Later that week, David held a housewarming party and invited as many of his family members that could feasibly fit in his house. Miles Jr. and Ollie stood off to the side, discussing life in Strangetown. Zuri sat between her boyfriend Ben, whom was starting to get on her nerves, and Marshall. Twins Rumi and Noah took the loveseat, happy to be able to chat amongst themselves since their respective kids had kept them busy.

Meanwhile, the generation 8 kids played, running through the house like maniacs. Miles III, better known by his family as Three, played red hands with his sister Celeste. Twins Leo and Rory stood off, making jokes about their cousins. And at the end of the hallway Gavin, who was more of a step-cousin if such a thing actually existed, tormented Parker, who everyone knew was easily scared. It was a very typical Zarro family gathering.

“I wanna leave,” Gavin grumbled to his step-mother Coriana. “Nobody here likes me.” “That’s not true, Gavin,” Coriana said with a sigh. “Just...just try, ok?” David walked around the corner and smiled at the two, then tried to make himself scarce once he picked up on the tone of the conversation.

Gavin continued to grumble and Coriana rubbed her forehead in frustration. “Everything ok?” David asked, setting out appetizers for his 1000 guests. Coriana nodded curtly. “Yup,” she said. “Just another day in the life of a stepmom.”

David didn’t feel fully equipped to handle a conversation about step-parenthood and quickly retreated to his small backyard, where his nieces and nephews had gathered in a circle for a water balloon fight. “You kids want some snacks?” he called. “I’ve got finger sandwiches!”

“Later, Uncle Dave!” Parker shouted. “Come join us!” said Celeste. “No way, he’s too old!” Leo laughed. David immediately rolled up his sleeves and rushed over to the kids.  “Balloon me,” he said. Three instantly plopped a fat water balloon in his uncle’s hand. David revved up his throwing arm and threw the balloon as hard as he could, missing by a mile.

“You gotta do it like this!” Celeste called, beaning Gavin directly in the face with a water balloon. The kids (and David) laughed and jumped around as they continued to play well into the night.

As was customary with any Zarro gathering, everyone eventually began to Smustle. The music was loud and everyone headed to the patio out back to get in line to dance.

The kids joined in, learning the moves of their ancestors. With Zarro blood running through their veins, it was clear they were all naturals.

I think she wasn't really jealous when Olivia was pregnant. Zara was 5 and she wanted a sibling but when Noah was born it did kind of upset her. She loved Noah but she felt annoyed when he would get more attention as a baby and she didn't fully understand why. Zara and Noah became really close though.

sage's ex-fiance left her the ring (it was cheap and he just wanted to be rid of her) but adrian gets her a ring eventually anyway. he says it's to make this seem more real but we all know the real reason...

sage starts tucking little notes into the books he's reading but since he reads so many she doesn't always know which one/ones he'll see first so she puts a little code on them so she can keep track

astrid/zara

the first time astrid had a vision that they were able to prevent involving zara was actually in person. they just happened to be at the store (definitely not trying to figure out if it would come true or not) and ran into zara at the exact moment where they could pull her away from the falling sign

because zara is a celebrity, once they do start going out, they agree to try to hide astrid's identity for a little while so they can have privacy. they both blow it pretty much immediately though

chan yeol/jae

there's one (1) girl jae thinks is good enough for chan yeol of the ones he is forced to go on dates with, but it turns out she's not interested either and jae finds that Proof in some way

once he's comfortable/secure that he's not gonna get fired, jae starts slipping little meetings or briefings into yeol's schedule with people who could actually improve the world in hopes that yeol accidentally greenlights one of their ideas without knowing he's been set up

charlotte/victoria

after the wedding, victoria lingers back home/near charlotte for an extra week before going back to california because she's not ready to face her real life yet

when they dated the first time around, they used to go to really pretentious museums and stuff like that because they both thought the other one liked it, oops

elizabeth/ryan

their original plan/contract includes a breakup date

elizabeth starts keeping clothes (work outfits mostly) at ryan's place way before the first time they have sex because they go back to his place just to hang out more often than they go to hers

movies are one of the kinds of "dates" they can go on where they can hide well, but they also do a speakeasy in downtown that none of their friends like

they do eventually make friends with the other person being cheated on (barry's other bf's bf) and have a little circle of "fuck barry tho"

after their first kiss, wynter pretty much avoids julian until he gives her a sign that she didn't mess things up between them

their moms have absolutely no idea they're together until they tell them. charlotte, on the other hand, knows right away

when sonia graduates, miles takes her on a li'l vacation to celebrate (idk where he'd take her but it's super cute regardless)

sonia never sabotages any of miles's dates but one of her coworkers (who works in the kitchen) DEFINITELY purposefully makes worse food for the date because she's rooting for sonia/miles from day 1

linette/wren

before wren figures out who linette is/why a hit's been taken out on her, she tries really, really hard to hide who she is from him. not because she knows who/what he is or anything, just like...it's so nice for someone to seem like they're taking an interest in her that's not about her ex

wren audits a few of her lessons (for recon reasons i assume) and linette becomes really determined to figure out what kind of art he likes

I'm hopeless at maths, so let's look at his family tree and roughly estimate that he was born (maybe) in the middle of the second era, BEFORE king Solomon

at first there was the Deluge (3000 AWC); after the Deluge, there were several generations from Shem (Noah's eldest son)

the tenth patriarch was Farrah, by whom Abraham was born

Abraham begot Isaac, who fathered twins Esau and Jacob

Jacob (the progenitor of the twelve tribes of Israel) became the father of a bunch of children, including Judah, the fourth son from the eldest wife

Judah's children were Phares and Zara, also twins, and Phares also had many children

after Pharah there were Esrom, Aram, Aminadab, Naasson, Salmon and FINALLY Boaz, who married Ruth

to Boaz and Ruth, Ovid was born, then Ovid had Jesse

and FINALLY-2 Jesse begot David, the youngest of his eight sons, who became the king and with whom Agrat bat Mahlat gave birth to Asmodeus

Lucanis and Spite Thought Thread

I just need to get this out of my brain...

You know how Lucanis was fed something in the Ossuary that caused the possession?

Bellara: You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, Lucanis, but... how did the Venatori stick you with Spite? Lucanis: They fed me something. Like he was a parasite in uncooked meat. Bellara: You know, I've spent lots of time around demons, but I've never heard of them being used that way. Lucanis: Zara said she got the idea from some cult in Orlais. They used it on Seekers. Who are immune to demons.

That act—forcing a physical transformation rather than a spiritual one—makes his condition distinct from traditional demonic possession in Dragon Age.

And yet, it reminds me a lot of two other characters: Allen Walker from D.Gray-man and Eddie Brock from Venom.

I'd like to draw a few comparisons.

Though they come from very different universes, Lucanis, Allen, and Eddie have some overlap.

Their power isn’t something they sought out or willingly accepted; it was forced upon them, leaving them in a constant battle for control over their own body and identity.

1. Power That Wasn’t Chosen

None of these three characters chose their power—it was thrust upon them, binding them to something alive and invasive:

Allen Walker was chosen by the Innocence, which fused with his body and transformed his left arm into a weapon of divine power.

Lucanis Dellamorte was force-fed a piece of demon flesh in the Ossuary, permanently binding the demon Spite to him.

Eddie Brock was infected by the Venom symbiote, an alien parasite that latched onto him after being rejected by Spider-Man.

Each of them was altered against their will, their lives forever changed by an entity they never agreed to host.

2. A Power That Thinks for Itself

Their abilities are not just tools—they are alive, capable of acting independently and often against their host’s wishes:

Allen’s Crown Clown can activate on its own to defend him, even when he is unconscious.

Lucanis’s Spite is opportunistic, constantly pushing him toward violence and, at times, taking control outright.

Eddie’s Venom symbiote is fully conscious, talking directly to Eddie, influencing his behavior, and demanding sustenance (usually in the form of human brains).

Unlike a normal power or skill, these entities don’t simply enhance their hosts—they argue with them, influence them, and fight for control.

3. Losing Oneself

At the heart of their struggles is the fear of becoming something else entirely—of losing the battle for control and ceasing to be themselves:

Allen fears becoming a Noah, one of the very beings he fights against, as his connection to the 14th Noah threatens to rewrite his identity.

Lucanis dreads full demonic transformation, knowing that the more he relies on Spite, the thinner the line between them becomes.

Eddie struggles with his humanity, questioning if he’s still himself or if he and Venom have become something entirely new.

Each of them walks a dangerous tightrope, trying to coexist with their 'parasite' without allowing it to define them.

Noah is a tall man, that's a fact

And finding good fitting jeans for him is really hard

He always went to Zara or Bershka or any other basic clothes shop

He always managed to buy jeans that were at least his length, but had to tie them in the waist

So he decided that visiting a specialized shop with jeans, where someone would help him and he didn't have to try on 50 jeans he chose himself, is a great idea

So on his off day he went to his local mall and found a little jean shop

He noticed you straight away, he saw you talking with another man about what colors you have in the type of jeans he chose

He looked around for a bit, but then you approached him with a smile and 'hello, how can I help you?'

You asked, but you already knew what he's looking for

Well, he didn't know what he's looking for (because most men don't fucking know)

He just told you he need jeans that fit nicely and are long enough for him

You were thinking about slim fit, 30 or 31 in waist and 34 or 36 for length

You gave him few pieces to try

Every time your fingers touched his you felt something in your tummy

He kept staring at you, when you were explaining types of jeans you have

That means he didn't really listen what you were saying

When Noah went to try what you handed to him, you made your way behind the cash desk where your colleagues started making fun of your slight blushed cheeks and how you two looked at each other like teenagers

They were pressuring you into giving him your number or ask for his

But you found it unprofessional and were scared of rejection

You went to check with him if the size and type fits

When he came out of the fitting room with the jeans on, you felt something in your tummy (or maybe lower) again

He came in with sweatpants shorts so you didn't see his legs and ass before

But with those jeans hugging him in the right places you couldn't stop staring

To be honest you stare at everyone's ass when they try jeans, that's part of the job, but looking at this handsome man's ass felt embarrasing

He tried different sizes, types and colors and he chose three pairs to buy

You two kept smiling at each other and kept stealing glances

He paid and then left the shop

Your colleagues were making fun of you for the rest of the shift, because you kept day dreaming about Noah

You two were too lost in each others eyes that neither of you noticed that Noah gave you wrong size that he later paid for

He noticed it back home

And he was embarrased

He didn't know if he should come back and exchange it for the right items

He thought about it for a few days, but after he asked Jesse for the 10th time for an opinion Jesse said 'Mate if you don't go back there tomorrow, I will, and I'll make sure she never forgets who you are.'

Which meant he would go there and embarras the hell out of Noah

So the next day he came back like a little puppy

'I'm sorry I took the wrong size when I was here on Monday.'

You didn't mind that, you were happy he came on the day you were at work

You said no worries and helped him find the right size

This time your interaction was more smooth, with some small talk

When you did the exchange on your cash register, he apologized for the 10th time

And before you thought about what you're going to say, you said 'It's no problem, it happens, but if you insist on apologizing you can take me out.'

For a few seconds you both stood there like 🧍🏼‍♀️🧍🏽

'I'm so sorry, that was really inappropriate, I'm sorry.'

'If you insist on applogozing, you can let me take you out for dinner.' he used your words and turned the situation around with a smirk on his face

You said yes, also said 'I'm sorry' few more times

You two exchanged numbers and set up a date for your dinner

Your colleagues were laughing behind the corner at you interaction and then just said that at least you two will have a cute story for your kids

SVU Rewatch thoughts 15-16

This is random but I wanted to share. I've realized how much I've changed over the years while watching this show. I was around 18 when season 16 came out and I perceive it so much differently now that I'm older and have been through more hardship and heartbreak.

When I originally watched it I was a huge fan of Nick and Amanda being together and didn't understand why their relationship wasn't truly noted and skimmed over. Rewatching it I know why. It was an absolute clusterfuck and a total mistake. It has to be one of, if not the most, toxic SVU relationship ever. They were so bad for each other. He was hurting and wanted to save her and she did not want to be a victim or saved at all. She liked to push his buttons for his reaction and he gave it. It was so BAD. Thank you, unhealthy childhood for making me not see toxic.

I also loved Amanda, and I still do like her in later seasons but she was AWFUL in season 15 to the point where I could barely stand watching her episodes and didn't really feel bad for her like I felt I should. She has no repercussions for any of her bad choices. Nick has to be a traffic cop because he beat up a pedophile but she can be a full-out dirty cop to try to get away with her gambling problem and it's okay because Murphy is there to save her? And she is sleeping with him.

Okay, just two more thoughts that I had if anyone cares.

16x1: I forgot how mean Carisi played in his first episode. Empty promises about citizenship to those trafficked girls to get them to flip- broke my heart. (Granted I've never watched seasons 17-21 so I didn't get to really see his character development but I plan to) That scene with the girl where he is yelling at her telling her to call and get somebody who will take it rough- that's what he was there for? Shit surprised me, I don't remember it at all. I love Carisi so much and would never want to change his character but he would have been so fun to watch as a suspect again or a dirty cop.

16x3: The scene with Nick and Noah confirms in my Amaro-loving heart that had the writers been nice to him and given him a healthy relationship Nick would have had a house full of adorable Latino babies. I think had he had a supportive romantic partner he wouldn't have gotten himself into as much trouble either. He had no emotional support or affection. I mean look at who he was paired with:

Maria- won't tell him their relationship is over, hides things from him and makes him jealous, totally overreacts when he does get jealous, causes huge scenes at his workplace, puts his partner/ boss in the middle of their drama, takes away his daughter that HE was raising BY HIMSELF while she was at war, makes it a hard and painful process for him to see his daughter with no leeway, tries to get him to move across the country on false pretenses of their relationship continuing, then when he says he won't let her take Zara threatens to ruin his career.

Cynthia- Please don't make me go there. I absolutely hated this whole arc.

Amanda- I already told you how I felt about this one.

The man was fucked from day one.
