Governor Walz and his family alongside Governor Andy Beshear and his family spent the day campaigning heavily in Iowa, in towns south of Des Moines, before attending a high school football between Des Moines East High School and Lincoln High School (of Iowa). The 'official' schedule is below.

Oskaloosa, IA Event Location: Started at Jaarsma Bakery for Breakfast Event Type: Community Door Knocking Event Time: 8:00 - 10:30 CT

Knoxville, IA Event Location: Started at Manny's Diner for Lunch Event Type: Community Door Knocking Event Time: 11:00 - 13:30 CT

Newton, IA Event Location: Around Town Event Type: Community Door Knocking Event Time: 15:00 - 17:00 CT

Des Moines, IA Event Location: DM East Williams Stadium Turf Field Event Type: High School Football Game Event Time: 19:00 - 21:30 CT

Oskaloosa, Knoxville, and Newton, IA The wives of the governors and their families focused on door knocking in each community today asking for permission to stake yard signs for supporters. While the governors did small business tours of the downtown area of each community asking for support from business owners, managers, and workers. Some businesses asked for signage that could be displayed, but that was a rare occurrence, as many small businesses didn't want to polarize the community.

Des Moines, IA Prior to the football game between Des Moines East High School and Lincoln High School, the governors met with the principals and coaches from both schools to have dinner and discuss local issues around 17:30. Governor Walz returned as 'Coach Walz' tonight meeting with the underdog team at halftime to give them a speech about perseverance, Coach Walz then meet with the winning team at the conclusion of the team and provide a speech about celebrating your wins. Governor Beshear and Governor Walz cheered for both teams from the stands. The Principals and Governors teamed up for a friendly bet! The Principal of Lincoln High and Governor Beshear are a team, while the Principal of Des Moines East High and Governor Walz are the other team. Whichever team lost must wear the winning schools gear on the campaign trail the next day, or Monday for the principals.
