In the future, Elena and Ava end up having a family of their own too, but I don't have all the details of that fleshed out yet, haha. So I'll just answer these for Nat and Marin for now!

4: Who is the one the kids call out to when they’re looking for something?

It usually just depends on whoever else is home, but if it's both of them, then it's usually Nat. Marin's eyesight is...poor, even with their glasses (at least until they're turned!) and Marina's figured out pretty quick that Nat is the one to go to for help, haha. She also has endless patience. Whatever it is Marina is missing, Nat is determined to find! No matter how small it is.

12: Who ends up having to hold whatever half-eaten snack the baby didn’t want anymore?  

That job usually winds up being Marin's, haha. Nat loves their daughter, but messes are something she still doesn't like, no matter how hard she's tried to get used to them! Marin will hold whatever snack it is Marina doesn't want, no matter how sticky or messy it is. They started keeping wet wipes in the car for situations just like this, and they're one of Nat's favorite modern inventions.

15: Who is better at comforting the kids when they’re scared? 

That's always been Nat, even when Marina was a baby. Her voice is just so soft and soothing, and so rich. It would help her settle, and as she gets older, that never changes. She runs to her whenever she has a nightmare, or when the trees outside tap on her bedroom window and frighten her, or whenever she stays up too late reading scary stories under the covers. One of Marin's favorite things is finding them cuddled up together when they wake up in the morning!

D: What new traditions do they start as a family?

As much as Nat hates fast fashion, even she couldn't help but cave when Marin said they wanted to do the "matching family pajamas" for Marina's first Christmas. They do everything else too, of course, but the pajamas are Marin's favorite. And Marina's! And Nat enjoys it too, even if the pajamas aren't very stylish, haha. (They drag the rest of UB into it, of course.)

E: Are they honest with their children? Are there certain things they try to shield from them? 

After growing up with Rebecca as their mother and learning all the things that were kept from them, Marin was very determined to be as honest with Marina as they could safely be. There's limits, of course--the two of them never discuss the cost of things in front of her, for example, because they don't want her to feel guilty for wanting or needing things. (After becoming a parent, Marin realized they could understand why Rebecca tried so hard to keep secrets from them, even though they still don't like it. Their relationship changes a lot after Marina is born.)

There’s a young woman sitting by one of the tables. Holding the cup with both hands, though she didn’t drink anything. Instead she just looked out of the window. Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary.

It’s a slightly rainy summer day. Only two people could be found on the pier.

One of them was not dressed for the weather in any way. Hair in a french braid and dressed in a yellow flowy summer dress. No umbrella in sight. Marina basically skipped towards the other.

1: Who do the kids enjoy playing with the most?

To be honest, Marina would probably prefer Nat, haha. She just has so much fun getting down on the floor with so that she isn't so tall, and loves doing everything she can to encourage their daughter's imagination. Marin is fun, too, but Nat is the one who makes blanket tents with her or who has the fancy tea parties (with actual tea! And plenty of snacks).

Bonus A: Who do they think their child takes after? In what ways do they remind them of each other?

Both Nat and Marin think Marina takes after the other, lol. Marin just loves how much she looks like Nat! And one of Nat's favorite things is watching Marina pick up on all the little habits Marin has, but doesn't realize. They make the same faces when they're thinking or focusing on something, and Nat just adores it so much <3
