was rewatching RoR and giggling over the fact that sasha's space/science hyperfixation was so strong to the point that he was ignoring everything else in this life-or-death situation just to get the record back. then i realised oh god maybe part of the reason he cared so strongly about keeping the record was in order to cling onto the memory of his mother he associated with the song . because it seems as though he doesn't have many memories of her (beyond the mindreading incident) so the fear of losing that one happy connection blindsided his normally fairly rational decisionmaking oh what if i cried . sashaaa ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

I recently stumbled upon your c!Schlatt and c!Dream character study fic that you made back in 2020. Since we have gotten a lot more info on the deal, such as the book, then I'm curious, if you had to rewrite it today, how would you do it?

i think that despite being wrong obviously abt the reasoning, a lot of the tone and stuff still kinda fits how i generally think about that interaction. c!Schlatt is someone that's not physically a threat to c!Dream, but still someone pretty goddamn intimidating, and this idea of otherworldliness with him (between, at the time, the fact that he had come back to the server after being banned, plus how this man CONSTANTLY just Knew Shit while playing dumb) and all still rings quite true to me. I think Schlatt definitely initiated the deal; there's no way Dream knew he had the revive book until it was something he was willing to give up, and there's like quite literally nothing else he could've offered that Dream would've joined him for. I'd definitely write Dream a little moreeeeee hm...paranoid, definitely. Preoccupied. More about Wilbur, for sureeee.

Schlatt knowing about the TNT I'm pretty sure is canon, but I forget the specifics LOL. I'd make the actual deal more insane thanks to some headcanons I have about how that went down, tbh. I think if c!Dream's gonna have a breakdown over supernatural threats and c!Schlatt had the book, there's quite some room to play with ways to spook the shit out of him, especially in fic. the revive book locks him into the deal wayyy more than the original theories about offering him lmanburg, obviously. hmm what else what else ... emphasize the desperation on both sides more, throw in a little bit of c!dream being delusional, a hefty dash of dramatic irony, and yeah. something like that?
