Top 5 Motogp ships on ao3 during the last decade
I filtered each year from Jan 1st to December 31st. No other fics are included in each year's rank, only the ones posted during that calendar year.
'New' means that they were either new to any year's top 10 on ao3, or new to this list. If I included the plus minus, that means it was not new to the top ten, it just hadn't made the top 5 yet.

Discussion:
Since there were so little motogp fics in the first few years, some of the ships in the top 5 were there because of a single writer. So it does not always reflect the fandom's opinions of the ships. For example, all of the Alex/Dani and Alex/Jorge fics were written by the same person (at the time. There are new ones).
It also shows how a ship being popular for a short time can have lasting effects on the all-time rank. Maverick/Fabio being an example of this as they are still in the top 5 overall, despite only being in the top 5 of the yearly rank twice.
#rosquez took an absolute beating after sepang 2015#nothing but Ls for AGES#2016 was the year that everyone decided that jorge needed bitches#idk why i made this but i had fun#motogp#not museum tag#motogp ship stats#motogp rpf#ao3

Luz is actually 13 at the start of the Owl House and here's why (Owl House timeline analysis).
Please read!!! 👉👈
Ok, so I've been rewatching the owl house recently through Danny Motta's videos on YouTube, and it got me to thinking about the years the owl house takes place in and the logistics of the BI and Earth time zones. So, I made an analysis:
*SPOILERS BELOW*
First off, let's talk about Luz.
When you look up Luz's age online, it says that Luz is canonically 14 years old in the show. But when you look at the events of the show (*Spoilers sorry*), we see that Luz is celebrating her birthday on the BI, and we see Eda say this line:
Ok, no big deal, right? Well, if we look at the events of the show, we know that the kids were in the Human realm for a while. It was fall in the human realm when the kids arrived after the day of Unity. After the montage of them in the Human realm, it is shown to be Halloween. This means that they would have been in the Human realm for a little under a year, meaning it doesn't make sense that Eda would say that line because Luz would have already turned 15 during that year in the Human realm while the collector was controlling the BI.
So, for this timeline, I'm gonna reference @drachenfalter's calendar analysis (check it out, it's great). In this analysis, they use this picture of a BI calendar.
We see here that the calendar has 42 days in a month, and so their analysis shows that the BI would have 9 months in a year instead of 12, meaning the time zones don't change, but the calendar is longer (hence, why Luz can text her mom in the same time zone).
For Luz's birthday, there is no specific birthday stated for her, but for the sake of the post, I'm gonna head cannon it to be April 8th because that is the day Watching and dreaming came out. Watching and dreaming came out in 2023, and there is a 3-year timeskip at the end, with Luz having graduated High school already in the human realm and preparing to start college in the BI. If we assume that the timeskip takes place in that modern day in 2023, then that would mean that Belos's final defeat takes place in 2020, and the start of the show would have taken place not in 2020, when the show came out, but in 2019, 1 year prior, explaining Luz's narration at the end.
With that in mind, here is my timeline Headcannon.
Luz- 13 years old at the start of the show finishing 8th grade.
Time: Mid-May or beginning of June 2019.
Luz birthday: April 8th (H.C.)
Luz turns 13, finished 8th grade, Camilla sends luz to camp; Luz leaves for BI in Mid-May (March for BI), 2019.
Luz learns magic, attends Hexside, dates Amity in the span of 5 BI months, 7 Earth Months. (It is fall when Luz finds Vee and returns home after the day of Unity).
Luz fights Belos and goes back to the Human realm in November 2019 (September for BI).
The Hexsquad go live in human realm for 1 calendar year, give or take.
- Luz goes back to school, the gang experiences the different seasons in the Human realm montage in Thanks to Them, time jump ends at Halloween.
Luz turns 14 during this time in 2020, and is a sophomore in high school in Thanks to Them (reminder: there is no pandemic in the Owl house universe)
The Hexsquad fights Belos again and goes back to the BI on Halloween in 2020 (End of August/Beg. of September for BI).
The Hexsquad saves the BI in November 2020 (September for BI).
*Timeskip 3 years later*
Luz turns 15 in 2021, spends it rebuilding the Isles.
Luz turns 16 in 2022
Luz turns 17 in 2023, reaches the end of senior year, graduates' high school in the human realm with Vee.
The finale takes place on April 8th, 2023 (February for BI).
- Luz turns 17, celebrates her "King-ceañera".
Luz goes to magic university in the BI in 2023.
- Luz's move in date for school is shown to be August 21st in "Watching and Dreaming", which would be June for the BI, meaning that Luz will have left for school 3-4 months early since she is also shown to be packing in the episode.
Ok, so one last thing to note, with this timeline, the finale would take place in 2023, and Luz would be celebrating her 17th birthday in the BI. This means that Luz would have still been a legal minor when starting college. My head cannon is that Camilla allowed Luz to stay with Eda and Raine for the 3-4 months before starting school, and constantly checked in on Luz during her time in the dorms before turning 18 (as well as long after, of course:)). Eda and Raine would likely also coparent to make sure that Luz was keeping up with her move in process and magic studies.
Anyway, that's my timeline analysis for the Owl house! Hope y'all like it! (I also have other Head cannons for the ages of the other Hexsquad members that go with this timeline if y'all wanna know).

Tolkien Fandom Event Calendar
Recently I’ve received some asks about events/weeks in the Tolkien fandom, so I thought I’d compile a list of those that I know about. This is not exhaustive, and dates are subject to change by the organizers of these events!
Other blogs you can check out are @tolkieneventsblog and @tolkienfandomevents, though I’m not sure how active those are. The @silmarillionwritersguild Discord also has a channel dedicated to signal boosts for all sorts of Tolkien-related & general fandom happenings, which is another excellent way to keep up with fandom goings-on.
Want to run your own event? Here’s some of my tips!
If your event is not on here and you’d like it to be, let me know and I can add it :) Note: I will only add events that have announced dates!

Hi! I’m getting into Thunderbirds fics and was thinking about writing some myself. I saw that you ran a challenge at one point and was wondering if there was any event calendar the fandom is using. Or are there any events at all? I wasn’t sure where to find any.
Hi and welcome to the Thunderfam! :D
There is no strict calendar, but a few events do recur at will.
At the moment we are in the middle of Fanart Appreciation Month, which has occurred in January the previous two years as well. The idea being to reblog lots of artworks to give our artists some recognition.
February has been Fab Five Feb in 2019 and 2020, but was missed last year. I haven't done the call out as to whether the Thunderfam want that one this year yet. It is usually a six week challenge with a focus on the five brothers plus another character which changes each year.
Some time in March/April there might be a Easter gift fic event.
Somewhere between April and August there is sometimes a random challenge event. There was nothing last year, but in previous years there has been Sensory Sunday , Earth & Sky Week and an Olympics challenge.
We also celebrate each of the Tracy boys' birthdays - Gordon 14 Feb, Alan 12 March, Scott 4 July (?), Virgil 15 August (always a big one for me :D ) and John in October. Other cast members also get birthday celebrations at various times of the year.
September and October are usually taken up by external challenges like Sicktember and Whumptober.
We did have a Thunderfam November event - Fluffember - but last year an external event was picked up so Fluffember didn't run, but it did run 2019, 2020 and 2021.
December is left to Tag Team Secret Santa.
There have also been random other events over the past few years and I have no doubt there were others before I joined the fandom in 2018. Due to the sudden rise of Covid in 2020 we started International Rescue & Relief, a fluff prompt challenge which is technically still going, but I haven't mentioned it for ages.
Plus there are always writing prompts or question lists flying around that get picked up by whoever wants to play.
Thunderfam, if I have forgotten anything, please chime in. It is late here and my brain is usually pretty unreliable.
Anyways, welcome, thank you for asking. I hope you have fun in thunderfam :D
Nutty
(so do you have a favourite Tracy brother? :D )

He fought Ryland with Kas and Braham in Icebrood Saga Episode Champions: Power: Jormag's World, where the Owl's spirit sacrificed herself for the others, and this happened the day before his birthday. He was about to be 28.
Taimi is said to have been born in late spring or early summer. I just wish they'd give them actual birthdays.

Last 10 Winners Ranked Differently
Last year, I made a post that ranked my winners from 2009 to 2023 (I hadn't ranked 2008 yet and the 2024 season had just started). This time, around I wanted to do something different. While I was writing my piece of the first released pieces, I wanted to look at my last 10 winners (because 2008-2024 is 16 which is...a lot. So I will be doing 2015-2024), and rank them based on release date on a calendar year and see some trends. Let's get to it!
2018**: "Forever" by Alekseev (Belarus) *November 10/January 10/February 16* 2023***: "Aijā" by Sudden Lights (Latvia) *January 27/February 11* 2024: "Before The Party's Over" by Mustii (Belgium) *February 20* 2016*: "You Are the Only One" by Sergey Lazarev (Russia) *March 5* 2020: "Répondez-moi" by Gjon's Tears (Switzerland) *March 6* 2019: "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence (Netherlands) *March 7* 2015: "Rhythm Inside" by Loïc Nottet (Belgium) *March 10* 2021: "Tout l'univers" by Gjon's Tears (Switzerland) *March 10* 2022: "Die Together" by Amanda Tenfjord (Greece) *March 10* 2016*: "Sound Of Silence" by Dami Im (Australia) *March 11* 2017: "Beautiful Mess" by Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria) *March 13*
*: Due to the actions of Russia in 2022, I'm disappointed and unsure of how to rank previous songs by the country, especially if the artist supports the monstrosities committed. So, I have both Russia as my winner from my ranking in 2021, but my runner-up (Australia) is also considered.
**: The Belarus 2018 entry was released on November 10 as "Navesegda" and then released as "Forever" on January 10. It then participated in a national final and won on February 16, being announced as a Eurovision song then.
***: The Latvia 2023 entry was selected through a national final. All the songs were released early and then the winning song was announced as a Eurovision song on February 11.
Conclusions: I have 3 winners that were released on March 10. That's odd. And probably like a lot of people, their Eurovision winner came during the later part of the season when most of the songs are out. Another strange trend I notice is that my 3 NQ winners (Belarus 2018, Latvia 2023, and Belgium 2024) were released the earliest of the bunch. The same cannot be said about the winner I agree with (Netherlands 2019) as it was mid-pack among my other winners.

Evie's OC Birthday Calendar
Have you ever wondered when my OCs' birthdays are? No? Well, you're getting a birthday calendar anyways. Under the cut, you'll find calendar pages, the template for which was made by this lovely person - for free! Thank you so much ^^
If, for some reason, you can't read what's written on the images, either because they won't load or because you can't read my sorry attempt at writing in cursive for the first time since fifth grade, don't worry – I've put a list of all the birthdays underneath the images for you!

Staff Thoughts on SessRin
I think there’s some rumor floating around that the staff of InuYasha and Yashahime were surprised by SessRin.
It’s not that they’re surprised by the pairing, but one in particular was surprised that Sunrise and Rumiko Takahashi touched on the subject and made it happen. Let alone, all were surprised on the main characters having children and there being a sequel. With excitement.
Years before Yashahime became announced, and during this time it was “under wraps” but in talks. In 2018, The InuYasha Animator Sachiko Suigimoto. Who created their own personal interpretations of Adult Rin with Sesshoumaru and sold artworks of them standalone and in 2019 edition calendars. I actually own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Sn5MWPQ93s&t=16s
One of the English voice actors that I know of. They were not surprised. The Canadian Actors, I can’t speak for. But the Japanese can speak for themselves.
In Animage February 2010
Mamiko Noto says it would be wonderful for Rin to fall in love with Sesshoumaru when she becomes an adult.

In this video interview May 24, 2014 Ken Narita says for him “Rin is Sesshoumaru’s lover” Source: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Xp411o7EW?from=search&seid=9917555374249617273 Translation: https://eeriechan.tumblr.com/post/631171058515443712/narita-noto-sessrin-opinion
In the raw, original live airing of the Yashahime Sesshoumaru and Rin stream. You can watch here: https://twitter.com/JeizuK/status/1337726838911561728
Ken Narita: "She certainly has Sesshomaru's features but.. The eyes and what-not kinda' look like Rin's.."
Mamiko Noto: "Ahhh! But we're still not sure, right? Right??" (sweatdrop)
Ken Narita: "Yes, we're not sure. ...She kinda looks like Jaken a little too."
This was actually cut from Viz Media’s translation because it was a spoiler. Ayuuria also watched the full livestream when it aired and can confirm he did in fact say Towa looked like Rin. Shonen Sunday Super 2020 Rumiko indirectly confirming that Rin is the Mother while joking Kenjiro Hata: "Uhm... er can I ask... straight up... who is Sesshoumaru with?! Well, I can only think of one person..." [Who did Sesshoumaru shack up???] Rumiko Takahashi: "First of all, I had no such idea! (laughs) ... Well, that's the part you can look forward to when watching. But anyway, I think they thought pretty well on this."

Mikako Komatsu (Setsuna) says that she thinks Towa closes the gap between herself and others is similiar to “that person” and says Towa and Setsuna’s relationship was a relationship similar to that of their parents.
“If you look at Towa, I think you can figure out who the mother is.” To which Souta says Towa is like his sister Kagome, and Jinenji compared Rin and Kagome. After the confirmation of Episode 15, Kaede says Towa is just like Rin.
Upon the Da Vinci magazine, the voice actors said if Rin wasn’t the mother that they would be upset. To which the name was blurred out due to spoilers at the time, two letter reading is Rin’s name.

While Rumiko Takahashi said that Rin was his wife, referencing her with her Wide Edition Title “The one who changed Sesshoumaru”
https://twitter.com/shonen_sunday/status/1320666479696642049
Considering, Rumiko Takahashi was at a loss when deciding the ending for the Final Act, so she went to Satsuki Yukino. It’s very possible she may have gone to the other voice actors or staff for ideas. https://twitter.com/shonen_sunday/status/1321028870938726403
Majority of the staff supported Sesshoumaru and Rin as a couple.
In the end, we can say. All were surprised that they made the characters, such as InuYasha, Kagome, Sesshoumaru and Rin all have children. Sesshoumaru being with a human as his development. Remembering it’s not like his old self and he has changed for the better. Let alone Yashahime actually becoming a reality.

Merlyn Boys: The Old enough ‘verse Chronology
Here’s something I’ve been meaning to pull together for a while: to mark the two-year anniversary of completing Old enough to know (we’re never letting go) (or Oetk for short) and kicking off the Merlyn Boys multiverse, below is a chronology of the various entries in the flagship series. This is NOT meant as a recommended reading order, particularly for new readers (I would still advise reading Oetk in its entirety first); rather, it’s more of a reference or something fun to try for a reread, if you don’t mind toggling back-and-forth between fics and chapters to read the selections in timeline order.
Selections from Oetk are listed by chapter number and section subtitle, though each chapter is only linked the first time it’s listed--there may be separate ficlets set between scenes in the same chapter, so I’d recommend keeping the Oetk chapter open for ease of access to switch back. Entries posted in the sequel collection (We can) turn this world inside out are listed by ficlet title. All titles link directly to the AO3 versions, but Tumblr links are included where available.

Cardi B, American Rapper
Cardi B is an American rapper, songwriter, television personality, and actress. Born and raised in The Bronx, New York City, she first attracted attention for discussing her career as a stripper on social media. She released her debut single, "Bodak Yellow", in June 2017, which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the second female rapper to top the chart with a solo single (after Lauryn Hill in 1998), as well as the first artist of Dominican descent to do so. Cardi's debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, broke several streaming records, and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Cardi B has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards, winning one for Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy. She has also won three American Music Awards, six BET Hip Hop Awards, and four Billboard Music Awards. Time magazine named Cardi B one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. In 2019, Forbes magazine estimated her net worth at $8 million.
Early life
Belcalis Almanzar was born on October 11, 1992, in The Bronx borough of New York City. She is of Dominican and Trinidadian descent. Many sources report her birth year as 1993, but Cardi B has stated that she used a fake ID to sign up for Facebook when she was 16, and thus her birth year on the social networking site is 1992. She has an older sister, Hennessy Carolina. Almanzar attended Renaissance High School for Musical Theater & Technology, a public school in the Castle Hill neighborhood of The Bronx.
Career
2010–2017: Career beginnings and Love & Hip Hop
In March 2015, Cardi B joined the cast of the sixth season of the reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York. That same year, she released two mixtapes—Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2—and made her commercial debut with the single "Cheap Ass Weed", which peaked at number 43 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In November 2016, she released the single "Red Barz", which peaked at number 90 on the same chart.
2017–present: Bodak Yellow and Invasion of Privacy
On June 16, 2017, Cardi B released her commercial debut single, "Bodak Yellow", which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song's success made her the first female rapper to have a number-one single on the chart without any featured artists since Lauryn Hill in 1998, as well as the first artist of Dominican descent to do so. She became the fifth female rapper to top the Hot 100 with a solo output, following Lauryn Hill, Lil' Kim, Shawnna, and Iggy Azalea. "Bodak Yellow" was included on Cardi B's debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album broke multiple streaming records and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In January 2019, Cardi B co-hosted Saturday Night Live, becoming the first woman of color to solo-host the show. In April, she released the single "Money", which peaked at number 13 on the Hot 100. The following month, she released her second single, "Press". In June, she was featured on Maroon 5's single "Girls Like You", which peaked at number one on the Hot 100, making Cardi B the only woman with five top-ten singles in a calendar year.
In February 2020, Cardi B won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album at the 62nd annual ceremony, making her the first female solo artist to win the award. In April, she released the single "WAP", featuring Megan Thee Stallion, which debuted at number one on the Hot 100, making her the only female rapper with two number-one singles on the chart as a lead artist. In September, she released the single "Bartier Cardi", featuring 21 Savage, which peaked at number 14 on the Hot 100.
In January 2021, Cardi B was featured on Megan Thee Stallion's single "Savage", which debuted at number one on the Hot 100, making Cardi B the only female rapper with three number-one singles on the chart as a lead artist.
Influences
Cardi B has cited Biggie Smalls, Lauryn Hill, Remy Ma, Missy Elliott, and Lil' Kim as her biggest influences.
Musical style
Cardi B's music is a mix of genres, including hip hop, Latin music, trap, and R&B. Her rapping is distinctive for its heavy use of New York City slang and African-American Vernacular English.
Personal life
In September 2017, Cardi B announced her engagement to American rapper Offset, member of the hip hop trio Migos. The couple married in secret in September 2017. In July 2018, Cardi B gave birth to their daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
In December 2018, Cardi B plead guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a fight at a New York strip club in August 2018. The charges were for reckless endangerment and assault, to which she agreed to a plea deal that would see her avoid jail time.
In April 2019, Cardi B announced that she and Offset had split up. The couple reunited in January 2020.
In May 2020, She filed for divorce from Offset, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was not finalized as of December 2020.

AA7 Speculation Post: 2021 Edition
So I did one of these back in August, claiming that it was likely we’d get an AA7 announcement sometime in September for the Tokyo Game Show. Obviously it was wrong. So I am doing ANOTHER ONE, because I apparently like publicly being proven wrong?
This will be shorter than the last one because I exhausted most of my material on the first one, and also there’s less material. There is, however, SOME new stuff we’ve learned since August. ... And I was going to make a post in November but completely forgot, so consider this a starting point for the year. I’ll be covering the leaks, in general terms, and theorizing when we will be getting announcements/releases.
The rest will be under the cut so as not to burden everyone with my ramblings.
The Capcom Leaks
First things first, a disclaimer: this information was leaked through a hack which was highly illegal and compromised the personal information of many former and current Capcom employees, and therefore, I do not condone the methods through which this information was obtained and will not provide any guidance as to how to obtain this information, nor have I sought it out myself. However, I will still talk about then in general terms, because the information is out there already, and the information I am discussing will not compromise any personal information.
In summary: early this November, the hacker group Ragnar Locker managed to hack into Capcom’s databases somehow and retrieved 1 TB of information from the company; this includes a bit of information on ace attorney, which was leaked in mid-November after the group demanded a ransom and, presumably, Capcom didn’t pay up.
The two major ace attorney reveals that came from this are as follows: the announcement of a DGS/DGS2 port for the nintendo switch, steam, and ps4 with an English translation, and a calendar for the development and release of this port along with... ace attorney 7.
It’s highly likely that this information was real, given the level detail and the fact that Capcom confirmed some of their information was leaked, essentially confirming that AA7 either is or once was in development -- more news about this than we’ve had in a long time! But what does it mean and when can we expect it? Let’s take a closer look at the calendar.
The Calendar
Unfortunately, this little thing happened in between the creation of this calendar and it being leaked, called “a global pandemic” or something like that, so this calendar is almost certainly behind.
But what did it say? I lost track of the original, but I did find a roughly translated version someone made (from this post which summarizes some of the stuff in the leaks):
So... what does this mean? First, let’s remember two things: one, this calendar was made pre-COVID and things were definitely pushed back. And two, the Japanese fiscal year starts April 1st, meaning that FY2021 starts in April. This means that as of writing this, we are technically in FY2020 Q4 - where, if we were on track, would be nearing the end of DGS1&2 port production and midway through AA7′s production. (We are almost definitely not on track.)
The pandemic started hitting Japan around April 2020, I believe, so that would be in FY2020 Q1. The DGS ports seem fairly unaffected, considering it’s later in production, and also, the DGS games are already complete, so most of the work would be on translating and adapting the games for modern consoles, rather than starting completely at scratch like AA7. AA7 is a little trickier: it was still in the prototype/pre-production stage, most likely, when the pandemic hit. I’m not tooootally sure what that means because I’m not a game developer, but it’s quite possible that this meant it took a serious hit. Given that there didn’t seem to be a lot of other AA7 data leaked, including in a large schedule of releases for Capcom later, there is the possibility that AA7 ended up being scrapped owing to the pandemic or other extenuating circumstances... but I don’t believe that’s likely, with the 20th anniversary coming up. We’ll see.
Another thing of note is that the name “AA7″ is temporary. Here in the English-speaking world that isn’t a big deal because all the AA games have random titles (like “Justice for All” and “Trials and Tribulations”...) but in Japan, they’re referred to simply with their numbers (GS2, GS3, etc. standing for Gyakuten Saiban 2, Gyakuten Saiban 3). The fact that “Gyakuten Saiban 7″ is a temporary name could possibly mean that what we are getting is not another mainline game.
However, again, there’s not really anything to support either of these things. I’m just bringing up random possibilities to cover my bases; but personally I think it’s likely that it is another mainline game, and that it is still in development. If we hear absolutely nothing about AA7 for all of 2021, though... then perhaps not.
Now... obviously, this calendar was pushed back. If we’re in 2020Q4 right now, then by the calendar DGS1&2 is hypothetically going to be released in about three-six months, and there has been absolutely no word on that so far. If this calendar were still being followed, we’d have AA7 on sale in Q3 of 2021 -- meaning October-December 2021, possibly in October for the 20th anniversary of the series, which would be super cool. ... but I doubt that will happen now.
So then, when are we getting the games?
I haven’t seen actual evidence of it, but rumour is that they’re pushing back DGS1&2 for a July release and an April announcement, giving three months between announcement - release. This is a shorter period than the most recent trilogy switch/ps4/pc/xbox release, which was announced in September 2018 and released February 2019 in Japan, a five month waiting period.
When we English-speaking players will get the duology is unknown, too -- the trilogy rereleases took a month and a half before they were released in English, despite already having been translated and the original released in Japan coming with an English language option. (No idea what was up with that!) The duology released in Japan reportedly will have an English option from the outset, though the English released version will not have the Japanese option because of copyright issues surrounding Sherlock Holmes -- sorry, I mean, Herlock Sholmes. Still, we should expect a few months following the Japanese release before we are able to play it ourselves. Same goes with the hypothetical AA7, which seems to typically be around three months following the Japanese release for an English release.
As for when we can expect AA7′s announcement... to the extent of my knowledge, the shortest announcement-release period for a game was Spirit of Justice, announced in September 2015 and released in Japan in June 2016, a period of nine months. Usually it takes longer. Assuming that there’s still that six-month gap between the DGS duology release and the AA7 release, we could hypothetically have AA7 in early 2022, pushed back a quarter, and if the announcement comes nine months ahead... it lines up pretty nicely with an April announcement. If we’re having a DGS announcement in April as rumoured, it would make sense to tie in the AA7 announcement to that as well.
How will they be announced? ... I’m not sure. TGS back in September would have been the most opportune time for an announcement, but I have the feeling that owing to our good friend the pandemic, they didn’t have enough to show for either the ports or AA7 back then and so opted not to show anything. If these games are for the Switch, they could be announced in a Nintendo Direct. Or they could be announced in a Famitsu magazine with trailers released later outside of any other event. Honestly I don’t really know for this part.
Overall, though? This is the upcoming 20th anniversary of the series. I’d be surprised if we ended up not getting anything. Despite the pandemic likely pushing everything back, I think it’s highly likely we’ll get some big ace attorney news soon, even if it’s not quite in time for the anniversary -- of course, the safety and health of the employees comes first, so a bit of a delay will be just fine.
TL;DR: I’m theorizing we’ll have DGS port/ AA7 announcements around this April, with DGS being released around July and AA7 being released late 2021/early 2022, with a few months delay for the English versions.
#ace attorney#aa7 speculation#this one's short but once we get an idea on concept I plan to go wild on theorizing

My new revised Fruits Basket character ages post
First: I am a massive nerd. I’ve been studying how old the Fruits Basket characters are for over a decade now. I’ve gotten things wrong and people have passed me additional information, so I’m always refining it.
Second: the characters don’t really have birthdays because it’s not important to the story. If it mattered, then we’d know the birthdays.
So, what I’ve put together is a mixture of canon ages, calculations based on relative ages, knowledge of Japanese culture, and a source that may or may not actually be canon, the 2001 Fruits Basket character book. As a source of character data, it has not been outright disowned by Natsuki Takaya, which is good, because the western zodiac signs given in that book are a crucial point in calculating these ages.
So, let’s just run through the birth years of the major characters, oldest to youngest and then go on to explanations:
1971 (Year of the Pig) - Hatori, Shigure, Ayame
1972 or 1973 (Rat or Ox) - Kureno
1976, 1977, or 1978 (Dragon, Snake, Horse) - Ritsu
1978 or 1979 (Horse or Sheep) - Akito
1980 (Monkey) - Kagura
1981 or 1982 (Rooster or Dog) - Rin
1982 (Dog) - Arisa, Tohru, Yuki
1982 or 1983 (Dog or Pig) - Saki
1983 (Pig) - Kyo, Haru
1984 (Rat) - Momiji
1987 (Rabbit) - Kisa, Hiro
I go into tiresome detail below the fold:
First of all, some base principles. Chinese zodiac years in Japan do not follow the lunar new year (typically in late January or February), but instead the calendar year. In Japan, December 31, 2019 was the last day of the year of the pig, January 1, 2020 was the first day of the year of the rat, whereas the year of the rat was not recognized in China until January 25, 2020.
Second, the Japanese school system: the school year starts in the beginning of April. Young children start first grade the year that they are six on April 1st. Thus, the first grade students that started in April 2020 will have been born from April 2013 through March 2014. Elementary school lasts six years. The kids start middle school when they turn twelve, then high school when they turn 15. By the time they graduate from high school, they will have all turned 18 (there can be exceptions, and one of those is applicable to this discussion, so stay tuned).
So: the Mabudachi trio. They were in the same school year together, and they were all born in the year 1971. We know this because Tohru mentions that Hatori is 27 years old in spring 1999, while Shigure is 28 in fall of 1999. According to the 2001 character book, Hatori is a Cancer, Shigure a Scorpio, and Ayame a Sagittarius. So, Hatori was born June/July 1971, Shigure October/November, and Ayame November/December. They are all year of the pig, they started elementary school in April 1978 and graduated high school in March 1990.
Kureno: tells Uo he’s 26 years old in the summer of 1999: he’s either born in the early part of 1973 or the later part of 1972. I prefer to assume the former. Kureno had not been introduced by the time the character book had been published, so we don’t know his western zodiac sign.
Ritsu: The character we know the least about, and that includes age. All we know is that they’re several years younger than their four older cousins, and they’re older that Akito, who is the series character they are most similar in age to. Unhelpfully, their western zodiac sign is Capricorn, meaning they could be born in December or January. Based on relative ages, I think the likeliest birth years for Ritsu are December 1976/January 1977, but they might be year younger than that.
Akito: While Akito’s exact age is not given, we know that they’re between Ritsu and Kagura in age. Being born in 1978 would make them 20 at the start of the series, and I think it is implied that Akito is legally an adult, which was 20 years ol at the time the series was published (legal adulthood is now 18 in Japan). Akito is a Cancer, so approximately June/July 1978.
Kagura is said by Yuki to be two years older than them. She’s a Cancer as well, so she was born June/July 1980.
Rin is the other zodiac member who had not been introduced at the time of the character book, so we don’t have a western sign for her, either. We do have a school year, however: she’s one year ahead of Tohru & co. (Kagura mentions accepting Rin’s graduation certificate on her behalf). Rin was thus born sometime from April 1981 through March 1982.
That brings us to Tohru, Yuki, Kyo, Arisa and Saki. Tohru mentions in the very first chapter that she’s year of the dog. She’s also a Taurus, so she was born in Late April or early May 1982.Yuki is a Virgo, so his birthday is late August or early September 1982. Yuki is said to be 10 years younger than Ayame--given that Yuki’s birthday is earlier in the year, that means Ayame would indeed have been 10 when Yuki was born, turning 11 a couple of months later.. Kyo (as mentioned in a 4koma comic published near the start of the series) is year of the pig. As he’s Capricorn, that means his birthday is early January 1983, thus making him the only character whose birthday we can narrow down to one month in one year.
Now Saki and Arisa represent a puzzle for us. First of all, Arisa is an Aquarius, which means a January/February birthdate. Given that she’s in the same school year as her friends, that would imply being born in January/February 1983. However, that contradicts one piece of information. When she finds out, in the summer of 1999, that Kureno is 26, she thinks “nine years age difference,” implying she is seventeen at the time, rather than the sixteen she would be if she were born in 1983. But let’s not forget that Arisa was a delinquent. It’s a very plausible assumption that Arisa could have been held back a year at some point because of her spotty school performance. So, I choose to go with the assumption that Arisa was born in January/February 1982, making her the oldest of her friends instead of the youngest. Finally, there’s Saki, who is an Aries, meaning that her birthdate in in March or April. And that’s when the school cutoff date is. So, she’s either March 1983 or April 1982. I choose to believe the latter simply for the sake of probability: Aries has more April days than March days. So, by my reckoning, the birth order of the 1-D kids are: Arisa first, then Saki, Tohru, Yuki, with Kyo being the baby of the group.
Haru and Momiji are one year behind Tohru and company in school. Haru is yet another Cancer, meaning he was born in June/July 1983. Momiji is a Pisces, so that puts him at February/March 1984.
Finally, the youngest two. Kisa is three years behind Momij and Haru in school. Like Momiji, she’s also a Pisces, meaning she was born in February/March 1987. Hiro, a Leo, is only five months younger being born in July/August 1987, but since that’s after the April cutoff date, he’s one year behind her in school.
Is some of this information incorrect? Almost definitely--I’ve been refining my character age list for a long time, revising it as find new data. And if the western zodiac signs are invalid, then most of this information is even more worthless than appears at first glance.
But it’s been fun putting it together. I welcome other researchers to make discoveries that others have so far missed.

explanations for the dates are under the cut!
Things to keep in mind:
The B/C-plots, for the most part, are not included in the calculation of the times here, because they rarely have the same number of days as the A-plot.
I didn’t take weekends into consideration unless otherwise noted. There is a weekend squad, but we know that the regular detectives also sometimes work weekends (enough so that on more than one occasion, Holt has rewarded them with “weekends off”).
Time-stamps within the episode are used as guidelines, but not always as the rule, unless there is a specific number of days given.
7x01-early 7x06 all have to happen in June so that they can start The Amy Way in July. Please refer to 7x06 for the explanation for the dates on these episodes.
Season 6 Finale: 5/8-5/15/2019
Has to start and end on a Wednesday; two or more weeks must pass until 7x02.
7x01: 6/6/2019
As per Amy's period in Trying, it has to be at the beginning of the month.
Continuity: Since patrol cops spend “6 months on the same beat,” which Holt is still doing in December, assume that when Debbie says it’s his “first week on the job,” she means his current beat.
Continuity: her period technically is supposed to start somewhere between 6/2 and 6/7. Assume when she says it’s “late,” she means by just a few days. After all, for the July calendar to be accurate, it can’t be late by more than a week.
7x02: 6/7-6/10/2019
Day 1 – cold open // Day 2 – they meet Cpt. Kim // Day 3 – Party // Day 4 – last scene
Kim got an “email from two weeks ago” from Wunch. Cold-open is on 6/7, a Friday (because Rosa has the weekend off and, therefore, wouldn’t be there to meet Wunch on Day 2 of the episode). The timestamp on the last scene—Day 4—says that it's a Monday.
7x03: 6/18-6/27/2019
Day 1, 6/18 - cold open
Day 2, 6/19 - visit Pimento’s doctor; Pimento spends the night at Charles’s
Day 3, 6/20 - HR seminar + Pimento in hospital
Day 10: “One Week Later” from Day 3.
Per the cold-open, Amy is ovulating during this episode. Also, Jimmy Jabs are on 6/21.
Continuity: The Masked Singer finale/premiere dates don’t make sense. But the contestant they mentioned didn’t even exist in season 1 of TMS, so it’s excusable.
Continuity: The last scene takes place during “Trying.” Roll with it.
7x04: 6/21/2019
14 days since Rosa last took a vacation—7x02—and a Friday because Amy skips a seminar that was probably wasn’t scheduled for a weekend.
Continuity: Rosa and Jocelyn had apparently been dating “a year” at this point. It was probably shorter than that.
Continuity: This episode most likely takes place before Trying: Jake mentions Amy being more, erm, adventurous now that they’re trying to conceive, and that doesn’t really fit in with the overly-scheduled sex UD-ing that was happening from July 2019 and onwards. Plus, the stress/potential injury that such a competition would bring definitely doesn’t fit in with The Amy Way.
7x05: 6/22-6/23/2019
Debbie steals the cocaine at end of 7x04; assume 7x05 is the day after. The final scene is the day after the rest of the episode.
Continuity: They mention Debbie’s journals from “this year,” and specify that they were written on “August 21.” Assume this means August 2018.
7x06: 6/24/19 - late January 2020
On the calendars in the war room, “Menstruation” lasts about five days and starts around the 4th of every month; “Ovulation” starts around the 15th of every month and lasts about a week. Amy presumably took a pregnancy test at the very end of every month—not only were these scenes always followed by calendar flips, but she would have to take the tests at least two weeks after ovulation but before she got her period.
The calendar invites/The Jake Way happen in June—so Amy still has to be ovulating at the start of the episode—because they start The Amy Way in July.
The Amy Way fails for the last time in December. The pregnancy test she takes before Hitchcock announces that his girlfriend is pregnant was late December (around 12/30). The next test she would take—the last scene in the episode—would be late January (around 1/30).
Assuming it isn’t a false positive (which is unlikely, considering her doctor would have double-checked this before putting her on fertility medication), the earliest she can get pregnant would be mid-February.
7x07: lasts about a week and ends mid-March 2020.
Has to be after 2/14 but before 4/12, based on Holt’s uniform changes in Valloweaster.
It’s very likely that Amy’s just a few weeks pregnant here since she wasn’t suspicious at all until her doctor brought it up; if the hormones messed up her cycle a bit and she got pregnant mid to late-February, she was 3-4 weeks pregnant in this episode and wouldn’t have noticed until taking the test.
Continuity: I’m assuming that the “Ebola Doctor” was Craig Spencer. He contracted the virus in 2014, so “six years ago” makes sense.
7x08: 3/27-3/30/2020.
Since it’s Holt’s first day back, this episode is relatively soon after 7x07, but with a week or two in between to account for paperwork and official promotion procedures.
Day 1: Friday (The bachelor’s party is over the weekend)
Day 2: Saturday (heist)
Judy’s friends were clearly arrested at nighttime, and that + the change of clothing indicates that Jake and the Judy’s had to have come home the next day.
Day 3: Sunday (Jake comes home)
Day 4: Monday (last scene)
Continuity: The screen on the computer that one of Judy’s men hacks into says “Last Login: March 27 2015.″ Since this episode obviously takes place in 2020, just ignore that.
7x09: ~4/10/2020
Earlier than June—Terry’s kids are still in school (Spring Semester). Also probably(?) a Friday, since Terry’s kids have a concert and it’s unlikely they’ll have one in the middle of the week.
The Friday before Easter (7x11) is April 10.
7x10: Mid-May 2020 (cold open), ~6/17/2020, 6/26/2020-6/27/2020
Cold-Open: pregnancy reveal and end of 1st trimester.
Day 2: Jake tells his father that they’re having a sex-reveal party “Next Friday,” indicating two Fridays after this day. Therefore, this conversation happened around June 17, 2020 (The Wednesday that is approximately 18 weeks from mid-February).
Day 3: Friday, Day of the party (June 26)
Day 4: Amy finds out; day after Day 3 (June 27)
Continuity: The entirety of 7x11 takes place before this one.
7x11: 10/31/19, 2/14/20, and 4/12-4/13/2020
7x12: Day 1-Day 3, Mid-8/2020
Day 1: Cold Open
Day 2: find cheddar
Day 3: B- and C-plots end
Shakespeare in the Park is usually held in Prospect Park over the summer. Halfway between 7x10 and 7x13 is the end of August; I made it mid-August so it’s still technically “Summer.”
Continuity: Amy’s only 6 months pregnant in this episode and her baby shower is the weekend after. However, in season 5, Gina also had her baby shower at around 5/6 months, so this isn’t unusual for these characters. Plus, this is Amy we’re talking about—she probably had a registry ready to go within days of finding out about the pregnancy.
7x13: Day 1, late-10/2020.
The elevator expiry is listed as 12/20/2020 and it was inspected “4 months ago.” elevators in New York are inspected every 6 months, which means that the last inspection was 6/20/2020 and it is now (mid to late-)October.
Later in the month (10/20/2020* or later) matches up with Amy getting pregnant in mid-February: her due-date would be mid-November, and it makes sense for her to start maternity leave about 3 weeks beforehand.
Continuity: Amy going on leave so early explains why she didn’t have a maternity bag stashed somewhere in the precinct—we all know that she would have had one had she been working right up to her due date. Also, although Amy’s FOMOW would make her want to stay at the precinct right up until she gave birth, if her doctor recommended her to take rest earlier (which is likely, given how stressful/strenuous her job is…), she would have followed those orders properly.
Thank you to @feeisamarshmallow for talking through this with me!
* baby Mac could definitely be either a Libra or a Scorpio :)
