Gotta add on some clarification or something here cuz in classic tumblr fashion people are looking this shitpost comic I drew in ~45 minutes and taking it as an excuse to shit on WHITE MEAT (the song Toby and Camellia worked on) for no reason in the tags.

First of all…WHITE MEAT fucks, good ass song. ACC (the original composer) has given full support towards the new soundtrack as well, there’s no bad blood here at all. Please read the interview. Seriously.

I personally am seriously excited to see more. This is a “Holy shit! Two cakes!l type of situation. Not a “Toby could have never hoped to live up to Pepper Steak, he should have given up on the spot” type of situation. I’m seeing a decent amount of people inviting this weird negativity onto the situation which honestly kinda lame. Y’all need to have some more whimsey in your hearts!! Why not two soundtracks? The original is still up and still free. Take a chill pill.

All in all, Super excited to see more about this OST, and I really hope that all the implied stress was worth it in the end for Toby. I also hope that this post didn’t possibly contribute to any stress on his part as well.

On one hand I am upset that the new OFF release won't have it's original soundtrack as a toggleable option (the loss of Pepper Steak is upsetting for a lot of people, but losing Unreasonable Behavior, Stay In Your Coma, and Flesh Maze Tango is personally very upsetting for me.), but I fully understand why they couldn't secure the rights for it, and I don't blame ACC in any way for being uncomfortable signing a contract, especially when it'd be difficult to vet a lot of the samples used.

That said, the original game is always going to be there. It's not going anywhere, it will always be available for download and it will always be free. They're not pulling a SEGA and removing the original from online stores to corral you into purchasing the remaster, it's not going away, it will always be there. And frankly, I will gladly take that compromise. A new soundtrack is very, very exciting to me, and I look forward to hearing what the new composers put out for it.
