SHAPES OF TOLERANCE
Can you believe it is nearly the end of June and I have finally managed to draft a second post?
By the way, it seems as if EURO 2024 has just started, but let me tell you, it will finish in a blink of an eye.
Staying on the subject, it is not difficult to notice that socio-cultural layer of the tournament tend to evoke as many emotions as game results; let’s take the ‘No to Racism’ campaign as a starting point. Online and offline discussions about race and, more recently, gender discrimination in sport may, to some, be of equal or higher importance than the idea of the championship itself.
I believe that tolerance is one of the core values learned (or not) in the childhood and teen years, which plays a significant role in moulding personal point of view on various social and cultural aspects of the past, present and future.
Tolerance, similarly to pacifism, has many facets and can present some limits, which are more likely to be set by authority, on a public and private level.
French Marxist philosopher, Louis Althusser¹, defined such institutions as repressive and ideological state apparatuses, which hold a substantial control over maintaining a refined ideology, reproduced through mass media.
‘Ideology represents the imaginary relationship of individuals to their real conditions of existence’

Migrasyon: Sulit o Hindi?
He replied with “siguro hindi na, kasi mas malaki ang kita dito kaysa sa Pinas” (maybe not anymore, because the income here is higher than in the Philippines).

This is bullshit, Louise forgets that when Alex decides to leave their romance she will be a complete stranger to everyone, maybe the day she doesn't have Alex's money, she will be more humanitarian.
Hey, not to change the subject or anything but I met alex and louise back when we had gotten all the recents, I never got a photo. Just a signature. I didn't want to bother them with a photo + I didn't look the best that day but I asked alex if I could hug him as I was telling him how much he's saved me when he leaned into hug me louise says something along the lines of "actually he can't, we're really busy right now." I remained respectful to her and waited awkwardly for alex to finish signing my purse but louise really rubbed me the wrong way, like the way she said it didn't seem like she was in a hurry, or being genuine. Like it was nasty, like she was disgusted by me. Once alex gave my pen back they were on there way. I could hear louise giggling and Alex's "enough" But when he said it, it wasn't playful. Like he genuinely seemed frustrated. Alex had seemed to be in a good mood before, he was smiling and genuinely looked happy when I went up to him. I'm just confused and I've held off of telling anyone besides those close to me because I sadly was a louise supporter, but I've felt weird about it ever since. I can't seem to forget about it. when asking my friends about it we came to the conclusion that it was either race based (I'm African american), me being another woman, or that I wasn't dressed the best (I was in a rough state, I struggle with HORRIBLE depression and I could barely pull myself out the door that morning to get groceries) anyways. Just looking for thoughts, last time I told someone in the fandom I was attacked by her followers :/
Interesting. I'm not surprised, she's too arrogant and insecure.
