The foibles and inner demons of the Bright!verse aren’t exactly Star Wars stuff.
Ruth and her insane willingness to throw everything away for a rescue, a tendency that reaches its extreme conclusion in Knights of the Waking Alliance.
Quinn’s total inability to separate Ruth from what Ruth represents - and when the true confluence of them comes it’s far too late to intervene in either. So goes Ruth Means Compassion.
Wynston and his lubrication of every problem he tries to handle. That became clear before I even knew it was a problem. It plays out in slow motion in Nights Errant.
Jora Mei and her dependence on intimidation to enforce her obsessive deal-making. She can’t imagine herself without a sheaf of bargains to protect her. The thing she can’t face, can scarcely conceive of, is someone who doesn’t care about the consequences of defying her, a problem in Knights of the Waking Alliance.
Fade and her obsession causing her to lie to her own friends in pursuit of revenge - an obsession that ultimately breaks their loyalty in Knights of the Waking Alliance.
Pacha Gann and her entire addictive mess with her abusive boyfriend, that had to get catastrophically bad before she cleaned up and moved out in Nights Errant.
Vierce and his inability to let go of a past whose lessons haven’t helped him for a long, long time, in Overcoming Adviercity.
Rho and the discovery that what he thought was a slippery slope was in fact a cliff - and one he would follow a bright soul over, in the Dialogues. He knows what he’s sacrificing. His life would have been simpler if he refused, a fact he remains keenly cognizant of in solitary moments.

I hate to WIP, but...
This is what the better part of an hour of me throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks produces. It’s torturing me. I might yet scrap the whole thing. Spoilers for the SWTOR Shadow of Revan expansion.
Ruth categorically rejects “Revan”‘s claims. Review videos: could someone who has drunk the Kool-aid make it this far still believing the Emperor might protect the Empire? She ran off on orders before Ziost.
I can't protect you.
Yavin, called away, secretly wants to avoid the treason - does she admit what he does to her? Does she call this fight hopeless in front of the coalition? Has it become treason yet?
Masks! Half truths! The Jedi want him dead. Is that our criterion for action now? Take off mask, lines remain Never presume to tell me what the Emperor has done. I have touched that darkness. Yawn. So have I. And I, unlike some people who shall remain Wrathless, had the conversation about bad touch after.
Look me in the eye, Marr, and tell me our Empire was built on fewer bones than this. I have fought your war. I have protected your heroes. Must I submit to your strategies? Will that satisfy your lust for war? Your appetite for watching Sith backbiting?
Ruth, Marr stare. He draws. Not today, Marr. I have someplace to be. If you wish to assault the foundations of the galaxy while I'm away, well, that's between you and whatever force you believe in.
You were getting misty. The entire planet was misty. That proves nothing. I guess I never thought before that moment that you could be sick of it. I wanted to shake some sense into you. If you were sick of it, why not help us end it?
Tell me the Empire has a bright future without its Emperor. Tell me it will turn into a magical candyland where all our dreams come true. Tell me justice begins with just one more execution.
Oh, my Force, does she always talk like this? Only when her master comes up. I think he did something to her. A curse of bombast? Creative. I'm simply dying to know the details. But outside these tantrums the Wrath doesn't talk to me, and the Emperor, well. Even the most economical use of torture will kill a captured agent eventually, if he in-sists on not telling me how to get an audience. Gith sidled away.
Niral, you're debating the stream while the river is rolling. Think of the future. Alliances. Empty thrones, though I wouldn't be surprised if you were the one woman living who doesn't envision her own ass in it. The future is here. In cooperation. Did you bargain with her, Satele? Mind the cultural nuances in that contract. Better yet, burn it once you’re done with her. You’ll find Master Shan has no need of such theatrics. We deal...honorably. If a transaction is honor you’re the greatest hero of them all. And if it isn’t, you will see a reckoning, Jora Mei. I will not join your collection. I will not join your crusade. I didn't ask you to. That you were proud, I knew. That you weren't chosen for your intelligence, I knew. But that you would throw away your life in service to a being whose sole intent is to use you until you die... You're only angry because you wanted to use me instead. My point stands.
No, Jora Mei isn't that angry
Who is the greater monster?

Jora Mei/Darth Scythia didn’t do any of the Sith Inquisitor line. Virinos Geth/Darth Nox is the only Inquisitor. Scythia just bargained Khem Val away from him...at a price I will not at this time reveal.
