You wake up in the middle of the night when you hear loud clacking sound, as if chains hit a stone. Few seconds passes until you realize that this sound is nothing but your magical trap you set upstairs, finally caught some prey.

As you arrive, you see an elf, almost indistinguishable in darkness. His coal-black coat leaves no doubt about purpose of his presence. His golden eyes glimmer from under the hood, waiting for your judgement.

Back in old days Ril accidentally got curse of Hakkar the Soulflayer by maraudering it's temple, witch in fact turned out to be a blessing, It's just Rilar that doesn't know shit about loa blessings :D So, the "blessing" was useful and gave to it's owner some powers, but...

...in exchange it fested on rogue's life, slowly drying him to death. That was a shard of dead god's soul parasiting on the living, hoping to be alive once more. So Ril lived with it not quite happily until he got in Zuldazar where he met Jani.

Jani, the king of all thieves, empathized Rilar, and told him what's he dealing with, after that, the loa suggested to ... change a patron to himself! That was his way to laugh at the dead god in his afterdeath AND a lovely way to explore the world, because...

...now the kaldorei carries part of Jani's spirit wherever he goes, and this one cute gift is avatar of this spirit! It's nasty and makes a lot of loud noises :D

The reason why you almost never see Rilar in casual clothes are those veins across his body - trace of an ancient loa curse, that makes him very recognizable, which in turn not the best trait for a thief.
