Day 3 - 03/03/21. Early starts

The title pretty much sums up today -- I’m feeling a lot calmer. I managed to get on top of some of the work things I was letting slip yesterday, and I think as long as I start relatively early again tomorrow, I should be okay. Just got to keep the foot on the pedal this week. I can do it.

Also, I played Among Us with the product team and feel I was slightly over competitive, so, uh, oops. Bit cringe, but I’d best not overthink it.

I’m going to go for a run with W in the morning, then call him for a minidate in the evening, and H has a move-in date for their flat next week! Now I just need to figure out how I’m going to get some photos printed for Gdad’s birthday in time, and I’ll be doing pretty well in the friends and family arena too.

Novelwise, today I hit 8.05k. We are on a roll! I am already thinking of some fairly major changes I may need to make in edits, but for now the focus is on keeping up with one chapter a day and getting this first draft bashed out. I’ve always been better at editing than drafting anyway. 

Overall, I think today’s report has been a pretty dry one, but it’s been that sort of day. I didn’t leave the house again today, which isn’t great. Definitely will be going out tomorrow though. Last day at work before a long weekend - I’m on annual leave on Friday!

Hopefully tomorrow’s update shall be a little more interesting.

A lot of people have a hard time reading Tolkien, especially if they come in expecting a modern novel. What he wrote isn't a novel, it's an epic arranged novelwise.

Someonr calling LotR bad storytelling on grounds of pacing is like saying Austen's heroines are unrealistic because they didn't all just go out and get jobs. They're missing the point so hard it's almost funny.

Hello, Neil! I hope you and yours are doing well! These are difficult times... I had a friend recently who said that Tolkien was not a good storyteller, based on pacing mostly. I understand that some writers are not everyone's cup of tea, but I felt the need to defend the story and the teller as LotR is dear to me. I wrote a heartfelt response--probably a bit dramatic. But I was wondering how you might have responded to that take on Tolkien, being a storyteller yourself. Best wishes!

My response? To someone who told me Tolkien was not a good storyteller? It's the same response I'd give to someone who told me that Jane Austen couldn't write women, or that Tom Lehrer had a problem with making things rhyme. I'd smile at them, and say something along the lines of "bless your heart" or even "that's nice; thank you for letting me know you think that," and then probably never think of them again.

Question for fans that have read the IT book

What do you headcanon Novelwise (Novel Pennywise) to sound like? I love Tim’s Penny and Bill’s Penny but they sound nothing like the book described. Novelwise in general is like a fusion of both Tim and Bill’s Pennywise personality and appearance wise, so the film versions just sliced Novelwise in half and made two separate Pennywises. So we still to this day don’t have a 100% accurate film adaption of the Pennywise we saw in the book.

Point is, in the book, when IT talks to Georgie it is described as having a “pleasant, perfectly reasonable voice” when taunting Beverly in the sink it’s described as “gutterual and ancient” to taunting Audra sounding “Sly and sinister”

So it’s voice changes a lot depending on the situation.

So when you read the book, what did you imagine our Eater Of Worlds to sound like? If you have a certain actor for reference please tell me and maybe send me a example clip so I can hear what you imagined him to sound like.

I read the book after I saw the miniseries and before the first movie came out but finished after chapter 2 released but I didn’t really imagine any voices, just visualizing the scenes in my head.

Novelwise needs more love

Don’t get me wrong. I ADORE Bill’s Pennywise. He’s my 6 foot child eating shapeshifting baby that I shall love forever and ever. He is my squishy and he shall be mine 💖

But as I started reading the IT novel in preparation for the first IT movie I can’t help but love Book Pennywise and I don’t think he gets enough love.

Book Pennywise is like a fusion of 1990 Penny, and 2017/19 Penny. Book Pennywise has that older clown guy vibe that MiniseriesWise has. That old clown that would probably be smoking in costume when he’s not entertaining. Giving absolutely zero fucks. But at the same time he can be chaotic like FilmWise. Book Pennywise talks a bit closer to MiniseriesWise but also has moments where he does ITs twisted version of the “peperment twist” by having what I can only describe as the most terrifying 100% purposeful seizure. Book Pennywise is SINISTER! You wanna know one of the events that almost made Mike call the losers? Pennywise broke a toddlers BACK and the mother found the bathroom in shambles and the toddler’s body sticking out of the toilet. The mother claims she heard laughing....LAUGHING!

But that’s not even the best part, no my simple little fellow IT fans.. the reason Novelwise has to be my 2nd favorite Pennywise is......

He’s a fucking sailor....

Pennywise curses in the book.... And I don’t think you understand how much I fucking love this....

Pennywise turns into a giant during his encounter with Adult Richie in the book and instead of taunting his sexuality or singing. This Pennywise pokes Richie point blank in the EYE. Cheerfully threatens to point as his “pecker” and give him prostate cancer, and threatens to “Eat him right the fuck up”

During the Mrs Kersh scene Pennywise turns into this Mrs Kersh Alvin Marsh fusion and goes on this very vile monologue as Alvin reavealing that Alvin physically abused Beverly in her childhood cause he wanted to “Fuck her” and goes really into detail. Then once it turns back into Its clown form IT tells Beverly ITs the last of a dying race and came to earth to “Rape the men and rob the women....and to learn the peppermint twist!” Cue seizure dance..

And probably my favorite moment...The library scene....

We all remember the Miniseries version of that scene.... right?

Well in the book Pennywise “Gleefully” announces to Ben to “Come on up you fat little fuck!” Then turns into Dracula and taunts Ben about Stan’s death....

In short, Pennywise in the book is a sinister sadistic old man with a humongous god complex and is lazy as fuck, yet also very childish when he finds out he got beat by a bunch of kids. And he swears like no tomorrow and someone read the book just to experience this crazy clown for yourself and MAKE SOME FANFICS AND IMAGINES AND FANART WITH BOOK PENNYWISE!

(Note: I originally thought he swore both when the losers were kids and adults but looking back he seems to only really swear at them when they are adults which makes it even better cause it just shows how pissed he is that they beat him as little eleven year olds and now he has to wake up to kill them as adults)

2017/19 Pennywise is my chaotic baby but I also can’t help but love Book Pennywise and you should too! Read the book, make some Imagines and fanfics with Book Pennywise cause he needs more attention, he’s the original after all! Show some respect!

Pennywise Birthday Project Update

Ok, so lots of you might be like “update? Wait I don’t remember seeing anything...” so I’ll briefly fill you in. Long story short cause my grandma got me into astrology and since I’m frustrated only certain characters in the IT canon have official birthdays I’m taking matters into my own hands and am giving the major characters birthdays with accurate as possible Birthcharts.

Now Pennywise is tricky cause IT wasn’t born on earth. Of course I have no choice but to use earth for IT though.

Even though it might seem impossible to give IT/Pennywise a birthday and astrology chart I refuse to exclude IT cause it’s the title of the book and films and just as important as the losers! While we might not know if IT was born via uterus, everything has a beginning. Either it hatched from a egg, birthed by a woman, materialized out of thin air in Mid-World one day, 🤷🏼‍♀️, point is it was a day, year, month, and certain time when IT made its arrival in the universe so I’m giving it a birthday and no one is stopping me! Understood? Don’t give me that “it’s not human, how can you give it a birthday that’s Impossible—-“ If IT breathes, moves, has a consciousness it has a birthday, ok. Not sit down and shut up and don’t ever disrespect or question my astrology project or The Eater Of Worlds in general, got it?

Ok, point is I’m working on IT and I’m doing all three versions (since IT acts different in each due to different portrayals and scenes being cut, etc). I’m working on Novelwise first, and I’m playing with the birthtimes to get the house placements lined up. Haven’t chosen a time yet but it seems like our Eater Of Worlds is a PM baby!

Same might go for the other two, I kinda messed with Miniseries Penny and got IT as a PM baby also but I didn’t fully finish lining up the houses so I’ll get back to you on that if he’s still a PM baby.

And Film Penny (2017-19 Penny) I have down for two different possible birthdays so I gotta switch between the houses for the different birthdays to see which fits better so that might take me longer and I haven’t started on IT yet so can’t update what time at the moment.

Point is, IT was born somewhere at PM. So a day time baby! Kinda fits seeing how it’s a big ball of light

Pennywise Astrology Progress

Long story short, cause I’m crazy. I’m trying to give Pennywise a astrology birth chart. Since I’m doing all the others I’m of course doing him also. I can’t ignore him, he’s the title of the book and movies!

This means I’m giving him a birth time, everything! I’m playing around with Astrodentist and I’m a perfectionist so this might be a while. I’m limiting the years to 1606 - 1620 cause that was Wild West times on earth and the dark tower universe is like the Wild West but with magic and cyborgs mixed in so that’s the closest I’ll get. I’m doing Movie Penny first, once I finish him i can figure out how far apart I want Miniseries and Novelwise to be in age from Movie Pennywise and then I’ll proceed to do them also.

I see Movie Penny as either a Leo Sun Scorpio moon or a Scorpio Sun Leo Moon

My friend (I forgot how to tag people 😅) helped me with Miniseries Penny and we decided he’s a Capricorn Sun Leo Moon

And Novelwise is a Taurus Sun Leo moon

On a IT discord server I’m in, someone said they headcanon that the day Derry was founded could be Pennywise’s birthday since he’s kinda connected to the town. What interesting is that day is different depending on adaptation! The Paul Bunyan statue was make for the town anniversary. In the 2017 movie, one of Ben’s notes on his wall says the day Derry was Founded as February 25th so by that logic 2017 Pennywise could be a Pisces

As for Novelwise. The book says that the Paul Bunyan statue was unveiled May 13th (hey, Stephen King has a fear of the number 13 and the day the Losers kill Pennywise n the book is May 31st. The inverted numbers of 13!)

They cut the Paul Bunyan statue out of the miniseries version so we don’t have much to go on, BUT! I found something interesting——Paul Bunyan is a actual statue and there is one in Bangor Maine. That was created February 12th! So maybe that could be Miniseries Penny’s birthday?

But getting exact matching chart placements for those particular days will be even trickier. I unfortunately crossed out Pisces and February 25th for Movie Pennywise cause of not accurate enough planet placements unfortunately.

but either way, I hope everyone is intrigued to see what I come up with (if I ever finish) then we can celebrate Pennywise’s birthday!
