I absolutely LOVE Jack Black to bits. Dude has a special place in my heart.

But this is NOT Steve.

I'm sorry, but I just can't accept Steve getting whitewashed in an official piece of media of this franchise. Steve has been whitewashed enough number of times in the fandom, but this is just abhorrent.

I'm (not) sorry but Jack Black is NOT Steve. Steve is not supposed to be a white dude with a long beard. Why did they have to whitewash him it's so dumb. Idc if Jack Black is a popular actor he's not Steve if he just has a blue shirt on. They really didn't try at all to make Steve actually look like Steve.

it's been almost 5 years but the season 3 underground Russian bunker plotline still pisses me off.

who built this bunker? how did they do it without anyone finding out? how did no one notice a bunch of russian soldiers and scientists being smuggled into a small fucking town where everyone knows everyone?

the entire plot hinges on Dustin hearing a russian code being broadcasted. why are they broadcasting it? presumably it's just to signal regularly scheduled deliveries, so who is it for? is it being broadcast back to russia? why? why is the code barely a code? Why isn't it filled with military jargon?

why wasn't Dustin more terrified of pursuing things? why the hell did Steve "no I refuse to go burn down the tunnels until I've literally been knocked unconscious and forcibly brought there by idiot teenagers" Harrington agree to let Erica, a little girl he barely knows, get involved in something potentially dangerous? why did he even entertain Dustin's bullshit? in S2 he was terrified of the government finding out about Nancy wanting to whistleblow because it could get people killed, but he's totally fine with bringing some girl he's worked with for like a month, a teenage boy, and some 10 year old child into a potentially dangerous situation???

S3!Steve gets tortured and interrogated by soldiers and it's sort of played for laughs, but then in S4 Hopper basically gets an extended version of the same thing, but it's serious and dramatic and

i feel like i would forgive the whole plotline if the movie was just animated. like minecraft story mode. PLEASE.

everything would make so much more sense and overlooking literally everything else would be so much easier…

I can’t hold it in, I’ve been making a video that records all of my initial reactions and developing thoughts about the Minecraft movie and I totally got the detail about Steve being a old man in this story!! It still doesn’t explain why he doesn’t have the same hair OR beard as Steve throughout any of the time skips though :/

I'm gonna be real I didn't think the Minecraft movie was real until the trailer dropped. When people originally started talking about it I was skeptical and then every single piece of news was like "Jack Black is playing Steve" or "it's starring Jason Momoa" and so I just though oh they're joking. This is a "Morbin time" situation where everyone on the internet is pretending this thing is real as a joke. but no. It's real. and it does not look good.

minecraft “lore” idea: what if the villagers have last names based on their careers (i.e a librarian’s last name could be “Bookkeeper”). When Steve meets the villagers he decides he ought to have a last name, and following the villager custom of a last name being based on what you do, he calls himself Steve Minecraft.
