OH YEAH I joined a dnd campaign, and I'm finally playing a paladin!

This is Oleander, my beloved Firbolg! (yes, he has feathers don't worry about it) Specifically, he's an Oath of the Ancients Paladin! He's a little stupid, but makes up for that in muscle and just being an absolute sweetie.

incredibly empathetic, perceptive and understanding about your emotions and general situation.

very affectionate, be it physically or verbally. though he can definitely adapt to whatever his partner’s comfortable with aka dial it down a notch or two lmao

caring! so caring! great at comforting and just being a soothing presence.

amazing cook. will bring you breakfast to bed. or dinner. or lunch. he will cook you for whenever you want wherever you want, it’s his love language lmao

this might only be a pro for some people, but conversations with him generally often skip phases like small-talk—he is incredibly honest and vulnerable with just about anyone and provides a space for you to do the same, whether you want to ramble about something seemingly insignificant that means a lot to you or talk abt more philosophical questions about life and such.

Sparrow goes still. "Oleander is...strange. Dangerous. His views of the world should be respected, but..." She drifts off, turning silent in thought as she deliberates her words. When she speaks again, her voice is nearly inaudible. "There are times when it's hard to even understand what the sense of wrongness about him comes from. He can be kind; kinder than most, even. There is something deeply appealing about the kind of love he promises...all-encompassing, never-ending...but the rot underneath cannot be ignored. It should not be. Not all loves are healthy. Abruptly, she clears her throat and straightens in her chair. "I cannot deny I see why people are drawn to him. But I would recommend anyone interacting with him do so with caution."

Oleander

A look than can only be described as complicated colors Minovae's expression. She flips through what seems to be at least three different faces before sighing, semi-resigned. "Oleander is a fucking mystery to me. I've never met someone I've wanted to like as much as I've wanted to dislike. You would think being the Paradox I am that I would understand..." she dryly laughs. "His paternal instincts are unstoppable, protective and nurturing and doting even, but then remembering it's all part of his worship to Lamashtu?"

She shakes her head.

"It's so strange. I want to like him, but every time I remember it's like I can't see anything he does without a sinister ulterior motive. I know Lamashtu has her share of worshippers that aren't exactly bad people. I get it. A worse version of me somewhere out there in all the universes might be worshipping her, begging for salvation because of what I am, but me here? Nu uh. Too much evil and truly monstrous acts and beasts have been put into the world in her name. I simply can't trust anyone that is as devoted to her as Ollie is."

A sigh.

"But I see him with Ember and with the mongrel children... and I forget it all. He looks the kind and perfect father figure... then he says something about decay and rot and cannibalism and I want to push him away from them all and fetch the manacles."

A shiver travels down the length of her tail, rattling the feathers all the way.

"He's a countdown to disaster."
