Tanabemas gift for @wojtekaneko!! This is an Eishi-and-his-mom playlist!! It sort of tracks how their relationship sort of changes throughout the series, starting from the controlling relationship they had even before prologue, and culminating in Eishi's flight away in Flight 42: Open Your Eyes.

Most of these songs are on here because I think the lyrics are a really good match, but I think the video for Miseen (1) and Mabel (3) are worth watching. The album cover image is actually from the Mabel video, I just drew in the Eishi and Kiriko.

The opening and closing songs I see as duets between them, while the three songs in the middle are purely from Eishi's perspective. But of course you can interpret it however you want! I think all these songs are fun and I'd be very happy if everyone listened <3

It’s funny you ask that bc I kinda already answered that with the last ask?? LOL

TLDR basically it’s become almost habit at this point to ship my favorite characters together (if they are compatible ofc) and Sanji and Luffy ended up becoming my favorites after watching OP for a bit so. It was inevitable 😂

I actually started out as a Zolu shipper (I still am just to a lesser degree now!) so really I think it began there—when I get into something I usually scour the AO3 tags for fics so I was on the hunt for some good Zolu writing. Zosan, being the most popular ship in the fandom (according to AO3 stats with over 10k fics. Holy shit) was also often included with Zolu fics making it a poly ship, so I was like oh hell yeah? I’m totally on board with that. So I got to see a lot of really fun dynamics with the three of them, and I started to get invested in the Sanlu side of things. As this was happening I was also watching OP at the same time and Sanji was quickly rocketing up my list of faves to take one of the top spots (Luffy had already become a favorite from the get go). And my brain was just like

so I was like okay alright. Considering. And then after that I was fucking DONE for. They got me in a vice grip and rotted my brain so thoroughly that I’m utterly ruined for any other Luffy or Sanji ships now. I can even pinpoint the EXACT date it happened bc I posted about it lmao here’s my “realizing Sanlu is the ship of all time” post from early December, the day my life changed forever /j

Anyway they just have a really good dynamic and me being the idiot I was decided not to blacklist spoiler tags so I kept seeing stuff about WCI and how it was THE Sanlu arc so that probably doomed me even further. An arc focusing on my favorite characters and their very not homoromantic relationship with each other? I started binging OP nonstop just so I could speedrun to WCI and this was back when I was on like. Episode 300 something. I was soooo impatient I was desperate to get to WCI as fast as possible so I could Suffer LMAO

So um yeah the Sanlu hyperfixation has me by the throat and doesn’t plan on letting me go anytime soon. Sorry for the rant. I can’t shut up about them Ever

Every time I see someone claiming you can't ship Wolverine with anyone because of Wolverine's age, I'm just like "I think maybe you might be stupid. You should get that checked."

Age gaps are only toxic when they create a toxic power dynamic. Wolverine's age doesn't give him an advantage over grown adults because they have the same relative maturity. He doesn't lord his age over the people he has romances with. Honestly, I struggle to imagine how he could use his age to his advantage in a relationship because it's not like his maturity matches that of a theoretical 200+ person. He doesn't even act like, say, 100. Calling him a creep for having feelings for a thirty-year-old woman? You are the one being weird there, infantilizing a grown-ass person.

There's definitely some ships that I'd side-eye you for, but the problem with those isn't the numerical difference in years, it's the difference in maturity and the pre-existing dynamic between the characters. Younger characters he has taken a mentoring/parental role with? No-go. But see, I would have the same conviction if he were just 40.

the whole laine situation is so.......... idk. i get why cbj players wouldn't be happy with him publicly basically saying they're okay with losing (EVEN if some ppl there are like.. no way every athlete on that team likes being put in that light). regardless of rumors that float around the league or whatever abt why someone leaves, it's one thing to actually cite it out loud and on paper as a reason you want out, and imo it doesn't look good on you. i feel like most nhlers know how to graciously be like "yeah, i wanted a fresh start somewhere else" when they leave an org even if they have other issues internally, but people who can't fathom why an org or why teammates of the guy wouldn't be happy with their effort and motivation being called into question like... this is pro sports. columbus already probably struggles to seem like a team people Want to go to, so idk. i think it's tacky from him to do that.
