Just got back from the epithet erased book signing in Dallas! I had a lovely time and am super grateful to @jelloapocalypse for just giving me the Sylvie poster after I mentioned that I came all the way from Norway
#epithet erased#the look on jellos face when he heard I came from Norway#also got a ful body photo instead of just a selfie which was nice picture turned out good as well#apparently they only took paper money when selling merch stuff#which was a bit sad as I literally only had my bank card#I only had Norwegian paper which I don’t think they would’ve accepted

okay I severely misjudged spaghetti guy he’s actually just really cool
#okay so I came to this flat and he wasn’t here. greeted by a very dirty flat with shit all over the kitchen counters over cling film#I meet first my other flatmate who told me he stays in his room constantly bc of previous bad flatmates#has literally just a saucepan and some salt in the kitchen. so I’m like okay spaghetti guy potentially not great but could just be#how this guy is yknow#on Tuesday I get an email back saying he’s coming back from Norway tonight looking forward to seeing you feel free to use the kitchen sauces#rlly friendly message that I wasn’t expecting. I also didn’t know he’d been on a trip i just knew he wasn’t there bc his door was open#(to a REALLY nice room. multiple rlly nice plants (which he has little care labels for!!!) and it’s tidy and pretty#and he’s got a sheep teddy on the bed)#meanwhile I am in my own head bc I don’t wanna cook in the kitchen until I can clean it and I can’t clean it without moving his shit and#I haven’t seen him yet to talk abt it and I can’t bring myself to talk to him immediately bc I’m dying#and embarrassed as hell by how I’ve been cooking in my room with a microwave and air fryer (loud) and sneaking my shit out of the kitchen#but then yesterday I DO talk to him!! and he’s super friendly!! actually interested in having a conversation and Good at it.#and then he’s cooking and like. spaghetti burns but I’m not there for long and seems to be a mistake (he made the same thing for lunch today#and did Not burn the spaghetti) and is otherwise clearly competent bc the food smells Good and despite leaving a few things out it’s like#washed up stuff isn’t dirty and the sides are better despite still under cling film. more a case that he’s spread out than he’s messy#and now today we talked and i offered to hold onto some shit over summer bc complicated situation that boils down to he’s flying back home#and he cant take all his stuff and had to choose between chucking stuff/having literally nothing this weekend. like sleeping on the sofa etc#and then cleans the whole flat?? which I’m assuming a good chunk is his mess? but he did not need to do that. could’ve easily left#bc there are two people still living here who would’ve had to deal with it and he doesn’t know either at all#and THEN tonight we talk abt food which is fun bc we both ordered stuff. and he offers me some honeydew melon bc he’s been gorging himself#these past two days to finish it before it goes bad/he leaves which is also really sweet#and JUST NOW. I take my headphones out after finishing dinner and hear the sweetest fucking guitar#he plays the gentlest like dreamy sounding acoustic guitar I’ve heard in my life in his room (door closed by the time I leave)#this is actually just a really cool dude#now that the kitchens clear I’m gonna cook tomorrow and will probably offer him some bc otherwise he’s gonna be eating out all weekend#he has extra takeout for tomorrow night but might want smth Sunday#regardless I am just. huh??? left a bit stunned bc of the u turn my opinion of this guy has taken. bc my opinion of him was a reflection#of my discomfort moving to this weird dirty basement flat with two people I didn’t know#well. idk where to go from here. I think I’ll start by talking to him more this weekend. bc holy fucking shit.#luke.txt

hey *takes what was supposed to be just a visualization in case i ever wanted to draw overhallidays place in the future and then spends 4 hours on it
#📗 my post#🧯 overhalliday (s/i)#yeah ummm yeahn . hey . theres a lot in here let me divulge in the tags#hes supposed to live in like a town thats pretty Scrunched In with buildings kind of surrounding the place so the debug building behind#is supposed to mimic the back alley area that he uses for all his scraps && parts. really id imagine at some point he put a tarp over it#so metal doesnt rust && whatnot . but theres not really a way to do that i think in the sims#the bathroom being right where the stairs are is both a) bc i wrote that in a fic b) sometimes houses are dumb okay we cant all win#there isnt an operating table apparently?? so im using a lounge chair as a stand in and honestly it works well#really if i wanted to i wouldve added like soo much more clutter because he is. not the most organized#ftr i think like every sims bed has a headboard and he DOES NOT have that hes got a bed frame and a mattress that is IT!!!#^ not every sims one . the ones that dont talks abt...bed bugs. which . ew#and for the record also i think his place is only unique in the sense that you walk in and theres a workshop . exterior wise theres#probably like a bunchhh that look the same as youre walking down . all scrunched together#i actually donthave a set place in mind that he lives i just know its like. a Town#a town that doesnt have a hardware store . so he takes a train if he ever needs supplies & it takes abt 10 minutes to get to the city#so hes not like. Cut Off per se but the locals definitely know his deal enough#idk looking at it and imagining a bunch side by side makes me think of likee. like. norway? <- my biases it was like the 2nd thing i google#it would be nice to live by a bunch of water#but also im . i dont know anything abt architecture this very easily could read as somewhere in america or something like that#idk but in my head it snows a lot there thats like all i have thought out

the season to (not) be jolly
barcelona femeni x esmee brugts x reader
summary: you hated christmas, and your teammates figure out why
warnings: childhood neglect, trauma, angst, financial poverty, etc
the excitement rings through the barca locker room like electricity, bouncing off the walls and between your teammates.
the holiday break is just around the corner, only one training session and ninety minutes of football separating everyone from flights to faraway places like back home, home-cooked meals, and quality time with loved ones that only get to see them from the stands at important games.
it is a cheerful chaos—laughter echoing, jokes being thrown back and forth, and plans being laid out like promises.
"we’ll be in norway,” mapi grins, slinging her arm around ingrid as she sits beside her.
“ingrid’s parents already have the cabin ready. a real winter wonderland, i shall say.”
“it’ll be nice to be home,” ingrid adds softly, her smile as calm and steady as always.
you sit at your locker, head tilted down as you lace your boots, pretending to be engrossed in the task as their words float around you.
it feels safer to keep your eyes on your hands, watching how your fingers move—pull, tighten, tie. over and over again. anything to distract yourself from the sting in your chest.
you feel it every december. that heaviness. that punching ache in your ribs when people start talking about their families, their holiday traditions, and their childhood memories.
you can’t relate. you never could.
to your left, keira and lucy are chatting animatedly about spending christmas in england, lucy teasing ona about the inevitable cold since ona will be going with her. to your right, patri and claudia are arguing over who will get more gifts from their loved ones, both wearing matching grins as they playfully push on each other.
but you? you just exist in the in-between, silent, invisible.
the noise grows louder. the locker room feels smaller. your throat tightens, that familiar burn rising behind your eyes. you push it away. this is not the time to fall apart.
alexia’s voice cuts through the chatter again, light and teasing as she looks ahead at you.
“nina, you’ve been quiet. what about you? where are you headed this christmas?”
you freeze for half a second. it’s subtle enough to go unnoticed, but the question lingers in the air like a heavy fog. you glance up, forcing your expression into something neutral—something safe.
“nowhere special,” you say with a small shrug, trying to keep your voice steady.
“just staying here at home. might catch up on needed sleep without needing to wake up for training.”
“no plans with family?” mapi asks, brows furrowing slightly.
you hate that. you hate when people ask about your family. after leaving your home to live in paris, where you played for a season and a half with psg (before leaving when the barcelona offer came up in 2021), you stopped talking to your mother who wanted nothing to do with you.
your answer has never changed, and yet, every time it feels like a fresh wound being prodded.
“yeah,” you mutter, looking back down at your laces.
“just after christmas though.”
thankfully, mapi doesn’t press further. her attention shifts back to ingrid as she brings up the norwegian christmas markets, and you’re left to sink back into your silence, drowning in it.
you look over at the corner of the locker room to see esmee, your girlfriend, looking right at you. jana sits beside her, laughing about a joke sydney made while esmee notices the sadness in your eyes.
the look in your eyes can be hidden from the team, but you can’t hide it from esmee.
she notices—of course she does—because she knows you better than anyone, even after just eight months of being together. normally, you’re her sunshine, a steady source of warmth no matter what the day brings.
you’re the first to crack a joke after a tough training session, the one to steal food off her plate at team dinners just to see her roll her eyes, the one who sneaks kisses when no one’s looking and holds her like she’s the most precious thing in the world.
but now? now you’re quieter, smaller. you smile, but it doesn’t quite reach your eyes, and your laughter sounds hollow when it finally comes.
“i don’t have to go, you know,” she told you last week as you sit together on the couch, her thumb tracing gentle circles over the back of your hand.
“i can stay here with you.”
you shake your head almost immediately, forcing a smile as you press a kiss to her knuckles.
“no, es, you should go. your family wants to see you. they miss you.”
you don’t tell her the rest—that you don’t want her anywhere near the dark place that december always drags you into. she’s too bright, too good, to get caught up in the emptiness you feel during this time of year. so you push her away gently, telling her you’ll be fine, that you’ll call her every day and send pictures of maple– your cat— curled up at the foot of the bed.
esmee doesn’t look convinced. she squeezes your hand tighter, leaning her forehead against yours.
“you’re not fine,” she whispers, eyes searching yours.
“i am, esmee.” you say.
you’re just tired, you convince yourself. however, the words stick in your throat because you know she won’t believe them. this is the first december you’ve spent together, the first time she’s seen you like this, and it terrifies you—being vulnerable in front of someone you care about so much.
you’ve always hated christmas. as a kid, it was just another reminder of everything you didn’t have. no presents waiting under a tree. no stockings hung by the fire. no warm meals shared at a crowded table.
instead, you had an empty house, cold and quiet.
your mom always worked. always. christmas, birthdays, weekends—it didn’t matter. “we need the money,” she’d say coldly, pulling her coat on as she hurried out the door, leaving you behind.
sometimes, she’d forget it was even christmas until days later.
“we’ll celebrate next year,” she’d promise. but next year never came.
you can still remember what it felt like to see the other kids at your academy, showing off their shiny new boots, their expensive kits, their gear from nike or adidas. their parents would stand proudly by the sidelines, bundled up in warm coats, smiling as they cheered.
then there was you, wearing a pair of cleats one size too big—scuffed, worn, bought secondhand with the crumpled euro bills you’d earned from mowing lawns or shoveling snow after training each afternoon. you’d tuck your hands into the pockets of your thrift-store jacket to hide the holes in the seams.
your academy teammates didn’t know how lucky they were.
you hated them for it, sometimes. hated their laughter, their joy, their easy lives. mostly, you hated yourself for feeling like you didn’t belong. for being the girl who showed up every day with nothing to show for it but grit, raw talent, and determination.
now, years later, that feeling lingers.
you’ve worked hard—harder than anyone—to get here. to wear the barcelona crest on your chest. to play alongside some of the best players in the world. to prove to yourself, and to everyone else, that you deserve this.
no matter how much success you achieve, no matter how many goals you score or games you win, you can’t outrun the past.
christmas will always be a reminder of what you never had.
you pull your boots off, methodical and slow, as the locker room continues to cheer around you. your teammates don’t notice the way your shoulders slump or how you turn away slightly, shielding your face.
“hey,” a voice says quietly beside you. it’s aitana, sitting beside you since her locker is beside yours. her tone is softer than usual, like she’s noticed something.
“you okay?”
you nod quickly, too quickly.
“yeah. just tired.”
she doesn’t look convinced, but she doesn’t push. aitana never does. she just nods and goes back to her boots, letting the moment pass without making it heavier than it already is.
you’re grateful for that.
you finish changing, moving through the motions on autopilot, your mind elsewhere. the noise in the room feels muffled, like you’re underwater, and when you finally leave the locker room, stepping out into the cold december air in your new training gear, you inhale sharply—like you’ve been holding your breath all along.
the sun is already setting as you leave training hours later, streaks of orange and pink blending with the darkening sky. your breath comes out in clouds as you walk toward your car, hands stuffed deep into your coat pockets.
you stare at the horizon for a moment, watching the city lights flicker to life in the distance. it’s beautiful, you think absently. and yet, it makes you feel so small.
tomorrow, the break begins. your teammates along with your girlfriend will board flights, heading off to homes filled with warmth, love, and laughter.
and you? you’ll stay here. alone.
you’ve grown used to loneliness over the years. it’s familiar. like an old coat you can’t bring yourself to throw away.
that doesn’t mean it hurts any less.
you sit in your car for a long time before starting the engine, the radio playing faintly in the background. a christmas song—cheerful and bright—fills the silence, and you quickly shut it off, gripping the steering wheel tightly.
you hate christmas. you hate the way it makes you feel. like you’re still that little girl, watching the world through a window, longing for something you’ll never have.
turning on the radio, you hear, “walking around the christmas tr–” before slamming your fingers on the mute button. there was no christmas tree in your apartment, nothing in your space shows that it is even december.
not like alexia’s apartment that clearly shows that is is the holiday season. the scent of cinnamon candles and fresh pine greet esmee like a warm hug as she visits alexia.
soft music plays from a speaker in the corner, and the living room is an organized mess of wrapping paper, ribbon spools, and tape dispensers scattered across the coffee table.
“es!” mapi’s voice is the first to cut through the scene, grinning up from where she’s sitting on the floor, tape stuck to her sleeve.
“about time you showed up. come help me wrap ingrid’s gift before she figures out what it is.”
“you’re impossible,” ingrid mutters beside her, laughing as she ties a bow on someone else’s gift. maybe vicky’s since esmee saw the ipad that the younger girl asked for.
esmee smiles at the couple teasing eachother, kicking her shoes off and settling onto the floor, careful not to disrupt the organized chaos. across the room, olga – alexia’s girlfriend – sits on the couch beside alexia, scissors in hand as she trims the edges of wrapping paper, while salma sprawls nearby, half her attention on the gift she’s wrapping and half on her phone.
“is mine here?” esmee teases after a moment, eyes narrowing playfully at the pile of brightly wrapped boxes beside alexia.
“it’s already done,” alexia replies without looking up, focused on folding the paper perfectly around a large box.
“you’re not getting any sneak peeks until new year’s eve like everyone else.”
“como no,” esmee groans dramatically, earning a laugh from salma and mapi. she leans back on her hands, soaking in the cheerful atmosphere for a moment, but the weight in her chest pulls her down before she can fully enjoy it.
the smile fades from her face, and her gaze drops to her lap.
“what’s wrong?” alexia asks, finally noticing the shift in her demeanor.
esmee hesitates, chewing her bottom lip. “it’s... about y/n.”
the room quiets slightly, everyone’s attention turning toward her. mapi raises an eyebrow, already halfway to smirking as she leans into ingrid.
“trouble in paradise?”
“no, no,” esmee says quickly, shaking her head.
“it’s nothing like that.”
olga sets down her scissors, studying esmee carefully.
“then what’s wrong?”
esmee swallows hard, fiddling with the corner of a ribbon.
“i feel like... i need to stay in barcelona for the holidays. with y/n. she’s—she’s going to be alone.”
alexia frowns slightly, confused.
“no, she’s not. she told me she’s going to see her mom and family eventually.”
esmee’s heart sinks, her brows furrowing as she glances up at alexia. “that’s not true,” she says softly, shaking her head. “she hasn’t spoken to her family in nearly five years.”
silence falls over the room like a heavy blanket. alexia looks stunned, her brow creasing deeply as she processes esmee’s words. salma sets her phone down, staring in disbelief, while mapi and ingrid exchange quiet glances.
“she told you that?” alexia asks carefully, her voice softer now.
“yeah,” esmee nods, her voice steady but heavy with concern.
“she doesn’t want anyone to know. i think—i think she told you that lie so you wouldn’t feel bad for her. she hates christmas. she’s always hated it. i don’t know why, but i can assume that it has to do with her family.”
“joder,” mapi mutters under her breath, rubbing the back of her neck.
“y/n’s gonna be alone? she didn’t tell anyone?”
“she wouldn’t,” esmee says, guilt rising in her chest as she looks around at them.
“she acts like everything’s fine, but it’s not.”
ingrid exhales slowly, her face softening with quiet understanding. “we can’t just leave her like this,” she says firmly.
“esmee’s right—she shouldn’t be alone.”
“what do you suggest?” alexia asks, her voice sharper now, edged with determination.
“we go to her,” mapi says immediately, pushing herself to her feet as if the decision is already made.
“right now. if she won’t talk to us, we’ll make her.”
“she’s going to hate me,” esmee says quietly, worry flickering across her face as she stands, too.
“she doesn’t want anyone to know. she’s going to be so upset that i brought you all into this.”
alexia crosses the room in a few strides, stopping in front of esmee and placing a hand on her shoulder. her expression is calm but resolute, a quiet authority in the way she looks at her.
“she won’t be upset at you,” alexia says firmly. “i won’t let her be.”
esmee lets out a shaky breath, nodding slowly as the others begin to gather their things. the cheerful hum of the evening is gone now, replaced by a silent determination that hangs thick in the air. alexia is the first to head for the door, already pulling on her coat, and one by one, the others follow—mapi, ingrid, olga, salma.
as esmee pulls her own coat on, she sends up a silent hope that you will understand. she knows how fiercely you guard your heart, how much you hates people seeing the parts of yourself that are broken.
esmee also knows that you deserve more than an empty apartment and silence on christmas day.
back to you– the steam still lingers faintly in your bathroom, curling around the doorframe as you pad out into your apartment, feeling the lingering warmth of your everything shower settle into your skin. your matching red plaid pajamas feel soft and clean, clinging to you in that perfect way that only comes after freshly washed laundry.
you won’t admit to anyone that the red plaid feels a little festive—that maybe, on some level, you allowed yourself to indulge in something resembling the season.
your hair is pulled back in a loose, low braid, wisps escaping around your face, and your apartment is spotless. floors vacuumed, counters wiped down, blankets folded neatly on the couch. if you couldn’t have christmas, the least you could do was make sure the space felt fresh and ready for the new year. clean, organized, empty. just like you wanted it.
you hum quietly as you step into the kitchen, reaching for the bowl of fruit on the counter. you’d planned to snack a little while watching a movie tonight, something non-festive—maybe a thriller like friday the 13th– anything that didn’t mention families or magic or joy.
before your hands can reach the fruit bowl, there’s a knock at your door.
you frown slightly, the sound cutting through the quiet apartment like an unexpected jolt. you assume it’s esmee—she’d mentioned she might come by to say goodbye before she left for the netherlands in the morning.
“coming,” you call softly, feet shuffling toward the door.
when you swing it open, your breath catches in your chest.
standing in the hallway, crammed into the small space outside your apartment, are esmee, mapi, ingrid, alexia, salma, and olga. esmee stands closest to the door, just beside mapi, her expression tinged with worry that makes your stomach turn.
everyone else has the same look—soft, cautious, and far too knowing.
“what’s—” you start, forcing a smile to smooth over your features.
“what are you all doing here?”
“surprise?” mapi tries, her voice lighter than the rest, but even she falters when your eyes narrow slightly in confusion.
“can we come in?” alexia asks softly, her tone careful.
you nod slowly, stepping aside to let them file in one by one. salma gives you a small smile as she passes, and olga pulls you into a quick hug—her familiar warmth a brief comfort.
“it’s good to see you,” she says, and you force another smile, nodding.
“you too. it’s been a while.”
as the door clicks shut and you turn back to face them, the knot in your chest tightens. their expressions don’t match their usual energy—not the teasing, playful banter you’re used to. instead, they’re quiet, gentle. worried.
“is everything okay?” you ask, scanning the room as they settle awkwardly around your small living space. you go on sit on your grey colored sectional couch as everyone follows you.
alexia is the first to speak.
“y/n... are you really going to see your family this year?”
the question hits you like a punch to the gut. your heart drops, and your eyes immediately dart to esmee, who looks at you apologetically. you don’t even need to say it—your expression screams “did you tell them?”
esmee shifts slightly, opening her mouth to speak, but mapi cuts in before she can.
“she can’t save you from this conversation,” mapi says gently, though there’s no humor in her voice.
“we know you lied.”
you take a small step back, crossing your arms over your chest defensively. “i’m fine,” you say quickly, the words rushing out before you can think.
“i don’t have christmas plans, and that’s okay.”
“it’s not okay,” ingrid says firmly, her voice soft but resolute.
“y/n, it’s clearly not fine.”
you feel the walls closing in, your heart pounding in your chest. the room feels too small, the air too thick. flight or fight mode kicks in—you want to run, to get away from their prying eyes and gentle words that feel like they’re picking you apart piece by piece.
“there’s nothing wrong,” you stammer, shaking your head as you back toward the couch.
“i don’t know what you’re all talking about. i’m fine—”
“hey,” esmee’s voice cuts through the panic, soft but steady, and when you look at her, the tension eases ever so slightly.
“it’s okay. nobody here is judging you, okay? you’re safe. you’re not in trouble for lying to ale.”
her words ground you enough to sit down, curling into the corner of your couch. you hug your knees to your chest, wishing you could shrink into yourself, disappear completely.
you don’t want to be here, in this moment, with all their eyes on you.
“i just hate how everyone gets to have a good holiday except me,” you mumble, the words spilling out before you can stop them. your voice wavers, cracking slightly as the truth seeps through the cracks in your armor.
ingrid is the first to move, crossing the room to sit beside you. she doesn’t say anything—just wraps an arm around your shoulders, holding you gently. olga comes next, kneeling on the floor beside the couch and resting a hand on your arm.
“what do you mean by that?” olga asks softly, her voice a careful whisper.
alexia moves to sit in front of you, dropping to her knees so she can look up into your face. her expression is open and kind, patient in the way only alexia can be.
“what happened, y/n?”
you close your eyes tightly, your fingers digging into your knees as you try to fight back the sting of tears. you don’t want to tell them. you don’t want anyone to know. but the words are already there, clawing their way out, demanding to be heard.
“i never had christmas, my birthday afterwards did not seem important either..” you whisper finally, your voice so small it’s almost lost to the room.
“i don’t even know what the happy feeling is supposed to feel like.”
alexia’s brow furrows, and mapi leans forward, her voice quiet but gentle.
“can you explain?”
you take a shaky breath, the air trembling as it leaves your lungs.
“growing up... it was just me and my mom. we didn’t have money for christmas. no tree, no presents, nothing. she worked all the time—she had to. bills came first. even with that, she was never nice to me. she made it seem like i was asking for too much.”
your throat tightens, but you force yourself to keep going, to let it out.
“when i was in the academy, all the other kids would come back after christmas with new cleats, new gear, new jerseys. i’d still be in hand-me-downs from thrift stores. i’d use money i got from doing yard work to buy boots that were a size too big to make sure i could fit in them for a few seasons– because it was all i could afford.”
the room is silent as you speak, the weight of your words settling over everyone like a blanket. ingrid’s arm tightens around you, and olga gently rubs your arm as tears sting the corners of your eyes.
“i hated it,” you admit, your voice breaking.
“i hated watching everyone else have families, have traditions, have... love. i hated feeling like i did something wrong, like i wasn’t good enough to deserve it.”
you bury your face in your knees, unable to look at them. your shoulders shake slightly as you try to keep yourself together, but the truth is out now, raw and ugly, and you feel exposed in a way that terrifies you.
“you didn’t do anything wrong,” esmee says softly, sitting on the floor beside alexia now.
“none of that was your fault, y/n.”
you don’t respond, but the tears slip free, hot and silent against your skin. you feel alexia’s hand settle on your knee, grounding you, and ingrid presses a kiss to the side of your head.
“it’s not fair,” you whisper.
“it’s not fair that everyone else gets to be happy except me.”
“but you deserve to be happy, too,” alexia says gently, her voice firm with conviction.
“you deserve love, and joy, and traditions, just like everyone else.”
“we can’t change your childhood,” salma adds softly.
“but we can change this year and every year after this one.”
you lift your head slightly, looking at her through blurry eyes.
“what do you mean?”
“you’re not spending christmas alone,” ingrid says simply, brushing a tear from your cheek.
“none of us are going to let that happen.”
“you’ll come with me and olga,” alexia says.
“we’re having dinner with her family on christmas eve, and you’re coming. no arguments.”
“and before you say no,” olga adds quickly, smirking slightly, “it’s not a pity invite. it’s a ‘we want you there because we care about you’ invite.”
you look around the room, at all of them—esmee, alexia, mapi, ingrid, olga, salma. their faces are open, kind, and so full of love that it makes your chest ache.
“you don’t have to do this,” you say quietly, but esmee shakes her head.
“we want to,” she says softly.
“you’re not alone anymore, y/n. you have us now, you have me.”
something shifts in your chest at her words, the weight you’ve been carrying for years lifting
you don’t know what christmas will feel like this year, but maybe, just maybe, it won’t be so bad.
esmee shifts beside you, reaching for your hand, threading her fingers through yours as you lay your head on her chest. her touch is soft, steady, and when you glance at her, you see something unwavering in her eyes—love, determination, all of it laid bare.
“i’m staying in barcelona,” she says quietly, her voice gentle but firm.
your brows furrow immediately, and you sit up slightly.
“esmee, you don’t have to—”
“no,” she cuts you off, shaking her head with a small smile.
“i’ve already decided. my family is coming here instead on the day after christmas. we’ll celebrate together, and you’ll be with us.”
you open your mouth to protest again, the instinct to push her away rising, but before you can say anything, alexia’s voice chimes in, calm and final.
“again, that’s not up for debate,” she says softly, kneeling back onto the floor to look at you, a small smile tugging at her lips.
“you’re family to us, y/n. esmee’s family loves you just as much as we do. and that’s final.”
you glance back at esmee, your heart tightening, your walls cracking just a little more as her thumb rubs soothing circles over your knuckles.
“you’re not alone anymore,” she says again, her voice barely above a whisper.
“this year, you’ll have a real christmas. with me. with my family. with our family.”
you stare at her for a moment, overwhelmed by the weight of her words, by the love in her gaze that feels so foreign yet so familiar all at once.
"okay,” you whisper, your voice trembling slightly as the beginnings of a smile tug at your lips.
“okay.”
esmee leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your temple as alexia gives your knee one last reassuring squeeze. the rest of the room seems to exhale in relief, the energy softening into something warm and safe, like a blanket wrapping around you.
for the first time in years, you let yourself believe it.
you’re not alone.
and this year, christmas will be different.

Barcelona Femení x Child!Reader
Summary: Your sister takes you to work
"They are cool, si?"
You stomped your foot, watching as the bottom of your shoe lit up. You nodded. "Si." You stomped your foot again. "Cool."
Mapi beamed at you. She thought you looked super cool in your new light-up shoes and Barcelona jersey. A toy cat that looked suspiciously like Bagheera was clutched in your hand and you sucked in the ear almost absentmindedly.
"Hey," Came a soft voice from the bedroom," I thought we agreed on your normal shoes, elskling?"
"Pretty shoes." You pointed at the new light-up ones Mapi had given you, stamping for a third time to show Ingrid what you were talking about.
She gave Mapi a pointed look. "I told you not to buy those for her."
Mapi didn't even try to look apologetic. "They were cute. She is cute. It made sense."
"They're not broken in," Ingrid replied, busying herself with zipping up your jacket and sorting out the lopsided ponytail that Mapi had pulled your hair into. "Her feet will hurt later."
"She can take them off. We're on the pitch for most of the day. It's no big deal."
Ingrid rolled her eyes before lightly pinching your cheek. "Come on, elskling." She placed some comically large sunglasses on your face. "Let's get going."
●~●~●~●~
It hadn't exactly been planned - your long-term visit to Barcelona - but your parents had somehow won a cruise for two people that was non-refundable.
They had anguished over it for hours, looking to see if anyone could look after you but all your immediate family were too busy or unsuited to look after such a young child.
The answer came, however, in the form of your older sister - who routinely phoned home every other day and listened to your mother complaining about there being no one to watch you.
Ingrid had agreed instantly.
She didn't see you often - with her being in Spain all the time - and you were at the age that everything she did or said was exciting and interesting.
So, she flew out to Norway to get you and flew back out to Spain hours later.
Your first day in Spain was fun. Ingrid's girlfriend took you out shopping and to eat nice food and she even got you your special new light-up shoes.
"Elskling," Ingrid warned when she felt you kick the back of her seat again," Stop it."
"Makin' 'em pretty," You protested but she fixed you a stern look and passed over some goldfish crackers to keep you occupied on the drive to her work.
Ingrid's Mapi shoved a cap onto your head, moving it to cover your eyes before you were hoisted up into her arms.
You giggled. "Mapi!"
"Huh? What?" She teased," Did something happen?" She pushed your cap down again.
More laughter bubbled out of you. "Mapi!"
She laughed with you, enjoying the way you rested easily into her as Ingrid followed closely behind, digging through your backpack for sunscreen.
When you all finally make it into the locker room, it was mostly empty save for a few people who are talking amongst themselves.
Ingrid snatched you from Mapi's arms and smothered your face in sunscreen.
You puffed out your cheeks in annoyance but Ingrid continued rubbing in the icky cream. "Ingrid!" You squealed when she poked your cheek before laying kisses upon it in apology.
"Sorry, elskling but mamma won't be happy with me if you come home all burnt," Ingrid said as you tried to wipe it away.
You huffed in annoyance and tried to peer around her to have a look at this new room. She blocked your eyeline with her body though, changing into her training top before pulling you out of the child-sized Maria Leon jersey Mapi had scrounged up the moment she heard you were visiting.
A more appropriate t-shirt was thrown over your head as Ingrid sat you down in her cubby. "Are you sure you don't want to wear your normal shoes, elskling?" She asked, waving your regular pair in front of your face.
You shook your head stubbornly when you noticed Mapi making faces at you from behind Ingrid's back. "Want these."
Ingrid sighed but let you keep them on.
"Who's this?"
Two girls appeared over Ingrid's shoulder with Mapi, who grinned excitedly and patted your head proudly.
"y/n," She said," She's Ingrid's hermanita. y/n, this is Lucy and Keira, they are from England."
"Hi," You chirped.
The taller girl grinned at you, crouching to your level. "Hi, y/n. It's nice to meet you. How old are you?"
You held up the right amount of fingers on your hand as you smiled back at her.
"Wow," Lucy said," That's so old. You're a big girl, huh? Kei, I didn't know we were going to be in the presence of such a big girl. Did you?"
"No idea," Keira replied. She smiled at you, seemingly more reserved than her counterpart as she waved before being caught in a conversation with someone nearby.
Lucy entertained you for several more minutes, asking you simple questions that you could recognise in English. She seemed just as excited about your light-up shoes as you and Mapi.
"Alright, elskling," Your sister said as she returned to your side," Let's get going."
She offered you her hand to take but you ignored it, wiggling your way between Mapi and Keira, taking the Englishwoman's hand - much to her shock.
Keira reminded you a little of your sister just like how Lucy reminded you of Mapi. You swung your joined hands together with a wide grin as Keira walked you out to where she and the others were working.
You didn't fully understand Ingrid's job like you understood everyone else's in your family. You knew Mamma and Papa did stuff with their computers and paper that was so important you weren't allowed to touch them but all Ingrid seemed to do was run around with her friends and her Mapi.
Regardless, you much preferred going to work with Ingrid than going to work with Mamma and Papa.
Lots of other girls were on the field that Keira led you onto and you tucked yourself into her side firmly as Ingrid's hand came to hold onto your shoulder.
"Thank you, Keira," She said," But I've got her."
Keira released your hand and you were up on Ingrid's hip a moment later. Mamma and Papa had stopped picking you up like this a while ago but Ingrid had refused, citing that you would always be little enough for her to do this to you.
You flopped into Ingrid's shoulder as she brought you over to the rest of the group. She had placed those silly sunglasses on your face again so none of these new people could see the way your eyes darted nervously from side to side as you took them all in.
They were all trying to make their looks subtle but even at your age, you could tell what they were doing.
An official-looking man was talking so you took the time to inspect everyone. You vaguely recognised them, from when Mamma and Papa watched Ingrid work on the tv but you didn't really know many of their names.
But the two people that you did recognise both gave you a smile.
Ingrid carted you away to a shady area just off the pitch and set you up with a colouring book and some crayons. She pressed a kiss to your crown, smoothing down your flyaways before telling you to come and get her if you needed to.
You weren't alone for long though because Caro and Frido joined you almost as soon as Ingrid disappeared. You smiled at both of them.
Frido was Ingrid's best friend and often times came home with your sister. Whenever she visited, she made sure to take you to get ice cream and crepes.
You knew Caroline too. She played with Norway with Ingrid when they weren't playing in Spain. You had met her several years ago now, when you were much littler and Ingrid had decided that she would show her baby sister off to anyone who would stick around to listen.
"Hi, y/n," Caro said softly.
You looked up from your colouring sheet, beaming. "Hi!" You got to your feet and hugged her legs.
"What?" Frido said in faux annoyance," No hug for me? For shame, y/n."
You giggled. "Silly, Frido," You said," You get hugs too."
She looked delighted when you finally hugged her, picking you up and shaking you around for a moment before you were placed back onto the ground with your colouring page again.
"Caro, Frido," A girl approached," Jona told you to get a move on. You can see the nena later." Her English didn't sound like yours, Ingrid and Caro's or even like Frido's. She sounded a lot more like Mapi.
You tilted your head to the side, trying to place her face with the one that you had seen on the tv before.
"This is not any nena, Marta," Frido chastised with a smile," This is Ingrid's little sister. Get used to her face. She'll be playing for Barca when she's older, I'm sure of it."
The new girl - Marta - laughed and exchanged a look with Caro, who nodded seriously. She crouched down to greet you like Lucy did earlier. She reached out a hand that you took - Papa had always told you that a good, strong handshake was how you made a good impression.
"Well, then," She said in her Mapi-accented English," I suppose I should greet my future teammate. I am Marta Torrejón. And You?"
"y/n Engen," You replied because Mamma had also told you to always introduce yourself.
Marta smiled at you. "It's nice to meet you. I'll be sure to get to know you later, if you're going to play for Barca like your sister."
She dragged Frido and Caro with her back to where the rest of the girls were playing around with balls and cones.
You turned back to your colouring page - a cat that you scrawled black all over to look like Bagheera. When you were satisfied, you pulled out another page and started colouring again.
Sometimes, you would look up to see if Ingrid and Mapi were okay (being around so many people was overwhelming sometimes and you needed to be sure they were coping alright) and you would see a new girl hovering nearby.
None of them ever approached - bar Frido and Caro who would come over on orders from Ingrid to remind you to drink - but you could tell they were hovering.
Your tummy grumbled after a while and you huffed in annoyance. You were in the middle of colouring another kitten picture, this one to mimic the kitty you had back home.
Ingrid, of course, had thought ahead and another packet of goldfish crackers had been tucked into the pocket of your backpack.
You dug it out with a vengeance but couldn't quite get the package open. You looked to each side. Your sister and her girlfriend were on the opposite side of the pitch, very far away and you couldn't see Frido or Caro nearby either.
Three sets of girls in the same tops as Ingrid and Mapi were near though, taking a water break.
You rose to your feet, your special new shoes lighting up as you took nervous steps towards the girls. You tugged on the closest one's shorts.
She looked like she had jumped out of her skin when she noticed you, mouth hanging open in shock.
You presented her with your dilemma. "Please."
She took the packet from you but didn't move to open it, instead looking over at the other two girls in wild confusion. She then looked at you like you were one of those dangerous exploding bombs you had seen on one of Papa's tv shows.
"Er..."
"Please," You said again, staring up at her with wide eyes.
She stared down at you with similarly wide eyes.
Both of the older women laughed and one of them took the packet from the younger girl. "She wants you to open them, Esmee," She said," My Mateo does the same thing."
She passed you the now open package and smiled. "You are Ingrid's hermanita, si?"
"Si." You replied with a nod, cramming as many goldfish into your mouth as you could.
The other woman laughed. "Careful, nena," She warned," Slow down or you will choke."
"Will not," You insisted but did slow down your eating.
The first older woman kneeled down to you level and adjusted your hat. "You're a bit older than my Mateo. How old are you, nena?"
You held up the same number of fingers as you did with Lucy and all three girls suitably cooed over you - although the younger girl, Esmee, still seemed a little wary.
Mateo's Mamma, Irene, made sure your hat blocked the sun properly without covering your eyes while her friend, Sandra, let you drink from her bottle when you told them you had run out.
"Come with me," She said," It's cooler where I am. Esmee, grab her stuff and let Ingrid or Mapi know that the nena is with me."
She led you over to where she and the other keepers were working. Sandra was right, it was shadier where she was working and her friends Cata and Gemma suitably oohed and awwed over your colouring pages enough that you made all three of them pictures to take home with them.
●~●~●~●~
Ingrid came to collect you from Sandra a little while later. She put the back of her hand to your forehead and hummed. "We will get you out of the sun, elskling," She declared," It is lunchtime. Are you hungry?"
"Ja."
She laughed at your determined expression and passed your bag off to Mapi, who had tried to grab you.
Lunch was buffet style, Mapi told you. You weren't quite sure what that meant but your sister explained that it was like when you had barbeques at home and you just took what you wanted and left what you didn't.
You remained on Ingrid's hip for the trip to the food line when she put you down and made you hold her hand.
A lot of people were in the same room so you were glad that your sister didn't make you let go of her.
"When Mapi told me your sister was in town, I pictured someone older," A girl who had been playing with Ingrid earlier said," Not a nena this young."
You smiled up at her. "I'm a mistake," You said proudly.
Ingrid sighed loudly as the new girl - who introduced herself as Mariona, along with the girl behind her, Salma - laughed. "Sorry," Ingrid said, shuffling you closer into her legs," Our aunt teased our Momma about it once and we didn't realise she was eavesdropping until she started repeating."
The other girl, Salma, laughed as well. She held her fist out for a fist bump that you gladly gave. "I was an accident too," She said before taking your plate from Ingrid.
Between her and Mariona, your plate was stacked high with the tastiest things that Ingrid complained about.
She dragged you away from them when they tried to convince you that tying Mapi's laces together would be the height of comedy.
You were quickly sat between your sister and her girlfriend at a full table. Spanish chatter surrounded you but you were focused on devouring your meal.
"That is a lot of food."
Ingrid groaned at the words. "Salma and Mariona wouldn't stop. Elskling, wouldn't let me choose for her."
"She won't be able to eat all of that."
"You're welcome to take some if she lets you."
The person your sister was talking to gently tapped your hand for your attention.
"Elskling," Your sister said," This is Asisat. She had a question for you."
You tilted your head to the side. "Hi."
"Hello, y/n. Do you mind if I have some of your food, please? I'm just so hungry."
You studied her for a moment before you pushed your plate towards her. "Okay," You said," Because you said please. Papa says manners are important."
A collective group of squeals rang out from the other side of the table at your words so you fixed the group with a confused look.
"Your sister is cute, Ingrid," One of them said, waving at you.
"Elskling, Ona said you were cute," Ingrid said in Norwegian," What do you say?"
"Thank you," You replied dutifully which only led to the other two girls squealing again.
"You speak good English," Another said - Jana, you would come to know.
"Thank you."
"And your hat suits you," Bruna said next.
"Thank you."
"Ah!" Mapi chastised, swatting the three of them in turn," She's not a performing monkey. Leave her alone."
The three of them wilted and you frowned. They looked a little sad and you didn't like that.
"Ingrid's Mapi got me new shoes," You said suddenly when there was a lull in your sister and Asisat's conversation," They light up when I stamp. It's cool." To prove your point, you ducked under the table and reappeared between Ona and Bruna's seats, stamping your shoes to make the colours light up. "It is so cool, yes?"
"So cool."
●~●~●~●~
Frido stole you from Ingrid with little fanfare when you followed your sister to her gym session.
"Take the bag, Frido!" Ingrid called after her.
Frido ignored her as you rode on her shoulders into the gym. "I should use you as my weights today," She joked, poking your tummy when your top rose up.
"No!" You laughed.
"No?" She teased," Are you sure? I think you'll make a great weight for me."
"No!" You said again as she tickled you. "Nei, Frido! Nei!"
"Alright." She placed you on your feet again and ruffled your hair.
"Frido," A new voice said," Ingrid told me to give you this, for the nena."
Frido took your backpack with an exaggerated groan that had you in peals of laughter. "y/n, this is Aitana. She's a friend of your sister's."
You looked up at Aitana. She looked cool in a different way to Mapi's coolness but she was still pretty cool in your humble opinion. "Hi."
She smiled at you. "Hi, y/n. I have heard a lot about you from Ingrid and Mapi. It's nice to meet you finally."
"Hi," You said again because you weren't entirely sure what to say to that. You thought for a moment before you decided to test her coolness. "I have light-up shoes...from Ingrid's Mapi." You stamped your feet like you did at lunch.
"Wow," Aitana said in awe, cementing herself in your cool list," Those are so cool. I wish I had light-up shoes."
You nodded sagely. "They are the best."
"Light-up shoes?" Another voice said, a girl you knew to be Patri," I should have worn my light-up shoes today. We could have matched."
Mapi had told you about Patri before - how she was almost as cool as Mapi but not quite. With this knowledge, you patted Patri's leg almost patronisingly.
"It's okay. I can wear my light-up shoes tomorrow so you can wear yours too. So we can match."
Patri felt oddly touched at your words. "Thank you, nena."
You beamed. "I match with Ingrid when she comes home too. We have the same t-shirt and the same trousers. Mamma says Ingrid is silly to match with me because I'm so little but Ingrid doesn't care because she's super cool."
"Ingrid is super cool," Another voice said. Your head swivelled between the little group that amassed around you. This girl was shorter than the others but she had tattoos so was automatically super cool in your head because some of your most favourite people had tattoos as well.
"She is!" You got a bit excited at that. Not many people understand how super cool your older sister was so you were happy that someone other than you said it aloud.
"I like you," You declared firmly, holding out a hand for her to shake," Let's be friends. I'm y/n."
The girl shook your hand gladly. "I'm Claudia."
An exaggerated gasp sounded from behind you. "Are you replacing me with Pina, nena? Is she your new best friend?"
You escaped your little group and ran into the newcomer's arms immediately.
"Don't be silly," You said, patting her on the cheek," You're Tia Alexia, my most favourite."
"Very good, nena," She praised, laying a kiss to your crown.
"I was wondering when you would steal her," Mapi said as she approached," I'm surprised it took you so long."
Alexia flashed her a smile. "I though I would let everyone get to know my favourite nena before stealing her away. Want to hang out with me, y/n?"
"Ja!"
You spent the rest of the day, firmly attached to Alexia's side.
You met her the second to last time Mamma and Papa took you to visit Ingrid. They had gone out for the day to do touristy things while you stayed in with Ingrid, Mapi and Bagheera. Alexia had stopped by in a rush of busy activity and ended up staying well into the evening - helping you play all of Ingrid's board games and even putting together a puzzle before your bedtime.
The last time you visited Ingrid, she was there again and appeared almost every day of your stay until you finally relented to calling her Tia when she asked.
"No," Alexia said when the day was over and Ingrid came to collect you," This is my y/n. I'm taking her home with me." She bounced you up and down. "Wouldn't that be fun, nena? You come home with me and we'll have a sleepover!"
"With chicken nuggets?" You asked hopefully.
"Si! Of course!"
"Ale," Ingrid said with an eye roll," Come on, hand her over. Elskling, you can't sleep over at Alexia's house. You don't have any clothes to take."
You frowned at that. Ingrid was right - she usually was - but you were excellent at coming up with solutions to problems.
"Tia Alexia can come to our house!" You said," Because she can wear your clothes and she can sleep in my bed with me in the guest room!"
"Excellent plan!" Alexia complimented with a grin," She's right, Ingrid. Don't separate me from my nena so soon."
Ingrid rolled her eyes, already knowing she was fighting a losing battle when she saw Mapi giggling in the corner. "She's here all summer. You'll see her plenty. Besides, haven't you got to go home and feed Nala?"
Helpful as ever, you spoke up," We can go to Alexia's house to feed Nala and then come home for the sleepover. Please, Ingrid? Please, please, please?"
You batted your eyelashes at her and she sighed.
"You have to promise that you'll eat all your dinner," Ingrid said before winking," And that you'll make sure your Tia Alexia gives you big cuddles at bedtime."
Your eyes lit up with joy. "I can do that!"

“everyone on twitter is going crazy,” recalled jude, stepping out of the doorway. “why?” you laughed quesionably, unlocking your phone to check what he meant. you were rushed to see his fans eagerly wanting to know who you were, as jude had soft launched you on his latest post. they had not expected that one bit, now they we’re piecing to see who you were.
it wasn’t anything new for you, as you had been doing that privately on your own instagram. the media knew he had a girlfriend, and jude respected your wishes to be private since it tended to be crazy hectic. yet the two of you liked to read comments late at night and see how theyre crazy theories came to light.
“he was with his girlfriend at the airport, they both arrived with hats. she was very pretty and nice as well,” you read, feeling admiration at their comment. there was very few encounters you had together but all of them were positive to say the least which you were grateful for. the last thing you wanted was to be plastered in a tabloid of you being rude or mean.
“a fan account pinned a comment earlier today, that you were a medical student and lived in norway? I never pictured it for it to get this crazy,” joked jude, hearing your laugh as you walked over to the mini bar. “do you want a drink? or would you like to share with me?” you asked, rubbing lime around the rim of the glass so you could coat with salt.
“i’ll just take some sips out of yours,” replied jude, coming behind you to wrap his arms securely around your waist, placing kisses over your shoulder. jude watched as a you made the drink, eating fruit slices from the container you had bought in the morning. “i don’t know what it is, but the fruit here is so much better than the one in spain?” you say, jude immediately agreeing with you and going off how here he had the best mango ever.
“careful, it's slippery,” jude gripped your hand and helped you get down the stairs carefully, making sure you wouldn't fall like he had done the first day here. the summer sea breeze was heavenly, reminiscing the last few days of summer with your boyfriend who seemed attached to you. jude’s second season at real madrid would start soon, and you were on your last year of uni. meaning this year would be hectic and stressful.
yet right now all you could focus on was the palm trees leaves swaing, the late night sky, and the buzz feeling from your tropical drink.
the past few days the two of you had spent exploring and having fun, taking tours around places, going ziplining, trying new foods, lots of walks along the shore, making seashell necklace and a bracelet for jude, and ending your nights like this, in the warm pool. you were grateful the place you had chosen to travel was sorta excluded from the world, being a private getaway without the media following around.
“you okay? you seemed distracted,” jude asked swimming towards you where you lifted your hand to remove the water drops from his face. his sunkissed face from the past few days. you had to force him to wear sunscreen, listening to jude nag and complain he would be fine. you knew this heat, humidity, and sun wasn't like the one in spain, easily burning in the first few seconds stepping outside.
“i don’t want to leave, like ever,” you frowned and pouted your lip, jude chuckling as he picked you, wrapping your legs around his waist as his hands smoothed your bareback. “i don’t picture you as a thalassophile, with your little beach bag and sun hat,” jude joked earning a confused look from you. “a what?” you asked with narrowed eyes.
“a thalassophile.”
“what even is that?” you giggled, your hand scratching the nape of his neck, as jude rested against the pool walls. “a thalassophile? it's someone who loves the ocean. for someone who claims they are the smarter one in the relationship, this is proving otherwise…” jude narrowed his eyes, resting his forehead against yours, seeing the warning look you threw at him. “as the smarter person in the relationship, i’m shocked you even know that word!” you gasp sarcastically.
“hey! leave me alone…” jude tickled you making you swarm around and swim away from him, going to the edge of the pool where he followed. “what would you do? set up a small shop and sell souvenirs?” he teased, seeing how you looked away nonchalantly. “uhm yes? but mine wouldn’t be overpriced or aesthetic shops, i would bring the culture and actual diversity. give a tiny background of my items and what not…” you shrug with a shy smile, seeing jude’s eyes never leaving yours, watching how your lashes fluttered and iris dilate.
“why are you looking at me like that? it makes me nervous, baby…” you admit with cheeks flushed, shaking your head. jude laughs and looks away, making you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. your pulse and heart racing with one simple glance from him. “does it? i didn’t know that,” he said carelessly, bringing you back into his embrace, tucking and brushing away your hair that covered your shy face.
“stop lying…” you rolled your eyes playfully, feeling jude’s warm hands as they ran your sides and thighs. “if i'm a liar, why aren't my pants on fire?” he joked terribley, his brum accent appearing more than ever, which made the two of you burst out laughing. “you and your jokes i swear… you think you're the funniest person ever,” you tease, hearing jude gasp. “maybe because i am?” defended jude.
you swam back to your drink, having to pull off from your clingy boyfriend, who complained the minute you were away. you finished it, after offering jude some, hearing the ice clink in the glass, only having the strawberry left, which you took a bite of. jude watched intensely, seeing your lips around the red fruit and leave a trail behind.
he swallowed deeply as you stepped near him, feeling your arm wrap around his shoulders, coming between his legs, your tongue licking off the extra strawberry off your top lip as you offered him some. his eyes looked up into yours, tasting the bitter yet sweet taste from the fruit as he took a bite. he stood up, towering over you as you placed the stem in the cup, your back resting on the pool.
“you're so beautiful y/n… absolutely stunning,” he whispered, seeing upon how his words had an effect on you. you traced your hands around his bare muscles, veins decorating along his arms, as his fingers tilted your chin to him, jude crashing his lips on yours. he deepens the kiss, managing to sneek his tongue into your mouth, groaning and pulling closer to him, his hand tugging you locks of hair from the back, making you let out a tiny moan.
“tastes so much better from your lips,” he whispered, yet he didn’t stop, and you didn’t want him to. this was so different, so intimate, driven by lust. jude knew all your spots, and you learned his. he knew how to bring you to the edge, the movement, the words. so it wasn't a surprise when he pulled away, pressing your hips down onto him, kissing down your jaw to your sweetspot on your neck, sucking softly making you shiver and throw your head back. “mhm jude… what if someone sees?” you say worriedly.
“they won't… we’re alone here, it's just you and me.”
you leaned down and captured his lips again, smacking his shoulder gently. “not so fast,” you giggle, feeling as he fondled with the bowtie on your bikini. jude gave you a playful smile, knowing his intentions wouldn't be so innocent. “what i wasn’t doing anything,” jude shrugged. “right cause you never do, and especially on this trip…” you eye him down.
“i just want to love and appreciate my girl.”
“you have… i think this may be our favorite trip. it's something about this place i don’t know,” you blabber off, jude listening to every word, already making a future visits for the next years to come. maybe one day bring your kids to this paradise even himself grown to love. seeing you in a new environment, with your summer glow of happiness, he could get used to it. he would drop anything, even football, just to see you this radiant. it didn’t matter if it was in the sunlight or moonlight.
“you think our kids would love this place?” jude said suddenly making your crinkle your brows. “kids? you want to have kids with me?” you say unsurely, earning a confused glance from jude who tensed up. “yes… i wouldn’t picture anyone else,” jude replied, seeing how your eyes dazed from bewilderment to jovial. “you better not, you know how i am,” you give him a look.
“trust me i know,” jude said, thinking back to the one time a girl wouldn’t get a hint he was with you, doing the upmost right in your face, flirting, touching him, following him. it didn’t help you were deep in with tequila shots, embarrassing the girl by calling her out in public. but she took the hint.
“i’m serious though y/n… i want everything and anything for you and us,” confessed jude, pecking your lips where you turned away shyly once again. “you don’t know the amount of times i think about our future. what were doing 5 years from now, our home, kids, hell pets even! i know you seriously want a cat, i’m willing to do whatever it is to see you smiling always…” he continued, your gazed bored into each other, as in a way of sealing this moment for eternity.
“when you won the champions league that night, do you remember what i said to you?” you ask, seeing jude think about it, and by seeing his face you knew he was bound to say something silly. “i was really drunk that night, so i don’t recal much,” jude taunted, earning another gentle slap on his shoulder from you.
“be serious!” you threatened with a huge grin.
“if you’re recalling when you promised a lifetime with me, confessed your love, and promised me that you’d stick with me forever? that you knew it was a complete different world when i was in it? that you wanted to continue making memories with me, no matter the sacrifices?” jude recalled, watching how your eyes became teary. “yes. i remember it all.”
you sniffed while also giggling, kissing jude deeply and messily once again. you notice how jude’s breathing accelerated, tugging you closer to him and keeping you steady, making you sigh in content. “i’ll never get tired of kissing you,” you admit, kissing his nose and a tiny mole he had at the end of his brow, as jude then twirled you both around, hearing the squeal of excitement escape your lips.
“so about our babies-”
“babies?”
“yes babies. i want more than 2 kids,” jude said with a huge smile, seeing how you gave him a look. “we’ll have one first and then see,” you state, seeing jude shake his head. “nuh uh, i’m not having that, especially when i heard you say to your best friends you would give me 6 kids when we met that night,” jude said smirking when he knew he had caught you.
“YOU DID NOT HEAR THAT? OH MY GOD, YOU ACTUALLY HEARD THAT?”
the rest of the night, you and jude counted the stars, he even made another drink where he repeatedly insisted he wanted to repeat the kiss you once had. you even played those silly pool games where you threw a item in the pool and one of you had to find and retrieve it, a game of 2 truths and 1 lie, and recalling your earliest memories you could think of.
towards the end of the night you sat on the edge of the pool, watching jude do some laps before he swam up to you. you clenched your legs together, when feeling his lips trail kisses up your thighs, forcing you to open them so he could continue on the inside of them. “what are you doing?” you shakily say, seeing jude look up to you as he placed a final kiss on a tiny scar you had.
“nothing…” jude murmured, pulling you closer to him, where you now realized how this night would end. but you didn’t complain, because you wanted him that desperately too. showing him just how much you needed and wanted him. jude didn’t fight it either, having a taste by the pool side, to then carrying you into you room where he continued to show you, prove to you how special you were.
“gonna take care of you, you deserve it angelito mio.”

↠ Masterlist | Aspen's Ask Box | Field Guide to the Forest
Normal breathing, you thought to yourself as the driver pulled up the drive of the massive estate of Alexander Pierce, one of the senior partners of the law firm where you worked. This was your first time attending the firm’s New Year’s Eve party since you’d only begun working for Bucky in the early spring, and although you were only Bucky’s assistant, you had heard enough directly and indirectly to know that making an appearance here mattered. Bucky had insisted that you didn’t need to feel obligated to come – especially since he’d kept you away from your family over Christmas when the weather had made it impossible to fly home from the business trip to Norway. He had even insisted on paying for flights for you to go straight home instead of making the long drive to your hometown.
What he didn’t know was that you had called and changed your return flight from January 2 to December 31.
Bucky was close to making partner, and you wanted to show that you were one of the small but dedicated team he had in his office that took their work supporting Bucky seriously.
And while being home for some delayed holiday time with your family had been nice, the longer you were there, the more you were itching to get back to New York and figure out what life was going to look like with your boss post-Norway.
Five days of normal business followed by the three “stranded” days of Nordic adventures, shopping, sightseeing, dining, spoiling, and so much sex. So much sex.
With Bucky.
Your boss.
A valet stepped up to open your door as the Uber driver stopped in the circular receiving area of the driveway at the front of the mansion. As you stepped out and began walking up the steps, you were glad you went with the modest heels rather than the strappy high heels your best friend had tried to coax you to pick when you FaceTimed her while getting ready. Since you were nervous about enough other things, you didn’t need to worry about your shoes tonight.
Things like the bolder shade of lipstick you’d put on, or the sexiest dress you’d ever worn, or simply the fact that you didn’t know where everything that happened in Norway left you with Bucky Barnes.
Minor things to trifle over, really.
You gave your name to an attendant at the front. They scanned the list, smiled, welcomed you to the festivities, and gestured toward the staff taking care of a coat check just inside, off to the right of the grand foyer.
You gave your name to an attendant at the front. They scanned the list, smiled, welcomed you to the festivities, and gestured toward the staff taking care of a coat check just inside, off to the right of the grand foyer.
As you approached the coat check, you couldn't help but marvel at the opulence surrounding you. The foyer was a masterpiece of marble and gold, with a grand staircase sweeping upwards and crystal chandeliers twinkling overhead. You were enveloped by a pleasantly thick scent of gardenias and champagne, mingling with the soft murmur of conversation and tinkling laughter from the rooms beyond.
You slipped off your coat, revealing the dress you'd agonized over for hours. It was a deep emerald green, hugging your curves before falling in a silky waterfall to your ankles. The neckline dipped low, and the back was even lower, leaving you feeling both sophisticated and slightly exposed.
The attendant handed you a small golden ticket in exchange for your coat, and you tucked it carefully into your clutch. You took a deep breath, steeling yourself for the evening ahead. The butterflies in your stomach were performing an intricate ballet, a mix of excitement and nerves that left you feeling slightly lightheaded.
As you turned to face the grand ballroom, you were immediately enveloped by the soft glow of candlelight and the gentle tinkling of champagne glasses. The room was a vision of elegance, with towering floral arrangements adorning every table and shimmering gold accents catching the light. The air was filled with the gentle hum of conversation and laughter, the tinkling of champagne flutes, and the soft strains of a live orchestra.
You took a tentative step forward, your eyes scanning the crowd for a familiar face. The sea of designer gowns and tailored suits was intimidating, and you found yourself second-guessing your decision to attend. Just as you were considering a hasty retreat, a warm, familiar voice called your name.
"Hey there, stranger! I was hoping you'd make it tonight."
You turned to see Steve Rogers, Bucky's best friend and fellow lawyer at the firm. He approached, moving with a swift grace as he always did, his broad shoulders filling out an impeccably tailored navy suit, a glass of champagne in each hand. He’d be intimidating if you hadn’t forged a wonderfully warm friendship over the past months working in the office. You admired how much he wanted to take care of those around him, unafraid to speak up whenever needed, and equally ready to make someone smile.
Even now, the tension in your shoulders eased at the sight of him and his bright smile.
“Bucky will be happy to see you!”
You ducked your head a moment, taking a sip of the champagne he offered. “He will?”
“I don’t think he could tie his shoes anymore without you,” Steve exaggerated, but the compliment warmed your insides anyway.
Steve offered you his arm and then led you further into the party.
Your senses were overwhelmed by the sheer grandeur of the event. Everywhere you looked, your eyes drank in more exquisite details infusing the atmosphere. You passed by a magnificent ice sculpture of the firm's logo, its edges glinting in the candlelight. You passed by tables laden with delicacies from around the world - tiny caviar-topped blinis, glistening oysters nestled in beds of ice, and delicate pastries that looked almost too beautiful to eat. Waiters in crisp white jackets glided effortlessly through the crowd, their trays balanced with flutes of golden champagne and jewel-toned cocktails.
You couldn't help but feel a bit like Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole. Each new sight was more wondrous than the last. To your left, a living statue covered in shimmering gold paint posed gracefully atop a pedestal, her movements so subtle you had to blink to be sure she was real. To your right, an aerialist in a glittering silver bodysuit performed breathtaking feats on silks suspended from the vaulted ceiling, twirling and spinning in mesmerizing patterns.
Near them, a group of women in shimmering gowns laughed melodiously, their jewelry catching the light with every gesture. You nodded politely at a few familiar faces from the office, but your attention was divided, always seeking. You noticed Alexander Pierce himself holding court near a grand fireplace, his silver hair gleaming as he regaled a captive audience with what was surely a riveting anecdote.
As you and Steve wove through the crowd, your eyes continued to roam, searching for one face in particular. The anticipation built with each passing moment, your heart quickening its pace. You nodded politely at a few familiar faces from the office, but your attention was divided, always seeking.
Then, as if drawn by an invisible thread, your gaze was pulled across the room to finally land on Bucky Barnes, looking devastatingly handsome in a perfectly tailored black tuxedo. His dark hair was newly trimmed since you last saw him, sleek in a way that made your fingers itch to rake through it and over his scalp. He was engaged in conversation with a small group, his head thrown back in laughter at something someone had said.
Suddenly, Bucky's attention shifted to you, his eyes locking onto yours across the bustling room. The laughter died on his lips, replaced with a bit of wonder and an impossibly charming grin. Immediately heat was pooling in your stomach, nerves somewhat calmed, but a different itch pitching inside you.
The world seemed to slow down as Bucky excused himself from his group and began making his way towards you. Your breath caught in your throat as you watched him approach, his eyes never leaving yours. The crowded room seemed to part for him, or perhaps it was just your imagination playing tricks on you.
As he drew closer, you could see the slight widening of his eyes as he took in your appearance. His gaze traveled slowly from your face down to your toes and back up again, lingering on the curves accentuated by your dress. When his eyes met yours again, they were dark with an intensity that made your skin tingle and memories of your time in Norway together flash vividly through your mind.
"You're here," Bucky said softly as he reached you, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down your spine. "I thought you were still with your family."
You smiled, trying to keep your voice steady. "I wanted to surprise you. I hope that's okay?"
"More than okay," he murmured, his eyes still roaming over you appreciatively. "You look absolutely stunning."
You felt a blush creep up your cheeks at his compliment. "Thank you. You clean up pretty well yourself," you replied, taking in his impeccably tailored tuxedo.
Steve cleared his throat beside you, reminding you both of his presence. "I'll leave you two to catch up," he said with a knowing smile, giving Bucky a pat on the shoulder before disappearing into the crowd.
Suddenly alone with Bucky, you felt the air between you crackle with tension. The noise of the party faded into the background as you stood there, lost in each other's gaze.
"Can I get you a drink?" Bucky asked, gesturing towards the bar.
You lifted your half-empty champagne flute. "I could use a refill," you said with a smile.
Bucky's hand found the small of your back as he guided you towards the bar, the possessive heat of his touch sending flames radiating across your skin. You were acutely aware of every point of contact between you, rejoicing and regretting over choosing the dangerously low and exposed back that allowed him skin to skin access in this moment.
As you waited for your drinks, Bucky leaned in close, his breath warm against your ear. "I can't believe you're here," he murmured, his voice low and intimate. "Since Norway, you’ve been on my mind constantly.
Your heart raced at his words, memories of passionate nights, morning, afternoons, and so many stolen kisses streaming through your mind. "I couldn't stay away," you admitted softly. "I needed to see you."
Bucky's eyes darkened with desire, his gaze dropping to your lips. For a moment, you thought Bucky might kiss you right there, in full view of everyone. But he seemed to catch himself, remembering where you were. Instead, he reached past you to collect your drinks from the bartender - a flute of golden champagne for you and a tumbler of amber whiskey for himself.
"Come with me," he murmured, his voice husky and filled with promise. His hand found yours, fingers intertwining as he led you away from the crowded ballroom.
Your heart raced as you followed him down a dimly lit corridor, the sounds of the party fading behind you. Moonlight streamed through tall windows, casting long shadows across the polished marble floor. His fingers tightened around yours as he glanced back, a roguish glint in his eyes.
At the end of the hall, he paused before an ornate wooden door. With a quick look around, he turned the handle and drew you inside. You found yourself in a luxurious study, shelves of leather-bound books lining the walls and a grand desk dominating the center of the room.
Bucky took your glass and his and set them on the desk. Then his strong arms encircled your waist and drew you to him. "We shouldn't be in here," you whispered, even as excitement coursed through your veins.
"Shh," he replied, pulling you closer. His lips found yours in a searing kiss that made your knees weak. You melted against him, hands roaming over the broad planes of his shoulders.
As Bucky's lips moved against yours, all thoughts of propriety and caution melted away. Your hands slid down his chest, fingers curling into the lapels of his tuxedo jacket as you pulled him closer. The kiss deepened, pent-up longing and desire pouring out between you.
Bucky's hands roamed your back, tracing the exposed skin left bare by your daring dress. And the way he touched you? Reverently worshipping the curves and plump flesh you were usually so insecure about? This was why you dared to show more than you typically did. He made you believe you were gorgeous. His touch ignited sparks along your spine, each caress stoking the fire building within you. You gasped as he nipped at your lower lip, using the opportunity to sweep his tongue into your mouth.
The taste of whiskey on his lips mingled with the lingering champagne on yours, creating an intoxicating blend that left you dizzy with want. You pressed yourself closer, desperate to eliminate any space between your bodies. He slipped a finger beneath the strap on your shoulder and pushed it down, tugging until he freed one of your breasts. He hummed as he began to palm it with his large hand, and you arched into his touch.
Suddenly, Bucky broke the kiss, and spun you around. You gasped and brought both hands out to steady yourself on the edge of the desk.
Bucky's lips traced a burning path down the curve of your neck, pausing to nip gently at the sensitive spot where it met your shoulder. You shivered as his warm breath ghosted across your skin, goosebumps rising in its wake. His kisses continued their southward journey, open-mouthed heat following the elegant line of your spine.
Each press of his lips felt like a spark igniting your nerve endings. The cool air of the study contrasted sharply with the heat of his mouth, creating a delicious tension that had you trembling. As he moved lower, his hands skimmed down your sides, fingers tracing the curves of your waist and hips with reverent appreciation.
As Bucky sank to his knees behind you, his hands slid down to your hips, his breath now teasing the small of your back. The anticipation built, your heart racing as you felt him gather the silky fabric of your dress in his hands, lifting it inch by tantalizing inch. The whisper of the material against your skin was electric, heightening every sensation. When he reached your hips, he paused, his fingers tracing the lace edge of your panties.
"You're exquisite," he murmured, his voice rough with desire.
Slowly, reverently, he began to peel your panties down. The delicate lace clung to your curves before giving way, sliding down your thighs.
You shivered as the cool air hit your exposed skin, a mix of anticipation and nervousness coursing through you. Bucky's hands caressed your thighs, urging them apart, his touch both soothing and electrifying. You could feel his hot breath against your most intimate areas, causing a fresh wave of arousal to wash over you.
"God, I've missed you," Bucky groaned, his voice husky with desire. "Missed tasting you."
Without further preamble, he leaned in and ran his tongue along your slit, eliciting a gasp from you. Your fingers gripped the edge of the desk tighter as he began to explore you with his mouth, his skilled tongue alternating between long, languid strokes and quick, teasing flicks.
You bit your lip to stifle a moan, acutely aware of the party continuing just down the hall. One of his hands snaked around to caress your breast, rolling your nipple between his fingers. The dual sensations had you panting, struggling to keep quiet as waves of pleasure washed over you. The thought of being caught only added to the intensity of sensations swirling through your body.
Bucky's tongue worked magic between your thighs, alternating between broad strokes and focused attention on your most sensitive spots. Your legs trembled as the pleasure built, threatening to overwhelm you. You bit down on your lip, desperately trying to muffle the moans that threatened to escape.
"Let me hear you, plum," Bucky murmured against your heated flesh. "I want to know how good I'm making you feel."
His words sent a shiver through you, and you allowed a soft whimper to escape.
Encouraged, Bucky redoubled his efforts, his tongue circling your clit with increasing pressure. One of his hands slid up your inner thigh, and you gasped as he slowly pushed two fingers inside you.
The dual sensations of his tongue on your clit and his fingers curling inside you had you seeing stars. Your hips began to move of their own accord, grinding against his face as you chased your release. The coil of tension in your core wound tighter and tighter, ready to snap at any moment.
Just as you were about to tumble over the precipice, the sound of approaching voices in the hallway made you freeze. Panic mingled with arousal as you realized how exposed you were, bent over the desk of what had to be Alexander Pierce’s private study.
But Bucky was undeterred, and you bit your lip to stifle your moans, acutely aware that you were in a semi-public space. The thought of getting caught only added to the thrill, your arousal only surging more, lapped up by his wicked tongue. He worshipped at the altar of your sex with so much devotion, you weren’t quite ready to think about the implications of yet.
Bucky's fingers curled inside you, hitting that perfect spot that made your toes curl. His tongue continued its relentless assault on your clit, and you could feel yourself teetering on the edge of ecstasy. The voices in the hallway grew closer, and your heart pounded with a mixture of fear and exhilaration.
"Bucky," you whispered urgently, your voice trembling. "Someone's coming."
He hummed against you, the vibrations sending shockwaves through your body. "Then you better come first," he murmured, his voice muffled but determined.
The voices in the hallway grew louder, and you could make out snippets of conversation about quarterly reports and market projections. Your heart raced, torn between the need for release and the fear of discovery.
Bucky, however, seemed to relish the added excitement. His ministrations became more intense, his tongue flicking rapidly against your sensitive bud while his fingers curled inside you, hitting that perfect spot with each thrust. The combination of pleasure and danger pushed you closer to the edge.
"Come for me," Bucky whispered against your heated flesh, his breath sending shivers through your body. "Let go, plum. I've got you."
His words were your undoing. The tension that had been building inside you finally snapped, and you came with a silent scream, your body shuddering as waves of pleasure washed over you. Bucky's mouth and fingers worked you through your orgasm. Your legs trembled as the aftershocks of your orgasm rippled through you. Bucky's touch gentled, his fingers slipping out of you as he pressed soft kisses to your inner thighs. The voices in the hallway faded, moving past the study door without pause.
With shaky hands, you pushed yourself up from the desk, your breath still coming in quick passes. Bucky helped drop the fabric of your dress back down to the floor and rose to his feet behind you. He turned you back around to face him and brought you back into his arms. You could feel the hard line of his arousal pressing against you, but he seemed unconcerned over seeking his own relief.
"You're incredible," he murmured, his lips brushing your forehead. "So beautiful when you come undone for me."
He dipped down and pressed a kiss to the swell of your still exposed breast before then bringing your dress back up and over your shoulder, setting it completely right again.
Your hands slid up to loop around his neck. His eyes were dark with desire, his lips slightly swollen from his ministrations.
"That was…" you trailed off, unable to find the right words.
"Amazing," Bucky finished for you. He leaned in, capturing your lips in a tender kiss. You could taste yourself on his tongue, and it sent a fresh wave of arousal through you.
But before either of you could be tempted into anything else, the voices in the hall returned.
"I'm telling you, Alexander, the Ultron account is a goldmine waiting to happen," a booming voice declared footsteps drew closer.
Bucky quickly reached for the drinks on the desk, pressing your champagne flute into your fingers. The he dipped to the floor, snatched up your panties, and pocketed them. You bit your lip, and he smirked at you.
"I appreciate your enthusiasm, Wilson, but I'm not convinced the risk is worth the potential reward," came Alexander Pierce's measured reply as the door opened.
"Barnes! There you are," Alexander Pierce's voice boomed as he entered the study, followed by two other senior partners. "We've been looking for you."
Your heart was pounding so loudly you were sure everyone could hear it.
Bucky turned, his body language relaxed and confident despite almost being caught in a compromising position.
"Mr. Pierce," Bucky greeted smoothly, his voice betraying none of the tension you felt. "I was just showing my assistant the impressive library you have here. We both share a passion for rare first editions."
You nodded. "It's truly remarkable," you managed, proud of how steady your voice sounded.
Pierce's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked between you and Bucky, but his expression remained neutral. "Indeed it is," he said, moving towards one of the bookshelves. His hand swept over one of the shelves. "I'm particularly fond of this Hemingway collection. However, I’m afraid I can’t entertain you with its history and how I had to hunt them down presently. I’m actually glad we found you, Barnes. We have some urgent matters to discuss regarding the Stark Industries merger. I’d like to bring you in on it, if you’re game."
"Of course, sir,” Bucky nodded, his professional mask slipping for only the briefest of moments, but you saw the excitement there for the opportunity presented.
"Excellent," Pierce said, clapping his hands together. "Gentlemen, have a seat." He turned to you, his smile polite but dismissive. "Thank you for your interest in the collection, and, please, enjoy the rest of the party."
You nodded, understanding the clear directive. "Of course, Mr. Pierce. Thank you for your hospitality."
As you moved to leave, Bucky caught your eye. His gaze was intense, filled with unspoken promises. "I'll find you," he mouthed silently, a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
You felt a shiver run down your spine as you slipped out of the study, leaving Bucky to his impromptu meeting. Your mind was reeling from the events of the last few minutes - the passionate encounter with Bucky, the near-miss of being caught. Mostly, though, you were happy you had come after all and were eager to spend the rest of the evening with Bucky. At a party like this where business and pleasure stood side by side, you knew the host couldn’t be gone in his study for long, and then Bucky would return to your side, and you’d be able to ring in the New Year just right.

adrenaline junkie
r loves to do dangerous things, relishing in the thrill, the rush of ecstasy that rushes through her. until her overprotective teammates find out about some of her hobbies. and then others find out. it doesn't go great.
disclaimer- as has been established, i do not have BDE, so i haven't ever ridden a motorcycle. or done like most of the things r does in this.
At first, it was only small things that the girls noticed. How you would climb up on stuff and jump off, prompting intense scoldings from your captains and the coaches. If this was any indication as to how they'd act if they learned about your... more intense hobbies, you were pretty determined not to let them find out.
There were different rules for professional athletes than people who's jobs didn't rely on their ability to walk. While it wasn't in your contract, you weren't supposed to do anything physically dangerous. No motorcycles, no skydiving, no cliff jumping, no zip lining, no swimming with sharks. It was all very discouraged.
You were an adult, though, a whole entire individual who could safely decide to do dangerous things for fun. Your teammates still thought of you as a kid, Alexia and Lucy especially. And sure, you were young, but completely capable of making rational decisions for yourself.
You'd had a couple close calls; as big of a city Barcelona was, your teammates all lived near you, and it only made sense that it was only a matter of time before you were caught. Your motorcycle was parked in the building's parking lot, but none of your teammates knew that it was yours when they came over. At least, not at first.
-----
You'd decided to use your bike one morning to go grab coffee. The place was too far to walk, but it was a nice day, and you wanted to enjoy the fresh air. It was a few days into the holiday break, so you knew that a lot of your teammates would be out of Barcelona, at home with their families. This is why you didn't worry about going to the coffee shop that a lot of your teammates frequented. Which would turn out to be a mistake.
You'd had to circle the block the coffee shop was on before you could get a spot right in front. You pulled in, turning the engine off and taking off your helmet, leaving your jacket on. When you turned your attention to the coffee shop, or rather the little tables outside of it, you froze.
There, at one of the little tables with their coffees, sat Ingrid and Frido, jaws practically on the floor as they stared at you. Deciding to play it cool, hoping that if you acted like you hadn't done anything wrong, they'd be alright about it, you walked over to their table.
"Hey guys! I didn't know either of you were still in town." Ingrid was supposed to take Mapi with her to Norway, (Mapi had been complaining about the upcoming cold weather for weeks, but every time she even mentioned spending Christmas with Ingrid's family, she got this disgusting, love sick look on her face). Frido was also supposed to head home to Sweden.
Their only response was to gawk at you, stunned into silence.
"Guys?" You said, playfully waving a hand in front of their faces. This seemed to bring them out of their temporary stress-induced coma. Ingrid stood up, almost knocking the whole table over in the process.
"Are you CRAZY?" She shouted, hands flapping in the air as she spoke, gesturing wildly. Frido's mouth was opening and closing, as if she had so many things to yell, she couldn't settle on one.
"About...?" You said, looking between her and Frido, pretending that you didn't know very well what they were upset about.
"YOU KNOW WHAT ABOUT!" Ingrid yelled, pointing a finger insistently behind you.
"Ingrid, you're kind of making a scene." You mumbled, looking out of the corner of your eye at the pedestrians nearby staring at the Norwegian. She only scoffed in response, hands on her hips, waiting for you to explain yourself.
"You know who is going to make a scene? Alexia, when she finds out her perfect, precious, protégée rides motorcycles in her free time." Frido said finally. Your cool demeanor vanished.
"No, no, Frido you cannot tell her, she would kill me. Kill me dead. And if she didn't Lucy would. Actually, I'm pretty sure half of the team would kill me. Besides Pina. And Mapi."
Ingrid lets out an indignant noise. "Sell the motorcycle and we won't tell."
"You want me... to sell it? Come on, guys, it's not even that dangerous." You try, faltering when both girls rise to their feet again.
"NOT THAT DANGEROUS?" They shout together, and you throw your hands in the air, cutting them off before their lecture can really begin.
"Alright, alright, I'll sell it. You guys are boring. And you better not tell anyone about this. No one. Not even Mapi." You said, making them promise they wouldn't speak a word of it.
They insisted on driving home with you, following your bike in Ingrid's car. They honked whenever anyone came even close to you, and every time you caught a glimpse of them through their windows, Frido was staring at you like a cop tailing a murder suspect. At one point, you were going maybe 5 over the speed limit, and Frido stuck her head out the window, instructing you to slow down immediately.
If it wasn't so incredibly annoying, it probably would have been funny.
You parked the bike elsewhere, now, in case either of the Nordic girls decided to check and make sure the motorcycle was really gone.
-----
Mapi must have cracked Ingrid, you're sure of it. And you knew, too, that she only told Alexia on you because she was jealous that you had a motorcycle and she didn't. Of course, Ingrid thought you'd gotten rid of it. You hadn't. And Alexia, being Alexia, was suspicious enough to figure out that you still owned the motorcycle. She'd come over, accompanied by Lucy and Irene, completely unannounced. You'd let her in, somewhat confused. She snooped around without telling you what she was looking for, before triumphantly holding up the keys to your bike. They were hanging on the hook where they always were, but no one had ever thought to pay attention to them before.
Alexia yelled at you like she'd never yelled before, about the dangers of riding a motorcycle, about lying to her, about not listening when the older girls had tried to keep you safe. She was going on and on, and while Irene and Lucy had started off looking like they agreed with her, they were also definitely over the lecture after a few minutes.
You were in hot water with Alexia as soon as the words left your mouth; you weren't stupid, you knew how she would react to what you had just said, but you had always been hotheaded and her hovering and nagging had gotten to you today.
"You don't need to know about everything in my life, Alexia! I've gone skydiving, and I haven't died. I swam with sharks, and didn't die. Cliff jumping? Zip lining? Bungee jumping? Drag racing? I have done all of that, all since I've been with this team, and I am completely fine. You aren't my mother, and I don't need you to act like you are. I don't need your opinion on everything I do, I don't need you watching my every move. I can do what I want." You snapped. Alexia took a step back from where she'd been standing, a look of hurt flashing across her face.
"Y/n, you're way out of line," Lucy said, looking angry again. Irene nodded her head in agreement.
"No, no. She's right. I'm not her mother. She can do what she wants." Alexia said softly. She dropped the keys onto the counter, and walked out your door without another word.
You were flooded with guilt. Alexia had been more of a parent figure than anyone else in your life had ever bothered to be. You were grateful for it, you really were. She was part of the reason you were the person you were today, having spent the last of your teenage years on the team with her. She'd always watched out for you, always took the time to make sure you were okay. She'd expressed to you, before, her worry that she was overstepping, doing more than you wanted her to do. You'd thrown that right back in her face.
"You need to apologize. That wasn't fair of you." Irene said coldly.
"I just-"
"-No. You and I both know everything that Alexia has done for you, gone out of her way to do for you. She loves and cares about you, obviously you doing stupid and dangerous things is going to bother her." Irene's voice was deadly serious, arms crossed over her chest as she stared you down.
"When you moved here from England, do you know that Alexia called Leah, and talked to her for hours trying to get to know you, and make the transition as easy as possible?" Lucy cut in.
"When you got that concussion last season and you were in the hospital, she sat awake, all night, next to your bed, too worried to rest." Irene continued.
"She has an England shirt with your name on it that she wears to watch you play, did you know that? No one is allowed to see her in it, but she doesn't miss any of your games for England. Not one."
"Your first Christmas here, she went all out with Christmas decorations. You were living with her then, and she wanted the day to be special, even if it wasn't the way she normally did it."
They were switching off, seemingly having endless examples of all the things Alexia had done for you. You were blinking, hard, memories of how easy Alexia had made everything for you flashing through your mind. Lucy spoke more gently.
"You were 16 when you got here, y/n. She has done more for you than anyone. You're her kid whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter that you're 19 now, it doesn't matter that you don't live with her anymore."
"She deserves better than you lying to her about your dangerous hobbies, and she deserves better than how you just treated her. Fix it." Irene finished, tone still just as cold as it had been. She was, herself, rather protective of Alexia, you knew. Her reaction was completely warranted, you knew that too.
Irene turned then too, walking out your door and shutting it behind her. Only Lucy remained, staring at you critically.
"I didn't mean to hurt her feelings." You said weakly.
"I know. You did, though."
"I don't know why I said any of that, I was just annoyed."
"You're young, it's a young person thing to not think before you speak. You do it all the time, normally it doesn't end as poorly as this did." Lucy tried to joke, hating the sad frown on your face, even if you probably deserved it. You just shook your head, looking up at her as a single tear fell down your cheek.
"What do I do, Luce?"
"Give it a couple hours, and then go apologize. And sell the damn motorcycle. Or I'll remove the engine or something." At this, you did smile, if only weakly. "C'mere," she said gruffly, pulling you into a tight hug. "It'll be fine, kid. Alexia would forgive you for anything."
You hoped she was right.
-----
You stood at Alexia's door, about a half hour later. You'd meant to wait as long as Lucy had said, but you couldn't do it. You were fidgeting with your fingers as you waited for her to answer, not really sure what would greet you.
You'd seen Alexia mad, obviously. And you'd seen her sad, though less often. But you'd never seen her sad because of something you'd done. It made you feel sick, that you'd repaid her years of kindness with rude comments that completely disregarded how much she had done for you, because you were slightly annoyed with her behavior. If she was sad, you weren't sure how you could fix it.
When she answered the door, you were stunned, stunned, to see Alexia's eyes slightly red and puffy, like she'd been crying.
"Hola pequeña," she said roughly, wiping at her face as if to rid it of the evidence as to how upset she was.
"Can I come in?" You asked.
"Of course," she said, stepping to the side immediately to let you in. She led you to the living room, and you both took seats on the couch. The Alexia sitting next to you was not one you were used to seeing; you could tell how hurt she was by what you said. You could also tell she was trying to pretend she wasn't hurt, whether because she didn't want to make you feel bad, or because she was embarrassed at the obvious and uncharacteristic display of emotion. You chewed on your lip for a minute, trying to figure out how to apologize.
"Ale, I'm so sorry," you began.
"It's fine," she said, brushing your apology off. She tried to smile at you, but it was weak, and it didn't reach her eyes. It was going to be hard for you to get out what you needed to say, you knew. You weren't good at expressing your emotions, and you'd never really admitted to Alexia what an important role she had played in your life. You tried to show her through actions, but your words earlier had undone anything you'd accomplished in terms of letting her know how much you appreciated her.
"No, it's not fine. I was completely unfair to you. I didn't mean what I said, not at all. I... you've been... for me..." You trailed off, words getting jumbled. "I don't know why this is so hard for me to say."
"It's alright, pequeña, I get it," Alexia said, and she did sound less upset, like she knew what you were trying to say.
"I'm not used to having people in my life that care. I mean, I am now, because I have you and the team, but it still surprises me sometimes when I do something, and people... people care about what happens to me. You've always cared, though. Even when I was an angsty 16 year old with an attitude problem, and I didn't want you to care, you did anyway."
You take a big breath, trying to steady your voice. "You've been more of a parent to me than anyone. I value your opinion, I really appreciate that you care enough to be mad at me when I do something stupid. I'm sorry I said otherwise, because that wasn't true. I was just frustrated, but you deserve better than that. I'm really sorry about what I said, and I'm sorry that I don't express how much I appreciate everything you've done for me."
You take a peak at Alexia once you've finished talking, and find her looking out the window, jaw set tightly. At first, you think she's upset about something that you said. You see her lip wobble slightly, though, before she bites down on it, and realize what's actually going on. Your captain schools her features, before turning to you.
"Thank you for apologizing. I... I was hurt by what you said. I can't help but worry about you, and I know I probably go overboard with it sometimes, but I look at you and see the scared 16 year old you were when you got here, and all I want to do is protect you."
Alexia shuffled closer to you on the couch. "And I know you appreciate me, pequeña. You might not say it, but you show it. You don't need to thank me for caring about you, though. You shouldn't ever feel like you have to thank anyone for that. You deserve love, pequeña, I hope you know that."
You fall somewhat unsteadily into her arms, which wrap around you in a comforting embrace. You blink your tears away, wondering how your apology to Alexia turned into her comforting you, but that was the magic of Alexia Putellas.
"Y/n?” She says, chin resting on top of your head.
"Yeah?"
"Did you really do all those things you said you did?" She sounds slightly ill at the idea, and you wince, wishing you hadn't overshared all of those details.
"Yeah," you answer meekly.
"Dios mio," she mumbles.
"I'll sell the motorcycle," you say placatingly. Alexia lets out a short laugh at that, pulling back from you to look you in the eye.
"I know you will. You aren't ever riding that thing again."
"Well..." You said, unable to stop yourself from glancing towards where you had parked said motorcycle.
"You did not... drive it here... to apologize to me..." Alexia choked out, baffled.
"I did," she groans in exasperation. "But only because I'm taking it back to the dealership right after this. I called, they're gonna buy it back off me." You smile sheepishly at her.
She glares at you. "You better be telling the truth."
"I am, Ale, I promise." You rise, heading back towards the door.
"Good. Off you go, then. Get rid of that deathtrap. And wear your helmet. And drive under the speed limit. And stick to side streets, not busy ones. And-"
"-Alexia, I've been riding it for a year, I'll be fine." You say, fighting the urge to roll your eyes. The blonde looks genuinely anxious at the idea of you driving off on it. "I promise, the dealership isn't far from here, and I'll text you once I'm back home."
She nods, looking at the motorcycle parked outside with an expression full of disdain. "Drive safe," she says finally, and you promise that you will.
-----
You did drive safe. It wasn't your fault that someone ran a red light, or that it just happened to occur right as you were in the middle of the intersection. It wasn't your fault that the car practically t-boned you, the last minute braking doing very little to ease the impact. It wasn't your fault that you were thrown off the bike, sliding and rolling painfully along the pavement until you came to a stop several feet away.
It wasn't your fault.
Still, as you looked up at the sky, feeling yourself begin to lose consciousness, you knew that the fact that it wasn't your fault would not get you out of trouble with Alexia. She couldn't kill you if you were already dead, though, you thought. That was horrifying, and you jerked your eyes back open, trying to stay awake. It was no use, though, and your eyes closed against your will, head rolling weakly to the side on the concrete as spots flooded your vision, until everything around you was dark and quiet.

Lost in Translation 🇳🇴📰
Ingrid Engen x reader
warning : fluffy 💭💗
summary :
In your cozy Barcelona apartment, you and Ingrid sit down for a Norwegian lesson. In hopes to help you prepare for your upcoming trip to Norway and making you feel more confident about meeting her family.
Ingrid sat at the small round kitchen table, sunlight pouring in through the large windows of your cozy apartment in Barcelona. Her long hair was tied into a loose bun, her focus completely on the cup of coffee in her hand. Across from her, you sat fingers tapping lightly on the notebook in front of you.
"Okay," you started, flipping to a new page, "I’m ready. Teach me some more Norwegian."
Ingrid chuckled softly, setting down her coffee. "You’re so determined, I love it."
You had been trying to learn Norwegian for weeks now, ever since Ingrid had playfully teased you for only knowing how to say "jeg elsker deg" (i love you) which, to be fair, was a solid start. But you wanted more. After all, Ingrid had worked so hard to learn English when she moved abroad for football, and you felt like it was time to return the effort.
"Let’s start with something simple today," Ingrid suggested. "How about we go over some common phrases?"
You nodded eagerly, holding your pen above the notebook, ready to jot down every word. Ingrid smiled, her blue eyes sparkling with affection as she watched you.
"Alright, how do you say 'good morning' again?" she asked, knowing you'd already learned this one.
"God morgen," you said confidently.
"Very good! Now, if I wanted to say 'have a nice day,' I’d say...?"
"Um…" You hesitated, wrinkling your nose as you tried to remember. Ingrid leaned in, her voice soft as she gave you a hint.
"Ha… en…"
"Ha en fin dag!" you exclaimed, finally remembering.
"Perfect!" Ingrid grinned. "You’re getting the hang of it. Soon you'll be fluent."
You laughed, shaking your head. "I wouldn’t go that far, but I’m trying."
Ingrid leaned across the table, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. "You’re doing amazing. But, maybe we should add some more useful phrases? What would you say if you were visiting Norway with me?"
"Like, asking for directions?" you asked, scribbling the new idea into your notebook.
"Exactly," she replied. "Let’s say you’re lost and need to ask someone where the train station is. You would say, "Unnskyld, hvor er togstasjonen?""
"Wait… "Unnskyld"? That means 'excuse me,' right?"
"Exactly." Ingrid beamed. "Then "hvor er" means 'where is,' and "togstasjonen" is the train station."
You repeated the phrase a couple of times, trying to wrap your tongue around the unfamiliar sounds. Ingrid watched, her expression softening as she saw the way you furrowed your brows in concentration.
"It sounds so much better when you say it," you mumbled, embarrassed at your attempt.
Ingrid laughed lightly, reaching across the table to take your hand. "You’re being too hard on yourself. I love hearing you speak Norwegian. It’s cute."
You rolled your eyes playfully, but your heart swelled at her words. "Alright, what else should I learn?"
Ingrid tilted her head thoughtfully before a mischievous smile crept across her lips. "How about some romantic phrases? For example, "Du er vakker"."
You blinked, looking at her suspiciously. "Okay, I’m going to assume that’s something nice, but I’m not sure."
"It means, 'You are beautiful,'" Ingrid said softly, her gaze locking with yours.
Your cheeks flushed, and you glanced away for a moment, suddenly flustered. "You say that all the time, but now it’s even sweeter knowing what it actually means."
Ingrid chuckled, standing up from her seat and walking over to you. She wrapped her arms around your shoulders from behind, her chin resting on the top of your head as she whispered, "Jeg elsker deg."
You smiled, feeling the warmth of her body against yours. "I know that one," you said, your voice teasing. "I love you too."
She kissed the top of your head gently before sitting back down. "You’re getting there, love. Soon, you’ll be able to speak with my family when we go to Norway for Christmas."
"Yeah, about that," you said, your tone turning a bit nervous. "What if I completely embarrass myself?"
Ingrid shook her head, her expression turning serious, but still filled with love. "You won’t. Trust me, they’re going to adore you no matter how much Norwegian you know. They’ll probably be impressed you’re learning at all."
You sighed, feeling a bit reassured. "I just want to be able to talk to them without you having to translate everything."
Ingrid smiled gently, reaching across the table to hold your hand again. "You’re already doing more than enough. And besides, we’ll be together. That’s what matters, right?"
You nodded, your worries slowly melting away as you gazed into her eyes. "Right."
A comfortable silence fell over the room, only the sound of birds chirping from outside filling the air. Then, after a moment, you cleared your throat and asked, "Okay, serious question though: how do I ask for more cake in Norwegian?"
Ingrid burst out laughing, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Oh, I should’ve known you’d want to learn that. It’s "Kan jeg få mer kake?""
You repeated the phrase a few times, testing it out, before grinning. "Perfect. Now I’m ready for Norway."
Ingrid laughed again, her face lighting up with joy. "I think you’re going to do just fine."
You knew you wouldn’t be fluent by the time you went to Norway with Ingrid, but with her by your side, you felt like you could take on anything. And if all else failed, at least you knew how to ask for more cake.

Just the babysitter
Summary: You babysit Alessia’s daughter, Lille while she goes out for the evening. You end up falling asleep with Lille on you, and when you wake up; Lille is gone.
Note: No triggers. The song about is the Norwegian Lullaby you sing to Lille, have a listen.
You found yourself infront of Alessia’s apartment. It was at the 13th floor of a relative new building. It had all the things you could ever need within a reach distance; a gym, a coffee shop, a roof terrace, a resultant and a pool. The building was tall, the kind of tall where you get chills down your spine during thunderstorms because the building would slowly sway to keep itself steady.
Your hand reached for the door as you knocked three times. It was a semi fresh friendship so you figured out that it would be a bit odd to just valse in case she had someone over. The pair of you had been introduced over Frida, your friend from back home in Norway because of Alessia’s daughter. Her donor was Norwegian which for Alessia meant that she wanted to expose her daughter to the Norwegian culture. That was how you had ended up babysitting for Alessia once her mother had to go home. It wasn’t really a big issue for you because Alessia’s little daughter was an incredibly easygoing baby who you were more than happy to spend time with. And you certainly didn’t mind Lille’s mother.
With that, you were ripped out of your chain of thoughts as the door swung up infront of you. “Ah, Y/N! Thank you so much for babysitting, Lille is so excited to see you” she stated as Lille was attached at her hip. Her hand was in her mouth, but when she saw you she got the biggest grin on her face. That grin broke into a smile and a pair of tiny hands that reached towards you. You instinctively stepped into the apartment and lifted Lille off Alessia’s hip before you poked Lille’s nose making her giggle. “No worries, there is no other way I’d spend my Saturday afternoon now is there” you said as you looked at Lille who smiled towards you, her little hand touching your cheek. It was true, you didn’t have too many friends since you were still relatively new in England. People tended to bother you, but babies? You loved babies. You left behind a bunch of nephews and nieces in Norway so this did good for your homesickness. Alessia looked at you and for a split second, you swear she was blushing.
“Alright, Lille, mommy will be back after you have gone night-night, okay? Be nice to Y/N and give her lots of kisses and cuddles” Alessia said while stroking Lille’s cheek before she kissed the top of her head. “Alright momma, now go to your concert! You look stunning!” You couldn’t believe your own words, but Alessia gave you a heartwarming few seconds of eye contact while she smiled sincerely before looking nervously down at her shoes. For a second, it looked like she blushed. A few seconds of thinking lead you to the conclusion that she was just tired from practice, and besides that, very straight.
“You have my number and Frida’s number, call if anything worries you. I’ll be home around 12” Alessia said as she grabbed her purse from the rack behind you before she lightly kissed your cheek making you turn colours like a lizard into a bright red tone. The feeling of heat building up in your cheeks was nostalgic to high school and your mouth couldn’t spit out any words at all. You only realised how stunned you were when Alessia slammed the door shut and locked in on the way out. Lille looked at you. “Ma-ma?” she said with a pout on her pink lips. “Momma is gonna go with Tante Frida and Aunty Leah to watch Taylor Swift! So Lille and Tante is gonna have tantetid!” You said as Lille clapped her hands while you headed for the livingroom.
—
After a good hour of play, Lille was getting fussier by the minute. The toy box was a mess and finding the little white cat that Lille loved wasn’t an easy task. You rumbled through the box like there was no tomorrow, but with no use as the search was unsuccessful. Lille then suddenly make a screetch. The chicken teddy she got from Katie suddenly comes flying and ends up being whacked into the wall across from her. Your head turned in shock towards Lille.
“Lille! Hvorfor kastet du kyllingen din? Nå får han au-au"
«NEI!»
«Er du sulten? Miss grumpy pants»
Lille smacked her lips in agreement on the suggestion of food. If it was one thing Lille loved, it was porridge or grøt as the Norwegians calls it. Lille’s favorite was porridge with strawberry and blueberries. The little princess gets what the little princess wants. Lille crawled towards you while cooing with the biggest smile on her face. Soon enough, she was in your arms heading to the kitchen.
—
“Here comes the train, tooot tooot” young say as Lille giggles and accepts the spoonful. The smell of porridge is wonderful. The mixture of oats, milk, cinnamon and the tiniest bit of honey wraps the apartment in a warm fuzzy blanket of comfort and bliss. It makes you feel nostalgic really. As a kid, your grandparents would make you porridge if you struggled to fall asleep and the bland food never failed to make you tired.
Lille grabs the spoon from you, trying to utilise the utensils and her mommy not being home. The try is deemed to be unsuccessful as porridge goes flying out in the room. You inspect the damages and see the goey mixture stuck to the refrigerator, the sink, the wall and even the chairs. Just when you turn around, Lille pours the bowl over her head leaving you dumbfounded and speechless. Lille doesn’t care, she just babbles away as she rubs the food into her skin. Your eyes widen in shock when you come to the realisation that this means bath time. “Oh my, does this little bean need a bath?” you say as you push the highchair from the table to inspect the damage. Her onesie is covered, smothered in food and so is her blonde hair. Lille giggles when you pick her up and you just shake your head while smiling. “Syns du det er morsomt?” You ask and Lille replies by giggling even louder.
—
An hour later, Lille has been in the bath. You have played with her duckies, washed her hair with strawberry shampoo and dressed her in one of the pj’s you found in Lille’s bedroom. You are now walking back and forth in her dim room while bouncing the little girl who isn’t far from falling asleep. The light is dimmed, the curtains are pulled in front of the window and you can hear the wind picking up. You notice how it seems to startle Lille, so you quickly begin to sing a Norwegian lullaby to her. She dosent seem to want to calm down as the wind picks up, so you get yourself seated in the rocking chair next to her crib. You slowly use the chair to rock back and forth in a rytmic slow pace which seems to do the trick.
“Are you tired, pretty girl? You had a long day. Mommy is gonna be home in a few hours and then everything will be back to normal. But tante loves spending time with you, even when you are silly or covered in oats.” you say softly as you carefully stroke her chin. You can hear her muffled soft snoring start to pick up which is when you know is the golden window for you to transfer her into her crib. The transfer to the crib goes seamlessly and that means one thing. You are now left to scrub the kitchen clean which you dread because every porridge lover knows that the mixture becomes like cement once it has dried down.
—
Once you finish scrubbing the floor, cabinets, refrigerator, Lille’s chair and the table; you finally go to the living room to relax. The baby call is next to you in case Lille wakes up; but something tells you that she is out for the rest of the night. The lounge chair is your favourite spot, so you situate yourself in the big chair with a blanket and the magazine you brought with you. The magazine is your favourite, filled with everything from delicious recipes to knitting patterns and the latest fashion. Your mother sends you the magazine weekly as it’s only available in Norway. Whenever you get a new magazine, it’s like a piece of home in London. It radiates the same comfort you got from your teddy as a child. You don’t really understand if it’s the magazine or the kind act from your mother that makes you feel comforted. Not that it matters, London is a big city and you will do anything to have some sense of familiarity. The comfort of the blanket, the magazine and the sounds of the wind makes you feel tired, and soon enough you are fast asleep.
—
You wake up to Lille sobbing in the baby monitor a little while later, so you shoot up to go get her. It’s not the hungry crying or the pain crying, it’s the comfort crying. Lille sometimes just likes to be held, and you are always happy to oblige.
Her hands reach for you when you find her in her crib and you immediately pick her up. The maternal instinct in you is flourishing whenever you take care of babies. Lille’s favourite blanket comes along with her from the crib and you place her in your arms as you walk with her in the room to soothe her. She calms down easily, but for whatever reason she won’t fall asleep. You decided to sing a Norwegian lullaby that your mother sang to you as a child.
Du skal ikke tro det blir sommer
Før æ jage vinteren bort
Og gjør så sola kan skinne
Så det kan bli sommer litt fort
Æ gjør sånn at blomstern vil blomstre
At gresset blir grønt der du går
Så du kan gå barbeint i enga
For æ smelta snøen i går
It works like a charm and she’s fast asleep within minutes. You sit down in the big lounge chair just admiring the little cutie as you jawn while leaning into the chair. The decision to stay in the chair a little incase she wakes up is an easy choice. You lean back in the chair and put your feet up on the little foot rest.
-
Your eyes shoot up feeling confused. The confusion is laying around your head like a thick layer of dust. Its the kind of confusion where your heart is beating rapidly and you cant seem to know your own name. You try to get your eyes to work properly, but you just sit there staring straight forward blinking. That's until you feel a slight panic. THE BABY. You look down at your hands with a sense of terror in your heart. You swear you had the baby just a second ago.
Could you have dropped her? Could she have woken up and crawled out? What if the balcony door was open? What if someone kidnapped her?
"Oh my god? OH MY GOD"
The rocking chair and the wool blanket gets left behind as you shoot yourself up like a rocket, desperate to locate the baby. The crib is next to you, but there is no baby in the crib. Its still dark outside. You cannot for the life of you understand where the baby could've gone. Maybe you didnt have any motherly instincts after all?
The anxiety started to creep into your head when you heard something drop to the floor in the livingroom. The direction of your steps changed and soon you found yourself standing in the doorway leading to the hall. Down the hall to the left was the livingroom and you instantly felt all the hairs on your back rise when you hear a faint man's voice. The lump in your throat grew by the second.
"Y/N?"
If you could describe what getting shot felt like without actually getting shot, it was this feeling. It felt like all the blood in your body stopped, like your heart stopped pumping, like someone pulled the ground away from underneath your feet. Then your gaze met Alessia's gaze instantly softening your body.
"Im sorry, i didnt mean to scare you! Come on girlie, lunch is ready and Lille is starving! She has been begging to go into her room to see you, but i figured i'd let you sleep."
You shook your head and smiled to Alessia who was carrying Lille. Lille reached her hands towards you and you stroke her cheek softly before the tree of you headed into the kitchen. On the kitchen table, there is pancakes and all kinds of fruits and berries. There is lemonade, milk and apple juice. Your stomach alwardly decides to do a loud growl which causes Alessia to giggle.
-
An hour later, you have helped do the dishes and done a little lipsync contest. The mood is light and it’s been a blast. You find yourself in the hallway with Alessia and Lille, not really wanting to leave.
“Thank you again for babysitting, I’m so glad to have you in our lives.”
You blush on the compliment.
“Thank you again for the lunch and sorry for falling asleep in Lille’s ro-“
“Don’t even worry about it, anytime”
Alessia smiles and there is a split second of awkwardness. You chuckle and kiss Lille’s cheek before saying goodbye.
-
A few hours later you are with Frido, digging in on a lasagna when she gets a call on her phone. She declines it, but looks at it like Taylor swift was just announced president. She turns the phone towards you and your jaw drops.
“You said you were just babysitting? Dosent look like that to me babe!”
-
@Alessia: Grateful to have someone that my daughter falls asleep on.💗 @Y/N

Despite you leaving for Norway today, your boss asked you to cover the championship game, with the benefit of letting you leave during the 7th inning stretch.
Instead of taking notes, you just sat and watched the game. Ken was there cheering for his team, despite the broken arm. You tried to avoid looking at Ken, but it was difficult when the jumbotron would feature him every ten minutes. To your knowledge, he hasn’t said anything about the one-night stand in college. Which was surprising, because you were ready to come clean about it all.
“Hey Y/N”?
You turn to Ami.
“Is everything all right”? She asks.
“Yeah, I’m totally fine”! You assured her.
“Really? Cause you haven’t touched your recorder”. She points to the device that is resting on the table.
“Oh, that old thing? I don’t need it”. You laughed. Ami looked at you unamused.
“Is this about Ken”? She asks. Your side eyed her slowly. “What makes you think this is about Ken”?
“Y/N”. Ami raised her eyebrow. “Every time Ken appears on the jumbotron, you look away. Also, you’ve been staring at Ken’s social media page”. She points to your phone on your lap. Your phone was on low brightness but Kenji’s X page was still visible to Ami’s eyes. You turn your phone off and put it on the table facing down.
“You are psychotic”.
“It’s just an observation”. Ami shrugs.
You continue to watch the game, mentally counting down the minutes you have until you finally get to leave.
“Have you talked to him since the interview”? Ami asks.
“No. And I don’t have a reason to”.
“Maybe you should at least see him before you leave”. She suggested
“Like I said, I don’t have a reason to talk to him. He was merely an assignment”. You lied.
As soon as the announcer announces the 7th inning stretch, you begin to pack your bags.
“And that’s my cue to leave”. You smiled as you put your bag straps on your shoulder
“Before you go, a little piece of advice”. Ami says halting you to a stop.
“You’re the youngest reporter in the business. You’ve done so much for yourself. So don’t be afraid to be spontaneous sometimes”.
You slowly nodded. “Okay then, well, it was nice working with you too Ami”. You exited the media room and then started to speed walk to the parking lot
~
Kenji’s eyes dart up at the media room and then back to the game. Every time his eyes looked into the room, his heart sank. He looks at the empty chair with sadness. You were already gone.
“SATO! EYE ON THE GAME”! Coach Shimura yells.
Sato sat up straight and watched the game, trying to not think about you.
“Dude, you okay? You’ve been out of focus since you got back”. His teammate, Ryouta, says.
“I’m fine”. Ken says, trying to watch the game.
“Really? Because your eyes keep wandering at the media box”. Ryouta presses on
“Um, Ryouta? Enough about me, more on the game”.
“If this is about the reporter chick, you should go after her”.
Ken groaned. “Ryouta, drop it. Y/N’s already gone. She’s probably on that plane right now”.
~
“UGH WHAT THE HELL”! You honked at the car in front of you. “DRIVE FASTER”! You yelled. You looked out the window and saw a line of cars ahead of yours. Of all the days the kaiju had to destroy the highway, it just had to be the day you were leaving. You slightly slide into your seat.
“Don’t be afraid to be spontaneous”. Ami echoed in your mind.
“Ugh, what is up with her and her psychic advice”? You scoff as you tap your pointer finger on the steering wheel.
The world was so persistent on guilt-tripping you today. While you were loading your luggage’s into your car, all of the billboards surrounding your apartment had Ken’s face plastered front and center with a chicken leg in his hand. During your drive to the stadium, there were posters of Ken and his signature colognes on the telephone poles. And now, as you were waiting forever in your car, a blimp flew over the highway every few minutes with a beer ad starring Ken.
“Tastes like a home run”. He would say repeatedly.
You groaned. This was a sign. A sign that you have to make things right with Kenji. You stepped on the gas pedal, driving out of the line of cars and off to the nearest exit.
~
“You know, I don’t think it’s too late to go find her and tell her how you feel. It’ll make you chivalrous”. Said Ryouta.
Kenji pinched the bridge of his nose. “Ryouta. Game. Focus”.
“I know, I know, but I just think, you shouldn’t go in with life without any regrets. Life is too short, and I think she would like it if she reached out”.
Kenji turns to Ryouta. ready to yell at him. But for some reason, he was right. The least Kenji could do is head to the airport and apologize to you in person. But he was stuck here, afraid that one wrong move could piss off his coach.
The crowd cheers as another player from the Giants steps up to the plate, ready to hit the ball. Kenji looks at his watch and then at the sight of the game.
“Go, I’ll cover you”. Ryouta whispers in Ken’s ear.
“Thank you, Ryouta”. Ken pats his shoulder and runs out of the box unnoticed.
~
You quickly got out of your car and ran off, not caring if it was locked or not. You ran towards the stadium in hopes that you could catch Ken. You hear the crowds roar as you almost reach the entrance. A small round object launched into the sky, falling out of the dome. You didn’t pay attention to it and focused on the entrance.
“Y/N”! Someone yelled.
But before you could turn your head, everything went pitch black.
~
“Y/N”?
You open your eyes and a bright light blinds you. Someone helped you sit up and put an ice pack on your head.
“Y/N, are you okay”? You turn to see three Ken Satos looking down at you.
“Ken? I thought you were an only child”.
He chuckles, “It’s probably the concussion talking”.
Eventually, your eyes started to adjust to reality, but the pounding headache was still lingering.
“What happened”?
“You got hit by a baseball. Again. I found you unconscious by the stadium entrance”.
“Oh, so that’s what it was”.
“On the bright side, it wasn’t me who knocked you out this time”. He laughs.
You try to laugh, but the pain in your head begins to throb. Ken adjusts the ice pack on your head.
“So, did you guys”…
Ken shows the championship ring on his ring finger. You smile. “Congrats”.
“Thanks”.
“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be celebrating with your team”?
“I wanted to see if you were okay and to apologize for everything, for what happened during college, what I said last month, and for blackmailing you. I was completely selfish. You have every right to be mad at me”.
“I’m not really mad at you. For one thing, I should be apologizing to you too. For what happened in college. I was so focused on my career that I wasn’t being self-aware, and ended up hurting your feelings. I wasn’t using you for any story. But it didn’t look that way when I left that morning. I’m sorry ”.
Kenji smiles. “I guess everything was built by a few misunderstandings”.
“Yeah, it was. I’m glad we got to sort it out”.
You look up at the clock on the wall.
8:51 PM
“Great, I missed my flight. And considering I just ended my lease on my apartment, looks like I have to go hotel hunting”.
“Or, you can stay with me for the night”. Ken suggested.
“Are you sure, I don’t want to intrude”-
“I want you to. As a way to make up for everything. Also, Emi really misses you”.
~
You walk into Kenji’s house and the feeling of peace returns to you. The first thing you do when entering the home is head to the basement to see Emi. As soon as you step out of the elevator, Emi immediately runs up to you, chirping gleefully and jumping up and down with joy.
“I told you, she’s Y/N deprived”.
You laugh. “Well, I missed you too Emi”.
For the rest of the night you both played with Emi until she got tired. After putting her in the tube, you both settled down on the couch. You were trying to find flights for tomorrow, while Ken was trying to find his energy drink in the cooler.
“Thanks for letting me stay. Despite everything”. You said as you turned off your phone.
Kenji grabs his drink and cracks it open “It’s no problem. Like I said, I wanted to make it up to you”. He gives you a soft smile before drinking from the can.
“So, did you find another flight”? He asks.
“Yep, leaves tomorrow afternoon”.
“That’s great”.
You raise an eyebrow. “You aren’t going to try to stop me”?
“Nah, I don’t want to get in the way again”. He says.
You were both sitting in silence, watching Emi intently while Mina sang her a lullaby.
“Although”… He adds
You turn to Kenji. He takes your hands and holds them gently.
“I don’t want to go the rest of my life without telling you how much you mean to me. You’re more than just Emi’s babysitter. You’re everything that I want. For the last two months, I never felt so alone whenever I’m with you. You make me want to become the best version of myself and become a better person. I know I can’t make you stay, but I want you to know that I love you”.
~
That night, you were lying in your bed, staring at the ceiling. You were thinking about Kenji’s confession. About how you were about to respond, but he ran out to do “Ultraman business”, knowing all too well that he can’t fight with a broken arm. But you knew deep down, he was scared. Scared that he was going to repeat the same mistakes, scared that you were going to laugh at him.
You hear a buzz coming from your phone and you turn it on.
UNITED AIRLINES
FLIGHT FROM TOKYO TO OSLO
Boarding Time: 1:05
Flight Time: 1:45 PM
CHECK-IN NOW
Your stomach turns as you look at it. Instead of being excited, you lay there with an ultimatum. Kenji or your job. Your job made you happy. You achieved more promotions and accomplishments than any other reporter. You were traveling the world, and you were getting so much praise from everyone. While you were happy, deep down you weren’t satisfied. On the other hand, being with Kenji brought you peace. Sure you two didn’t get along at first, but as time passed by, you were comfortable around him. You haven’t felt any comfort since you started your current job. You’re scared to think about what life would be like if you left Japan already. How upsetting it would be if you left Kenji behind without telling him…
You love him too.
Your cheeks heat up, and you feel your heart beating faster.
You love Kenji.
The billboards, Ami’s advice, and the baseball incident led you back to Kenji. And this time, the world was giving you a second chance.
So with your impulses ready to take the risk, you begin to text your boss.
~
The next morning, you wake up to the smell of something burning. You got up and ran out of your room. When you get to the kitchen, you see Kenji putting down a plate of food on the table.
“Hey, you’re awake”! He smiles. “Breakfast is almost ready”!
You look down at the plate of food. The toast was almost burnt to a crisp. The bacon looks too oily and ready to turn into ash. As for the eggs, it looks completely overcooked and a little black.
“I know it looks unappetizing, but if you put a lot of ketchup on the eggs, it’ll mask the ashy taste”. Kenji says earnestly.
“You made this for me”? You look back at Kenji.
“Well yeah. You made dinner for me multiple times, so I thought I would do something for you too. Also, you have a flight today so I just wanted to make sure you eat well and”-
Before Kenji could finish his thought, you walked up to him and locked your lips onto his. Kenji stands there in shock, but eventually returns the kiss, holding you close with his arm. He held you tightly not wanting to let you go. You pull away to catch your breath, Kenji puts his forehead onto yours, his breath shaky.
“I canceled my flight”. You say, finally speaking up.
His eyes widened. “What? What about Norway”?
“I told my boss that I want to continue working in Japan. He was more than understanding. So he extended my residency here. Meaning, I’m staying”.
“But why Y/N? What about your dreams”?
“Norway can wait. I am still young after all. Plus I don’t want to go on with the rest of my life without telling you… I love you too, Kenji”.
Kenji smiles and kisses you again.
“I love you Y/N. I promise to never take you for granted, and to make every minute of every day worth”-
Suddenly, you both hear a high pitch alarm go off and see a visible trail of black clouds coming from the oven. Kenji’s happy face turned into horror as he ran towards the oven.
“NO NO NO NOT THE HASH BROWNS”.
You tried to stifle your laughter as he tried to grab the tray from the oven with one hand. You grabbed an oven mitt and helped him take it out, the smell of burnt potatoes hitting your nose. Kenji throws the burnt potato patties in the trash can. He sighs as he grabs his phone from his pocket
“How about we take out”.

BONUS SCENE (cause I love my patient pookies)
“So what’s gonna happen now that you’re staying in Japan”? Kenji asks as he takes a bite of his ham and cheese omelette.
“Well, I get to obsess over one of the greatest living players in history”. You responded as you finished your bacon strip.
Kenji sits up tall with a toothy grin.
“I mean, Ohtani is so amazing. I mean, his batting average is perfect”. You dreamily sigh. Ken pouts at you, making you laugh.
“Aww you jealous”?
“Pft, no”. He crosses his arms and huffs.
You put your to go box down on the coffee table and scoot closer to Kenji.
“Awww it’s okay”. You cooed while slightly pinching Kenji’s cheeks. “You’re still the second greatest player of all time”.
Suddenly, Kenji throws his to go box on the table and tackles you down on the couch. You screamed as Kenji begins to tickle you.
“Hey, you’re arm”! You breathed out while you point at his sling.
“Eh, it’s almost healed anyway”. He shrugs, continuing his assault.
“Stop”! You laugh.
“Say it”!
“Okay, okay”! You breathed out. “You, Kenji Sato, is the greatest living baseball player”.
“Better than Ohtani”?
“Better than Ohtani”.
“Yes”! He hugs you tightly as you both fell back on the couch.
“I’m glad you’re staying with me”. Kenji whispers and kisses your forehead. You cuddle closer to him, hearing his steady breathing and relaxed heart beat.
“I’m glad I get to stay with you”.

Prompt: Tim and Dani have a very good vacation in Norway alone
(I got way too into this lmaooo)
Tim looked down at the girl who tried to mug him. “So this is where you recommend going to eat?”
The girl, Dani, looked up at him and raised a hand. He sighed, shook his head a little, and handed her another crisp bill. She smiled and pocketed the cash. Although she was a money-hungry, greedy little thief, she was so ridiculously cute that Tim couldn’t help but forgive her.
Lord help him, his brothers would absolutely tease him ruthlessly for this.
“Yep,” she answered. “The food’s good and the staff here are nice.”
Tim looked at her again. She was wearing worn clothes, and she didn’t look warm enough as she stood there and stared back him, a hint of defiance in her gaze. Tim then turned back to the restaurant and said, “Alright then. You should come with me and recommend some dishes.”
Dani looked befuddled and she glared at him. “Why would I do that?”
“I’ll pay for whatever you want to eat too.”
She relented with only a little hesitation. Tim smirked in victory and followed her inside. As they sat down, Dani ordered everything. He was pleasantly surprised to see her speak such fluent Norwegian despite being American. He had thought she was someone stranded in Norway with no money and had resorted to stealing to get back to US soil, but perhaps it was something else?
He stopped thinking though, as she finished up their order and turned to him.
They stared at each other. He looked at her cat-like eyes, her icy blue irises, her pink lips, her strangely delicate features tinted with a hint of wildness and sharpness like a tiger, her raven hair.
Stephanie would probably laugh at him right now for being down bad. In fact, he had already crossed the line and was already well on his way to being down atrocious.
They observed each other in silence for a long, long moment until Dani eventually frowned, her eyebrows dipping before she snapped, “Why do you keep staring at me!”
“You’re pretty to look at,” Tim said, leaning on his fist.
She blushed bright red. “W-What?!”
Tim smiled. “You’re cute. Did anybody ever tell you that?”
“Screw you!” She hissed like a disgruntled cat. Then she stiffened and said, “I want another twenty dollars!”
Tim smoothly handed her another bill and she turned crimson, but didn’t take it. Tim folded it and put it on the table for her. Dani glared at him and the bill with alternative glances, looking more and more flustered by the second, not knowing what to do with his advances.
Tim felt like he wanted to buy them both tickets back to the US.
Actually, screw it.
“Should I buy you plane tickets so we could go back to the US together?”
Dani hissed with pink cheeks. “Fuck you.”
Tim smirked. “I wish.”
Dani didn’t say anything else until the food arrived. Seafood plates with soup and bread covered the table and filled the air with a delicious aroma, and Dani gave him another light scowl as Tim leaned on his hand and raised an eyebrow.
She pouted at the table before she then mumbled, “I don’t even know you.”
“Then let’s get to know each other,” Tim said. “I’ll pay for the expenses and by the end of it, you’d decide whether or not you want to go back to the US with me.”
Dani grimaced at him, although her face was still pink. Then she finally nodded slowly.
Score! Hah! Who said he couldn’t get a date?!
Tim smiled at her reassuringly as he picked up his spoon. “It’s a deal.”
