Lawyers’ offices shut down, high street shops were boarded up, GP practices closed early and MPs were told to consider working from home as 41 of the 43 local police force areas in England and Wales braced for potential disorder. About 6,000 riot-trained officers were drafted in to tackle the expected rallies and an estimated 30 counter-protests after immigration law firms and refugee centres were listed as potential targets in a far-right chat group on the encrypted messaging app Telegram. But instead, thousands of counter-protesters took to the streets of Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and London to protect their communities. At 7pm in Liverpool, hundreds of people formed a human shield outside a targeted church that hosts an immigration advice centre while women held banners saying: “Nans against Nazis”. Similar scenes were witnessed in the east London boroughs of Hackney and Walthamstow as thousands of local people and anti-fascist activists came together and held placards saying “we are one human race” and “unite against hate”. In Brighton, the handful of anti-immigration protesters who gathered outside a targeted law office were surrounded by police for their own protection after they were outnumbered by about 500 counter-protesters who chanted: “Off our streets, Nazi scum.” Later, the gathering took on a street carnival atmosphere with a samba band and loud singing. But tensions flared in Aldershot in Hampshire after a group chanting “stop the boats” clashed with protesters holding “stand up to racism” placards who had been chanting “refugees are welcome here”. Dozens of police officers rushed onto the road to stop the groups from getting too close to each other. There were also reported skirmishes in Blackpool. Northamptonshire police said three people had been arrested for public order offences in Northampton, and were in custody, and no members of the public or police had been injured. The Metropolitan police said eight people had been arrested in Croydon for assaulting emergency workers, possession of offensive weapons and other offences after about 50 people gathered “to cause disruption and fuel disorder”. “They’ve dragged and thrown objects down the road and thrown bottles at officers. This is not linked to protest, this appears to be pure anti-social behaviour,” the force added on X. But by 9pm few far-right protesters were seen at the alleged targeted sites, although counter-protests continued to grow. A police source with knowledge of law enforcement’s view of the national picture said “no significant public order issues” had been reported by mid-evening, with no known events where counter protesters and the far right had turned up at the same time. The source said: “It’s not looking as widespread as expected yet but still very early.” Some 15 events across England and Wales were known of by police, mostly involving counter protesters. It was believed some far right led gatherings were taking place, though on a much smaller scale than expected.
Keep racists afraid!

Any thoughts on the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police? I would have thought that "senior British police officer literally fired for stolen valour" would be right up your interests.
well I don’t approve of his being Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police policy, but I do approve of his stealing valour policy

I've taken up reading historic newspapers as a hobby and I thought you'd enjoy this story from the Coventry Evening Telegraph. "Heavy Traffic - There was heavy traffic on all roads leading to Silverstone from an early hour this morning, but the filter colour system introduced at the last meeting was again successful and there were few long delays. In order to regulate the traffic, police had installed in the control tower of the former RAF aerodrome seven radio stations linked with key points over a 25-mile radius." This is from the 20th of August, 1949! As I write to you today, there are roadworks on the road between Brackley and Silverstone, which just makes me feel that news is 100% cyclical and there will ALWAYS be traffic around Silverstone. <3
I actually have a theory about this which gets into the sort of nerdy shit I'd make a video about if I was a man with a decent camera and an office. but so Silverstone is in several English counties:
looking at Silverstone on a map, it's clearly in what you'd call a black hole for ley lines. for anyone who didn't grow up in the UK in the era before the internet gave us something to do with our time, ley lines are alleged mystical power lines that criss-cross the UK and do sort of coincide with some motorways probably because that's kinda how the landscape is.
anyway, the idea is you can draw lines between significant monuments or like, random hills people have decided might have some connection to woo and then that will represent ancient energies. for no doubt very serious reasons the epicentre of all these is a tiny village called Parsley Hay halfway between Sheffield and Stoke on Trent, which I am sure does fairly well out of the related tourist industry.
more significant, in terms of British road mapping, is the existence of Little Chef roadside uhhhh cafés? diners? idk what you classify them as. like the druids of old they are now gone but their energies remain.
Silverstone sits in an uneven triangulation of former Little Chef spots:
not only does Towcester's especially hallowed, double Little Chef site unbalance things nearly irrepairably, three of these Little Chef are in Northamptonshire (the double and Old Stratford to the east) while only Buckingham is in Buckinghamshire.
these are the sort of forces that should not be messed with. it is clear why there are always traffic jams around Silverstone and it's not just because everyone invented Milton Keynes (not pictured, off to the east) then forgot to connect it to anywhere else properly it's because the roadside balance has been greatly disturbed.
now that Little Chef is no more this cannot be corrected. no amount of M&S Simply Food can ever neutralise the vibes and so it is that Silverstone is doomed to eternal traffic by the arrogance of mankind's hubristic building.

A democratically elected Conservative councillor launched a formal complaint to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after officers threatened to storm a council building and arrest him if he attended a planning committee meeting.
An unprecedented story, the complaint launched by Cllr Anthony Stevens, 51, from Wellingborough, called for an investigation into ‘the methods, motives and conduct’ of officers at Northamptonshire police.
The evidence included a series of incidents where officers openly stating that they wanted to ‘remove’ Cllr Stevens as an elected councillor...

British police prepare for new anti-Muslim riots
British police are preparing for more anti-Muslim riots on August 7 as groups of disgruntled citizens have vowed to attack asylum centres and immigration law firms across the UK.
Britain is gripped by a growing wave of violence that erupted early last week when three young girls were stabbed to death in the north-west of the country, sparking a wave of false reports on the internet falsely labelling the alleged killer as an Islamist migrant.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, a former chief prosecutor facing his first crisis since winning the July 4 election, warned the rioters will face long jail terms as he tries to quell Britain’s worst outbreak of violence in 13 years. He told TV presenters:
“Our first duty is to ensure our communities are safe. They will be safe. We are doing everything we can to ensure that where a police response is needed, it is in place, where support is needed for particular places, that is in place.”
In towns and cities, groups of several hundred rioters have clashed with police and smashed windows of hotels housing asylum seekers from Africa and the Middle East, chanting “Kick them out” and “Stop the boats” – referring to those arriving in the UK on small boats.
They have also pelted mosques with stones, horrifying local people, including ethnic minorities who feel victimised by the violence.
There have been reports online that immigration centres and law firms that assist migrants will be hit on August 7:
“Guys, Wednesday night. They won’t stop coming until you tell them.”
In response, anti-racist and anti-fascist groups organised counter-demonstrations in cities and towns across the country.
One typical post about a planned protest in the southern coastal city of Brighton read:
“Racist scum are trying to attack an immigration lawyer’s office. We will not let this happen – wear covered faces and masks.”
Former Scottish leader Humza Yousaf said the current unrest in Britain had made him consider leaving the country for the safety of his family. And not just Britain, but Europe in general.
The wife of West Northamptonshire County Councillor Lucie Connolly was detained for posting on social media a call to burn down hotels with migrants, The Independent reports. The official’s wife wrote on her page on X, but soon deleted the post:
“Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f***ing hotels full of the b******* for all I care… If that makes me racist, so be it.”
The woman apologised for her publication, saying she had acted on “false and malicious” information. However, she has been the subject of several complaints to police for inciting violence. Northamptonshire Police said the 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred and remains in custody.

Another TIM in jail for sexual offenses
By Genevieve Gluck February 13, 2024
A convicted rapist who identifies as a “woman” is back behind bars after breaching the conditions imposed on him to protect the public. Freddie Millar, 31, who also uses the name Xenia Jade-Millar and Xenia Woodward, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and notification requirements.
Millar, of Northampton, was first convicted of rape in 2017 and served three years in prison for the crime. In 2020, he was again detained for misconduct, and incarcerated until September 2023. The conditions of his most recent release, as per the SHPO, legally required Millar, a registered sex offender, to disclose any new relationships, devices, and social media accounts to authorities.
However, during an unannounced check-up conducted by authorities in December of 2023, officers discovered an undisclosed laptop at his residence. Additionally, Millar had become involved in a relationship with a woman without alerting law enforcement.
A follow-up visit in January revealed that Millar had been operating multiple social media accounts under his various aliases — thus violating three stipulations specified in the SHPO.

On February 5, 2024, Millar appeared before Northampton Crown Court, where he was sentenced to one year and four months in prison.
Lead Investigator Detective Constable Will Corlett said in a press release: “Registered sex offenders are very closely managed by our team and I want to be clear that any breaches are dealt with robustly. We do not give second chances or ‘the benefit of the doubt’ – anyone who breaches their order is charged and brought before the courts with a view to sending them to prison.”
“I’m pleased to see Millar jailed as it means the streets of Northampton are that little bit safer,” Constable Corlett added. “I hope this case reassures the public with regards to how seriously we take offences such as this and shows the relentless determination of Northamptonshire Police to put as many people like Millar behind bars.”
Several comments appear to have been deleted from a post made on the Northamptonshire Police Facebook page announcing Millar’s sentencing.
On one Facebook account belonging to Millar, he confirms he identifies as transgender in a post dated December 28, 2023.
“Too [sic] everyone in the world listen to me right now, anyone who has a judge [sic] against me being a transgender come say it to my face,” Millar wrote. “This is just me being nice you don’t want to see me when I lose my sh*t cause trust me I’m dangerous when I’m angry.”
Millar’s sister commented on his post, suggesting that his threatening remarks were “not very lady-like.”
“I have known Freddie all my life and I struggle to believe this is reality, something Freddie struggles with,” she replied. Speaking directly to the 20 year-old woman Millar had become involved with, she added, “I wish you all the best, just be careful.”
The two women then exchanged in a brief back-and-forth, with Millar’s current girlfriend stating that “she is no longer a he and she is no longer Freddie… She is Xenia and why are you saying be careful? However, likewise I wish you all the best.”
During the course of their conversation, it was revealed that Millar had not undergone any surgical interventions. Millar’s sister asserted that she had “an opinion which I’m entitled to,” and insinuated that his history of sexual abuse had made her suspicious of her brother.
“Yes, you’ve done your time, but the nature of what you did, in my humble opinion, is unforgivable. If you are truly transgender, good luck to you… My one and only issue is what you’ve done. Maybe if I didn’t have a daughter I might think differently,” she stated.
Millar’s Facebook profile also suggests he has an estranged son whom he was trying to reestablish contact with.
While it is unclear which prison Millar will be sent to in order to serve the 16-month sentence, an unofficial national sex offender database established to inform the public has recorded his sex as male, and lists his offenses under the name Freddie Millar rather than Xenia.
#UK#Xenia Jade-Millar or Xenia Woodward is Freddie Millar#Male violence#Trans identified male sex offender

The Brampton Hut Murder
Janice Carol Weston, unsolved murder
Solicitor, Janice Weston was found dead in a ditch by a lay-by on the A1 in between Brampton and Brockden, Cambridgeshire on 11 September 1983.
36-year-old solicitor, JaniceWeston’s body was found at 9 am on a Sunday, in a ditch on the northbound carriageway of the A1 about half a mile south of the Brampton Hut roundabout by a cyclist. She had been beaten to death by several vicious blows to the head using a car jack which was found discarded close by.
A detective said that he believed that the killer had possibly lost his temper during an argument and had gone berserk. She was found fully clothed, with no sign of sexual assault or robbery. A post-mortem examination revealed that she had fought against her attacker.
According to Janice’s husband, she had a bit of a habit of picking up hitchhikers when she was making a journey. although he had told her not to and in fact he thought she had stopped doing that.
Curiously Janice Weston had told her husband and her friends that despite her husband being abroad she intended to stay at home in London that weekend. She had spent Saturday in London shopping, getting a new spare wheel for her car and visiting her office at Lincolns Inn to catch up on some work during the afternoon. She was last seen alive at around 4.15 pm on Saturday 10th September 1983.
According to traffic reports and an approximate time that Janice left her home in Holland Park, London, she probably didn’t reach Huntingdonshire until after 9 pm on Saturday night. It seems likely that she was heading for her ‘Weekend retreat’, a country house in Clopton, Northamptonshire.
It is possible that detectives are linking the story of the tyre with the fact that forensics found oil beneath Janice Weston’s fingernails but I think it is more likely that she had changed the tyre in London and done something else, such as checking the oil in the Brampton Hut Layby.
I do not see that a killer is going to kill a woman with a carjack, discard the jack but not the wheel and then drive her stolen car to Camden, London then dispose of the wheel. I really feel that is an error in the investigation.
Janice's husband was arrested after the body was identified, he was held for 55 hours and questioned at length but he was released without charge. It had taken three days to identify the body due to her having been so severely beaten. Hence Tony Weston had returned to England before his wife was identified so police had no idea that he was in fact in France at the time of his wife’s murder.
I personally see a number of faults and failings in this case and the way in which it was handled, hence I am sitting here almost forty years on from the killing, reporting that the case remains unsolved.
I will leave this one here and be back with another case very soon. In the meantime, if you can help me by leaving me a tip and buying me a coffee by clicking the link HERE it would mean a lot to me.
As always, if you would like to discuss this case or indeed any other then please get in touch, I love to hear from you.
