Nurses and midwives seeking work in the UK and Ireland can now take OET
The Nursing and Midwifery Council, UK is now accepting OET for overseas-trained nurses and midwives for registration purposes.
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has announced it will formally recognise OET for overseas-trained nurses and midwives for registration purposes, from 2 January 2018
The first healthcare regulators to recognise OET in the UK and Ireland, NMC and NMBI respectively join a wide range of healthcare boards and councils in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai and Singapore who recognise OET for registration across 12 healthcare professions.

Information about OET
Recognition in the UK and Ireland is anticipated to lead to increased demand for OET and has resulted in a number of changes:
C+ has been introduced to correlate to IELTS 6.5. See details about OET scoring.
Candidates can access the OET Preparation Portal to prepare for OET.
OET test applications are open for two test dates at the same time so that candidates can choose to apply for one of two upcoming tests.
Expanding test venue network
OET is currently available every month in over 40 countries and new venues will be opening regularly to increase access for candidates.
