of nowhere and made their life a little bit more colorful in her own way.

But also your parents were in shock and felt powerless seeing their daughter in pain and hearing the painful screams. “Please Siren! Let her go, she never did any harm to you!” Your mother cried out, “please! I beg you!”

“Years ago,” started Siren, the sea Witch, “ I also begged you. I begged you to not take away the last happiness I had. But look where it brought me, dear sister.” Siren raised you a little more into the air to make sure that everyone could see you. “And now, this is the price you have to pay!” She wanted to squeeze you to death, to pop you like a tomato, she wanted to see blood but the only blood that was seen was her own. Taehyung shot a cannonball at the tentacle that was golding you and successfully hit her. Seconds later a second canon ball hit her, ripping her tentacle of her body. Your screams stopped abruptly as you dropped into the ocean unconscious. Taehyung jumped into the water right after you.

Siren was panting in pain, her blood staining the water in a black color. She grew angry and wanted to kill the one who injured her, but she didn't got far because King Neptune attacked her with his trident, he was attacking her with shock waves. The screams coming from her made the ground and water shake. Jungkook ordered the men on the ship and other ships to swim away and to evacuate the whole town as well as his father and many servants, he wanted to make sure that no one gets hurt by the witch.

Seconds passed and the witch let out a growl out, it was roaring around the village like a thunder setting the people in panic. Siren was angrier as before and everyone there could have sworn that she grew even bigger. With a chuckle escaping her mouth she attacked your parents. She hit the water, were your parents were with her tentacles and laughing hysterically. The soldiers tried everything to protect the king and the queen from the attacks, but King Neptune got hit several times. He froze on his spot due to the immense pain and his trident slipped out of his hands and fall down to the ground of the ocean.

“How is that, bastards?!”
