ASUS have so far examined OLED gaming displays with the well-known 16:9 aspect ratio. However, are aware that a lot of gamers yearn for the unmatched immersion that comes with an ultra-wide screen.
For your consideration, offer three ROG OLED ultrawide alternatives. First up is the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, which is the largest of the three. Two distinct 27-inch 16:9 1440p displays provide the same desktop real space as this gaming giant’s curved 49-inch monitor with a 5120×1440 resolution.
ASUS install a vivid, bright QD-OLED screen in this display. ASUS equipped this monitor with a significant cooling solution to assist guarantee a long product lifespan, reduce the possibility of burn-in, and enable the ROG Swift PG49WCD to produce stunning highlights. Two parts of any OLED display are principally in charge of producing heat. The mainboard, which handles all display signals, comes first. This board doesn’t require a loud, annoying fan to stay cool with a sizable and effective custom heatsink. Heat from the OLED screen itself is efficiently and softly dissipated by a graphene sheet behind the panel.
The ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM are two ROG OLED gaming monitors that go all out for the curve with gorgeous 800R curvatures, while the PG49WCD delivers a comparatively mild 1800R curvature. The 34-inch third-generation OLED display of the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM provides 30% brighter images than its predecessor and reduces color fading for text that is clear and readable.
The ROG Swift OLED PG39WCDM gives you 32% extra real estate if you have a little more room. The bigger 39-inch panel enhances its 800R curvature even further. When you sit 80 cm away from the display, every pixel, including those at the panel’s far borders, is equally spaced from your eyes. You may see bright, crisp images on the full display as a result.
This OLED curved gaming display provides you with a sharply defined glimpse into virtual worlds with its 3440×1440 resolution. With its fluid 240Hz refresh rate and ultra-low 0.03ms reaction time, it combines that level of detail with superior clarity and control in fast-paced games. The icing on the cake? a brilliant peak brightness of 1300 nit for amazing HDR effects.
The best large ROG OLED monitors for cross-platform gamers
Many gamers today are platform-independent. You may like certain games on your gaming PC but others on your Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch. You may own the best portable PC gaming device, the ROG Ally, but you want to connect it to a bigger screen at home to play multiplayer games at an entertainment center.
An HDMI 2.1 port is a crucial feature for cross-platform gamers. Higher resolutions, higher 120Hz refresh rates at current resolutions, and several desirable features including variable refresh rates and automated low-latency mode for gaming devices are made possible by this protocol, which enables larger data rates over the HDMI cable.
The ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ is one ROG OLED display that works very well for cross-platform gaming. Its 42-inch panel is unapologetically enormous, providing an immersive experience when you use a console controller while relaxing in your chair. However, it is not too big for when you lean in to use your standard keyboard and mouse to manage your gaming PC. With its HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, it’s primed and ready for both your PC and your preferred console. It combines a 4K resolution with a 138Hz refresh rate (OC) for an outstanding blend of speed and detail.
The ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ can be your ideal entertainment center display if you want an even more immersive experience. You can have the best of both worlds on a single screen by connecting your PC to the DisplayPort 1.4 port and your next-generation console to the HDMI 2.1 port.
Placing this display at the heart of your livestreaming empire is simple with a tripod socket on top of the monitor. With its sRGB mode, you may watch internet videos with precise color reproduction. Additionally, the ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ offers an entertainment experience that is comparable to the level of immersion you would receive in a theater when it comes time to unwind on the sofa with your favorite show or streamers. Are you curious about how the PG48UQ would appear in your gaming area? To see for yourself, visit Instagram on a mobile device and apply Fth augmented reality-powered filter.
The best OLED gaming laptops
After experiencing the benefits of next-generation OLED display technology for your desktop PC gaming setup, you may begin to question whether you can get the same high-end technology on your laptop. The ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 2024 versions both have the first-ever G-SYNC-capable OLED display on a gaming laptop, so the short answer is yes.

While dark mode takes center stage in this update, Google has hinted at future improvements for the mobile app. These include: Revamped Categorization System: A more streamlined and intuitive way to organize and classify your files within Drive, making it easier to find what you need quickly. Enhanced Search Bar: An improved search bar with more powerful filtering and search functionalities, further streamlining file navigation. These upcoming mobile app updates aim to enhance the user experience by simplifying file management and fostering a more organized Drive environment. The Future is Looking Bright (or Rather, Dark) The arrival of dark mode on Google Drive signifies a commitment to a more user-centric approach. While the current iteration offers a single dark theme, it sets a foundation for future customization options. As Google refines Drive, we can expect further improvements, not only in aesthetics with potentially diverse dark theme options but also in file management and accessibility features. This continued evolution will undoubtedly benefit users who rely heavily on Google Drive for document storage and collaboration. FAQs Q: How do I activate dark mode in Google Drive? A: Activating dark mode is simple. Open Google Drive in your web browser, click on the settings gear icon, select "Appearance" from the dropdown menu, and choose "Dark Mode." Q: Why can't I see the dark mode option in my settings yet? A: The rollout of dark mode might take some time. It could be a week or two before the option appears for your account. Q: Does dark mode offer any benefits beyond aesthetics? A: Dark mode can reduce eye strain, especially during extended periods of use. Additionally, for users with OLED screens, dark mode can potentially improve battery life. Q: Are there any plans to allow for more customization of the dark mode theme in Google Drive? A: While the current version offers a single dark theme, there's no official confirmation from Google regarding future customization options. However, considering the user demand for diverse theme options, it's a possibility for future updates.

QD-OLED: what is it and how new Samsung TV technology works
Tumblr media
QD-OLED: what is it and how new Samsung TV technology works
A System that combines the Quantum Dots of the brand's TVs with OLED panels that are a reference from rival LG Samsung and LG are the two main TV brands in the market. Year after year, South Korean companies compete for consumer preference with LCD, LED, OLED, and Quantum Dot (QD) screens. However, a convergence of technologies is about to take place. What happens when OLED displays, whose technology is widely dominated by LG, and Quantum Dot, touted by Samsung as a superior quality option over other alternatives, come together? The result is QD-OLED, a novelty that should appear on the international market in 2022. As with any technology, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. . However, the fusion of these two concepts may be able to deliver displays with more vivid colors, with higher peaks of brightness, and with even more accentuated contrasts. Understanding how this technology works are critical to understanding what the future holds in terms of image quality.
QD Displays: structure and principle of quantum dots
Basically, there are two layers behind QD displays: a quantum dot layer and a blue auto-luminescent layer. Quantum dots are semiconductor crystals that emit their own light and can generate millions of color combinations.
Tumblr media
Composition of a QD OLED screen When there is a combination of a layer of blue light behind it, the quantum dots create richer colors simply by “turning on” and “turning off” individual pixels. Pixels off are much darker than pixels off by blocking incident light, as with LCD TVs, which is why blacks are more intense on OLED screens. The light-blocking technique can also generate leaks, which can be visible even in the NEO QLED line, with the blooming effect being noticeable when very light areas in the foreground overlap dark areas in the background, generating a halo around the object illuminated. Another important factor is that LCD screens need to move the liquid crystal to control the amount of light needed to compose each image and moving the circuit for such action takes time. In QD Display, the circuit is connected to the layer that emits light, so we have faster and smoother images, which allows TVs to deliver shorter response times, which is ideal for action movies and games, for example.
Tumblr media
QD-OLED - what is it and how new Samsung TV technology works - Blue auto luminescence of QD versus liquid crystal panels
Color volume is another differential
In OLED and QD-OLED displays, the colors are more vivid and bright. TVs deliver a volume of color that is less than human beings' ability to see. The promise is that the new technology will deliver up to 80% of the BT2020 standard, while conventional displays are between 60%/75%. The result of this is better color perception, even at peaks of brightness. THE RESULT OF THIS IS BETTER COLOR PERCEPTION, EVEN AT PEAKS OF BRIGHTNESS.Tweet Another problem improved by the technology is the perception of color from different angles. From 60 degrees from the center of the screen, about 40% of the perception of brightness in conventional displays is already lost. In QD-OLED displays this index drops to about 20%. Finally, an anti-glare technology will allow you to place the TV in the center of the room without worrying about daylight reflections.
Tumblr media
QD-OLED - what is it and how new Samsung TV technology works - Reflections on the environment will no longer be a problem
QD Display, QD OLED: OLED screens enter Samsung's portfolio
On a hot site created by Samsung Display to explain the new technology, it is interesting to note that the text does not once mention the term “OLED” – and it is not by chance. For years the company has positioned itself opposite to its rival LG's main product, criticizing even its weaknesses, such as burn-in, but it seems that the game has finally turned around. However, there are some issues for us to consider. There are two business units within Samsung when it comes to displays: Samsung Display, which researches and develops displays not just for the South Korean company's products, but potentially for the market as a whole; and Samsung Visual Display, which manufactures Samsung TVs themselves. Although they are under the same umbrella, they are managed independently – which may explain the “surprise” regarding the use of OLED in the brand's portfolio and the aggressive way in which the hot site exposes the advantages of OLED screens in relation to LCD screens.
Tumblr media
QD-OLED - what is it and how new Samsung TV technology works - Color perceived volume is higher on QD displays At first, the QD screens that will hit the market in 2022 will have 4K resolution – and not 8K as market experts imagined – and will be available in 55 and 65-inch sizes, with a third model coming to market still in 2022 in the format 70 inches. Will the QD-OLED TVs (or just QD Display, as Samsung calls it) represent a leap in quality over the current OLED screens used by LG and SONY and over Samsung's own Neo QLED? The answer to this we will only know in 2022. It is very likely that the announcement of the first devices with these screens will be for the month of January when CES 2022 takes place – an event in which TVs usually have an important highlight.  More in NUpgrade - Windows 11 will be faster! Review of the main criteria for choosing a TV
Tumblr media
The modern TVs are very complicated devices with lots of different technical values. Therefore, the choice of the optimal TV is rather complicated. Severe competition between companies is sometimes accompanied by not very honest marketing and often requires additional clarification.
LCD and LED screens
In fact, the LED screen is an LCD screen with an improved LED backlight that replaces the less efficient fluorescent backlighting. The diode matrix is located either along the edges (Edge LED) or along the back plane (Direct LED) of the screen.
Tumblr media
Each of them has advantages and disadvantages, but, according to experts, Direct LED distributes the glow more evenly. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages, but, according to experts, Direct LED distributes the light emission more evenly. In addition, it provides a higher density of black.
Tumblr media
But today the full-array is considered the best. It's used in models of the upper price segment.
Tumblr media
LED, QLED or OLED
LED TVs can not accurately reproduce black color due to constant backlighting of pixels. The playback of dark scenes on the LED screen is accompanied by gray or purple hues. The invention of OLED screens on organic light-emitting diodes solved this problem. Each such pixel emits light independently of each other. In dark areas, it completely turns off, providing playback completely black. The high price is the main drawback of OLED models. But this factor will decrease as the technology develops. The relatively low image brightness is another feature of this technology. Comparatively inexpensive OLED-panels provide brightness at the level of 700-800 cd / sq m. (As known, 1 cd / sq m = 1 nit). For comparison, the brightness of LED-TVs reaches 1400-1500 cd / sq m. Therefore, their advantages over LED TVs are visualized only at night or in a darkened room. The cost of brighter OLED models (up to 2000 cd / sq m) is very high. Samsung QLED TVs are an improved LED version and compete with OLED TVs from LG companies. Quantum Dot technology, according to the company, expands the depth and improves color rendering. But nanocrystals also do not emit light and require a backlight. In fact, today the market offers OLED and LED TVs. Differences between images on QLED and OLED screens are virtually not perceived visually.
4K resolution
Constant increase in resolution is one of the main trends. Resolution is equal to the number of pixels of the screen and provides image clarity. Accordingly, the image quality depends directly on the number of pixels, i.e. from resolution.
Tumblr media
Full HD is considered standard for LED TVs. This is enough to watch blu-ray movies and digital channels in the HD TV standard. UHD (Ultra HD) or SUHD (Super Ultra-high-definition) resolution is 4 times higher compared to Full HD. SUHD uses Quantum Dot technology, and UHD is based on LED (liquid crystals or light-emitting diodes). But limited offer 4K content inhibits the development of this segment. Today 4K resolution is available only in expensive flagship models. Additionally, UHD provides high quality only on a large enough screen with a diagonal of 55 inches and higher. The distance to the screen also affects the visualization of the playback quality that decreases in direct proportion to the distance. The difference in perception between Full HD and UHD is practically absent at a great distance. But the distance of 32 inches for a TV with a diagonal of 55 inches will be inconvenient for many people. Sometimes little-known brands offer 4K models at very low prices due to savings on matrix and CPU performance. But 4K-content playback by such a TV is often accompanied by poor color rendering quality and regular image hanging due to very long input-lag.
Support for HDR (dynamic range)
As known, HDR technology affects the gradation of colors ranging from the brightest white to the darkest black and provides the correct color rendering that affects the image realism.
Tumblr media
This technology provides more shades in shaded or too-lit areas. HDR technology requires a powerful processor, high brightness and HEVC (or VP9-Profile2) decoder. The maximum reserve of brightness should be many times greater than traditional TVs. HDR provides up to 1500 nits compared to 400 nits for standard models. The expanded color palette also requires special technologies. Today, a combination of these complex technologies is available only in expensive 4K-models. Modern 4K TVs with HDR support have a UHD Premium certificate. HDR function is indicated in the description as HDR10, HDR10 +, Dolby Vision or HLG. 4K Blu-ray format supports HDR by default. Unfortunately, this technology also requires special content that significantly limits its capabilities.
Diagonal
The diagonal affects the optimal viewing distance. A factor of 1.6 is usually used for LED TVs. Thus, a distance of 64 inch is optimal for a 40-inch model. Accordingly, the optimal distance increases with increasing diagonal size. Full HD TVs use the formula diagonal = distance (in meters) x 25 (factor). Thus, a distance of 2 meters is optimal for 50 inches. UHD uses a factor of 39. In this case, a distance of 2 meters is optimal for 78 inches, that, of course, is impressive.
Curved and flat screen
Curved screen visually increases due to the use of peripheral vision. But this effect is achieved only on models with a diagonal of 50 inches and above.
Tumblr media
Today, many experts cite fairly convincing arguments against curved models. You can see them on the video at the end.
3D
Companies are abandoning this function in their new models because of limited 3D-content and the need to use special glasses. Today, this feature is only available in models that were developed mainly until 2017. Smart TV Smart TV provides connection to the Internet and the use of apps to broadcast various content from on-line theaters and other services. Today Android OS with Google Play support is most popular. Of course, Smart TV significantly increases the model cost. Therefore, the combined use of Android set-top box and a TV without Smart TV may be perfectly reasonable alternative in many cases. Read the full article

Japan Display Inc will begin to supply organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens for the Apple Watch later this year, two sources said, a breakthrough for the cash-strapped company whose late shift to OLED has cost it orders from Apple. The supply deal would mark Japan Display's foray into the OLED display market, the two sources familiar with the matter said, declining to be identified because they are not authorised to speak to the media. Japan Display's mainstay liquid crystal display (LCD) business has been slumping due to Apple Inc's recent shift away from LCD, and disappointing sales of the iPhone XR, the only LCD model in Apple's 2018 line-up. #intrigin #intriginmag #instamag #sparkintrigue #instatech #innovation #geeksquad #techies #techmagazine #photooftheday #google #apple #applewatch #iwatch #ios #watchos #smartwatch #smartwatches #android #samsungwatch #huaweiwatch #oled #oledscreen #japan #japan_of_insta #display #oleddisplay #japandisplay (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/intriginmag/p/Bv32Ub1n--u/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1moix2wl6n7ly
