im practically obsessed with teenage dream (haha), older sister death, and friend of death hob. maybe for the winter holidays dream goes back home to his parents' to take time off for uni (he lives with death because it's "easier to commute to class since she lives closer" but really its just to get away from his parents. who dont really care), death obviously goes with him because that's her family too, and she asks hob to tag along since she caught wind of the business with his late wife and son and thought he might benefit from some family time during the holidays. even if the family really fucking sucks. like a lot. but all that to say that when dream *finally* works his little slutty 18 year old seductress magic on hob, it isnt death who catches them in the act but virtually anyone else in the family. imagine the scandal!! death brought home a friend her age and everyone assumed they were dating but keeping it on the DL only for hob to...cheat on her of all people?? with DREAM??

i dont know whos reaction would be more interesting tbh. obviously we know death would have some strong words for hob, and desire would probably make some comment about how hob is dilfy enough that yea they get it, just not on the couch next time they take selfies for instagram there because the lighting is good, be considerate. maybe hob just fucks dream in the living room and they get caught when everyone else in the family comes in to like...hang out. i dunno but them getting caught is both very sexy and very funny

I'm so obsessed with Dream working his slutty little magic so that Hob’s brain just fucking melts and he becomes the most stupid bastard ever to exist. Like the whole family are watching a movie, and it's all dark and cozy and Dream insisted on sitting next to Hob - practically in his lap, actually, because there really isn't a lot of room on the sofa! They're snuggled under a blanket and Dream has somehow managed to get Hob’s dick in his arse without alerting any suspicion... meanwhile Hob has to pretend that he's crying about the sappy Christmas movie to disguise the fact that he's whimpering and groaning as Dream shuffles around on his cock.

The whole fam goes out for a walk and Hob stays behind, only for Dream to sneak back from the walk early so they can fuck. They're literally doing it on the kitchen table and unfortunately Dream’s noises are so loud they don't hear the rest of the family coming back inside.

Death totally gives Hob the slap that he definitely kinda deserves... Despair is gagging because that's the table where people eat food, Dream, thats disgusting!! Hob just wants an opportunity to pull his jeans up, please, he'll literally leave if they want him to but can he please not have his dick out right now?? Desire is like nah I want to look at it a while longer teehee.

Is Dream sorry for traumatising his siblings? Nope, not even a little bit. He's sitting there like the cat who got the cream. He knows that Hob isn't going to give him up now he's had a taste. Plus Death won't stay mad at them forever, Dream is her favourite brother and Hob is her best friend.

(Hob is allowed to stay for the holidays, BTW. With the caveat that if anyone sees him doing more than holding Dream’s hand, his butt is getting kicked out into the snow).

Hi!! Love your fics!! I hope this isnt an odd question, but I wanted to ask, since you've shipped hobmurphy/dreamling since before the tv series came out and the ship definitely has more attention now than it did before--have you noticed any differences in how the morpheus/hob dynamic was written/viewed by the fandom before the netflix show vs afterwards? anything about the ship that newer fans might overlook? im deathly curious about that evolution and thought it might be worth asking about :)

👀You wanna know the pre-show dreamling story? Oh boy, am I happy to talk about that! (no seriously, I vent about those dark ages to anybody willing or unwilling to listen)

So I'm not your oldest sandman fan, I read the comics about 2 years ago and started shipping dreamling/hobmurphy at the same time. I read Men of Good Fortune (dreamling's first issue) and left off shipping them like a maniac. Two guys meeting each other every hundred years, the slowly developing affection, the fucking break-up, the reconciliation at the end, I was HOOKED. So I looked on ao3 for fics...

In a 30 year old fandom, there were FOUR (4) dreamling fics. One of them an introspective drabble, and another one barely shippy, just a lead up to desire/dream... And all those fics were dated 2003, 2006 and 2010. On Tumblr? There were about 30 posts under the tag Hob Gadling, 3-4 of them shippy. There was ONE (1) fanart of dream and hob together. One!

As for the dreamling fandom? Nonexistent. I can count on one hand the number of people I could talk to who shipped them, and I raided the fucking internet... I was literally going around 5 different socials like an idiot, begging people to ship them with me! I nagged my beta (bless you, Roonie) to read the comics, so that I could have somebody to yell at about dreamling!

I wish I could tell you the difference between the shippy content now and back then but it would be a chore cause I was literally the only person actively creating said content (plus ThePlatypussPrincess whom I managed to rope into my agenda and nagged into writing a Glorious fic😘). Those few interactions about them I managed to have were all very similar to the dreamling conversations I have these days.

I think a lot of this was a product of the differences in the source material. I picked up on the dreamling ship fast because it was right up my alley with friends to lovers and slow build of trust and affection. But a lot of other people seemed to have missed that potential i guess which still baffles me. Then the bloody show came around and Hob and dream spent 8 whole minutes staring into each other's eyes, saving each other from Constantine and a million other things so glaringly obvious that there was no way for anybody to miss it. And I was left standing there in the corner like... PEOPLE, THE QUEER WAS ALWAYS THERE, IT JUST DIDN'T WHACK YOU OVER THE HEAD WITH A BAGUETTE!!

Okay I can try comparing differences I guess but those are just the result of the show's additions: there was no Hob jealous of Shakespeare and no Teacher!Hob. And dreamling all in all was perceived in 90% as platonic...

Fuck I'm getting depressed, anyway, the way this ship blew up after the show was fucking insane, I'm still recovering from it.

Pit Stop - The Mandalorian. Short and sweet one-shot of Din and Grogu. Vague background appearance of Tag and Bink for my personal amusement.

Mentor - Ranger's Apprentice. Missing scene showing my thoughts on Halt's reaction at the end of Burning Bridge. Shortest fic I've ever written, but very meaningful. First part of a series, not sure how many parts it will eventually have, but for now there are two.

Close to the Chest - The Witcher. Soft and fluffy scene of Jaskier finding out just how much he means to Geralt. Waiting on chapter 2.

goodbye to all my darkness, there's nothing here but light - The Sandman. Features Meowpheus, touch-starved Morpheus, and somehow both emotionally intelligent & emotionally repressed Dream. I have been reliably informed that this qualifies as "tooth-rotting fluff". I don't know how many chapters this will eventually have.

What was the first piece of art you can remember making as a child?

My mom is an artist, so she was always encouraging me to do artwork. i remember drawing a chickadee at around 7 years old that ended up being framed and sold at a charity auction. My mom had handed it the charity organizer and they decided to put it up for auction....it was pretty cool

Have you ever been able to sense the spirits around you? (ie house hobs & brownies, kobolds, domovoy, nisse, or even if you’re in the right area nymphs or court fae & plant/tree spirits and such)

Ever since i was little ive seen things, felt things, heard things, so forth. it got blocked when i got older but yes ive been able to. we have some local fae out in my backyard due to how much plant life we have on our land. That and I'm pagan and constantly working with spirits

What is one rule you created for yourself that you try to adhere to but have difficulty doing?

As of right now I would say buying things i do not need/binge eating when im in my depressive state

What is one rule others have created for you that you have intentionally broken, and does your defiance hold meaning to you?

When i was Wiccan, it was to not curse, not work with demons...so forth. i broke those, because i found out the Wicca path is...well not for me but also inherently biased towards magick and i do not like the idea that the only real magick is light magick, on top of the threefold law, their classification of deities alongside demons being viewed as evil (plus uh...the guy who created Wicca was a disgusting man. Wicca is 75 years old.) Broke that off and became pagan and luciferian which makes me feel much much better.

Are you an avid reader or consumer of other media? What sorts of stories do you like best? If not stories, what practical things have you liked best that you gleaned from reading/watching?

I LOVVVVEEEEEEEEE reading. But I also am a huge movie lover. more so than TV but i will watch TV series as well. My tastes for books mostly are fantasy, horror and romance. my favorite is fantasy with romance (but actually has a good storyline and isnt primarily focused just on romance.) My favorite media is horror, romance, fantasy, true crime and just bizzare documentaries.

Have you kept any toys or comfort objects from your childhood? What are they?

I have some porcelain dolls that are now in storage that my Grandma gave me, alongside some stuffed animals and books that my parents got me.

If there was one moment in time that you could alter, not just in your life but /any one moment/ with your own force of will imposed on actors/forces outside of human control, what would you alter and why? Or would you at all, and why?

Theres a lot honestly......I think though it would be my fifteenth year. prior to that, i was having some mental issues and bullying but my fifteenth year was the year that really spiraled. Some sexual trauma happened to me on my 15th birthday, then again 3 months later....and ever since then ive kinda had a pattern of dating men who have just abused me, sexually assualted me, so forth. I really wish i could take back a lot thats happened honestly.....maybe i wouldnt be so fucked up now idk
