“Happy vampire day James. And oh, what’s this? I’ve got a big area on my neck that could use a bite.. Ya know.. If you were interested.”
James blushes at her boldness, and chuckles. " Oh, more than interested. I would be delighted. Blood is always best served from the source. "

“Happy birthday James!” Harley threw her arms around his neck and pressed a kiss to his cheek before planting one on his lips with a giggle.
James blushed, no one ever remembered his birthday! He'd only mentioned it in passing once. Of course returning the kiss to the lips and couldn't help but smile. " Thank you my lady. Though I must admit I'm.. not accustomed to ... such a fuss. "

Harley couldn’t stop her laugh at the thought of a debauched night with James. Of course her hedonistic nights usually included tequila and dancing until she passed out, but she had a feeling James would be just as fun, if not more. “I’ll hold ya to that. If I go home still sober ya owe me a re-do.” Not that she would mind another night out with him. She grinned and gave him a wink.
Her eyebrows rose along with the corners of her lips as James spoke to the waiter. She tilted her head with another slow smile and a shake of her head when the waiter departed. “Ya really are full of surprises aren’t ya? The only word I knew outta all that was champagne.”
Harley wouldn’t usually let a man order for her, even in such a fancy place, but she had started to realize there was a lot she would let James do. “I’m more of a hard alcohol girl but I’m guess they don’t serve whiskey in here huh?” She laugh and leaned back in her chair, biting her lip in thought. “Are ya stayin’ in Gotham long?”
Her playful threat about needing a re-do if she didn't get properly debauched tonight made him smile more genuinely than he had in a long time."I promise, Harley, if you leave here sober, we will indeed have a re-do. Though I think tonight will meet your expectations."
A brow quirking at the mention of whiskey "Well now, I believe they do serve it here, though perhaps not with the same flair you're used to."
James paused, considering how much to reveal. His time in Gotham had been unpredictable, given what he knew about the batman and the vampire's reasons for coming in the first place, Harley being the most intriguing of all he's encountered so far "For now, yes. I may have found that it has quite a few interesting people worth staying for."
His gaze met hers, the meaning behind his words clear. He enjoyed her company more than he cared to admit, and Gotham had become a more appealing place because of her.

Harley blushed and bit her lip to keep a squeal deep down inside. “I dunno.. Ya are quite the gentleman though.” She gave his arm a soft nudge and a wink.
“Well hey, that’s gonna be even easier to find a ya someone to drink then! I know plenty of people like that. And they’re assholes so they ain’t gonna be missed.”
As they entered the restaurant Harley immediately felt out of place. She was obviously underdressed and she could feel every eye on her judging her for it. Harley pulled the edge of her shirt down, trying to hide some of her belly that showed. She couldn’t really fix the tight pants situation though.
“I’m totally gonna get us thrown outta here arent I?” Harley mumbled, certain that James could hear her but others couldn’t. As he spoke to the man Harley’s eyes widened. He used her name. Now they’re definitely getting kicked out. The stuffy bastard might even call the cops.
Harley was about to tug on James’ arm, telling him it wasn’t worth the trouble but her fears were quickly calmed when James’ eyes flashed and the man’s attitude changed.
As they were taken to the table Harley grinned up at James with a giddy giggle. “That was awesome. Much cooler when it ain’t bein’ used on me.”
As they take their seats, James watched his evening company with a hint of amusement and satisfaction. Her initial unease has transformed into palpable excitement, her eyes sparkling with delight. James realized he enjoys seeing her this happy; her joy is infectious, and it brings a warmth to his otherwise stoic demeanor.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Harley. There's no need to worry about fitting in here. Mortal rules do not apply to us. Tonight is about Hedonistic pleasure, and I intend to make sure nothing is held back"
When Harley beams up at him, she'd not yet get to respond for the waiter approaches their table, a polite smile on his face.
"Bonsoir, monsieur ....mademoiselle. Would you like a menu, or can I start you off with something to drink?"
James doesn't miss a beat. He addresses the waiter in fluent French, his voice smooth and confident. Showing off for his pretty date naturally.
"Nous aimerions commencer avec du canard à l'orange pour la dame et votre meilleur champagne, s'il vous plaît."
The waiter's eyes widen slightly, impressed by James's impeccable French and his decisive order. He nods appreciatively.
The waiter glances between the two at the table a moment befor ehe nods. "Très bien, monsieur. I will have your order prepared immediately. Please, enjoy your evening."
He waits a moment for the waiter to be out of ear shot before turning back to her " I hope you don't mind. I thought the champagne might be fun for you —it has a way of tickling the nose, and I have a feeling you'll enjoy that."

Harley finally let herself look at James, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. The idea that maybe this was more than just scoping out dinner for him made her cling to his arm a bit tighter. “I was more worried about gettin’ ya fed. I didn’t think you’d wanna spend more time with me than ya had to.”
She was willing to wait in line, maybe get to know James a little more if he would open up, but a cough from the vendor broke her gaze away from James and towards the man at the front of the line. When he wiped his nose against his sleeve Harley visibly grimaced and shook her head. “Uh.. Yeah, I don’t think I’m in the mood for hot dogs anymore. Where did ya say that duck was from?”
As she wrapped her arms tighter around him, and flustered.. James couldn't help but smile. The act endearing-- especially knowing he was a vampire. Yet, she wasn't afraid of his interest in her.. rather she accepted it and held him tight.
"Thank God. " grunted the vampire , when she had the sense to agree to go elsewhere for her dinner. James felt much better about that, as he escorted her out of line .
Once more, arm in arm, James lead escorted his pretty date toward the Restaurant that was pretty darn pricy but money was no object, and if anyone dare say a word about Harley's state of lack of formal attire he would simply glamour them into allowing it.
" Newfoundland. Rumored to be even more succulent than your average.. at least, from the reviews. " Since vampires couldn't eat.

"hot.. dogs?" there was a puzzled or perplexed expression on the vampires face. " Are you.. sure you wouldn't rather a more classy dining experience someplace like "La Caridad?" She was not like any woman he had ever met, that was for sure.
" Well, if hot dogs are what my lady wishes, then hot dogs she shall have. " He offers his arm to her to provide escort like the days of old. He'd walk with her on the left, so that he was between the curb and she would not be splashed should a car come speeding by.
" Which vendor?" There was two street vendors he knew of by they were on different blocks.

All day, through every activity, James was right at the forefront of Harley’s thoughts. Did he really sleep all day? If he didn’t call her how would she know where they were supposed to meet? What was she going to wear? She found herself running her fingers along the mark on her neck, feeling a sense of excitement rather than dread over meeting the man who did this to her again. Harley felt a little ridiculous, like a preteen girl swooning over those vampire books. But at least this one was real.
Harley couldn’t remember the last time she was this nervous over a date. No. Not a date. A meeting. She was helping him grocery shop at the most. But Harley still wore her tightest black pants that would still let her run. And tennis shoes of course. No heels tonight.
She waited in the deserted park, sitting on the table instead of the bench, just to feel that much cooler, and grumbling to herself for not picking a better way to contact James. Maybe he had a carrier pigeon. Those were still around, right? Surely a vampire would have some sort of animal to do his bidding.
Harley was lost in thought, trying to decide if James would have a pigeon or a rat (maybe one of those pizza eating rats) when she leaned back on the table with a sigh. “I should get him a phone.”
" Is this seat taken?" Questioned the smiling , teasing expression of the vampire who wasn't there one moment and WAS the next. He was looking dapper in his suit , though a gentleman always , he extends a hand out to her to help her down.
" Ah.. you look .. lovely.. " he smiles, slightly awkwardly at her. He felt ..quite formal in comparison. Clearing his throat. For all his supernatural attractiveness he was stull awkward around pretty girls.
" Before we find me dinner, I think it only fair that I feed my lovely companion first. Ergo, wherever you fancy, money is no object Miss Quinn. After that we shall.. see where the night takes us. How does that strike you? "

She was surprised how much she liked the sound of her name coming from him. Something about his voice had a calming quality to it. Even after everything she had seen that night. The thought made her smile as she reached into the back pocket of her shorts.
Harley held out the white card containing her phone number and an old address that was scratched out. “If ya have a phone. That address don’t work anymore but the number is still good.”
“Really? The accent didn’t give ya away at all.” She rolled her eyes with a wide smile. Her shoulders shrugged up gently as she spoke as if it was the most obvious answer in the world. “Movies. But the twilight movies don’t count. Those aren’t real vampires. Ya know, all the hot vampires have hot names.. Just kinda figured ya would too.”
"very well.. " Norrington accepted the card with a nod, his fingers brushing lightly against hers. As he glanced at the phone number and the old address with a blink. He didn't even have one of those computerized mobiles..he was a total boomer when it came to tech
"Really? not at all ?" he replied with a return smirk. Her explanation about the influence of movies on her perception of vampires drew another amused retort. "Ah, movies. An interesting source of inspiration, but quite inaccurate. All of them, I'm afraid. But that is a discussion for another night. Dawn approaches. Rest well, Miss Quinn "
Norrington, with a graceful flourish, kissed the back of her hand and made his way towards the window. With a swift and fluid motion, he opened it, allowing the cool night air to infiltrate the room. Casting a parting glance at Harley, he stepped onto the windowsill, his silhouette framed by the moonlit night.
Without hesitation, he effortlessly descended the side of the building, his movements seamless against the urban backdrop. Running along the building's façade with supernatural agility, he disappeared into the shadows, leaving Harley alone in the room.

“Centuries? Ya don’t look a day over forty.” Harley grinned and raised an eyebrow. “James? I didn’t know vampires could have normal names. I thought ya had to change your name to Vlad or Dimitri or somethin’.”
As she sat on the bed, bouncing slightly to feel the mattress under her Harley nodded with a small smile and looked back up at the vampire, no, James. “Thanks for the fun night. Yeah.. It’s be fun to see ya again.. I’ll be out again tomorrow night if ya feel like lookin’ for me. I could help ya find some food if ya want.” She shrugged and sat back on the bed, thinking that she would have to leave as soon as he did. She didn’t want to get caught sleeping in a dead man’s bed.
As she settled on the bed and bounced slightly, Norrington observed her playful demeanor. "You're most welcome, Harley," he responded, using her name with a sense of familiarity. "I'm pleased you found the night enjoyable. And I might take you up on your offer to help find some… sustenance tomorrow night." Was that.. a date? Did she just ask him out on a dinner date? Oh! He would have to dress up and take her out after - it would be fair.
He paused at the window, about to leave that way when Norrington couldn't help but laugh at Harley's notion of vampires adopting Romanian names. "I'm British, Miss Quinn.. James serves me quite well.. " He mused.
" My kind do not automatically change our names to something Romanian just because we're turned." He found her assumption amusing and wondered how she had come upon such an idea. " Where did you get the idea that idea?" he asked, a genuine curiosity in his voice.

She shrugged with a teasing smirk in return. “I dunno, maybe ya just wanna get rid of the evidence. I could go blabbin’ to the whole city that there’s a new vampire out for blood.” Harley snapped her teeth at him before laughing.
Her smile grew more sincere as he turned away, somewhat surprised that he seemed a little flustered. “Really? Damn that’s gotta be a drag. Unless ya have a really nice coffin. Like with a cozy pillow and stuff.”
Harley was lost in thought for a moment, thinking about how many times she had been locked in coffins or boxes to be thrown away by her ex. Those coffins were definitely not cozy.
She shook her head and brought her usual smile up to her lips as she slid her arm through his. “Lead the way vampire.”
" It is quite plush. I've .. gotten accustomed to it over the centuries. I find it quite cozy. " James paused to correct. " Norrington. My name is... James Norrington. " he repeated
And though he saw the flicker of unpleasant thoughts ( being stuffed into boxes, coffins and used as decoy to get either police or the bat off the Joker's trail in lieu of saving her. But he didn't press the matter or let her know he had.
He lead her to the guys bed room setting her on the edge of king sized mattress with silken sheets. "Rest well, Miss Quinn. Perhaps we will cross paths again sometime. "

His laugh brought another blush to her pale cheeks as she rolled her eyes at him. “And here I was thinkin’ ya didn’t finish me off ‘cause of my gorgeous figure.”
She couldn’t stop staring at him. The voice of every adult she had met came back into her head. ‘It’s not polite to stare Harleen.’ But what did she care? He was handsome and she was still woozy, but getting more clear headed by the minute.
Her eyebrow rose questioningly as she nodded towards the door. “You’re not just gonna get me to fall asleep and then drink the rest of me are ya? Cause if ya are I’d rather die in my own bed. Do ya even sleep in beds or is the coffin thing a myth?”
" Now why would I want to ruin the taste of fresh blood with all those chemicals again? " He gives her a smug smile, clearly teasing her at the moment. " No, I believe I've taken enough from you for one evening. "
Her thoughts about him being handsome and her persistent staring filtered did not go unnoticed. The realization caused an unexpected warmth to spread through him, and he averted his gaze, clearing his throat to conceal the subtle blush that crept onto his undead complexion.
" a-As for the sleeping arrangements, unfortunately, the notion of vampires sleeping in coffins is not a myth. It's a bit of a cliché, but a necessity for us. "
He offers his arm to help her to the bedroom if she needs it. Though he wouldn't be joining her, he would be cleaning up and leaving her for the night.

Harley grinned up at him with a soft laugh. “Yeah? And what makes ya think that you’re ever gonna have a chance to drink me again?” The lick to his lips made her heart thump in her ears, almost drowning out his gorgeous voice.
She reached for his hand, accepting his help in standing and shrugged. “I dunno.. it wasn’t exactly the worse thing I’ve seen.” Harley ran her thumb along his jaw, wiping off a stray bead of blood.
Harley glanced down at the body, clicking her tongue with a shake of her head. “Poor bastard. If ya didn’t kill him I would have for breakin’ my high.” She looked back up to the vampire with a smirk. “Thanks for that by the way. That was a hell of a ride.”
He actually laughed at that. " My but you are a boastful one. I dare say it would've been a travesty of me to snuff out such a strong young lady's spirit. " He teased her, still wearing that smile as he helped her back to her feet.
James was actually surprised at her boldness. There was something between them , perhaps a strange fascination or curiosity.. James couldn't yet be sure, but she was almost sweet. Sweet with a dark side , but sweet.
" Here, I'm sure the king sized bed this gentleman owns should get at least one more good day of rest in. "

Harley let her eyes close again, the rush of pleasure turning into a slow stream that kept her satiated and compliant. She didn’t expect to actually miss the feeling of his teeth in her neck, but once they were gone she felt a small twinge of disappointment.
The tongue against her neck caused her to shiver and reach for his shirt, gripping it tightly as she held herself close to him, hoping to keep him close.
The new voice confused her, making her turn slowly to look at them with a slightly angry look. With the vampires hiss she looked back up at him, slight fear in her eyes before calming back down and looking at the stranger with an almost drunk anger. “Yeah.. Ya ruined the moment jackass..”
The vampire eased her against the wall , and with preternatural speed perhaps closest akin to a viper, the inhuman growl escaped him while he lunged.
The man's eyes only had a split second to widen before his head was grabbed by the short cropped hair and head yanked to the side. The monster that had been a heroic gentleman only moments ago tilted his head to the side as the man pleaded in broken English to be spared.
" Afraid not, still quite famished you see. " And that grin is as unhinged in it's own right. as he sank his fangs into the mans throat and he screamed. Clearly this was not the same kind of bite and the man was not feeling the enjoyment she had.

Harley shivered as the groan from the man vibrated against her neck, sending a shot of pleasure through her body. If she had any sort of thoughts to pull from the bliss her mind was swimming in she would have said them, but all she could do was ride the wave of pleasure that washed over her.
She was thankful that he was holding her up, letting her body hang in his embrace and fully enjoying the ecstasy running through her mind. The loss of blood increased the dizzying effect of his bite, making her let out another soft moan as her head lolled out of his way.
She could feel him in her head again, but this time didn’t have the strength or desire to try pushing him out. One hand lifted to run through his hair, holding him close as she tried to speak. “Fe.. Feels good..”
He did not speak or respond to her words, though he was quite pleased she was enjoying it and not putting up a fight any more.
Oh, he certainly enjoyed the Harlequins boldness to caress his hair in return. Listening to the strong beat of her heart, attempting to keep his sense of control and not take too much. While he had originally planned to kill her , he'd now thought it to be a waste of beauty.
And even when he withdrew his fangs, to simply lap at what was already spilled, he had already taken enough to weaken her. Just about to lift her into his arms and relocate them , knowing she'd need to rest to recover and a good solid meal too, when he's struck by a brass statue and the man who struck him had a thick accent to his English " What are you doing in my home Shaytan!?"
James hissed inhumanly and those neon green eyes were contracted thin as strips, blood dripping from his lips he looked nothing like that gentleman he presented as moments ago.
"It's terribly rude to interrupt a man's dinner you know. "

Her skin rose in goosebumps from the tips of her ears to the bottom of her toes as his lips caressed her skin, a deep red flushing her face. She clung to him as though her life depended on it, almost wishing he would get it over with instead of teasing her to the verge of actual desire.
She grinned and shook her head slightly. “Oh yeah, such a gentleman.” Harley took in a quick breath as she felt his teeth sink into her skin. It wasn’t nearly as bad as she expected and almost instantly Harley was filled with toe curling, heart racing bliss.
At that point Harley let out a moan, almost melting into his body as her clenched fists relaxed around his jacket. “Nor… Shit.” This was better than any drunk she had tried before, giving her a slight worry that she might become addicted to his bite.
Her little moan did not fall on deaf ears. And it was joined by a low groan of his own delight when the first drops of blood fell upon his tongue. The taste of chemical laced life pooling there. While not his favorite taste it was not tainted enough to keep him from drinking of her.
The vampire was a solid wall supporting her when she near melted against him. When her strength started to leave her. Hand resting upon the small of her back, cradling her like a strong protective lover would. And while they were locked in this intimate moment.. this feeding ritual, James was just as unaware to his surroundings as she.
His mind in hers, hearing the insane laughter, seeing terrible things she's done, but also seeing the strength in her, and the good in her heart. She was not evil, just troubled..
