News of France's death was announced by Nigerian filmmaker Femi Ogedengbe in an Instagram post on Monday. The tragic death of Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, continues to be a topic of mourning and investigation following a boat mishap that claimed his life and the lives of three others. The incident occurred during the filming of a movie titled “The Other Side of Life” in Anambra State. According to Nigeria’s National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), the boat mishap involved 12 individuals, with seven being rescued successfully, two found deceased, and three still missing. The incident took place as the victims were returning from Anam to Onitsha and Nsugbe after shooting the movie. AGN’s Response and ‘No Shoot Day’: The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) declared Thursday as a ‘No Shoot Day’ in honor of Junior Pope and the other crew members who lost their lives in the accident. Popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, passes away after his boat capsized in Anam River, Anambra State on his way to a movie shoot.

According to reports, the actor and three of his colleagues drowned to their death hours after sharing a video of himself on a boat on his Instagram page.

The bodies of the deceased have been recovered, bringing a sense of closure to the tragic incident.

Just hours prior to the accident, Junior Pope had shared a video of himself aboard a boat, fervently praying for a safe journey to his destination.

Unfortunately, the accident occurred on April 10th, as he was returning from the location, casting a poignant shadow over his heartfelt plea for safety.

The actor leaves behind his wife and three children, who now mourn his untimely passing. May his soul find eternal peace…amen. He was 39-year-old. Watch the video below;
