ninjago au where Morro didn't die he just ran away and didn't come back but then later he gets invited to the tournament of elements and the ninja meet him there and yeah stuff happens I might expand more on this later if anyone wants me too

okay here they are (under the cut, because there's only actually six but it became long- i think a lot lmao):

1. Lava Secret Dating AU: Essentially, it's just Cole and Kai start dating in college secretly because they've both got varying levels of internalized homophobia and are scared to tell their friends. Cole's out as gay already, but he's scared of relationships meanwhile Kai is not out at all. Also this all starts because they sleep together while they're drunk once before even realizing they both have feelings for each other in a sober state. I am writing this one and it should hopefully be finished in like a month, i think?? If i can get myself to write a fight... (I'm avoiding it by writing this instead lol)

2. Government-Assigned Soulmate: I am absolutely obsessed with those soulmate TV shows/books that are always dystopian so I kind of came up with my own spin on it. So, the government for generations has chosen the best fitting job, community, and lifetime partner for its citizens. At 18, you receive your job (or begin any training/schooling you need for it) and 21 the preliminary stuff is finished so you are paired for your soulmate and given your new home following the weddings. During the beginning of the year, all weddings are held and you are married when the youngest turns 21 (so some people may get married older than 21 depending on their match- in the au, the longest normally is no more than 3 years). So in this au, Cole and Kai would be paired, Jay and Nya, Lloyd and Morro (the age gap is two years in this- im not sure how the fandom feels generally about greenstorm so there's bonding but im not sure if theyll be endgame). Of course, the government is not perfect and there is a rebellion against it- Garmadon is head of the matchmaking unit while Wu is the leader of the rebellion against the government. Not sure I want to give away what the government's plans are yet. Oh! Also Zane and Pixal are androids who assist newlyweds and then moving into new homes, but they learn they are actually capable of more human emotion than they realized and they will eventually join the rebellion. (Sorry, this one is a lot, but I was excited about lol.

3. Neuro's Cousin: This is one I've tried surmising on a lot, but it needs a lot of thought on ALL the characters before I could start writing it. I call it "neuro's cousin" because the villain would be an elemental with similar powers to him, but rather than know what people are thinking, he "knows" the truth. He and some other elemental of power i've yet to decide capture the ninja and use his power to create rifts between them as they're trapped in his building or island or something. Rifts already have begun because of a lack of crime recently, causing the ninja to start having regular lives to a degree and separating. Will Cole and Kai secretly be dating in this au too? There's a very good chance lmfao, but there would be a very equal amount of "screen time" for every character (Lloyd, Cole, Jay, Kai, Zane, Nya, and Pixal) and romance would definitely not be the focus. But I want to create like 2-3 secrets for everyone that are revealed along the plot, of varying importance which will be slowly revealed. Obviously, they have a harder time trusting each other and a harder time fighting together as they try to escape "neuro's cousin".

4. Mind Electric: This one will probably be pretty dark and I really hope I write it some day. I don't know who it was but someone shared the spotify playlists of the main characters in Ninjago and "Mind Electric" by Miracle Musical was on Zane's. Not only have I been listening to that amazing song on repeat, but it's really got my brain stirring. I haven't finished the show (I'm only seven seasons in lol), and I think a corrupted Zane already happens in a season I haven't watched yet, but I still would really love to do a take on a corrupted Zane inspired by this song. I like the idea of an AU where Garmadon was always a sensei to the ninjas along with Wu, although Garmadon was still evil, just better at hiding it in hopes of a slower but more reliable plan. An accident occurs one day while the ninja are fighting (probably actually caused by Garmadon) in which Zane fatally injures a bystander. Everyone is understandably shocked and it's called for by the public that Zane be punished in some way. Garmadon says he'll take care of it and takes Zane away for a few months- all while the ninja are still shocked, but miss their good friend. When he comes back... he's different. Not reprogrammed like someone messed with his code, but abused his human side to the point that he's changed. Sometimes he's pretty out of it and dazed, sometimes he's really jumpy and scared, sometimes desperate for help, and soon becomes very dark as Garmadon starts using him for his bidding. The ninja must find out what's wrong and save him.

5. Jaya Aladdin AU - Tbh, i just watched the live action aladdin and thought Nya would make a really good jasmine. And I think Jay would make an adorable awkward Aladdin. I thought Zane should be genie, and Kai would maybe be Nya's younger brother (by like a year or so), rather than older brother, explaining why she could still be sultan by the end. Despite my love for Cole... I have no idea who he'd be still. I'd probably make up a character for him. AND NADAKHAN CAN BE JAFAR. wouldn't that be ironic? At least the djinn still becomes a djinn by the end.

6. Okay i don't actually have an au for this but I really like the dynamic of techno and i want to wrote jay and zane together. like... you're telling me one is an engineer... and one is a robot... THE TENSION IN THE ROOM. (or nya and zane too that would work... it'll just depend on my mood of braincell and joker being awkward or braincell and braincell being awkward)
