Year-End Poll #53: 2002
Tumblr media
[Image description: a collage of photos of the 10 musicians and musical groups featured in this poll. In order from left to right, top to bottom: Nickelback, Ashanti, Nelly, Nelly and Kelly Rowland, The Calling, Vanessa Carlton, Linkin Park, Fat Joe, Usher, Puddle of Mudd. End description]
More information about this blog here
We're starting to see post-grunge start to take the place of alternative rock in the pop charts, with the rising popularity of Nickelback, The Calling, Puddle of Mudd, Creed, 3 Doors Down, and other similar acts. Despite the immense popularity (or perhaps because of it), post-grunge continues to be a controversial label among rock listeners for the genre's tendency to favor pop-friendly melodies and "simpler" subject matters.
Speaking of controversial rock subgenres, this year also contains a single from one of the best-selling debut records at the time (going 12 times Platinum), Linkin Park's In the End off the album Hybrid Theory. And with that (or parallel to that) came the rise of nu metal and rap metal in the mainstream. It's notable because, at least not since glam metal in the 80's, there hadn't been a subgenre of metal that really blew up with mainstream non-metal audiences to the point where it came to define that moment in time for many. (I know Metallica was able to spread past the confines of genre listeners, but that didn't really lead to a thrash or heavy metal craze among people who wouldn't have already been predispositioned to listen to it).
Nu metal is also incredibly fascinating to me personally because it really shows how "genre" can differ whether you're approaching it from a music-listening perspective or a marketing one. If I had to boil "nu metal" down to a simple set of characteristics, it would be "a subgenre of metal that favors shorter runtimes, takes heavy influences from hip-hop sound and culture, and is often associated with the early 2000s". But if you asked marketing teams at the time, "nu metal" would probably be defined as, "the popular rock music we can't market to the alternative rock crowd". That could be why, to this day, you often see bands like Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Staind, System of a Down, and even Evanescence lumped together under the descriptor, even though I think they don't all have much in common other than the time period, song length, and popularity. If you're marketing on the radio, it makes more sense to squish them together instead of trying to split hairs over subgenres. Only a few (and by "few" I mean "one") of these artists I've listed will be featured in future polls, but I wanted to ramble about this anyway.
Anyway, despite the immense amount of money brought in by albums like Hybrid Theory, the record industry was still scrambling to find ways to get people to pay for music again. In 2002, Nokia released the first polyphonic ringtone, which allowed the phone to play several notes at once. With cellphones growing in popularity, this may be the solution the record industry was looking for.

How to play the Google Snake game?
In the realm of online gaming, few titles hold as much nostalgia and simplicity as the Google Snake Game. This classic arcade game has captured the hearts of millions worldwide with its straightforward gameplay and addictive mechanics.
To play the Google Snake game, follow these steps
1. Open your web browser and go to the Google Search page.
2. Type " google snake game" in the search bar and press Enter.
3. Look for the search result that says "Play Snake on Google" and click on it.
4. Wait for the game to load. Once it's ready, you'll see a colorful background with a snake and various virtual fruits.
5. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard (or swipe on mobile devices) to control the snake's movement. The objective is to eat the fruits and grow your snake.
6. Be careful not to hit the walls or the snake's own body, as it will result in game over.
7. As you eat more fruits, your snake will grow longer, making it increasingly challenging to navigate without crashing.
8. Aim to achieve the highest score possible by eating as many fruits as you can without crashing.
The Google Snake game offers a simple yet compelling gameplay experience, reviving the nostalgia of the original Snake game that many of us played on early mobile phones. It brings back fond memories for those who grew up playing games on devices like the Nokia 3310.
Aside from the addictive gameplay, the Google Snake game also features vibrant visuals and sound effects that enhance the overall experience. The game can be played on both desktop and mobile devices, making it easily accessible for gamers of all kinds.
Gameplay and Mechanics
The objective of the Google Snake Game is simple: guide the snake around the screen, allowing it to eat various food items, represented by blinking dots. As the snake consumes these pixels, it grows longer, making navigation more challenging. The game ends if the snake collides with itself or the game's boundaries. Despite its straightforward mechanics, the game's addictive nature is derived from the balance between risk and reward. Players must strategize their movements to collect as many points as possible while avoiding self-collision. Compete against your own high scores or challenge friends to see who can achieve the highest score.
In addition to playing competitively, you can challenge your friends and family to beat your high score. It's a fun and lighthearted way to pass the time while enjoying the familiarity of an all-time favorite classic game.
Remember, the Google Snake game is just one of the many interactive doodles and Easter eggs that Google offers from time to time. Exploring these hidden gems adds an element of surprise and delight to your online experience.
So, the next time you find yourself bored or in need of a quick gaming fix, head over to Google and play the Snake game. Rediscover the joy and simplicity of this timeless classic, and see if you can outsmart the slithering challenges that await you.
Enhanced Features and Fun Elements
While the concept of the Google Snake Game remains true to its roots, Google has added some delightful features to enhance the experience. The game offers three-speed options, allowing players to adjust the pace based on their skill level and preference. Additionally, the game incorporates popular Google-related features, such as collecting avatars of famous landmarks or cultural icons found in Google Maps.
Social Interaction and Competition
One of the most appealing aspects of the Google Snake Game is its ability to connect players worldwide through friendly competition. By sharing their high scores on social media platforms or challenging friends through direct links, players can ignite friendly rivalries, spurring each other to improve their gameplay and achieve new records. The game also encourages a sense of community among players, with people sharing tips, tricks, and strategies to help each other excel.
The Educational Aspect
Beyond the sheer fun and entertainment it provides, the Google Snake Game also offers a hidden educational aspect. The game enhances players' spatial awareness, reaction times, and hand-eye coordination while promoting strategic thinking and decision-making under pressure. These skills can be beneficial in various real-life scenarios, making the game a valuable tool for cognitive development.
Conclusion
The play snake game permits players to remember the sentimentality of the exemplary arcade period while acquainting this immortal game with another age. With its straightforward yet habit-forming interactivity, upgraded highlights, social communication viewpoints, and basic instructive worth, it has turned into an impressive passage in the realm of program games. Whether you're searching for a fast break during a review meeting or provoking companions to top your scores, the Snake Game remaining parts an enrapturing and pleasant experience for all.

Armie Hammer song pics from 2017
A continuation of my post on NYE 2020 which featured Armie’s song pics from 2020. I will do a post on 2017, 2018 and 2019 for historical purposes for the fandom.
2017 was when Armie first started recommending song pics to his followers. On June 23, 2017 he posted this:
Tumblr media
On June 29, 2017, he posted this song recommendation:
Tumblr media
On July 1-2, 2017, Armie flew to New York City for the British GQ CMBYN photo shoot with Timothee. This is the weekend he posts a picture of Tim in the hallway of his apartment building and Tim delights us with his white hat selfie profile picture.
Here is Armie’s Tweet after he leaves New York City. I am guessing the “Him” is Timothee but I do not know.
Tumblr media
The next song posted on July 28, 2017 is when Armie is recording the CMBYN audiobook - ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER - THE PURE AND THE DAMNED. This is the start of him posting song pics in the format we are used to seeing with an artist and a dash and the song title. I found these lyrics interesting...
Every day I think about untwisting and untangling these strings I'm in And to lead a pure life I look ahead at a clear sky Ain't gonna get there But it's a nice dream, it's a nice dream
Death, make me brave Death, leave me swinging
The pure always act from love The damned always act from love The truth is an act of love
Some day, I swear, We're gonna go to a place where we can do everything we want to And we can pet the crocodiles
Here are the rest of the song pics for 2017 in chronological order.
1.      BONES - ART OF CREMATION
2.      BROTHEL – NUMB
3.      JOSH PAN – NOWHERE
4.      NICO AND VINZ – INTRIGUED
5.      SUICIDE BOYS - PARIS
6.      COLTER WALL - SLEEPING ON THE BLACKTOP
7.      PRINCESS NOKIA - G.O.A.T.
8.      CHESTER WATSON - WATCHING YOU DREAM
9.      BBYMUTHA - INDIAN HAIR
10.   KRUDER & DORFMEISTER - DEEP SHIT PART 2
11.   ERNEST RANGLIN - SURFIN
12.   DJ DEREZON - COLOSSAL
13.   DENZEL CURRY - EQUALIZER
14.   CAKES DA KILLA - KEEP IT GOING
15.   ARISTOPHANES - U WERE NOT HERE
16.   LOUNDON WAINWRIGHT III - I AM THE WAY
17.   GOLDFRAPP - STRICT MACHINE
18.   TIMMY THOMAS - COLD COLD PEOPLE
19.   NNAMDI OGBONNAYA - FREEZE - FAR OUT VERSION
I especially like the lyrics to Nico and Vinz Intrigued and it’s a favorite in one of my playlists:
It's the simple things that makes me wanna love ya The way you talk to me like nothing else matters The way you flip your hair when you come to say hi I'm already yours, you caught me by surprise
I stopped believing in love So I've been forcing it out Said I been living a lie I knew it when I looked in your eyes I'm the king of the world when you stand by my side Can we fill the tank up and drive through the night? I've been saving up, I don't wanna waste time Leave it all behind, put it all on the line, oh Can you give me one more night? 'Cause I'm 'bout to make this right Tell me what you got to lose You're intrigued, you know it's true And we can see another day With no more lies and no mistakes Don't let the devil talk you through

PEMDAS - Special Year-End Edition - Albums
I love end of year lists because I like consensus, rankings and numbers. But consensus is all based on who gets to rank, and the people who get the most access to major publication rankings are white men, so the numbers are tainted by white supremacy, misogyny, and many other forms of bigotry.
Which makes it even more interesting to see what gets ranked where.
Here’s a Google Sheet I made of all the lists and I created a formula that basically measures how many times an album placed on a list as well as how high it placed on that list. I’m going to keep updating this list as it’s not done, but it’s fun to play around with right now!
According to my formula and the critics, the top 10 albums of 2020 (in order) are:

Top 10 Mobile Phone Brands in Bangladesh 2021
10: Itel Chinese brand Itel currently has 1.62% market share in Bangladesh. This a quite surprising to ascertain this brand is doing well in Bangladesh. They produce phones within the low budget range which is sort of important in Bangladesh.
9: Nokia Nokia’s nostalgia is over! Nokia currently has 1.9% market share in Bangladesh. Recently Nakia came up with new phones and got more flexible with the trend of stock android, but excessive pricing destroyed peoples ability to shop for Nokia phones. This premium pricing strategy taking Nokia out of Bangladeshi market. Nokia is currently building a factory in Bangladesh to compete with the market trend.
8: Symphony Symphony is dying! Once it had been the market leader in Bangladesh. Now in 2021, Symphony has 1.92% market share in Bangladesh. Decreasing from 2.866% last year. Symphony was really doing great in Bangladesh, but in recent years Symphony’s market share fall drastically. it had been for the sudden growth of Xiaomi and Realme in Bangladesh market. Symphony is continuously failing to bring value oriented mobile phones.
7: Apple Worlds largest premium smartphone maker Apple is doing alright in Bangladesh. the most reason for his or her popularity is that the brand value. No other brand has that sort of impact in peoples mind. Their iPhone 11 was one among the foremost popular flagship phone within the country. future software support and increasing concern over privacy is driving premium customers to Apple. Just a couple of years ago they weren't within the top 10 list. Now in 2021 Apple is that the sixth largest smartphone seller in Bangladesh with 2.36% market share.
6: Realme Realme started their journey in Bangladesh by launching Realme 5i, at that point it had been an enormous hit. This Chinese smartphone brand Realme is currently one among the feeling in Bangladesh. Currently they're gaining market share rapidly. Now in 2021, it has 3.77% market share in Bangladesh. This brand is popular for its midrange phones. Realme assambles mobile in Bangladesh which provides them an enormous competitive advantage over their main competitor Xiaomi.
5: Mobicel Do you know Mobicel was within the 8th spot last year with 1.83% market share! Now in 2021, Mobicel has 4.29% market share in Bangladesh. are you able to believe it! People are buying Mobicel phones quite Symphony, Vivo, Nokia etc. for its low price.
4: Oppo Oppo now has 5.85% market share in Bangladesh, growing from 4.676%. Oppo may be a globally recognized brand and it's doing great. Oppo has opened many authorized shop and repair center recently. But it's still struggling to compete with Xiaomi and Huawei. But Oppo is banging the mobile market by bringing new camera features and classy looks. Surely it's an honest competitor for Xiaomi and Huawei.
3: Huawei Huawei currently has 10.4% market share in Bangladesh. With good durability and great brand value, Huawei stayed in number two position for an extended time, but recent Android ban from USA and conspiracies around this brand slowly destroying it. Currently Huawei is that the third largest smartphone seller in Bangladesh, but we expect it'll loose its market share within the future. Huawei phone’s camera possesses specialized feedback from customers. With an enormous number of service center and customer care center, Huawei has achieved the assumption of the various customers of Bangladesh. But it's nothing to try to to with the present situation.
2: Xiaomi Xiaomi finally did it. it's the second largest smartphone seller in Bangladesh by defeating Huawei. Xiaomi features a market share of 16.02% in Bangladesh. Xiaomi is bringing new phones with new looks and new features in affordable price point. Moreover, Xiaomi brings new budget range phones during a more frequent way.
1: Samsung And here it's . the highest mobile brand in Bangladesh. Samsung has 33.09% market share in Bangladesh. this is often not only in 2021 but Samsung market share in Bangladesh was also good for a really while . Just in 2019 the company’s sales grew 203% year over year. Samsung got its huge market share after introducing Android in Bangladesh. From that point Samsung remained no 1 . The reputation of this brand with great customer care services made people love this brand. Important features like good camera, beautiful Super AMOLED display and long durability made this brand favorite choice of Bangladeshis. Recently they're bringing M series and A series phones during a affordable price pint, which is undoubtedly a positive strategy from Samsung.

Note
All the evens for Audrey and all the odds for Margo!
thank you!  this got super long so i’m putting it under a cut hehe
audrey:
2. why is your oc problematic?
audrey is problematic because she has no clue what she’s doing when it comes to anything and when it comes to being a hero, she relies almost entirely on trial and error.
4. what crossovers with other ocs have you talked about?
i have talked about crossovers with you for leila, @emiliachrstine with jacqueline, and @notaboutcat with grace barnes!!!
6. if your oc were to have superpowers, what would they be? if your oc has superpowers, what are they?
so audrey has super soldier strength as her primary superpower, and also there’s some other stuff that will be revealed during the thor: tdw arc
8. alright, be honest—whether or not they get the chance to prove it, is your oc worthy?
so i think that audrey does become worthy eventually during endgame, but i think that all the avengers are.
10. what’s your oc’s fight song? (e.g., immigrant song for thor, just a girl for carol)
girls just wanna have fun!!! i think is the biggest one.  but i have actually picked out songs for the main fights in all of the movies audrey is in:
avengers battle of new york: “mama talking” by parov stelar
moscow fight against bucky: “bad guy” by billie eilish which i know wasn’t technically released yet but it’s okay
thor: tdw final fight: “big god” by florence and the machine
tws final fight: “seven nation army” by the white stripes
avengers: aou battle of sokovia: “glass & patron” by fka twigs
captain america: civil war airport scene: “bad blood” by taylor swift
angels of mercy final fight: “tomboy” by princess nokia
thor: ragnarok: “the future’s so bright, i gotta wear shades” by timbuk 3
avengers: iw: “yellow flicker beat” by lorde
avengers: endgame: “girls just wanna have some” by chrormatics and “lights up” by harry styles and “boys wanna be her” by peaches
12. what was your oc like in high school?
audrey didn’t officially go to high school because she was tutored privately until she started just going to college but she was generally bored with her tutors.  when she went to high school in the 80s, she was jarred.  even though she’d gotten several degrees by that point, she was like freaked out by being with other people and having to have a social life because in college she just didn’t talk to anybody.  so she was nervous and quiet but she did have one good friend!
14. your oc meets thanos. what’s their first move?
omg audrey’s first move is to spit on him, i think, and then she just like attempts to tackle him and scratch his eyes out ngl
16. your oc gets married. which canon characters are in the wedding party?
yesss braudrey wedding time!! natasha is one of her bridesmaids, tony is the officiant, and both steve and darcy walk her down the aisle.  steve and darcy have a young daughter by this point who is a flower girl with morgan, and they’re super cute.  i could talk about the braudrey wedding for so long though i have so many little plans
18. what are your oc’s bad habits or vices?
audrey loves sweets, i think is one of her vices. she also tends to know she’s making bad choices but go through with them anyway.
20. your oc wears the gauntlet (without any detrimental effects on their health) and gets one snap to wish for anything they want. what do they ask for?
audrey asks to destroy the infinity stones, i think most likely.  she doesn’t want that energy to be condensed into such a powerful form because that’s like a nightmare.  i think it changes from film to film, but by the end, her final wish is for everyone to not be so powerful all the time
22. what does your oc’s bedroom look like?
audrey’s apartment is very minimalist, because it’s easy for her to get overwhelmed.  before she moved into the tower, she was a workaholic because she would get so bored with her freetime that she always had case files everywhere.  once she joins the avengers though and kind of like starts building a life for herself, she starts to settle into her place more and have details that reflect her life more—photos on the walls, little things that she collects from good memories, and a lot of books on the shelves!  audrey likes big windows and keeps them open, but the space is mostly like white with dark blue accents.
24. which characters from other movies or shows is your oc a combination of?
excellent question!  so audrey reminds me a lot of like the most chaotic combinations of mike schur main ships?  she’s both chidi and eleanor, and both jake and amy.  she’s anxious but also impulsive, awkward but also extremely loving, strong but also scared.
26. which canon character would they go to for advice? why?
audrey goes to different characters for advice about different things!  with moral problems, she goes to steve.  with fighting advice, she heads to natasha, obviously.  with relationship advice, she heads to darcy.  and later, post aou, audrey actually spends a lot of time with wanda and pietro becoming more politically active.
28. what’s your oc’s biggest flaw?
audrey is scared of everything! i think is her biggest flaw.  it’s hard for her to overcome that fear.
30. what movies or shows is your oc featured in?
audrey is in agent carter, she has cameos in iron man 1+2, thor 1, captain marvel, and captain america: tfa.  she’s a main in avengers, thor 2, tws, avengers: aou, captain america: civil war, thor 3, and avengers iw and endgame!
margo:
1. how did you pick your oc’s name?
margo is short for margaret! i think peggy is kind of an old-fashioned name (technically so is margo) but margo is cute and short too
3. besides their main ship, who else do you think they would work well with?
i think margo could have a relationship with magnus (thor and jane’s older son) but it probably wouldn’t be super healthy.   also i think she and calliope could have had a cute relationship which coulson would have lost his mind about lol.
5. what’s a crossover with another oc that you’ve wanted to do, but haven’t officially discussed or planned?
i feel like it would be cool to talk about margo with @cassercole‘s queve family ! i think an audrey and q crossover would just slap in general because i think it would be angsty and cool and i can imagine q being like . i did not sign up to be a stepmother, but thanks, but then the two of them actually becoming friends eventually.
but anyway, i can imagine bonnie and tristan teasing margo and making them call her aunt and uncle but them all getting along well and hanging out at family reunions and getting into trouble . having a vision of the three of them stealing a blunt or something from tony’s jacket pocket at thanksgiving and then all of them being high and paranoid about getting caught by steve.
q catches them and margo is like please don’t be mad and please don’t tell my mom and q just rolls her eyes and closes the door to the room they’re all in after telling them dinner’s in 10 minutes, and she won’t tell but it’s up to them not to get caught.
7. rank their compatibility with the marvel teams: avengers, guardians of the galaxy, agents of shield, defenders, runaways
okay so: 1) avengers, because they’re her family.  2) gotg, because she thinks they’re all super weird and cool.  3) runaways, because i think she’s scrappy and has a similar sheltered background to them.  4) aos, just because found family time.  5) defenders.  super brutal and she’s just like ummmm i am scared .
9. which other mcu characters would your oc really get along with?
i think gamora and margo would get along super well.  also margo’s close with carol because she likes how she’s not too serious about herself as a hero.  i think she’s also probably gets along well with wanda and pietro.  she’s super close with her dad, also.
11. post a snippet of the next chapter of an oc’s fic!
okay to be honest i have not written any of margo’s fic yet so i will have to pass
13. what’s a secret about your oc that they would never admit? feel free to be as angsty or as silly as you’d like!
margo would never admit it but she has a slight schoolgirl crush on thor, who is one of the strength instructors slash english teachers at the academy.
15. if your oc has a costume/were to have a costume, what does it/would it look like? what colors? cape or no cape?
no cape, but sometimes she ties a towel around her neck and dances in her dorm room.  margo’s costume would probably look a lot like helena bertinelli’s costume on arrow—very classic, infinity mask, etc.
17. after a battle, how does your oc recover?
she cries into her pillow for several hours and enters a period if intense self loathing and eats ice cream.
19. what were some other faceclaims you considered for your oc?
when audrey was shipped with pietro, margo was played by josefine frida petersen!
21. if your oc survived the snap, who do they miss the most?
in an au where audrey has margo before infinity war and the snap, margo would be devastated to grow up without her mother
23. what’s their love language? what’s the love language of the character they’re shipped with?
i think margo’s is words of affirmation, and leo’s is quality time!
25. which characters annoy your oc? why?
margo gets annoyed with her mom, a lot.  audrey and bex are really close and so she feels left out of that relationship.  i also think that margo doesn’t get along super well with pepper because she thinks pepper doesn’t like her.  she doesn’t like peter quill that much, even though she likes the rest of the guardians.  and she never meets loki, but i think she would absolutely hate him.
27. what’s your oc’s biggest strength?
i think her biggest strength is her big heart!  she feels a lot and she’s kind of intense but she’s a very loving person.
29. team cap, team iron man, team i don’t care, or team please stop fighting?
team please stop fighting!! she’s like why is my life an episode of family feud . i know she doesn’t exist then but she looks back on it and brings it up sometimes and they’re both deeply embarrassed about it in hindsight and also like . okay BUT and she’s like okay nevermind!!!!

100 GECS FT. CHARLI XCX, RICO NASTY & KERO KERO BONITO - RINGTONE (REMIX)
[6.00]
At last, something we can all agree on...
Wayne Weizhen Zhang: Chaotic Evil ft. Chaotic Good, Lawful Evil & Lawful Good. [8]
Brad Shoup: Please know that, due to my age and disorder in which everything sounds like pop-punk, I'm treating my delight in 100 gecs with extreme suspicion. The worried bruise of the original "Ringtone"'s bridge finds its double in Rico Nasty's gleefully conflicted verse. Sarah Bonito tries to sneak in a horror short, Charli chirps like a phone that's never going to voicemail. I feel like I'm listening to The Geometrid. I keep waiting for T-Pain, the human ringtone, to show up. [8]
Oliver Maier: I am slightly self-conscious about how much I like this, given that it is such blatant fan service for a) 20-somethings who frequent the main trifecta of [x]heads music subreddits b) Twitter stans who rabidly demand "COLLAB"s from their faves c) Anthony Fantano (only one of these applies to me). If the existence of this remix somehow precedes an uptick in collaborations between Extremely Online™ musicians then I can only hope that they all be so well-executed. The "Ringtone" remix is both wilder than the original and shockingly coherent, I think because all three performers tap into the most elemental versions of themselves. Charli's verse and perfect delivery of an already-great hook would be at home on the cartoonish Number 1 Angel, less so on her moodier self-titled. Sarah from KKB revisits the uncanny children's-show-presenter flow that characterised the group's breakout project and then subsequently vanished. Rico is just as berserk as one would hope. 100 gecs is objectively a very silly project, but the care with which this remix -- a clusterfuck on paper -- is structured into something both logical and extremely listenable only demonstrates how seriously Brady and Les take their tomfoolery. The gecs are among the best to emerge from the post-PC Music boom because they so firmly reject the parameters of good taste and make redundant the tiresome question of whether their intentions are cynical or sincere. You don't make pop music this brilliant and unselfconscious without pouring your heart into it. [9]
Katherine St Asaph: The other day I read a thinkpiece about, among dozens of other things, how Billie Eilish was corporate bullshit and 100 gecs were wholesome DIY outsiders, despite the gecs at that point having already signed to Mad Decent, producing tracks by the likes of Slayyyter and LIZ, and playing ukelele for an America's Got Talent winner. There is so much Discourse like this, and it all makes me so, so exhausted. What about one collection of sound waves (or Bacon-Sheeran number, or accumulated total of bar hangs with hypebeasts) makes it morally bankrupt, while a near-identical collection of sound waves remains morally acceptable? The rapping sounds like Lady Gaga's "Christmas Tree." [2]
Leah Isobel: Making actual pop music demands legibility and the sacrifice of gecs' usual chaos, but this remix manages to keep their interplay of melodic sweetness and noisy menace intact -- see Laura's charmingly polite request for Charli to sing the chorus again before the song nosedives into the "Click" outro. It's like Owl City corrupted with a virus, and it slaps. [9]
Vikram Joseph: I have some questions for the girl asking Charli to sing the chorus again, because we did *not* need that chorus again. "Ringtone" was a pleasant bit of nonsense at 2:20, but padding it out to almost four minutes with guest vocalists (of whom only Rico Nasty sounds vaguely engaged) is a good way to siphon away whatever charm it had to begin with. Sometimes... things that are expensive... are worse. [4]
Jibril Yassin: The rare example of a posse track that succeeds without removing what made the original so great. Let's put 100 gecs in charge of pop posse tracks from now till infinity. [8]
Alfred Soto: Despite the riot of credits, "Ringtone" is closer to a poor 2010 Ke$ha album track. Ringtones? A decade later? The beat sounds like the creators stole it from a Bush-era Nokia. [4]
Alex Clifton: Our featured players here are the highlight of the song, bringing liveliness to a beat that would otherwise be too glitchy for me. And yet after a while it has the same effect that a phone ringing for two minutes does: slightly annoying, loud enough that you can't ignore it, but too muffled in your bag to find where it could be. Please note my score is expressed in gecs instead of points. [5]
Joshua Minsoo Kim: It's too long and labored over, lacking the giddy charm of the original because the voices are too straightforward. It's fun seeing all these artists on the same track, but all this does is prove that 100 gecs is even more singular than we may have initially thought. [3]
Tim de Reuse: 100 gecs don't work nearly as well for me on such low energy, and their usual reckless abandon appears to have been reined in here so as to elevate the presence of their high-profile features. That, along with the nearly four-minute runtime (about twice as long as a 100 gecs track ought to be, by my measure) gives this the character of a listen-once joke. To be clear, it's a delightful joke. [6]
Ian Mathers: Absolutely better than the original (and "Money Machine" for that matter), mostly because it no longer sounds like Big Dumb Face trying to adapt to modern trends. But it does make me wonder if this is what the people who didn't like Charli's work with PC Music felt like they were hearing. [5]
Jonathan Bradley: 100 gecs let the lil homies ride on us; it's like showing up to gecsCon -- surely a real thing that could exist -- with a grocery bag full of Monster, weed and money, and discovering in astonishment that other people like this band too. (One infamous afternoon, I played 1000 gecs for my office; they were distraught, but I since found out I converted at least one co-worker.) So everyone in this PC Music Khaled lineup tries hard to do their best gecs, with Charli leaning into the lovestruck cutesiness, Sarah Bonito trying to channel the uneasy relationship with technology, and Rico summoning the unearned confidence. But although the elements that original gecs Dylan and Laura stick together sound familiar, their sound is a singular one: A.G. Cook and co. are too deliberate; Black Dresses too consumed by the horror and anxiety around them; Ayesha Erotica too singleminded; Brokencyde too scene. The best part in the remix is when Laura Les asks Charli to sing the chorus again, doing more gecs in one line than anyone else could in three verses. It turns out there's something particular to this mish-mash of pop enthusiasm, hypermodern tension, and shitposting that is not easily replicable. "You just copy everything we do," Laura once chirped, prophetically. "If I wasn't me, I'd copy me too." There's only one gec, even when there's 100 of them. [7]
Kylo Nocom: You know, all that matters is that they had fun. [6]

How to play the Google Snake game?
The Snake game, also known as the Google Snake doodle, is a classic and addictive browser game that was introduced by Google in 2013 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular game, Snake. This revamped version of the traditional Google Snake game is available to play directly on the Google Search page, providing hours of nostalgic entertainment.
To play the Google Snake game, follow these steps:
1. Open your web browser and go to the Google Search page.
2. Type "Google Snake game" in the search bar and press Enter.
Gameplay and Mechanics:
Enhanced Features and Fun Elements:
While the concept of the Google Snake Game remains true to its roots, Google has added some delightful features to enhance the experience. The game offers three-speed options, allowing players to adjust the pace based on their skill level and preference. Additionally, the game incorporates popular Google-related features, such as collecting avatars of famous landmarks or cultural icons found in Google Maps.
Social Interaction and Competition:
One of the most appealing aspects of the Google Snake Game is its ability to connect players worldwide through friendly competition. By sharing their high scores on social media platforms or challenging friends through direct links, players can ignite friendly rivalries, spurring each other to improve their gameplay and achieve new records. The game also encourages a sense of community among players, with people sharing tips, tricks, and strategies to help each other excel.
The Educational Aspect:
Beyond the sheer fun and entertainment it provides, the Google Snake Game also offers a hidden educational aspect. The game enhances players' spatial awareness, reaction times, and hand-eye coordination while promoting strategic thinking and decision-making under pressure. These skills can be beneficial in various real-life scenarios, making the game a valuable tool for cognitive development.
Conclusion:
The Google Snake Game permits players to remember the sentimentality of the exemplary arcade period while acquainting this immortal game with another age.

Best Wireless Chargers 2020 – Buyer’s Guide
My girlfriend recently bought a wireless charger for her Samsung phone. She was really excited about it. And, if I’m being honest, I was too. The world needs fewer wires, and the whole wireless-charger thing has been a long time coming.
Unfortunately though, the charger was a lot slower than we thought it would be. The LED lights were annoying, too – they were so bright at night that they lit up her entire room. It made me wonder if we’d just bought a bad brand, and if there were better wireless chargers out there.
Which of course is when I decided to write a review article on them!
1. RAVPower – Best for techies
Tumblr media
In my mind, the biggest selling point for RAVpower’s Fast Wireless Charger is its sleek design. It’s one of the most futuristic looking chargers on our list. When I put a wired charger next to a RAVPower, I feel like the RAVpower is an artifact left behind by a time traveler from the 24th century. That’s how good the design is.
The RAVpower is a Qi-certified charger, meaning it works with a fair number of devices, including the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, the iPhone X, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7, S8, S9, S7+, and the Note 8.
But, to be honest, as good as it looks, this isn’t the fastest wireless charger on the market. There are some seriously fast wireless chargers out there. At the upper end, some will charge your phone at a rate of 15-watts. On the lower side, we have wireless chargers that will hobble along at a speed of 3.5-watts.
That being said, the RAVpower charges compatible iPhone devices (including the 8, 8 Plus, and X) at 7.5-watts. While this falls in the middle of the range of 3.5-15, it’s actually above the mode of our set. What I mean by this is, more than half of the devices I looked at charged Apple devices at 5-watts or less. None of them charged faster than 7.5 – so while the RAVpower isn’t the fastest on the market, it isn’t bad.
Because of the different designs between Apple and Samsung devices, Samsungs can be charged faster than Apple products. The RAVpower charges compatible Samsung devices (including the Galaxy S7, S8, S9, and the Note 8) at 10-watts. That’s faster than three of the other chargers on our list, slower only than one, and as fast as the other five.
What I Like
The very first thing I absolutely love about RAVPower wireless chargers is the design. These are some of the most futuristic looking chargers I have ever seen. You could buy one for nothing more than the pleasure of having people asking you to tell them more about your cool new gadget.
The RAVPower’s design lets it dispense heat about 15% faster than similarly priced chargers. I personally don’t like the idea of a hot phone or charger during the charging process. With all the reports of batteries exploding, I’m always afraid it’s going to blow up.
The RAVPower also protects your phone against some of the common problems that occur with rechargeable batteries: overcharging, overvoltage, and overcurrent.
Overcharging happens when you let your device charge too long. The battery is full, but power still gets pumped in. This can damage a battery, ruining its ability to hold a charge. RAVPower’s technology allows the charger to see that the battery is full, and to reduce its charging rate to a trickle.
Similarly, the RAVPower protects against overvoltage (when the charging delivers too much power for your device) and overcurrent (a power surge).
All of these capabilities are bundled up under a proprietary technology known as HyperAir. To be honest, these are standard things you will find in any wireless charger worth its salt, but there’s something extra that HyperAir technology does that makes it truly stand out: it is capable of detecting your iPhone instantaneously because it shares the same fixed frequency program that your iPhone has. That means that as soon as your iPhone is within a minimum range, it starts to charge straight away.
What I Don’t Like
Okay, the first thing I really don’t like here is the fact that the LED on the charger will stay orange no matter whether my iPhone is standard charged, fast charged, or fully charged. With Samsung Galaxies, the LED turns green. This is because of the difference in how the iPhones and Galaxies communicate with the wireless charger.
Your phone also shouldn’t have casing thicker than 3 mm or the wireless charger won’t be able to charge it. With many other chargers, the maximum width is 4 or 5 mm. When it comes to phone cases, that extra allowance can make a huge difference. Don’t put anything between your phone and the charger either, because that will also keep it from charging. And that includes metals and magnets. In fact, magnets might mess up the functioning of the wireless charger; I really feel like they could have done a little more as far as the resilience and robustness of the charger is concerned. It’s probably great for a home or office where it’s going to sit by a computer and you know nothing’s going to hurt it. But if it’s in a common space – in a dorm or a shared office – the chance of it being damaged is a little too high for my blood.
2. Choetech – Best for frequent use
Tumblr media
The Choetech approach to wireless chargers is pretty interesting. They wanted to make a versatile charger – one that can do a little bit of everything pretty well – and that’s what they delivered.
As the name implies, Choetech designed the QI Fast Wireless Charging Stand as… well… a stand. This allows it to be easily used while your device is charging. Other designs on the market include mats (which allow multiple devices to charge at once) and pucks (which can only charge a single device that is lying flat). You can imagine how much easier it would be to use your phone when it’s at an upright angle, as opposed to lying flat on your desk.
What I Like
Let’s take a minute to get back to the fact that this Qi-certified wireless charger is a stand. It allows you to place your phone in either landscape or portrait modes. That way, you can use your phone in whatever way the app you’re running demands. Meanwhile, the wireless charger will be filling it up with juice.
There is an LED strip at the base of the charger that tells you what mode it is in. When it glows blue, it means the wireless charger is in standby mode. When it glows green, it means your phone is charging.
For compatible Samsung devices (the Galaxy S9, S8, S7, S7 Edge, S6, and S6 Edge, and the Galaxy Note 9, Note 8, and Note 5), the charging rate is 10-watts. I find this works great. I can use them while they’re charging without draining the battery so much that it stops actually charging.
I also like the considerate design. You might think that, because it is a wireless charging stand, the charging area will be a little restricted. However, the design involves two coils, which means it has a much wider charging area than expected. Place your phone in landscape or portrait position and it will still charge.
This wireless charger also features charging and temperature protection, due to the clever circuitry in the device. It has anti-slip rubber feet for more stability.
What I Don’t Like
For those charging the iPhone, you will notice that the 5-watt rate is anything but speedy. In fact, if you have your GPS switched on, or any other app that places heavy demands on the phone’s power, then don’t expect your phone’s battery to get full anytime soon.
I didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t come with an adaptor right out of the box. That means I had to go hunting for an adaptor with the right specifications in order to use it.
While this is a Qi-enable device (meaning it can charge many different kinds of phones), I didn’t like that some phones had a hard time charging. A Nokia, for example, has to be placed in a special way for it to charge at all. Move it from its sweet spot and it won’t charge.
I have to advise that you first make sure your phone is supported before buying this charger. You should also check if the phone casing is less than 4 mm.
3. Seneo – Best case-friendly charger
Tumblr media
Seneo is one of the world’s leading brands, with over 2 million customers. Of course, Seneo insists that all of these were satisfied customers; I decided to be one of those customers, have a look at their Qi Certified Wireless Charging Stand, and decide for myself.
It comes in a really cool and sleek design. From what I saw, most charging stands come in the same windsurfer design with only two real distinguishing features. The first is in the charging real estate. How many charging coils it has, and how they’re arranged, determines the size of the stand. The other distinguishing feature is in the design of the LED light that tells you whether the phone is charging or not. This one was a lot like the rest, but I liked the fairly glossy black on it. It just looked a little more ‘refined’ than the rest.
What I Like
As it turns out, the Seneo is a pretty good wireless charger (maybe those 2 million customers really are satisfied, after all!). As with most chargers, the Seneo has two modes, 5- and 10-watts. But, with the Seneo, the numbers of watts isn’t the whole story.
The 10-watt mode is – and if you’ve been reading this article through, you’ll know the answer here – for the Samsung Galaxy suite of phones and tablets. That includes the S6 onwards and the Note 5 onwards. The exact list is on their page.
That of course leaves the lower, 5-watt mode for iPhones, including the 8, the 8 Plus, and the X. 5-watts is on the low end of charging rates on our list. However, Seneo claims their connection is “more stable,” and promises faster speeds than other 5-watt chargers. They compare their charger to some of the 7.5-watt chargers that are on the market.
I didn’t quite get what they meant by “stability” – a stronger connection between the charger and phone maybe? Or something internal to the charger?
I never did figure that part out, but I did learn, through use, that it does a better job than other 5-watt chargers. In a few hours’ time, my iPhone went from 10% to 100% despite the fact that I was constantly messaging my girlfriend. I didn’t really put it through its paces by using a more intensive app, like a video or game. And I kept my GPS off. But still, compared to other 5-watt chargers put into similar conditions, it did better.
It comes with all the standard features. It’s Qi-certified, so it’s compatible with both Samsung and iPhone phones. It has temperature protection, voltage protection, short circuit protection, etc.
But maybe the real highlight for this charger is its case friendliness. It’s on another level. Your phone’s case can be up to 5 mm thick (though the optimal thickness is 4mm). The highest on our list. This is the difference between having to take your phone out of its case, or not. You still can’t have any clips or magnetic backings – magnets especially mess with wireless chargers. But I loved that I could leave my phone in its case, set my phone on the charger, and not have to keep adjusting it so that it sat right over one of the charging coils in order to get it to charge well.
What I Don’t Like
As much as I would like to corroborate their claims, I really don’t think Seneo’s charging stand is comparable to a decent 7.5-watt charger. It did seem to be better than the average 5-watt wireless charger. And it may be better than some of the cheaper 7.5-watt chargers. But it certainly didn’t beat any of the good 7.5-watt chargers I tried.
Another downside is that this charging stand isn’t made for any other phone brands on the market. You should either have an iPhone or a Samsung.
I also don’t like the fact the package does not come with a Qi 2.0 or 3.0 adapter. You have to buy those separately. That is something I didn’t like about pretty much every charger on this list, but that doesn’t excuse Seneo.
4. Pleson – Best value for your money
Tumblr media
Some of my friends spoke highly of Pleson’s Ultra Slim Qi Wireless Charging Pad. I decided to borrow one of theirs, and give it a good comparison. And I have to say that, if you made a graph of the wireless chargers in this list with affordability on one axis and great features on the other, then Pleson’s pad would sit as a blip above the best-fit line.
What I Like
The biggest difference between Pleson and other brands is the charging rate. The Pleson comes in at a whopping maximum rate of 13.5-watts. That’s up to 1.4 times faster than similarly priced chargers on the market. My girlfriend loves it too. She is an absolute social media junkie and so she needs a charger that will either charge her phone super fast or handle heavy phone use while charging. The Pleson is a puck, so she has to wait for her phone to finish charging before she can use it, but it will charge her phone to 100% in an hour at the most.
I also liked the “intelligent identification design” – the LED light turns green when the phone is charging. It seems like such a simple thing to engineer charging lights into these devices, but not all of them do. You will also have to use either a QC 3.0 adapter or the original adapter that comes with your Samsung phone.
But let me say that I like more than just that the Pleson has a light. I also like the light’s design. Most wireless chargers try to do too much when it comes to notifying people of the charging condition of their phones. There use too many beeps and blinking lights. If the only thing I cared about in the world was the state of my phone’s charge, that might be fine. But I’m usually working or sleeping, and I try to minimize the number of beeps and boops and blinks in my life. But Pleson doesn’t come with any of those. In their own words, their LED light is designed in a ‘humanized’ way.
I want to know when my phone has finished charging, but I don’t need a constant reminder. Pleson has recognized that, and engineered their LED to turn off after 10 seconds. For me, that’s perfect. I pop in my phone and it flashes green briefly to show me that my phone is charging. Now that I know that little fun fact, I don’t need to constantly see the light or hear any annoying sound.
Another good thing with Pleson is the 3-year warranty. The standard warranty in the industry is 18 months. There is a charger on our list (the Ellesye) that offers a lifetime warranty. But Pleson’s 3-year warranty is a testament to how confident the people behind this brand are in the quality of their own technology. On top of their warranty, they also promise a 60-day money-back guarantee.
What I Don’t Like
One problem is that the fast mode is only available for the Samsung Galaxy suite of phones and tabs. That doesn’t even include standard charging Galaxy phones like the S6 and the S6 Edge. You will also have to settle for standard charging other Qi-enabled phones like the Google Nexus 5 and the Google Nexus 6.
For iPhones, the Pleson becomes rather surprisingly lackluster. With top speeds of 13.5-watts for Samsung phones, you would expect something like 7.5-watts for iPhones.
The Pleson is a puck charger. A puck charger is the manufacturer’s way of telling you that you can either charge your phone or you can use your phone, but you can’t have both. Why do I have to make a choice, Pleson?? Pucks are the literal, physical embodiment of that saying about not being able to have your cake and eat it too. While the charge rate for my iPhone isn’t horrible, I have to wait for it to charge completely before I can go through my messages and see what I missed. In the meantime, I’m cut off from the rest of the world and actually have to talk to people and take up hobbies like drawing with pencils like it’s 1999 again.
I also don’t like the fact that this charger isn’t very case friendly. Any phone case thicker than 2 mm will give you some serious problems when you try to charge your phone. You would also have to take off the back of the phone if it is metallic. This charger is completely intolerant of metal.
5. Samsung – Best for Samsung users
Tumblr media
Of course, this party wouldn’t be complete without a proprietary charger by none other than Samsung themselves. The Samsung charger is on the pricier end. Adding that to the fact that Samsung has been a pioneer of wireless charging, we would expect it to deliver some pretty great features.
You might worry that, since the charger is by Samsung, it is only compatible with Samsung phones. Luckily, that is not the case. This charger is compatible with any Qi-compatible smartphone, including the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X.
I am absolutely awed by this charger’s unique futuristic design. Words won’t do this justice – when I say that it’s two discs coming together at an almost perpendicular angle, and that it looks like a cross between a puck and a stand, I make it sound like something Frankenstein might have made. But, if that’s the case, then this would be Frankenstein’s third generation device, when all the nuts, bolts, and seams have been hidden, and instead of a horror story it’s a romantic sci-fi.
Now, even though it looks like two pucks, it is a stand, to be sure, but the back of the stand is large and circular, like an oversized puck. I think that is intentional, to increase the charging real estate so your phone can be placed in pretty much any orientation and still charge.
What I Like
When I first saw the Samsung wireless charger, I went through a bit of cognitive dissonance. I love the fact that they didn’t overlook the ability to place your phone in either landscape or portrait mode when charging. That means you get to use it as much as you want and still get it to charge. There are puck models of the Samsung wireless charger which are much simpler and do not have this advantage, but the stand version is as fast as any charging stand you find out there.
I also love the fan on the device, which does an incredible job of dispersing heat. That means you don’t have to worry about either the charging stand or your phone overheating as you charge it.
The charging rate on the Samsung wireless charger is 9-watts. Now, before you frown at that, I can say that the charger still charges a phone very quickly. I don’t exactly know what kind of engineering went into it, but they managed to make their 9-watt fast charging system feel like the 13.5-watt Pleson. I tried my girlfriend’s Samsung Galaxy S9 on the fast charge. It filled up at the optimal rate even while she was chatting and posting on social media the whole time, and with her GPS on. It was just something else.
Even at the standard 5-watts that iPhones get, mine was able to charge in just a few hours. And that’s while I was using it – I was checking messages, had the GPS enabled, browsing social media. All of this, of course, requires that you have a regular type C USB charger for the fast charging and a regular QC 2.0 adapter for the standard charging.
The LED light is multicolored and comes with a pleasant and faint glow to tell you what the charging status of the phone is. With most stands, you expect the LED light to be rather obvious and at the front of the charging stand. However, with the Samsung, it’s a lot more subtle, being located under the circular puck at the bottom of the stand. And not having a bright LED light glaring at me is something I appreciate.
The one I used had two coils, which allowed me to charge my phones in whatever orientation I wanted. There are models of this same charger that come with 3 coils, instead of 2, so you get to charge your phone even more easily due to even more charging real estate. Of course, it is Qi certified and will charge your phone as long as the phone is Qi enabled.
What I do not Like
For the most part, the only thing I did not like here was the fact that this charger is not very case friendly. The official number may be 3 mm, but sometimes, even that might give you issues charging. To be safe, make sure the casing on your phone is less than 2 mm thick (or, be prepared to take your phone out of its case every time you want to charge up).

Ranking The Top 10 Best Costumes In My Hero Academia
Nearly everyone who’s seen My Hero Academia has dreamed about what it’d be like to be born with an awesome quirk. And if you’ve thought about that, you also must have considered what your costume might be. Quirks are one thing. You can’t really control what power you are born with, and if you get stuck with the ability to shoot worms out of your nose or something, then I guess the world is just going to have to put up with NoseWurmz saving it. Costumes, though, are all up to you. They are not only an expression of your super abilities but also your character.
But which My Hero Academia characters have the best costumes? To answer that, I decided to look at their Uniqueness, Functionality, and Usefulness, and this is what I’ve arrived at:
  10. Yuga Aoyama
Although kind of resembling Liberace performing at Medieval Times, Yuga’s costume makes totally sense given his power. As the Shining Hero who shoots a laser out of his navel, he is easily propelled by the force of his tummy blasts, so wearing protective armor is pretty smart. As are the glam rock shades, which stop him from being blinded by his own  attacks.
Yes, the costume is a bit flashy but so is Yuga’s entire personality, and it’s admirable how much he owns it. Also, notice that despite the fact that overusing his laser upsets his stomach, Yuga has opted NOT to incorporate a diaper into his costume, unlike some other heroes (named Minoru.)
  9-8. Backdraft & Tsuyu Asui
The key to disaster relief superheroics is crowd control. From the second you arrive on the scene, you have to establish yourself as an authority figure whose directions people will want to follow, and Backdraft’s costume does exactly that. As a hydrokinetic hero specializing in putting out fires, his costume just screams “guy in charge.” If you got caught in a blaze and the lovechild of a fireman’s bunker gear and a hydrant came to your rescue, the only question you’d have for him is “What do you want me to do?” whereas with a guy like Death Arms, your first question would probably be: “Sir, where is the rest of your shirt?”
Tsuyu/Froppy has a similar thing going on with her costume. You only need a cursory glance at her wetsuit/flipper combo to get exactly what she’s going for: “Oh, she’s a frog. Bet she’d be good during an ocean rescue or something.” Ultimately, Tsuyu’s costumes makes you feel like she would be right in her element in the water, and if you were drowning/lost at sea etc., that’s the kind of thing you’d want to see in a superhero.
  7. Kamui Woods
The world needs more wood-themed superheroes because Groot cannot carry that burden alone. In a world of spandex, plastics, and metal, Kamui Woods stands out as a particularly stylish hero who, other than being seemingly made from wood, also adorns his costume with a wooden mask, belt, kneepads, and shoes. So aside from looking cool, his costume is also simple and straightforward, not getting in the way of the hero’s complex attacks and also being in line with his no-nonsense personality. Wood job! (I refuse to apologize for art.)
  6. Present Mic
Leather is actually a horrible material for superhero costumes. It’s not great in inclement weather, it doesn’t breathe, and it doesn’t allow for a lot of movement, which is another way of saying that it only works for Present Mic.
As the U.A.’s resident rock-n-roll-themed teacher, Mic can get away with wearing an entire cow and a half over his body, immediately scoring him a lot of cool points. Mixed with the high-tech voice enhancer around his neck, he comes off as some kind of Cyborg Rocker, almost like a near-perfect embodiment of the ‘80s. But, ya know, in a good way.
  5. Katsuki Bakugo
If Katsuki’s costume hadn’t been loud, excessive, and generally a bit too much, I’d have thought that Kohei Horikoshi doesn’t understand his own creation. Fortunately, he put Katsuki in a faux-military get-up with two gigantic grenade gauntlets that are great at generating grievous aggravation.
On literally any other hero, this would have looked ridiculous but for Bakugo's specific brand of outrage, it all works and helps strike fear into the hearts of his enemies. Although I still have no idea what that explosion decal is on the back of his head. Is it made from cardboard or…?
  4. Power Loader
Imagine you’re a bank-robber robbing a bank, as you would, when suddenly the ground underneath your feet splits open and you’re faced with a shirtless guy in a techno-dinosaur helmet and metal gloves. Before this human Graboid could even say anything, you’d probably surrender yourself to the police faster than you can say: “Can I get a change of pants please? These ones aren’t clean anymore.” That’s the sheer power of Power Loader’s costume.
  3. Thirteen
Thirteen’s costume is absolutely perfect for a hero specializing in saving people. Although we don’t really know if it’s an actual space suit, it seems like it could withstand anything: heat, cold, freezing waters, even the vacuum of space. The puffiness of it also softens the hero’s image, making them appear calm and gentle, which would put people at ease during a rescue op.
Additionally, the costume creates a barrier between us and Thirteen’s devastating Black Hole Quirk, which sort of makes it like a cellphone cover for a Nokia 3310: it’s there to protect the outside world from its contents, not the other way around.
  2. Tenya Iida
At first glance, Tenya’s costume seems very practical. As one of the fastest humans alive thanks to the engines in his calves, you would assume he’d need armor to protect himself from becoming a wet spot on some wall. But it turns out that his armor is very lightweight and offers little protection. Instead, it’s there to cut down on air resistance and make Tenya even faster, assumingly putting him at more of a risk. That is just awesome and speaks to the character’s powers of concentration and control of his Quirk.
  1. Deku (Shoot Style)
The great thing about the latest incarnation of Deku’s costume is that it does… everything. It reflects his character as an All Might fan with little tributes to the hero here and there. It’s perfect for a combat superhero with all the additional protection that makes it seem like he knows that he’s doing. And finally, it shows you the journey of the character. If you’ve been following Deku from the beginning, then you’ve seen how he went from a rabbity- All Might tribute that was a bit silly to a refined costume that was forged in the field.
Elements of it like iron soles for better kicks or braces and support gloves to protect himself during punches etc. were added to it out of necessity and they mirror Deku’s impressive growth as a hero. The costume is basically an entire hero’s journey in textile/metal form, and I can't wait to see if it changes again on My Hero Academia, which is completely available on Crunchyroll.

Best Smart Scales of 2019
Knowing your weight can be a useful measurement when you're trying to reach a fitness goal. If you're trying to tone up in time for summer, you might be weighing yourself daily. Like most of the devices in our lives, the venerable bathroom scale has received a digital makeover and can now connect to your smartphone and tell you other metrics, such as your body mass index (BMI), body composition and even your heart rate. While you're adding other top smart-home gadgets to your house, why not upgrade your best weight scale?
These smart scales can also instantly upload your data to the fitness app of your choice, where you can see how your workout and diet routines have affected your weight.
After testing six models ranging in price from $39 to $180, the best smart scale is the Withings Body+. At $79, it's not the least nor the most expensive, and it measures far more than just your weight, and syncs with a very intuitive app. Our favorite budget scale is the Withings Body. It's $20 less, and doesn't track as many things, but still works great.
Tumblr media
If you're looking to get a smart scale as a way of getting more healthy, then be sure to check out our best fitness trackers, best GPS watches and best smartwatches.

REASONS TO BUY Well-designed app Useful stats on-display Pregnancy mode Stylish design REASONS TO AVOID Small display $59.99 VIEW AT AMAZON $99.99 View at Bed Bath & Beyond $179.95 View at buybuy BABY ? 65 Amazon customer reviews ☆☆☆☆☆ Overall, the Withings Body+ is the best all-around smart scale. It looks good, gathers more information than any other scale and presents the data in an easy-to-understand app.
For an upgrade, the $180 Withings Body Cardio offers heart health features, including a Pulse Wave Velocity measurement that is only available to users in the European Union. That data can be an indicator of hypertension, but the scale itself doesn't diagnose medical conditions.

Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi | Size: 12.8 x 12.8 inches | Android/iOS: Yes/Yes | Max Users: 8 | Stats: Weight, BMI, weather | Max Weight: 396 pounds | MyFitnessPal Compatible: Yes | Batteries: 4 AAA
REASONS TO BUY Easy set-up Health Mate app lets you easily see trends Accurate weight and weather data Pregnancy mode REASONS TO AVOID Display could be larger $59.99 VIEW AT AMAZON $99.99 View at Bed Bath & Beyond $179.95 View at buybuy BABY ? 65 Amazon customer reviews ☆☆☆☆☆ If you don't need a scale with quite as many features, Withings' $59 Wi-Fi scale, Withings Body, delivers the basics in a stylish package. The scale measures your weight, of course, and does so accurately. I compared it to the $200 Body Cardio and a dumb (er, not Internet-connected) $20 digital scale, and the scale was within 0.2 pounds of both.
The Body, which comes in black or white, has a 2.4 x 1.6-inch display that flashes your weight, weight trend (up or down), BMI and the weather forecast. That's useful if you're weighing in at the beginning of the day before you head outside. The screen isn't the biggest, but it's easy to read and the numbers are big and bright.
The scale syncs with the Health Mate smartphone app, which is where its Wi-Fi connection comes in handy. There you can view your data as a dashboard and see how your weight and BMI fluctuate over time. You can also set goals and pair the scale with apps such as MyFitnessPal. And like Withings'  higher-priced scales, the Body offers a pregnancy mode.
The Body doesn't measure your heart rate or your home's air quality, but those are bonus features you can do without to save some money. And unlike our last budget pick, the Wahoo Balance, this scale works with both iOS and Android devices.
THE MOST AFFORDABLE SMART SCALE Eufy BodySense (Credit: Eufy)
(Image credit: Eufy BodySense (Credit: Eufy)) Eufy BodySense The most affordable smart scale
SPECIFICATIONS
Connectivity: Bluetooth | Size: 12 x 12 inches | Android/iOS: Yes/Yes | Max Users: 20 | Stats: Weight, BMI, BMR, body fat percentage | Max Weight: 397 pounds | MyFitnessPal Compatible: No | Batteries: 4 AAA
REASONS TO BUY Sleek, stylish design Excellent display Fast results REASONS TO AVOID No pregnancy mode No Wi-Fi connectivity $44.99 VIEW AT AMAZON $44.99 View at Amazon Check Walmart ? 807 Amazon customer reviews ☆☆☆☆☆ Eufy's BodySense is a solid, sleek, easy-to-use and affordable smart scale that would be my top budget pick if I didn't love the Withings Body so much.
Eufy's Bluetooth scale, which pairs effortlessly with the EufyLife app for iOS and Android, displays your weight almost instantly on-screen. Of course, nailing the weigh-in is the most basic job for a smart scale. The BodySense scale then syncs that number, along with a host of other metrics, to the app. Those other data points include BMI, what percentage of your body fat is made of water, and how much of your weight is muscle mass, bone mass and body fat mass.
Some Amazon reviewers have noted that the measurements appear to be based on percentages rather than actual fluctuations. But the scale highlights trends and lets you know whether numbers are considered normal for your age, height and weight.
There are a few drawbacks, though, when you compare the Eufy BodySense to the Withings Body. Eufy's scale lacks a pregnancy mode, which makes it a no-go for women who are pregnant or who are planning to become pregnant. The scale also doesn't give you a weather report during your morning weigh-in the way Nokia's does.
But it does support up to 20 different users and offers detailed analysis for a $30 scale, which makes Eufy's BodySense an excellent budget pick.
THE BEST SMART SCALE FOR FITBIT USERS Fitbit Aria 2 (Credit: Fitbit)
(Image credit: Fitbit Aria 2 (Credit: Fitbit)) Fitbit Aria 2 The best smart scale for Fitbit users
SPECIFICATIONS
Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi | Size: 12.3 x 12.3 inches | Android/iOS: Yes/Yes | Max Users: 8 | Stats: Weight, BMI, body fat percentage | Max Weight: 400 pounds | MyFitnessPal Compatible: No | Batteries: 3 AA
REASONS TO BUY Syncs with Fitbit trackers Works with third-party apps REASONS TO AVOID Small display Takes too long to display weight $128.95 VIEW AT AMAZON $128.95 View at Adorama $129.95 View at Walmart ? The Fitbit Aria 2 is a refreshed version of the original Aria, though it doesn't look much different with its all-glass body and backlit LCD display. The next-generation smart scale is more accurate than the first Aria, Fitbit says, and that proved true in our testing.
The Aria 2 connects to your Wi-Fi network via the Fitbit app on your smartphone, so setup is easier than the first-gen version (which required you to connect the scale to Wi-Fi using a web browser).
The Aria 2 measures the weight, body fat percentage and BMI of up to eight users, which it then automatically syncs to the Fitbit app. If you use a Fitbit activity tracker, the app's dashboard syncs information about your weigh-ins with your daily workouts and the food intake you manually input for a true overview of your body on any given day.
The scale takes several seconds to display your weight, which is annoying. It also lacks support for pregnant women. If you're deeply embedded in the Fitbit ecosystem, the Aria 2 is worth a look. Otherwise, the Withings Body+ offers more features for less money.
MOST STYLISH SMART SCALE QardioBase 2 (Credit: Qardio)
(Image credit: QardioBase 2 (Credit: Qardio)) QardioBase 2 Most stylish smart scale
SPECIFICATIONS
Connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi | Size: 13.4 inches in diameter | Android/iOS: Yes/Yes | Max Users: 8 | Stats: Weight, BMI, body fat percentage, muscle, bone, water composition | Max Weight: 396 pounds | MyFitnessPal Compatible: Yes | Batteries: Rechargeable (microUSB)
REASONS TO BUY Stylish design Unique feedback modes Collects a slew of metrics REASONS TO AVOID Takes several seconds to display weight $129 VIEW AT ADORAMA $145.99 View at Amazon $149 View at Walmart ? 1 Walmart customer review ☆☆☆☆☆ We didn't love the first-generation QardioBase, which lost points for requiring eight AAA batteries, being a little unsteady to stand on and a lack of compatibility with other fitness apps. The second-gen model is about an inch larger in diameter than its predecessor, which makes it more stable. This version is also rechargeable and lasts up to a year on a charge instead of needing all those batteries.
The QardioBase 2 is one of the most stylish scales around, if you care about what you're looking at when you weigh yourself. A scale takes up a not-small amount of space in your bathroom, so at least this one looks good.
Qardio is now integrated with third-party apps such as Apple Health and MyFitnessPal, a long-awaited move that we docked points from this scale initially.
However, one drawback to QardioBase 2 compared with other smart scales is the time it takes to display your weight on the display, which is located in the center of the device (where you stand). In my testing, it took about 12 seconds for a number to pop up, rather than the near-instantaneous readings I get from other smart scales and my dumb digital model.
QardioBase 2 has a couple of unique features, such as a smart-feedback mode that shows you smiley faces instead of numbers and a pregnancy mode you can customize according to your due date. You can choose a mode at setup or adjust it later in the Qardio app for iOS or Android. You can use the app to set goals and see charts of your progress over time, as is standard for a smart scale.
