Family gathering bingo
☑ Misgendered constantly
☑ Literally no one listening to what I had to say to the point they just straight up started talking mid my sentence and ignored the rest
☑ Not including me in any conversation at all and not for the lack of trying
☑ Family friend telling my mom she has to talk about something concerning me while I'm literally sitting right next to her dumbfounded
☑ Utter refusal to respect boundaries or some basic rules we set
☑ Parents arguing in the car so fucking loud I couldn't think on the way home
☑ Being referred to as "a girl"
☑ Parents downright annoyed when I got talkative and funny

can we see more of dad ghost ♥︎ im obsessedLMAO
“soft around the edges”
Tumblr media
aka when ghost’s son runs up to him in front of the team (a little part 2 to this fic. part 3 here.)
Soap doesn't share the Lieutenant's secret with the rest of the force.
Things go back to normal after that brief, bizarre encounter with you. When their break is over, Ghost carries on the typical dry humor and sharp orders, pretending that Soap never had dinner at his cozy home and met his pregnant wife.
Though, MacTavish does notice little differences in his stoic superior turned new dad. Ghost is shockingly, and ever-so-slightly, nicer. His language is still foul. But he's a little less rough around the edges: compliments Soap a bit more, tells him to shut the fuck up a little bit less.
It's not something that any of the others notice, of course, which is why they are all so baffled when they finally do figure out about Ghost's secret family.
It's two years later when they are disbanding at a base in the UK that you accidentally reveal yourself.
It's truly an accident.
Whenever you pick him up from the military base, Simon instructs you to wait outside. Says he doesn't want to put you at any risk. But you have a knack for not listening to him. You missed him so much during the past four months, and the two-year-old in your arms was old enough to start asking where his dad was, so you figured you could wait for him inside this time, hidden away in a corner.
Your plan might have worked if it weren't for the swell of your belly making it difficult for you to hold the squirming toddler.
He recognizes his dad even with the skull mask on.
Immediately starts to yelp for him, kicking his little feet around, and giving you no choice but to set the toddler down for a second. But your son is growing so much, and he's got his father's determination.
It's definitely riveting for Soap and the team to witness the whole thing unfold.
At first sight, the waddling two-year-old boy doesn't faze them. There were usually family members and little ones waiting at the gate. Gaz and Price are saying their goodbyes when they both notice that the toddler running around is coming in their direction. Or more specifically, in Ghost's direction.
Soap knows right away what's happening.
Watches with raised brows.
For the rest of the team, this is the first time they witness Ghost's demeanor shift to something so soft and peculiar. His mannerisms give everything away before the kid even reaches him: a typically-unfazed Ghost looks around frantically, probably wondering how the hell his son even got here, until he spots you waddling sheepishly after him.
Oh, fuckin' hell.
You give your husband an apologetic look that says I'm sorry and help me at the same time.
“Can’t believe what I’m seeing," Gaz mutters, watching as Ghost bends down to pick up the small child.
Tell me 'bout it, Soap wants to say. But he's already gone through the initial disbelief two years ago, so now, he simply watches with knowing eyes.
He can't say he didn't spend some time the past two years wondering what kind of parents you and Ghost had become. He knew bits and pieces of his past and hesitantly wondered if Ghost had carried on that behavior.
But now he witnesses the Lieutenant scoop the toddler in his arms, making him look so small against his broad chest. “I’ve got ya, kid.” And he is tucking the boy's head underneath his chin and pressing his masked nose to the top of his hair.
Then, the toddler reaches a small hand to his mask and pats it, perhaps harder than he realizes, but Ghost simply shakes his head and patiently wraps his much larger hand around the curious little one’s.
Ghost is soft and gentle and anything but angry, even though you worried that he might have been.
Everything seems to sink in for the team when they see you finally reach your husband. Your mouth moving to rush out apologies:
"I'm sorry, Simon, I know you said to wait outside. We just really wanted to see you and I tried to hold him and-"
And Ghost might have been frustrated on another day. But on this day, he’s just relieved to see you again. It's apparent to all of the eyes watching that this brooding man, with his deadpan eyes and a trademark mask, is utterly and unabashedly in love with you and the little family you have gifted him. Finally able to fully relax as he wraps an arm around your waist and nuzzles your neck, something you could never imagine him doing in public like this a few years ago.
“S’okay, love,” he tells you. “Can’t be mad, can I? Not when I get to see you two.”
You’re carrying his second child and he hasn't seen you in months and he simply doesn't give a fuck at the moment.
To his team watching, the Lieutenant seems like another person.
They're watching Simon, not Ghost.
"That's his girl, then?" Alejandro finally asks, as they have been frozen in place. Watching in curiosity and bewilderment.
“Wife seems like,” Gaz says. Shooting Soap a curious look, he adds, “Did you know anything about this?”
“Hell,” Soap shrugs to feign innocence. “Didn’t know a thing-“
But, of course, you’re soon waving over at him and smiling before your husband can stop you. “Hi, Johnny!”
Guilty and caught, Soap offers a small wave in return before shaking his head. “Christ, alright. May have ran into them awhile back.”
“And you didn’t tell us, MacTavish?” Gaz scoffs.
“Not my secret to tell,” Soap shrugs again and watches as Ghost caresses your pregnant stomach. He leans down to whisper something in your ear and you smile coyly at him, planting a little kiss to the cheek of his hard mask. Ghost is somehow able to hold you and your son firmly against his chest and still have more room. Must be what had the two of you realizing that a fourth family member was needed.
Soap hears the snide remarks as your family leaves and is out of earshot.
Looks like Ghost keeps himself busy on leave.
You think he helps with the diapers?
The kid’s even got his eyes.
Reckon he takes the mask off during sex?
Finally, Soap groans out, “Haud yer wheesht. That’s enough.”
“Sergeant’s right,” Price, whose own surprise has faded into something more stern, quiets the members of the team who are still lingering. “That’s your superior you’re gosspin’ about. Show some respect and bugger off.”
But once the Captain is gone, Soap allows himself this one quip (because, he’d been so good at not sharing what he’d seen for two years).
It’s a quiet one that he mentions only to Kyle.
“He takes her shopping an’ carries all the bags. Saw it myself.”

Wait neighbor Sukuna is cuteeeeee I need a story pleaseeee🥹🥹🥹
another neighbor!Sukuna drabble. your first unofficial date.
cw: fluff, single parent reader, Sukuna is a good neighbor but a bad dude
The first time that Sukuna took you out happened on accident.
He'd been keeping track of your comings and goings so he could start being in the hallway at the same time as you to give a casual hello. His favorite times were when you had time to just chat without you needing to rush off to work or to daycare or one of the many activities you always were taking your daughter to.
It was a Saturday morning and Sukuna's ears perked up when he heard you talking to your daughter down the hallway. You couldn't clearly hear what you were saying but the tone seemed soothing and he thought he could even make out some sniffling from your daughter, unusual since she was usually so cheerful.
Sukuna grabbed his mailbox key so he had a purpose for stepping outside and slipped some shoes on before going into the hallway.
"Morning, neighbor," you managed cheerfully and Sukuna looked down to see that your daughter had tears on her face. The sight had his hackles up immediately.
"Are you all okay?" He tried to sound nonchalant and he wondered if it worked as you wiped away some of your daughter's tears.
"We're okay, it's just," you paused here and looked at your daughter. "Her dad was going to take her to the aquarium but something came up and he's not going to make it. I know he's really disappointed he can't go." The touch of anger in your eyes made him think that this was you just trying to make your daughter feel better.
Sukuna had been planning to wait a little longer, to build more of a rapport with you before trying anything, but he couldn't just see you or your kid look like this over some loser who couldn't be a real man for his family.
"Well I don't see why that means we can't go to the aquarium," he said and he finally got the kid to stop crying for a second and look up at him.
"We don't have a car and it's over two hours by subway," you said reluctantly and Sukuna couldn't contain his sly grin.
"I have a car, and I wouldn't mind taking you. If that's okay with you, of course."
"Yes, yes, yes, can we go mommy, please?" Sukuna had never heard your toddler say so much before and you bit your lip before looking back at him. Sukuna could barely keep his eyes off your mouth but he knew if he looked he'd kiss you and this wasn't the place for it.
"Are you sure?"
"I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to do it, sweetheart." You blushed a little at that and looked down at your daughter.
"Alright bug, we can go. But make sure you tell Mr. Ryomen thank you."
"Thank you, Mr. Ryomen," your daughter echoed dutifully and he knelt down to ruffle her hair.
"No need to thank me, and I told you, you can both just call me Sukuna."
"Thank you, Sukuna." Sukuna really wanted to kiss you. But he knew that if he did it now it would ruin this perfect chance for you to see what he could be for you, for both of you.
You bring out a car seat that you have in your apartment and you show Sukuna how to install it. Sukuna pays attention because he plans on going on many more trips with the two of you. Maybe the car seat can even just stay here(not yet, not yet, not yet he keeps telling himself).
He encourages you to choose the radio station you listen to on the way over and you choose a throwback station that has you and the kid singing along to. It's nice and warm and Sukuna knows every person he's ever met would be baffled at the scene but it feels too fucking right to care.
He pays once you get there, waving off your protests and you spend all day looking at the exhibits. When you get to the pool where you can pet the stingrays, he lifts your daughter up so she can reach them and shows her how to hold her fingers so the animals will come up to her. He can feel your gaze on him, but this isn't even just for you. The more time he spends with your daughter, the more he feels like she's supposed to be his too.
Finally though, the toddler being a toddler gets hangry and you all stop at the cafe for a light lunch. He watches as you try to persuade your daughter to have some fruit in addition to the cookie she has her eye on and Sukuna pops some of the grapes in his mouth with an exaggerated noise of pleasure, making mini-you copy him.
"Thanks," you tell him as you watch your daughter finish up her fruit. "It was one thing when it was just the vegetables she didn't like but now she's got beef with fruits and I'm worried she's going to end up with scurvy."
"No problem, happy to help." and the thing is, Sukuna is happy to help. He remains happy as you finish going through the aquarium. When your daughter gets too tired, he picks her up and carries her so you can make your way back to your car.
"All tired out, bug," you say, affectionately rubbing her back. He hoists her up higher on his hip as you enter the lobby when an older woman stops you.
"Such a beautiful family you have here," she says waving at the sleepy toddler on Sukuna's hip and he nods as you blush.
Neither of you speak about it, but he wonders if it's on your mind as much as his on your way back to your apartment building. He lets you say your goodbyes as the sleeping girl on your shoulder drools in her sleep.
When Sukuna enters his apartment he leans back against his door and just lets the warmth of the day wash over him. He had known before what he wanted, but now he felt almost desperate.
His days spent in this quiet apartment alone were numbered, and he was going to make sure you knew his intentions as soon as possible.
After all, he still had your car seat.

PROMPTS FROM LIFE IS STRANGE, SEASON 1 *  assorted dialogue, suggested by ismelodrama, adjust as necessary
everything is a picture waiting for be taken.
you're just jealous of me because i actually do the things you can't.
are you hiding something?
i'm sick of your disrespect. tell me the truth!
i don't want to fight with you anymore. i don't want to fight with anyone anymore.
i was eating those beans!
how the hell did you know about that photo?
always take the shot. my number one rule of photography.
you just don't listen, do you?
there's something weird going on with you.
you've only been here for three weeks and you're already causing conflict.
after this week, you are certainly not a little kid anymore.
not now. i'm contemplating shit.
are you fucking kidding me? this is major bullshit!
i didn't have all the evidence at the time.
we all make decisions we regret.
i'm not gonna make any excuses for my behavior.
i'd put stephen hawking against picasso any day.
it sucks to be dragged into the spotlight.
nobody believes me anyway.
you're exactly the kind of soldier i'd want by my side in a war.
why the hell not?
i almost asked you to hang out.
you should have asked me.
maybe we're too much alike.
i don't believe anything you say. you're full of shit.
eat a dick, [name].
i'll be in the tardis getting my delorean ready.
since you're the mysterious superhero... i'll be your faithful chauffeur and companion.
you don't know who the fuck i am or who you're messing around with.
where'd you get that? what are you doing? come on, put that thing down!
don't ever tell me what to do! i'm so sick of people trying to control me!
so you can't help me?
i told you before that i'll always believe you.
i may be a pest but... i'm a good listener.
you're the bravest person i've ever known.
for every action, there's a reaction.
i'm trying. but you have to understand my position.
i know i can be a pain in the ass... and you've always treated me like a person, not a beta nerd.
why do you want all your friends to die?
oh i see. i'm not important to you anymore.
nobody lectures me. everybody tries though.
do not analyze me! i pay people for that.
hey, that's total slander!
you don't know shit about my father, or me.
you're all fucked!
everybody hates me.
[name]... it's me. i just wanted to say i'm sorry.
i truly am sorry for being such a bastard.
you would have been cool to hang out with.
you might as well choose me.
i'm not perfect, okay?
you have talent, [name].
you don't have to push people out of your way.
thanks for admitting again that i have some talent.
do you think it's, like, fate we're not supposed to be friends?
nobody says we have to be friends.
everybody lies. no exceptions.
i came for all of you.
i'm in a nightmare and i can't wake up.
no wonder they call it a "web." nothing can ever get out.
i wish i could go back in time and erase everything.
just tell me you do have the photograph.
now shut up and listen.
i'm not a real scientist.
i was just happy just being your friend.
[name], i'm so sorry you had to go through all that.
i don't think i can concentrate on going out to the movies.
everybody pretends to care until they don't.
even angels need angels, [name].
i might be naive, but i feel their struggle.
why did you stop me from jumping?
this shit pit has taken everyone i've ever loved.
when a door closes, a window opens... or something like that.
i keep going back in time.
how could there be a more important moment in history?
thank you for trusting me.
hey... be careful out there.
what kind of friend are you?
you never understood me, or what happened to me.
i'll always be alone, thanks to you.
just in case we don't get out of this...
i'm going to make the right choices from now on.
i've been feeling like this might be actually the end of the world.
i hate to say that i'm glad to see you, but i'm glad to see you.
i wish i could stay in this moment forever... but then it wouldn't be a moment.
if that tornado came right now, i would just sit here and watch for a while.
i just feel like escaping.
i have total faith that you'll do the right thing when the time comes.
with great power comes great bullshit.
am i pushing myself too hard?
you like to hurt people, huh?
i'm glad you decided to escort me.
i know this is a bad time, but can i get one picture?
of course i believe you. you're the most amazing person i've ever met, and i'm glad you trust me.
i don't have a fucking clue what's going on.

darlin’ i’d wait for you
Pairing: Joel Miller x fem!reader (plus platonic Ellie Williams x fem!reader)
Author’s note: Inspired by my real life love for my godchildren. Mis almas, no hay nadie que ame más que tú. Gracias por elegirme.
Summary: “Ten fingers. Ten toes. And even if you had none of them, you’d still be the grandest thing I’ve ever seen.” - Emily Henry, Beach Read aka you and Joel have a baby [3.0k]
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI, descriptions of labor and delivery (nothing graphic), swearing, lots of emotions, fluff
Tumblr media
"You need to be resting!" Maria says as you pace the living room with your hands on your hips. Ellie is watching you move from her space in the kitchen, her knee bouncing with anxiety as she sits there.
"You need to find Joel!"
"Tommy's getting him right now. Please, just lay down."
"I'm fine," another contraction ripples through your body, and you grip the back of the couch. "Fuck! I can't believe Joel convinced me to do this again!" You yell. The pain tightens in your lower abdomen, and you drop your head to the cushions, unable to focus on anything else. Strong hands press against the small of your back, applying the perfect counter pressure to your contraction. The tension releases just enough for you to pick your head up and find Maria standing over your shoulder, a knowing look in her eyes. No words need to be exchanged for her to know how grateful you are for her presence.
The contractions have been coming and going since late last night, but you didn't think much of it. They were sporadic and not painful enough to make you think you were in labor. You had false contractions with Jane and expected the same thing with this one, except that these contractions became very real very fast. Joel was already out on patrol when you had Ellie run to Tommy and Maria's for additional help because they were getting so bad. This baby is coming soon.
"Do you have a bag ready to go?" Maria asks as the contraction ends, and you nod, pushing yourself up.
"In our bedroom closet, but it's missing some stuff."
"Okay, tell me what you need, and I'll pack it."
"I can do it."
"Honey, if you walk up those stairs, there's no way you'll make it back down." She says, and you sigh. Reluctantly, you list some last-minute things that need to get thrown in the bag and where they'll be. Maria turns on her heels and sprints up the stairs, ever a woman on a mission. Ellie walks over to you as Maria's figure disappears, standing awkwardly near you as you hold your belly.
"I'm sorry. I'm not trying to scare you." You say, wrapping her in a hug or as much of a hug as you can manage with the baby in between you. She relaxes and lets out a big breath as you rub her back.
"I feel like I should be the one comforting you."
"I've done this before. I know what I'm doing."
"Yeah, but that was before," the fear in her voice rattles you to your core, and you pull away to look at her. Her bottom lip is cracked and bleeding from her teeth worrying at it all morning, and she looks like the scared kid you met in Boston. "You really should be on the way to the hospital."
"As soon as Joel gets here, I'll go, okay?" You say, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She shakes her head, and you open your mouth to say something more, but the vice grip returns, and you grip her shoulders. Your head bows under the weight of the pain, and you clutch Ellie like a lifeline.
"Okay, they're getting closer together. Maria!" Ellie yells as she holds you upright. You vaguely register Maria rushing down the stairs and telling Ellie something, but you don't have enough energy to listen. Time could've stopped right there, and you would've had no way of knowing. No stab wound, gunshot, or punch even comes close to this pain level. Your breathing is uneven, and you can feel yourself sweating bullets despite the cool August air. You thought you were ready. You thought you knew what to expect after Jane, but this is different. You wonder why you thought you could have another baby as the contraction fades. Maria says your name, and you pick your head up from Ellie's shoulder.
"We need to get you to the hospital right now. Joel will meet us there." She says, but you shake your head, the lump of panic in your throat tightening. Memories of begging your mom, Jane's dad, friends, or anyone to come to the hospital so you wouldn't be alone replay in your head. You were alone and scared and sixteen fucking years old when you had Jane on a stormy Tuesday morning. The nurses looked at you like a kicked puppy and mumbled, "a baby having a baby," under their breaths when they left you to cry alone while holding your newborn.
"No, no, no. Joel's not here yet. I'm not going without him."
"I promise that Tommy will bring him to you. I'm sure they're on their way back now."
"I'm not going by myself!" The harshness in your tone makes everybody in the room pause. "I've already done this alone once, and I'm not fucking doing it again. So, we are going to wait for Joel even if I have this baby on the fucking floor! Do you understand me?"
"Hey," Ellie says softly. "Hey, you're not alone. At all. We're all here because we love you and want you to be safe. Nobody is going to leave, okay?" She says, rubbing your back as tears fill your eyes.
"I can't do this." without her, you want to add, but you don't. Ellie pushes the sweaty hair out of your eyes and holds your face so you can look at her. Your breath is shaky, and you feel like you could shatter into a million pieces, but her brown eyes are looking into yours so intently that you have no choice but to look back.
"You can. You can do this. You're doing so good. You're going to have this baby, and it'll probably be the cutest fucking baby ever. And we'll all make stupid faces at it and love it even though I don't even think I like most babies, and you'll be okay. Both of you," her eyes don't move from yours as she speaks, even when you start crying. "You're not alone, but I can tell you're in pain, and we need to get to the hospital before it gets worse, okay?" She asks, and you take a shaky breath before nodding. Ellie and Maria seem to let out sighs of relief at the same time, and they start ushering you to the door when it opens.
"I'm here! I'm here! I'm sorry I'm late," Joel yells as he and Tommy run in. He smiles and runs over and kisses you. You have half a mind to smack him for looking so giddy when you're in so much pain, but let him kiss you anyway. "You ready to have a baby?" He asks as another contraction tightens in your stomach, making you squeeze him tightly. You don't get to see your family scrambling to get out the door, but you feel it. Bags and coats find owners as your entourage helps support you down the steps of your home and on the path to the hospital.
Four contractions come and go on the way to the hospital doors, where Maria, Tommy, and Ellie cheer and promise to wait there until you're ready for them. "Almost there, baby. We're gonna get you all the good drugs, okay?" Joel tells you quietly as he flags down a nurse and a wheelchair for you. The nurse asks rapid-fire questions as she rushes you into a delivery room, and Joel does his best to answer them. You curl into yourself the second your body hits the hospital bed, yet another contraction hitting you, but this time with a familiar splitting pain. You're not going to have time for the good drugs.
The rest is a blur of doctors, nurses, questions, and Joel whispering praises into your temple. Your vision struggles to focus on anything as pain radiates from your hips to your back and up your spine. It's excruciating and dizzying, and you think you'd throw up if you weren't so focused on getting this fucking kid out. "One more, baby. One more push, and then it's over." Joel tells you. You don't respond. You can't. All the blood rushes through your ears, and you squeeze his hand hard. For a moment, the whole world stops, and tears fall down Joel's face as the tiny baby is placed on your chest. You gasp and hold them close as they screech, announcing their arrival loudly.
"It's a girl!" Someone announces, and you laugh weakly, struggling to catch your breath. You look down at your daughter and kiss her head as she continues to cry.
"You're okay. I've got you. We're okay, sweetheart. You're safe," you tell her, rubbing her back. Joel reaches out to trace the apple of her cheek and grabs her tiny hand. You and Joel join her crying, everything besides your family becoming obsolete. Joel presses a chaste kiss to your lips and smiles when you laugh against him. "I told you so." You say, and he laughs.
"You were right," he says. "I'm so proud of you." He kisses you again as your daughter cries beautifully on your chest. Jane didn't cry at first when she was born, effectively scaring the shit out of you and everyone else in the room, but when she finally did, it was like you were breathing for the first time, too. You think this may be the first time since her death that you've felt that much peace.
Joel cuts the cord, and the room devolves into a controlled madness with nurses and doctors calling things back and forth to each other. You don't care. The little girl on your chest has settled down and tucked her head under your chin, listening to your rapid heartbeat and recognizing the pattern. "We're right here, baby girl. We're not going anywhere, okay?" You whisper to her, kissing her over and over again. She smiles, and you immediately recognize Joel's crooked smile— nine months of carrying her and a record-breakingly fast delivery for her to be his twin.
"Mama, we're gonna take her to get cleaned up and get her measurements, okay? The doctor's working on getting you fixed up, too." A nurse says, and you nod.
"Just be careful, please. I made her from scratch, and it took a really fucking long time." You say as you pass her to the nurse. Everyone, including Joel, laughs even though you're serious. Joel leaves your side only to follow the nurse to the other side of the room, watching her every movement meticulously. You keep eyes on both of them. She starts fussing as the nurse cleans her up, and Joel reaches out to smooth her hair. He says something to her that you can't hear and watch him start crying again. She settles down again, but Joel is a mess. The nurse offers him a tissue, and you laugh to yourself but don't do anything to get his attention.
Let them have their secret conversation. You have a feeling it will be the first of many.
Tumblr media
She's asleep, but you can't stop looking at her. Joel is lying in the hospital bed with you as she rests in his arms, your chin hooked over his shoulder so you can stare at her. The little girl who gave you enough excitement for a lifetime is bundled up in a white blanket with a striped hat covering her dark hair. Her legs are long and skinny, but she's strong, grasping anything within reach.
She has his nose and lips, but your eyes match. Her little chest rises and falls steadily, and little sighs come from her occasionally as she sleeps. Her hand somehow escaped the swaddle, and her fingers flex around the blanket's fabric like she's trying to decide whether she likes it. Joel reaches for her tiny hand and tries to tuck it away again, but she resists, making an angry face until he lets go. You laugh and melt simultaneously at her actions.
"She's perfect," you whisper as you kiss Joel's shoulder. He hums and turns to kiss your temple. "How did we get so lucky?"
"I've no idea," he whispers back. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"Her. This. Making me a dad again." His voice is so tender and raw that your eyes mist up again. You sniffle and wipe your eyes.
"Anytime, cowboy," you rest your hand on her chest to feel the little heartbeat you made from nothing but stardust and blood. Her face scrunches up in her sleep before her little fingers find yours. "Well, maybe not anytime, but you know what I meant."
"Oh, 'm ready for another one right now."
"Never in a million fucking years could you convince me to do that again."
"You did great." He says, and you smile. You're both exhausted and should be sleeping, but you can't stop looking at the life you created together. She's not even a day old, and you know you would tear the world into a thousand pieces if she asked you to. You would do anything for her.
"D'you still like the name we picked?" You ask, and he nods.
"Do you?"
"I think it's perfect for her."
"Hey, guys," a nurse peeks her head in the door. "Are we ready for some visitors?" She asks. You nod, and Joel adjusts baby girl in his arms. Her little arm reaches up in a stretch, and she fusses when she loses the grip on your hand. You tell her you're not far, and Joel bounces her.
"Hey," Ellie says softly as she enters the room. You smile and sit up, ignoring the jarring pain in your hips at the movement. "Oh, my God. How are you feeling?" She asks as she hugs you like she's afraid she'll break you if she holds you too tight. You rub her back and kiss her head.
"I'm okay. I delivered pretty much the second they could get me to lay down."
"I knew we should've gone to the hospital sooner!" Ellie says, and Joel shushes her. She makes an eek face as she looks at him.
"A baby's tryin' to sleep here."
"Holy shit," she breathes, taking in the bundle in Joel's arms for the first time. "Girl or boy?"
"I'm pretty sure the Millers are only capable of having girls at this point," you say, and Ellie smiles. "Do you wanna hold her?"
"Can I?" She asks as Joel stands. She's unsure what to do but copies Joel's position and puts a hand under her back.
"Support her head," Joel instructs quietly as he carefully transitions your daughter into Ellie's arms.
"I got it. I got it," she says. Instinctively, she starts swaying back and forth and patting the baby's back. Joel stays nearby, watching as Ellie gets comfortable holding her. Your heart could explode seeing the three of them together. "Who are you?" She asks quietly, pulling the blanket under the baby's chin so she can see her.
"This is Charlotte Elaine Miller," you say. "Charlie, for short."
"Hey there, Charlie girl. My name's Ellie."
"She's your big sister." Joel adds. Even though he's talking to Charlie, he's looking at Ellie. She takes a shaky breath as she processes his words. He wraps an arm around her shoulders and kisses her forehead.
"I'm one of your big sisters," she says. The pregnancy hormones and the day's emotions catch up with you, and you couldn’t stop the tears even if you wanted to. Something about seeing Ellie with Charlie hits you hard. "I've got so much to teach you and tell you about when you're a little bigger, though. There's not much I can do with you right now except, well, this," She shrugs as if to make her point to the sleeping baby, and you laugh. Charlie stretches again, probably getting used to having so much room now that she's out of you, and yawns. "Oh, big yawn. Good job." Ellie praises.
"You're a natural," Joel says, making her smile.
"I dunno about that, but she does like me. Right, Charlie girl?" she asks, and the Charlie girl in question chuffs. "Oh, we're gonna have so much fun together." She says sincerely. Joel meets your eyes, sending you a knowing look and a crooked smile, and you smile back a little sadly. He works at his jaw, and his Adam's apple bobs as his eyes sparkle with tears again. No words need to be exchanged. You know. You may be one of the only people who know. Ellie rambles to Charlie, ever the present audience, and you remember, silent and pious in your devotion.
You think you'll spend your whole life remembering, a constant scramble for pieces of memories that bring her closer. You think you'll find bits of her in music, the summer sun, and your girls' eyes. You think you'll tell Charlie of her big sisters, who were loved and cherished beyond belief, and their shared adoration of Patti Smith. You think you'll be able to find a way to talk about her that doesn't feel like your soul is desperately ripping away from you. For Sarah, Jane, Ellie, and now Charlie, you think you would do anything.
Even after so much loss, destruction, and nights spent hopelessly staring at the wall like it would be enough to start Jane's heart again, you think you would do it all again. The world can be a really shitty place, and you've seen firsthand how horrible people can be to each other. You and Joel have been a million different versions of awful people, and you can never escape that. But you have Ellie and Charlie. And each other. And for a moment, in this horribly lit hospital room, every minute of that misery has meaning.

Javier was known for being an asshole.
Everyone in the office called him that; not to his face, of course, since he was the boss, but he knew, and honestly? He kind of did it on purpose. Being sent back to Colombia to be the CIA puppy didn't in fact thrilled him, but he also wasn't there to make friends. A little bit later than one month into his new position and Javier had already changed secretaries twice. Just by being himself.
The first one was a kind old lady that liked to talk a little bit too much for Javi's taste - which was none. To be fair, he tried to handle her. He listened to her talking of her yougest child finishing college, but she asked him if maybe he could get him a job at the deparment - what in the actual fuck? -, she felt the need to tell him that her older one and his wife were trying to have a baby - he wondered what gave her the impression he wanted to know that her son was fucking someone raw. She just wouldn't shut up. She left not much after a month, at his first snap - took him too long, to be honest.
The last one was a young man fresh out of the academy, who thanked him for the opportunity every time he saw him - which, since he was just outside his office, was pretty often. Despite how thankful he was for the job, he wasn't very interested in working, at least not as he was to flirting with another secretary in the floor below. But that wasn't the worst part, the kid had no idea what he was supposed to do and would go ask Javier for help for every task given to him - he swore he was shaking everytime. Javi didn't care that he was young and was learning, he didn't receive enough to raise a child at work. Didn't last a week.
Javier had headaches just by the thought of who would be sent next. With his current luck, it could be his ex-fiancée. He definitely didn't expect you knocking on his office door and introducing yourself as his new secretary. He was speechless for a moment; you were the combo of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life with a killing black pencil skirt, so tight it showed all your curves. You gave him a firm handshake and asked if he needed anything from you, and, when he denied, that was it. You went to your desk; didn't ask him questions, didn't tell him your whole life, didn't thank him for an opportunity he didn't give you, just went to do your work.
For a while, Javier was glad that you didn't give him any trouble, but that was until you quickly learned his habits. As soon as he arrived the office, you would receive him with a polite smile, a cup of black coffee and his schedule for the day. When he dove into files and forgot he was a person, you would bring him his lunch and wouldn't leave until he had at least a bite - as if he was a kid, what an absurd -, you would sense when he was stressed and would excuse yourself into his office with coffee and a pack of cigarettes and leave without saying a word.
He hated how much he appreciated that - even worse, how he liked that. It didn't take long for him to want to fuck you, to become obssessed with you. And it wasn't just him, he could see every other men in the department - single or not - turn their neck as they watched you pass by. But it was not just that you were hot, you were nice too; he would watch you from his office - not in a creepy way, though, he just didn't have anything much better to do - and you would distribute smiles and polite greetings to every soul that passed your desk, people would constantly stop by to small talk with you and you would let them be for five minutes or so before politely dismiss them to go back to work. Every fucking body there adored you.
Things had always been very professional between you both. Javi held back his flirty instinct and you- well, you didn't even seem interested in him at all. That was untill a very stressfull friday with Stechner giving him shit again. He left the building straigh to the bar, ready to drown himself on whiskey and find a quick fuck for the night, not expecting at all to find you aparently doing the same. Javier considered just ignoring you and go sitting with one of the women that turned their heads in his direction as soon as he entered, but something inside of him made him take the few steps to the bar and get the stool beside where you sat.
You almost spilled your drink when he approached.
"Sorry" you coughed "Wasn't expecting to see you here"
Your body language told him that you weren't comfortable with him there, he saw your backs getting as straight as when you were at work, and immediately regretted joining you.
"Well, that makes it two of us" he raised his hand to order his drink "What's the occasion?" he points to your drink with his chin.
Your grip on your glass seemed to tighten and you took one very long sip before answering dryly "I could ask you the same"
"Work" he raised his brows "It's always work"
"Did something happen after I left?" you pinched your brows.
"No, no, just people giving me shit"
"Oh, I see..." you sighed and silence fell between you.
"So..."
"Well..." you both started talking together and laughed akwardly.
"You go" you said.
"Am I bothering you? Cause I didn't mean to, I can sit somewhere else" he didn't even know why he was asking, he should've just said goodbye and left. He was already standing when your hand found his arm.
You sighed heavily "No, not at all, I'm sorry I gave that impression, sir" you seemed genuine, that's why he sat back "I'm just stressed"
Sir. Why were you calling him sir in a bar?
"Do you want to talk about it? If there's something bothering you we can discuss it and sol-"
"It's not work related" you were quick to interrupt "Work is, honestly, the simplest part of my life right now"
"Things must be pretty bad then, 'cause I see the amount of papers on your desk everyday" that made you chucke "The offer still stands, if you want to"
You took a big breath before dropping the bomb "Broke up with my boyfriend"
Now that was a new territory. He knew absolutly nothing about your life besides you moving to Colombia from the United States; he didn't know anything from your life back there, not your family, friends, definitely not about your boyfriend; and now, somehow, knowing you didn't have one anymore made it even harder for him not to want you.
"What happened?"
"Well, actually, it seems like we had already broken up a while ago and he just forgot to send the memo" you drank your whole half glass all at once ", since he was fucking every pussy that crossed his fucking way"
He was stunned. One thing about Javier was that he was never to deny any woman; honestly, he found every body attractive and apreciatted every woman that gave herself to him. He couldn't say he had a type, but you, with what he saw with your clothes on? He would fuck you every minute of everyday he could. It was absurd to believe someone would give up on you.
"Damn!" he couldn't help but say loudly, making your eyes go wide as if just then realising what you had just said.
"Shit, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be telling you this. I apologise, sir"
"You don't- don't apologise" he almost raised his hand to touch you, but stopped himself before "How did you find out?" you looked at him with raised brows "If you don't mind me asking"
"One of my friends called me last night and told me. She saw him at a bar with two women" you laughed, but there was no humor to be found.
"And you were still smiling at everyone at work today" he was impressed.
You smirked at him "Don't let my personal life mix with work, sir"
"Smart woman" he nods "We for sure have a reason to drink, then" waving his hand to the barman "Let me buy you one"
You don't even bother to refuse.
After three more glasses of what he found out was tequila, your shoulders were much more relaxed and so was your tongue. He found out that you and your ex had been dating for six years when you got the opportunity of job and had to move; two months had passed already.
"And you know what the worst part is?" your laugh is dry "I don't even feel bad because my heart is broken or any shit like that, it's just that is so fucking humiliating" you groaned with your hands on your face "I'm from a small town, you know, by now every soul there knows what he's been doing"
He had to laugh "That's what you're worried about?" you looked at him with false ofense.
"It's my honor we're talking about here!" he laughed even more "It's silly, I know..." you sigh shakly as you take another sip of your drink "But it is humbiling, being cheated on"
"I can't fucking believe anyone could ever cheat on you" he thought. At least he thought he did, but by the way you were looking at him - pinched brows and a curious look in your face, he had to have said it out loud "I mean, only shitty people cheat on nice people. Only shitty people cheat, that's it."
You nodded after a few seconds of silence "You're right, sir"
"You should stop calling me sir"
"I don't think so"
"Why not? We're already half drunk together at a shitty bar"
"Because you're still my boss"
Without any response to that, he looks at you. Really looks at you. Your eyes glassy from the alcohol, red puffy lips looking more appealing than ever... It would have been so easy to just lean in and kiss you. When his eyes came back to yours, it almost seemed like they were on his lips too, that you were leaning in too, that you desired him as much as he desired you and... Then it was not there anymore. Suddenly, you seemed farther than ever, backs as streight as always and eyes avoiding his.
"I should go home"
He agreed. He put you on a cab. He wished you a goodnight.
Then went back to the bar to find someone to not spend the night alone.
The next Monday, though, you seemed even more professional than ever. Wouldn't be around him more than the necessary, wouldn't look him in the eyes and it fucking bothered him.
"Yes, sir?" you entered his office after he called your name.
He sighs as he looked you up and down, his eyes lingering to your skirt pressing against your tights "How are you?"
"I'm fine" you hesitated "Why do you ask? Is something wrong?"
"Lying to me, 's all" your eyes went wide "Listen, last night-"
Your nostrils flared, your hands clenching into fists; you took a deep breath before interrupting him "I am fine"
"Ok, then" he raised his hands in defensiveness "It's just that last night-"
"Last night I was drunk!" you passed your hands through your face "I said things I shouldn't have and I am embarressed and would very much appreciate if we pretended that it never happened"
Javier was silent for a moment. He understandood your apprehension, but damn if he wasn't dismayed by it.
"Alright, 'm sorry I brought it up. But just to let you know, you don't have anything to be embarressed for, you have my word that I wouldn't hold any if that against you and..." and it was nice to talk to you "Yeah, don't worry about that"
You looked at him for a few seconds before nodding "You need anything else, sir?"
Many things, yeah. For starters, you calling him by his name; second, being able to have a casual conversation with you when alcohol isn't envolved and third, your fucking clothes off because he got embarrassingly hard just by looking at you. But instead, he only denied and you left before any other word could leave his mouth.
Javi knew it was for the best. Fucking you would be no good - well, he'd bet it would be hot as shit, but too much trouble for a one night stand. He had a whole city to fool around with, to be focused in someone from his work place, his own secretary, was nonsense. You never even gave him any hint you wanted him, if anything, the actual opposite; you told him yourself last night, personal life away from work.
Javi made sure to remember all that.
He didn't keep those thoughts for long, though.
A few days later, you met at a bar once again. A better one this time and with half of the office joined. It was Feistl's birthday and he invited the whole department for drinks. Nobody could hide their surprise when Javi aproached them; usually, he wouldn't attend this type of gathering, in his rarely free times, he better prefered the company of a good whiskey and a woman, and his colleagues knew that. His employee had invited him just to be polite and that was clear, but he knew you were going to be there, Javi just wanted one more opportunity to prove to himself that you didn't feel the same way he did, that he didn't have the same effect on you that you had on him. Once that prooved, he could move on. So he was there on a mission, trying to be the most discrete he could as he watched you from afar.
The two of you seemed to be the reflexion of each other from across the table, tense bodies and drinks in hand, the only difference being you talking with your colleagues and him not making the effort. To his defense, people weren't trying to talk to him either. Honestly, Javier kind of felt like it wasn't just that they were surprised to see him there, it felt like they didn't want him there at all by some looks he was receiving.
He was okay with that, he guessed, he would much rather analyse your behavior outside work. You didn't seem to change much, honestly; maybe your smile were a little bit more genuine, but the conversations were pretty much the same he heard you have back in the office and it could have been the larger amount of alcohol in your system that night, yeah, but you seemed more relaxed alone with him.
After half an hour there, Javi couldn't bring himself to talk to you, you seemed too interested in a conversation about the new coffee pot in the scullery with another secretary. He was getting frustrated, in another times he would interrupt the other woman and flirt with you effortlessly; it probably had to do with the environment, you were surronded by co-workers, or maybe he was losing his touch - it was almost like he was too afraid to make the move.
Javi decided to leave soon after one hour there. He congratulated Feistl for his birthday, said goodbye to whoever recognized his leaving, paid his bill and passed through the door.
"Hey" he turned around at the sound of your voice, seeing you walking towards him "Are you ok?"
He ran his hand over his chin "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know" you shrugged "you kind of ran out of the bar"
"'S fine, you should go back inside" Javi pointed at the entrace with his chin.
You tilt your head to the side "I don't really believe you"
"I'm not asking you to" he crossed his arms "And, what, you wanna talk now? You've been quiet at work all week"
"We're not at work, though, are we?" you were quick to answer.
Javi looked you up and down "No, we're not"
"You know" you took a few steps forward ", it's not like they don't like you, they are just kind of scared of you"
Were you watching him too? Why would you say that? How would you notice?
He furrowed his eyebrows "Scared of me? Why?"
You looked at him with yours raised "You know how you act at work, don't you?"
Javi sighed and looked away. He did act like an asshole at work, it didn't seem to bother you, though. Your gazes met again as silence fell between the two of you and he decided to take the few steps left to get you as close as you never got before.
"Are you scared of me?"
You kept your eyes locked as you answered "No. You're not as bad as you think you are" you licked your lips "At least not with me"
The air thickend between the two of you, the only sound being the noises of a night in Colombia. There was no way you were not feeling that too, the way your bodies seemed to linger to each other's direction. He's sure he's not imagining the way your breath heaved, how your chest expansed, the brightness in your eyes.
No, that was real, he was not mistaking it.
A voice broke the tension, you taking a few steps back to a safe distant from him. You both looked in the direction of the sound: a woman was calling you, the same woman you talked all night, at the entrance of the bar, a few feet away from where the both of you stood.
"Maybe if you went back there and paid the next round..." he swore he saw expectancy in your eyes.
"Maybe another time" you nodded; you both knew it wouldn't happen.
You looked at him one last time before walking away "Good night, sir"
Javi nodded even though you weren't looking anymore and his eyes followed the sweet swing of your hips as you made your way back to the bar. He could hear the woman asking what it was about:
"Nothing" you answered.
He would disagree.
Javier was in a terrible, terrible mood. Things weren't going how he thought they would go, not even close to it. Feistl got a good lead about the Rodriguez brothers, one worth following, and he could do nothing about it; had to look to his subordinate and say no to his face. In the beggining, Javi had plans on reediming himself by catching Los Pepes, making amends with the city and it's people by arresting those who he felt like helped to ascend. He felt like a failure, and by the look on Feistl face, he thought so too. To worsen everything, as if it could get any, he had a huge, massive amount of piles to go through.
He lifted his eyes from the paper for the first time in hours when you knocked at the door. He knew your shift had ended a couple of hours ago, but you decided to finish the paperwork of the day so it wouldn't affect his own work the next morning, even though you couldn't have finished it on time because of the extra work put over you. It was something he frequently saw you doing, leaving much later than the others.
"I am leaving, sir. Is there something I could do for you?"
He scratched his chin and sighed heavily "Well, if you could make this fucking paperwork disappear I would built a statue of you"
You exiled a short laugh "I'm afraid that's not possible, sir"
"No, it's not" he reclined on his chair and looked at your body on the frame for a few seconds "Have a goodnight"
You nodded and left. He stood up to get a drink right after, hearing some noises outside that must have been you grabing your stuff. You were probably the last person on the floor besides him, and soon enough he would be alone, like he had been for so many nights, working until late, only able to go home to shower and come back. It wasn't much trouble, though, it's not like he could sleep even if he had the time.
A soft knock on the door surprised him, glass and bottle on each hand.
"Sorry to bother again" you said with only your head in the room after he told you to come in "But do you want help?"
He looked at you, at the pile and then at you again "You wanna help me with that?" you nodded "Why?"
"Nothing better to do" you shruged.
He should've said no. Should've told you to go home and have some rest.
He should have, yes.
"Have a sit" he pointed to the couch with the piles of papers he's been on for the last three hours.
You closed the door behind you and something on his skin tingled. You had never been this alone.
"Want a drink?" you didn't hesitate in accepting, as if waiting for him to offer.
Javier poured you one too and handed you the glass, something you thanked him for as you took a sip and he sitted beside you. You two stayed in silence reading, the only sound being the papers as you tossed them around.
"Can I give you an unasked opinion, sir?"
He almost laughed at that "Go ahead"
"You're separating these by topics, I see" he nodded "Taking one paper at the time and seeing what they are and then doing them separetly " he nodded again "I think it would be quicker if we made piles by the specific topics you have"
"You mean..."
"I mean" suddenly you stood up from the couch and knelt on the floor. Fortunally you didn't see his eyes going wide as you took a pile in your hands and put it beside you "You have a huge office, you should put the files on display and organize them better" you looked at him while taking the other piles "You helping?"
He smirked and hushed to help you. He liked this side of you; more relaxed, kind of bossy, tongue more loose... It was a shame you only showed him when there was alcohol running through your system.
"This, if you don't mind me saying, is how I organize the piles on your desk when I bring them to you, but you seem to prefer the hardest way"
Fuck, he was getting hard.
It was nuts. Absolutly nuts. What the fuck was happening, what effect was that you had on him? You did nothing but say a few dirty words without intention. Completely. Nuts.
"I do prefer the hard way" came out of his mouth before he could control it. If you didn't notice the double meaning or chose to ignore it, he didn't know "But I never noticed, no" he sighed "Honestly, I don't even know how it got to this point"
The paperwork, somehow, did accumulate, even though all he did of his life was working.
"I understand, I can see how you get lost in work" your focus was on the papers and you didn't seem to notice how he shifted on his place on the floor, trying to hide the beggining of an erection.
With your efficiency and new way of working, one hour and a half later and almost the whole paperwork gone, you're on your third glass and him on his fourth. He's used to drinking whiskey, but it was still alcohol, and it was making his skin buzz. You had already took off your blazer - his own gone hours ago - , wearing a thin blouse with a very modest neckline; your legs were crossed, making your skirt move up a little, and he was going crazy with just the tiny amount of skin you were showing.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead" you didn't even move your eyes from the paper.
"Why didn't you go home?"
You don't talk for a few seconds and he took the opportunity to stare "There's nothing waiting for me at home"
That got him thinking about your moving there. To go from a small town in the countryside to a city like Bogotá, not knowing a soul; you had acquaintances, yes, but he saw you that day at the bar, they surely were people you liked to be with, but were not friends of yours. Javi had been there, too, actually, if he would be honest with himself, he was still in the same situation. When he moved to Medellín, he had those people he could go out with and grab a drink after work, but that was all; at least until Steve came into the picture, the person he never thought he would befriend with, the only real friend he'd had in years.
"Yeah, I kind of get that" your eyes meet "Work until late for a reason"
"I guess we both need to get a life, then" you smirked.
"Cheers to that" he raised his glass to you, you did the same until it clicked with his "So, life... How is yours going?" he tried to act nonchalant by moving his eyes on the paper in his hand "With that ex-boyfriend thing and all"
Your laugh was low "Don't do that"
"Do what?" he raised his eyes again to find yours still on him.
You tilted your head to the side "Don't go down that road when we're like this"
"Like what?" he caught the exact moment your eyes fell to his lips, so he casually wet them with his tongue. If he wasn't so absorbed by the thickness in the air, he would have laughed at the way your eyes shut and your head fell back to rest on the couch.
"Drunk and... Not thinking straight"
Javi raised his eyebrows "I like the winding thoughts I'm having, though"
"Yeah" the look you gave him made him shiver.
Without breaking eye contact, Javi belted down his drink to gain courage and slowly moved his body until you were pressed side by side, giving you time to get your space again if you wanted to.
"This fine?" his voice was barely louder than a whisper.
You nodded.
"What if I wanted to kiss you right now?" he rested one forearm on the couch to lean his face closer to yours.
You gulped as you stared into his eyes "Then I think you should do it before we-"
He didn't give you the time to finish your sentence before his lips were on yours. Your lips were soft, he could taste the whiskey on your tongue as well with the gums you would chew all day. His right hand went straight to your jawline to lead the kiss. It was not a lulled kiss, neither a gentle one, Javier was ruthless, taking out on your lips all the built up tension from the last few months. He couldn't believe it was finally happening. You were quick to follow his pace, your fingers grasping his shirt and pulling him even closer. The first moan you let out get Javi even more eagered, his hand passing down your body to grab your ass. You took advantage of his action and, before he knew, you were climbing up his lap, knees on each side of his torso, and once you were fully sitted on his lap, you both couldn't contain a moan. At that point, your skirt barely covered half your ass; because of that, he figured that you wouldn't mind his hands slowly rubbing up your tights until they reached the fabric and rolled it up your waist.
Javi parted your mouths to take a good look at you on his lap, his eyes wandered from your heavy eyelids, your lips puffy and red from the kisses, your blouse-covered chest raising and falling as fast as his until they got to the black thong you were wearing and he couldn't help but moan "Oh, fuck me"
"You like them?" your mouth came down his neck to give him wet kisses.
"How wouldn't I?" he held you by the nape of the neck and brought your mouths together again "I've wanted this for so long"
You released some kind of laughter "I know"
"Oh, do you?" he raised his brows.
"You're not exactly subtle for an agent" you murmured between kisses.
He snorts "Well, thanks for the insight"
Javi couldn't resist the urge to touch you through the tiny piece of fabric and you moaned at the pressure at your clitoris, but he moaned too at the wetness he found.
Javi didn't ask you how long you had wanted him, you were grinding on his lap at that moment and that was all that mattered. But he wished you had said it, that you had desired him as much as he had desired you, that all this time he had been imagining this moment, you were imagining it too.
"Fuck baby, you are so wet already" his tongue licked a stripe on your neck "All this for me?"
You answer was muffled by a moan; it seemed positive, but before he could confirm you were linking your mouths again in a searing kiss.
You started moving your hips on his erection and you both moaned at the pressure. Suddenly, his torso is being pushed down to the ground, chests pressed against each other, your fingers tangled his hair and pushed and he fucking whimpered.
Jesus Christ, he was in heaven and was not even inside of you yet.
You grinded furiously against him and he found it absolutly beautiful how you were using him to pleasure yourself and was not embarressed to do so. So. Fucking. Hot.
He felt like he was coming in any second.
"Fuck, you keep doing that and will have me cumming on my fucking pants, bebita"
"Oh, say it again!"
"What? That I'm within seconds to cumming?"
You moaned loudly at that "No- I mean, that too, that's hot, but- oh fuck"
"Bebita?" he felt you shiver at the pet name and chuckled "You like that, huh?"
You grabbed the nape of his neck and lowered your head to crush your lips to his again, tongues fighting heatedly. Javi started to feel that heat boiling at the bottom of his stomach, his hips grinded against yours and the pressure were just perfect; by the sounds you were making, you were as close as he was. Javi reached for you ass and grabbed it with both of his hands and squeezed, adding even more pressure to the grindness. At last, he sucked the pulse in your neck and you started to shake above him; that combined with the sweet noises that came out of you, he was gone.
You collapse on top of him, fingers unconsciously running through his hair; his members were sore and he was so tired and satisfied that he could sleep right there. The both fo you took deep breaths while your head rested on the gap of his neck and his on the floor.
"I can't remember the last time I did this" he was the first to break the silence.
"I actually do this everyday to my pillow" you mumbered humurously and he moaned.
"Shit, you're gonna be the death of me" his hand ran up and down from your ass to your backs, loving the feeling of your curves.
You raised your head to find his eyes and the moment was gone. You both realizing what you just had done, the before contentedness in him that was mirrowed in your eyes then turning into panic.
"Shit" you clumsly stood up. You put your skirt down as quickly as you could.
"It's getting late" it was already late when you came to his office "I should go" you should stay, he wanted to say.
But instead he only nodded. He knew it was for the best. He shouldn't have let it come this far.
You quickly get your stuff and wishes him a goodnight. His eyes don't leave you until you pass through the door, yours, though, don't meet him once.
He stayed there on the floor, cum staining his pants, and even though he was fully clothed, the room had never felt colder.
The next day was pure craziness. After you left his office, Javi went home, took a shower and lied in bed thinking of what had just happened between the two of you and what would happen from then on until he had to come back to work. Before he could even get to his office, you intercepted him with a cup of coffee and the news of a surprise and excruciating slow meeting with the ambassador, which led to another one with the CIA and then the atrocious combination of them both together. By the time Javi was freed from hell, everybody else were already leaving; due to your situation, he thaught that would be your case too, so he was surprised to see you still on your desk.
"I was waiting to see if you would need something else from me before I left" was your answer to the question on his face.
"I think I'm heading home too, actually" after a day like that, he felt like maybe he could even get some sleep.
He had work to do, yeah, and usually it didn't matter to him if his mind wasnt in the right place - it rarely was anyways -, but he knew nothing productive would result from working in that state. Javi also wanted to talk to you; he had so many thing in his mind, what he thought about during that whole previous night: he wanted you. So bad he didn't even know how to express it, so much he let himself cum in his pants just to get the little you were wailing to give to him. And he was concerned about what your reaction to that would be, because it was obvious that you wanted him too, but your actions showed him that you didn't want to want him. All those thoughts were consuming him, but it would have to wait for another day, he didn't think that was the right time, not at work. Maybe he could invite you for drinks and talk things through or-
"I was wondering if we could talk, too" you interrupt his thoughts "About yesterday"
If Javi wasn't a trained professional, he probably would've had his mouth opened in absolut shock. It was like you read his mind.
"Of course" you both looked around the department, the couple people remaining already preparing to leave. Still, he opened his office door and nodded for you to come in.
You were flustered, nervous even. Javi didn't know what to expect from that talk, he wished you would cave in to your needs and fuck him already, but he felt like you wouldn't be easy on him. Honestly, he couldn't read you.
The both of you stood akwardly in the middle of the room, door closed behind you. He waited patiantly for you to start talking, for you to take the lead of the conversation.
"So" you sighed "I wanted to apologise"
His face contorted in a deep frown "What for? You have nothing to apologise"
"I do, yes" you shook your head "It was completely irresponsible and unprofessional and we shouldn't have done that"
If you said you were embarressed last time, about the things you had said on the bar, Javi didn't know what you could possibly be feeling at that moment: your face was getting red, your eyes wouldn't meet his, your hands squeezed each other in your front; he kind of felt bad he was the cause of your discomfort.
"You didn't do anything by yourself"
"I jumped on you like a crazy-ass-horny woman!" over your shoulder, you look outside to see if there was anyone to witness your voice raising; there wasn't.
Javi could barely contain the smirk forcing itself upon his mouth at the memory of you riding him in that very same floor, just a few steps from where you stood. He really couldn't contain the beggining of an erection, though.
"And I loved that" you looked at him as if he was crazy for saying it "I did!" he took a few steps in your direction "And honestly, if anyone should be blamed it's me, I'm the boss, aren't I? The authority in the room or some shit like that"
The way you look at him said that you agreed, that he should be blamed too, should've had more self control, but you didn't say it and that made him smile, the way you still tried to keep your composure at work.
You sighed "Still, it wasn't right and I'm sorry"
"I'm not" he took another step towards you.
"It's not the point, sir"
"I don't think you are that sorry either" your brows raised in surprise "And fucking quit calling me 'sir' now, there's just us in here" another step.
"I'm just-" you shrugged "I'm trying to be professional, that's all"
"Baby we're a little too late for that now"
"Jesus Christ" you pinched the bridge of your nose, he could feel the frustration exhaling from you "You don't like to make things easy, do you?"
"What's the fun in that?" the joke landed flat "I have a proposal"
That got your attention "I don't think I like where this is going"
"Well, that's the thing" he took one more step "I think you do. You fucking grinded on me on this floor until we both came. You want me. What are you so afraid of?"
"You're my fucking boss!" your exasperation made him want to laugh and scream out of frustration at the same time "I like this job, I want to keep it"
"I would never put your job in risk"
"You can't be sure" it was true, Javi barely had a say in anything, but he would do anything in his power for you not to lose your job, especially because of him "And even if this" you pointed between the two of you "didn't make me lose it, it would be living hell if people found out"
"I can be discreet"
You crossed your arms "You're not taking me seriously"
"I am, I promise that I am" he really was "I just- You gave me a taste of what it would look like and now I'm starving for more" he scratched his chin, a little embarressed he let that slip out "I would do anything to have you for one night, we don't have to take work to the bedroom"
"Oh" you snorted "there's a bedroom in the scene now?"
"What?" he raised his brows "You thought I was fucking you in my office?" you went silent "You fucking did"
Javi is no romantic man, he thought about fucking you in every place possible, in the bathroom there, against the nearest wall, but when truly thinking about taking you, it would always be in a bedroom, somewhere you both would be able to take your time.
"Do you fantasize about it?" a step closer "Do you touch yourself thinking about me?" your eyes wouldn't meet his, so he carefully took your chin and angled your head until they did "Where?"
You gulped "Where what?"
"Where did you imagine?" his voice was barely above a whisper.
"Your desk"
"Fucking dirty woman" he smirked "I'm gonna fuck you on my desk, bebita" he took you by the waist, colliding your body to his "And on my couch" his nose traveled from your cheek to your neck "On the fucking window so eveyone can see how pretty you will look with my cock deep inside of you"
"Shit" your voice broke, breathless.
"Do you want it? Huh? To be full of my cock?" you nodded "I want words"
"Yes" you puffed.
"Yes what?"
You looked at him with a defiant look "Yes, sir"
He had to laugh "You are the worst"
His lips collided with yours with so much fierceness he was surprised they didn't start bleeding. His hands were all over your body, your breasts, your back, your ass. You pulled his hair with both hands and he moaned. Javi wanted you so bad it hurt. He decided to be bold and lifted you skirt to your waist, then placed you sitted on the edge of his desk, each of your legs on each side of his hips, pushing everything that was on your way to the floor, paying no attention to anything that wasn't you.
"I hate how you kiss me" you mumbled frustrated between kisses and he pinched his brows.
"You have a very distinct way to hate things"
"You just do it so well" your hands covered his cheeks "Makes me want to do this everyday"
Javi couldn't help but to smirk "I don't see why we can't"
"Yes, you do"
"All I see is a gorgeous woman with tasteful lips" he reached your covered mound and passed a finger through your folds, making you moan loudly ", wet lips" he smirked "telling me she wants to kiss me foverer"
You snorted "I didn't say that"
"That's what I heard"
"You are so cocky" you rolled your eyes.
"Damn right I am" Javi pressed his erection to your thigh.
"Yeah, I felt it yesterday" your hands went to unbuckle his belt, quickly reaching for his cock through his underwear and pumping him a couple of times "You're big, sir"
Javi moaned and threw his head back, enjoying the feeling, barely believing it was finally happening. You put down every piece of cloth in your way to his thighs, put your own panties to the side and started to guide him to your entrance.
"You think is gonna be that easy?" he murmured in your ear, dodging his dick to press on your clit instead, making you moan at the contact, but also groan out of frustration.
"After all this time, it should be"
"You know what I want to hear, baby" he peppered kisses on your neck while still grinding his dick from your clit to your entrance, you were so wet he knew you would have no difficulty to take him.
"Put this thing inside of me, already" you tried to move your hips to get more friction, frustration consuming you.
Even though Javi had a purpose of you to stop calling him 'sir', he could barely hold himself from sliping inside of you, so that's what he did. Your moan as he slowly made space for him inside of you will forever be in his mind. Javi cursed under his breath as your walls squeezed him and he had to take a moment to absorb the feeling. So warm, so wet, so tight, he was in heaven. But you were impatiant.
"Please, move"
"Say my name and I will"
"Why are you so attached to this?" you pinched your brows.
He did the same "Why are you so against saying it?"
You licked a stripe on his neck "To piss you off"
"That's okay" he smirked "You don't have to say it, I'm gonna make you scream it" he held your legs and roughly pushed inside expecting to hit your special place; by the way you gasped and grabbed him, he got it just right "Found it"
Javi ran his nose through your neck and your skin bristled "You're so sensitive here, aren't you, bebita?"
"I'm starting to think that you make me sensitive everywhere"
He laughed and stopped his movements again "Now that's a confession"
"What can I say?" you huffed "It seems like you make my mind go blank when you have your huge dick inside of me and won't. fucking. move"
He laughed and started to slowly take it out just to push it in again at the same speed.
"You're gonna fucking kill me" you whined "Please, faster"
"Are you needy, baby?" he licked your neck "I can feel you squeeze me. You're desperate for my cock, huh?"
"Yes"
"Yes, what?
"Yes, sir"
He increased the speed and you moaned louder "Unbelievable" his hips were reletless and he felt you getting tighter and tighter "You're almost there, aren't you, baby?" you couldn't speak, mouth half opened and nails digging into the skin of his arm "You like it rough, don't you?"
Then he stopped.
"What the fuck?" your voice is hoarsed.
"I'm fucking you slow, baby, is that a crime?" his smile was smudge
"You're evil" you whined, hips moving to find relief.
"I am evil? Who are you to talk about evil? You're fucking teasing me here, bebita. That's so wrong" he started to move slowly again "Just say my name and I'll let you cum"
You nodded your head no.
"Say it"
"No"
"Fucking say. It." he changed the angle to repeatedly hit that spot inside of you and pulled your hair until your back arched.
"Oh my God, Javi!" you screamed as you came hard on his dick, eyes closed tight, mouth opened and body tremblimg.
His name coming out of your mouth was like music to Javi's ears, and hearing it for the first time fomented something insane inside of him. He licked his thumb and pressed it hard against your clit, your eyes widened in surprise and he got a strangled sound out of your mouth as you came again, your body violently shaking under his hands.
"Oh shit, that's it, baby. You're fucking milking me. Shit, shit, shit."
His name was now floating through your lips like a hymn, and he loved to hear it.
"I'm gonna cum"
His words seemed to wake you from your trance "On my mouth"
"Shit" he steped away and out of you and one second later you were on the floor, knelt before him. You grabbed his dick with one hand, put the tip in your mouth and that's all it took for him to cum the hardest he had in his life. You sucked it, greedy until he had nothing more to give you "Let me see it, baby" he asked with a hoarsed voice, asking you to open your mouth, showing that you had swalloed it all "Fucking dirty woman"
You smirked and rested your forehead on his thigh, exausted.
"Come 'ere" he took your hand on his and got you to your feet, holding you against him by your waist "Can you walk?"
"I think I can learn how to do it again, yeah" he chuckled.
Javi lowered your skirt before sitting you on his desk again "How are you getting home?" he asked quietly as he slowly buttoned up your blouse, trying not to startle you and have you running away again.
"I'm taking a cab" you more gently than not stopped his fingers to continue the work yourself.
"Let me take you home" he fished your panties from the floor and put it in his pocked as he wore his pants again
"You don't have to"
"I know I don't. But I'm kind of worried if you will be capable to support yourself for enough time to call a cab after I fucked you this good"
You released the louder chuckle he had ever heard you give as you stood up "You're the absolute worst, Javier."
He started to get hard to the sound of his name on your lips.
"See? Perfectly stable" one of your eyebrows was raised and all he wanted to do was to kiss your attitude away.
"I guess I'll have to fuck you harder next time, then"
"I guess"
You both went quiet as you made your way out of the building and to his car, you only speaking to give him instructions to get to your place.
"There will be a next time, right?" he spoke as you left the car.
How silly of him to think that fucking you once would be enough, would make all the consuming desire go away, if something, it only made him want you more.
You took your time to look at him, as if staring directly to his soul and gave him a small smile.
"Good night, Javi"

Eddie Munson's second chance
Written for the @steddieholidaydrabbles, day 14
Prompt: Angst with a happy ending
Rated: G
CW: referenced child neglect/abuse
Tags: Modern AU, Royalty AU, Royal Steve Harrington, Rockstar Eddie Munson
Notes: Continued from day 11. This was angstier in my head, but Eddie is a silly goose.
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson is no stranger to fucking up. He's long accepted that. It's just a thing that happens.
Sometimes, you'll miscalculate a stage dive and have to cancel the rest of the tour.
Sometimes, you'll get so caught up in your stupid rockstar stuff, you'll forget about the youth center you founded to give other kids a better childhood.
Sometimes, you'll meet an adorable guy named Dustin at said youth center, and rant about how useless the monarchy is, only to find out that Dustin isn't Dustin at all, but Crown Prince Steven Harrington, aka the future king, aka owner of the saddest pair of puppy dog eyes that Eddie has ever failed to get out of his goddamn head.
Which brings him to his current predicament, sitting on the edge of his bed, waiting for Chrissy to pick up the phone. She does after the second dial tone, which is pretty impressive for three in the morning.
"We must cancel the royal visit," Eddie blurts before she can ask what's wrong.
"Eds," she yawns. "We've been over this. Just because you can't stand the guy-"
"That's not it," Eddie groans. "Listen … I met him yesterday? Only I didn't know it was him? And I flirted with him and he was really cute but I couldn't keep my fucking mouth shut and now I can't ever see him again because I don't wanna rot in some dungeon, understand?"
"No," she says. Damn, it sounded perfectly logical in his head. "But this doesn't seem like something we should discuss on the phone. Stay put, I'm coming over."
*
They don't cancel the royal visit, but Eddie refuses to make an appearance. Instead, he watches from behind the curtains of the office window like a creep. The Prince looks dashing in his tailored suit, smiling for the cameras, joking with the kids, listening to Chrissy with polite attention as she shows him around the place. Eddie loves her so fucking much, will be forever grateful that she filled in for him.
Even if she tied it to one condition.
He watches how she whispers something into the Prince's ear, how his smile melts into an angry frown. How they both turn to stare at the window. Eddie flinches away from the curtains, heart in his throat.
He wonders if the dungeons have WiFi.
*
"You have exactly ten minutes," says the bodyguard. It’s the same one from yesterday, the one called Hop. Eddie doesn’t reply, just nods stiffly. Hop looks at him like he's contemplating murder, but then he ducks out of the room with a muttered all clear.
Prince Steven steps in. The door clicks shut. Silence descends.
"Well," Eddie finally mumbles. "I guess this is the part where I bow and grovel."
The Prince snorts. "Please don't, Mr Munson. I'd rather you save us both the embarrassment."
Eddie winces, because ouch. That stings more than it should.
Neither of them says anything for a long while. The clock on the wall keeps ticking.
"So," Eddie rocks awkwardly on the soles of his combat boots. "Who's Dustin?"
Those plush lips twitch into a smile and those pretty eyes light up. For a moment, Eddie glimpses the boy from yesterday.
"My housekeeper's kid. He'd be so mad if he knew I met you and didn't get him an autograph."
He says it with genuine concern, like he's honestly afraid of getting shit from a little kid, and Eddie can't help but grin.
"Don't worry, I won't tell."
This gets him a huffed laugh.
"He'd love this place, it's really cool."
When Eddie looks up, the Prince is looking at the picture frames on the walls, photos of smiling kids and drawings in crayon and watercolors. Eddie sighs and joins him, stares long and hard of a picture of Max on her skateboard.
"Thanks. I, um … grew up around here, and I wanted to give these kids a safe space. Where they can just … be children. I never really had that myself."
A thoughtful hum. Those hazel eyes are soft with an expression that looks weirdly like longing. Eddie remembers watching stories about the royal family on his uncle's rickety TV set. A solemn-faced boy his own age trailing behind his parents outside of private jets, in lush parks and gilded halls. Always in expensive suits. Always well-behaved. Always way too grown-up.
Well, shit.
"Listen, your highness …"
"Steve is fine."
"Listen, Steve …" Eddie lets the name linger on his tongue, finds that he likes the feel of it. "I guess I've been a bit of a dick."
A hint of that bitchy little smile. "You guess correctly."
"Whatever," Eddie huffs. "I'm trying to apologize here, so may I? Or are you throwing me in the dungeons?"
"The …" Steve blinks. Then, his mouth starts to curl. "We, um … don't actually do that anymore. Unless you're into that, then I'm sure it could be arranged."
Eddie sputters and Steve bites back a laugh.
"If you really wanna make up for it," he then says. "I hear your concert next week is all sold out? Dustin would love backstage tickets."
Eddie frowns.
"Dustin as in the kid or …"
"Steve?" Hop cracks the door open. "Time to go, c'mon."
Steve smiles, bright and sunshiny. "On my way."
He turns to Eddie, grabs a pen and a notepad from the chaos on the desk.
"Backstage tickets, two of them. I'll be expecting them by tomorrow."
*
When Chrissy bustles in not five minutes later, she finds Eddie in the office chair, staring morosely at the still drawn curtains.
"Eds? Everything okay?" Eddie just groans and hides his head in his hands, so she crouches down in front of him, hands on his knees. "He didn't give you shit, did he?"
"Shit? I wish. No, it's far worse than that." Eddie cackles hysterically and unclenches his fist, presenting a crumpled piece of notebook paper. "He gave me his number."

Ghost Soldier!Male Reader + Task Force 141
WARNING: INCREDIBLY CRINGE WRITING
While Captain Y/n is on a mission with his team, they are interrupted...
What matters most though is if they are friend or foe...
Honestly, trying to put a whole scenario like this together was fun and challenging at the same time but worth it @gamersansblog !!!
So I hope you enjoy!

"Midnight, Hawk, do either of you have eyes on the target yet?" Y/n asked as he let his eyes sweep over the contents in the room. Falcon followed behind him, silently with his gun raised, clearing the room himself before rejoining Y/n's side.
"No sir, not yet," Midnight's heavy feminine voice replied through the radio.
"Just a whole bunch of shit in here, Captain, unless..." Hawk drawed out slowly.
Y/n knew that tone and quickly tried to intervene, "Hawk, I swear if do what I think..."
"Calm down, sir. Why don't we just turn this place inside out?"
"Hawk..." Falcon warned from beside Y/n as he watched his Captain let out a long sigh in front of him.
"Just a little demolition, sir. That's all... it's not like anyone knows we're here anyway. With the guards dead, I doubt we'll be interrupted, " Y/n could have swore he aged faster as he listened to Hawk's suggestion.
Honestly, Y/n was too tired for this shit. It felt like he was baby sitting 3 kids and he couldn't help but wonder if other groups dealt with the same thing.
There mission was simple, take out the guards, retrieve the files, and get out. Really simple shit. Y/n could do it in his sleep if he wanted too. But noooo, the Higher Ups just had to say his team needed to be with him for this operation.
Plus, Y/n doubted that Falcon could deal with all of them if Y/n left him alone with Midnight and Hawk. So he was forced to bring his crazy pyromaniac of a man, the little assassin that would kill just about anything even when Y/n told her not to, and his only good child.
God, being a father of a Ghost Team was hard.
But even so, Y/n wouldn't change it for the world. His team was just about the best thing that ever happened to him and his career. They were his second chance, his redemption. His everything...
"Alright, Hawk, set up those explosives and see if you can find anything. Midnight, watch his back. Falcon and I are gonna make our way over there..." Y/n commanded.
"Understood, sir," and in the background, he could hear Hawk's sinister little giggle and shook his head at his soldier's antics.
"You sure this is the best idea, sir?" Falcon looked worried about this and Y/n didn't blame him for it. They both knew Hawk could go too far when it came to blowing up things.
Last time they left him alone, half of a building managed to disappear.
Y/n shook his head at the thought, not wanting to even remember that mission again.
When he caught sight of Midnight, the woman was throwing her knives at some random crate she was using as target practice.
"Midnight, Y/n told you to stop doing that. You're gonna mess up your knives and then cry about needing to get new ones," Falcon stressed.
Midnight stuck her tongue out at the man and Y/n chuckled.
"Come on Captain tell her!" Falcon pleaded.
Y/n ignored it and looked towards Hawk.
"You ready Hawk?"
"Annnnnd FINISHED!" the man exclaimed happily as he put the last finishing touches on the bomb.
"Good... get ready to...the hell is that sound?" Y/n turned to see a drone watching them outside the window.
"Shit... someone else is here... we're leaving NOW!" Y/n yelled as he made his way to the windows with their repel gear.
"WHO THE HELL ARE THEY?!" Midnight bellowed next to him.
"Doesn't matter! Hawk on my signal you blow this place to hell!"
"What about the files?!" Hawk asked.
"The Captain and I got them on our way to you two! Now hurry your ass up and get ready to repel!" Falcon hollered at him, quickly putting his gear on.
Once they were ready, Y/n didn't take the chance of the enemy spotting them from the window. If anything, these guys were definitely professionals and had yet to show themselves but it didn't bother Y/n one bit. He knew his team was just as good.
So, he turned to the other window, pulling out his P226 and aiming it at the window.
"Hawk, you remember that scene from Fast and Furious where they jumped from building to building?" Y/n asked.
"Yeah, but we don't have a supercar, sir!"
"Well we can try!" Y/n began to run towards the window, shooting it multiple times until to burst into glass shards and they all jumped out.
"NOW HAWK!"
Y/n heard that lovely sound of the explosion going off behind him as they landed on the roof.
"Hell yeah!" Hawk whooped from beside him.
"We can celebrate later...we still need to find who else is here."
Y/n turned to Midnight first.
"I got an idea..."
"Sir?" She tilted her head in curiosity.
"You see anyone even hostile take them out. Hawk fill this place with traps, take Falcon with you."
Hawk nodded and tapped Falcon's arm before leading them away from Y/n and Midnight.
"Alright, let's go see who the hell were dealing with..."
Midnight sent Y/n a smirk as Y/n moved to take point and as they set out to find the intruders.
It didn't take long when they both heard a cry that only Hawk could make and quickly ran towards his yells. Y/n told Midnight to hide the in the grass, dropping into the dirt himself and aiming his rifle at the newfound men that had Hawk and Falcon in their custody.
He heard the gruff British man's voice question who Hawk was working with, who their team was, but Hawk wasn't one to talk.
Y/n made sure personally that they would never talk. He put then through the same exact situation he had been in now. Cornered by the enemy but except this time not alone.
"Midnight, stay down unless shots are fired. Got it?"
She nodded at him before popping up out of the grass.
"I wouldn't move it I were you..."
The men all turned back to him, guns drawn on him while he held his Honey Badger tightly to his chest.
"Who the hell are you?" The man in the skull mask questioned.
Y/n gave him a look before turning back to the man with the fisher hat on.
"You plan on fishing for my soldiers..." he drawed off.
"Captain Price." He answered.
"Ah...I've heard of you... You and your little Task Force. What was it...141, right?"
"Ye now who the hell are you?" He watched the man's grip tighten on his own gun.
"Captain Y/n and you're going to give me back Hawk and Falcon now." Y/n demanded.
"How do I-" he was cut off by another voice going through his radio.
"Yeah but-... Are you sure, Laswell?"
Y/n looked up when he heard Kate's last name leave the older Brits lips.
"You familiar with Laswell?" Y/n asked as he watched the men untie Hawk and Falcon.
"Seems so...and it seems she knows you as well..." Price commented as he watched Hawk and Falcon walk back to Y/n's side.
"Sir, are you sure Laswell said they're green?" The dark skin man asked the Captian.
"I doubt Laswell would lie to us Gaz. That goes for you two as well," Price said, turning to the skull masked man and the slightly shorter man standing next to him.
"So that's a infamous Ghost...I thought he be taller," Hawk.
"He lots pretty damn tall to me, considering he's standing near shortstack over there..." Falcon said.
The shorter man sent him a glare, obviously hearing Falcon's comment, but before he could say anything, Ghost pulled him back.
"He's not worth it, Soap."
Y/n heard a Scottish accent come from the man as he watched the two talk.
"Oh, sir... You should probably tell-" Falcon was too late to warn him when Midnight sprang up from behind Ghost and Soap.
Y/n sent her the scariest death glare in history before the woman's knife even made it near the two men. Only then did Ghost realize Y/n was glaring but not at him and turned around only to see nothing there. When he turned back, there was now a third soldier standing near him that wasn't there.
"Who she?" He cocked his head towards her.
"Midnight." and he left it there.
Price turned to look at them apologetically before letting out a long sigh.
"Sorry about the mishaps, mates. Seems we got you mixed up with someone else, by the way... you know who blew up that building?"
"We did," Y/n said quickly, watching the man's face change to confusion.
"Why did you-"
"Sorry, but we're kinda on a tight schedule so we'll see yall again sometime soon yeah? Nice meeting you, Captain and your team. Lovely bunch, really! Sir, we have go to go." Falcon said as he pulled Y/n away, the man shaking his own head and chuckling himself, with the other two laughing.
"Kids am I right?" Y/n shouted as he sent a quick nod to the Captain before turning to greet his own team as they made their way towards exfil.

Manjiro hadn't been the same for years, you had accepted that. His blank stares and minimal talking had been rectified with his protective arm in front of you or how he shares his food. Maybe you missed when you two were kids and he drowned you in affection or talked your ear off. But you were content simply from the fact that he was a part of your life and you were a part of his
You two did your own thing, in the same space and because that had been how it has been for years.....it became comfortable. Of course, the lack of physical touch got to you but it's not like he never touched you, just that he never seemed to make much of a show with it.
But okay, fine, you would get off on his thigh once in a while and cling to him while he kissed you chastely. He would curl up in your arms to sleep or lean against you when his bones were tired. He let you burrow yourself into his body and it was enough because your definition of a relationship had changed along with the two of you.
But sometimes, you're standing in front of the mirror, wearing the prettiest floral dress you've ever worn and you want your boyfriend to fawn over you. It flowed down to your ankles, hugged your chest and when you twirled, the fabric rippled around you. You were pretty, you were beautiful and Manjiro was fucking lucky to have you.
But all he did was give you a once over and nodded. Nodding was the most he did sometimes, eyes bleary eyed and dead. And you could just accept that maybe that's what came with years of being together, that you two weren't in your honeymoon phase anymore.
That you didn't need his validation.
And you didn't.
But you worked hard on your gentle makeup and wind swept hair. You saw the dress of your dreams, tried it on and danced because it felt like you. You looked like a fucking cottagecore fairy that graced everyone with your presence. You wanted to go in a field of flowers and feel like their princess.
So you did, you invited Mikey but he was busy. You went alone with a basket full of food and a blanlet; a tripod and camera. You ate well, read a book, listened to music and took the prettiest pictures ever because self care.
You came home and uploaded them everywhere before your insecurities could nitpick everything out. Before your brain decided to interfere and say that you were ugly. You weren't.
The comments were nice, many and full of exclamation marks. You were showered in praise like you deserved. But it didn't matter to you when the one person you wanted a compliment from, said nothing at all.
That dead eyed, ice cold motherfucker.
You stomped towards him, hair messy and lipstick off with your eye make up smudged. The dress still flowed around you, you felt the silk caress your bare legs. You were still the powerful fairy that made the world fall in love with them, but this time your lips were set in a cold hard line and you were beginning to wonder if the guy you loved even loved you anymore.
He looked up when you loomed over him, eyes peering as he stayed in a perpetual state between dream and reality. He looked paler, eyebags even more prominent. The white hair didn't do anything to make him look livelier. Manjiro laid there and stared at you.
"What do you think of my dress?" You whispered, fight leaving your body.
"Pretty." His cracked, dry voice murmured out.
It shouldn't have but it warmed you.
"Am I pretty?"
"Very."
The tears started and didn't stop, rolling down your cheeks in clusters with a quivering lip and barely opened eyes. Manjiro sat up immediately, eyes widening ever so slightly that only you could've picked it up.
"Do you still love me?"
You've never seen him move as fast as he did in years. His hands grappling for your wrists and pulling you into his lap. It was familiar yet not lived in. Your thighs squeezed him tight as whimpers left your lips. He didn't hesitate to wipe every tear away.
"You are the only person in this world that I am selfish for."
You held him tight and you cried more because even before you asked you knew he loved you. Sano Manjiro wasn't the type to stop loving so easily. And even with the scarcity of affection, he always held your safety and love to the highest regard.
"I know you dont- hic like showing emotions but I just don't know what to believe. Do you not feel any-anything for me anymore?" You sobbed into his shoulder.
"Baby, whatever the fuck is left in me is all you. I've been-" You can feel his breath shudder, "waiting for you to leave me. You never do. I've been waiting for you to show you're miserable but you always- how do you look like you still adore me?"
"I do adore you," You cried even more, "I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you."
"You'd be happier without---"
"Shut the fuck up, we aren't arguing about this again. I just want you to stay with me. Please, please, please just stay."
"You could die," he whispered, "I dunno how I keep you around. But you know, people always die around me."
"I don't wanna grieve you, I know I will if you leave." You murmured back.
"Living is better for you."
"I'd be miserable. You'd be miserable. You already---"
"You'd get over me." He didn't mention himself. He wasn't gonna say shit about him getting over you.
"You're lying to yourself."
"I wanna keep you."
"Keep me."
His hands made it under your dress, over your hip and scratching along your spine. You mewled, clinging to him and rutting yourself against him.
Needy, you were so needy.
"I won't be gentle."
"Fuck gentle, ruin me." You gasped out.
Your underwear was ripped in an instant, dress flourishing around the two of you like a halo untouched.
He fucked you with your tits hanging out and cock stuffed till it was almost impossible to breathe. He fucked you with his mouth biting and bruising your chest and hands groping your ass. He did all the work, rammed into you hard as his only driving force were your moans. He fucked you and even when you came, he didn't stop and you cried pretty for him.
This was him trying, apologising in the kisses he peppered on every inch of your skin. Turned you around so he can go along your spine, lips sticky and causing you to moan even more.
He fucked you and he could feel the edge of the dark impulse coming forward, only stopping because the warmth of your hands were like the sun that kept the darkness away. It came around his sidesx in his harsher thrusts and biting mouth but fuck, you felt safe and good and loved.
All in a pretty dress he saw and adored the first time he laid his eyes on it.

Okay so, I wanna talk about my sonboy Richas, my guy Felps, their relationship, and everything about yesterday as well
So, lets go :D
First thing, Felps actually really don't like taking care of Richas when he's without his armor
Felps has the terrible memory of being the one (together with Cellbit) to watch Richas first death. The three were at a cave and Felps and Cellbit were taken down first and had to watch Richas getting swarmed and die far from their grasp
The death was reverted, but still, when Felps logged in next time, Richas had JUST died to the bull again, so he already had 1 life. It was the very same day, just a couple hours after. Felps always reinforced about the armor, to the point he didn't let Richas take it off even when safe at Foolishs place when he could see Leo didn't wear it
Felps fucking loves that kid, he's just the quieter dad. He won't scream that much, when he panics, he shuts down and focus on the problem. He's the best dad to talk about feelings and often is the one who talks Richas out of his spiraling self deprecating thoughts, while other dads don't have the same touch
Felps has the patience to talk with Richas and hear Richas points. He always is the one talking him into a shower even if it takes a whole trip beforehand so Richas can have fun before it. He sings a lil song to get him through a shower. Ever since he came back from the lab, he trusts Richas a lot with his own strength, he knows Richas can defend himself even better than Felps can defend himself
It means a lot that Felps is the only dad Richas will listen to more easily, even if sometimes it takes a lot of talk and bargain to do so. Richas is a difficult kid, he channels all his sadness and pain into being silly and overly courageous, which means he will be a disobedient kid, he will put himself in danger, he won't listen to his dads if he can make a joke about it and it has been getting worse lately
Richas is Not doing okay, he's constantly scared of losing the ones he love, he feels easily replaceable which makes him panic and act out in 'jealousy'. He has said before he fears his siblings don't really like him and it's why he always wants to have family around, he knows he's a problem and has even apologized to Bad about it once. He thinks he can't express his love through words when he has written so many beautiful things, he paints bc its how he thinks he can better translate his care
Yesterday, after Bad took him and Felps to the graveyard and out of it, Richas went back with Felps and put some flowers around their graves. A small talk started when Felps wondered if the dead eggs were looking down at them, but also couldn't really believe it because they'd be too far up there to actually see anything. Richas then said how people used to tell him Bobby was up in between the stars, but they stopped telling him that 'story'. Then, this talk happened
"Do you think they'd [Dead eggs Richas never met] like me?"
"Ofc they would! Everyone loves you! They'd love you, Richas"
"If I had died today, would I meet them?"
Felps goes quiet for a couple seconds here, then goes back to talking
"Maybe, maybe not. We can never be sure, Richas. What if you died and it's just nothing after, huh? It's a big bet. You can't keep thinking like that and then go throw yourself in front of a zombie horse to find out if they're at the other side"
"Yeah, I wouldn't be able to annoy all the dads, it wouldn't be worth it... I'd miss you all so much" (He used the word saudade)
"Awwn... But you would be dead, Richas. We would be the ones missing you, we would be the ones staying behind"
And to me this is a very telling moment. Because Richas didn't realize people would miss him as well, he just thought about how he'd miss being with the others. He also says how he'd be in hell, missing his family but also laughing at tragedy. When Felps asks why hell, Richas goes "You really think I'd end up in heaven? With the way I am?"
Felps spends the rest of the stream hyping Richas up, telling him how much he's loved and how much everyone cares for him. Felps manages to get through Richas after a while, and they have a nice moment together. Richas already arrived to the square without armor, after having recently argued with Forever about it, and Felps didn't mind bc that area was all lightened up so less mobs were spawning, plus the aforementioned trusts he has on Richas
No one expected the horse because it came from outside the square, right out the border, and literally fell on top of them. Felps was quick to go after it, and Richas was caught out of surprise and got height damage as well, eating through 2 totems (and also having to switch out the other ones from his hand due to the rule)
Felps was smart about the horse, he always hit up high so there wouldn't be any risk of a misclick, he hit crit after crit pushing the horse away so he could better kill it without risking Richas, and he did it! I understand BBHs scare but everything was already solved and Richas was halfway being revived already
If anything, the trip to the cemetery scared Felps more than it did Richas. Richas is well used to the threat of death, he plays with it by jumping into mines and purposefully walking without armor around Forever. But Felps isn't. He wants his kid safe, he wants him alive. Felps was willing to never come back if it meant Richas could have an extra life, he would die over and over for that kid
After everything, he talked with Richas, and the kid didn't rlly need to be convinced to wear his armor now that he knew how the square can be tricky. Felps didn't need to yell, or compare Richas to anyone, or play lil games. Just a talk, and Felps' trust that Richa would now do his part, and he did!
Each mob they encountered next, Richas and Felps stayed side by side. Felps let Richas kill them first bc he knows Richas likes it, but always helping and telling him how he was doing it well. When they were rowing around later in the boat, music playing, Felps went on about how it was all that mattered
Richas was alive, Felps was alive, they got a scare but they were okay now. And it was all worth it for these calm, happy moments. These were the ones that should be remembered, the ones that made it all worth it

M-Making Levi cum by giving wet and sloppy kisses all over his dick 👉🏼👈🏼
i have no idea how this turned into 1.7k of sucking levis dick because THERES NO PLOT but it did and i hope u enjoy it hibi <333
➥ pairing: subby/switch!Levi x switch!fem!Reader
➥ c/w: praise (one use of 'good girl'), the most needy throat fucking ever, handjob, sloppy oral (m!receiving), established relationship, fluffy, pwp
➥ wc: 1.7k
Tumblr media
For once, as soon as Levi crawled into bed next to you that night, shuffling sluggish and smelling wonderfully from a shower, he plopped his head on your chest and sighed deeply.
Half-asleep already?
You wonder where your good fortune came from as your fingers glide through his fluffy hair. Friday is an ordinary work day for him, so you're forced to conclude that your date tonight took it out of him. You smile at the memory already—the little face he made when you started playing footsie under the table, how he snatched up the bill with such speed that you cackled; being sweet as always. But that still doesn't feel like a worthy explanation.
"Dead tired, huh."
He grunts, somewhat miserably. "It's not your fault... I had a shitty day."
"Mhm?"
"Mm."
"Tell me."
To show you're serious about listening, you roll over and take him with you so that he ends up on his back and yourself laying halfway on top of him.
His eyes stay closed as he recounts the awful day he had. Somehow he still manages to glare like that when he reaches the tidbits that annoyed him most. You make noises of disapproval right along with him.
"That bastard..." he grumbles.
"Hey, we could've cancelled tonight if I knew you were this tired..."
His eyes crack open to judge you. They close again, and he grunts dismissively. "And make my day even worse? No thanks."
You smile widely, giggling as you squirm over to lay right on top of him, with your knees slotted outside his hips. As if it were instinct, he lazily wraps his arms around you.
You scoop up his soft cheeks and beam at the confused pout he shows you.
"Aren't you just the best ever."
His lip curls in dislike. In the dim darkness aside from what moonlight illuminates, you can't see in detail, but you bet he's blushing. "...I didn't do anything special..."
"Shut up," you laugh, lean down, and kiss him gently on the lips.
He tilts his head and lazily returns it, his palm raising to your jaw. Though he's tired, you notice this.
Humming, you adjust your hips so that, through your panties, gentle, distinct heat rubs his cock through a thin cotton layer.
Sharply he inhales and tenses under you, too tired, maybe, to put in the effort of quieting the soft moan you lure from his chest.
He breaks the kiss be grudgingly. "Really? When I'm tired for once?" he mumbles. You smell mint on his warm breath, fanning your lips.
"Do you want me to stop?"
He scoffs like something's funny. "But I won't fuck you like you deserve like this."
"Oh my god," you groan in exasperation, and rock against him with a tighter pressure—so you feel every inch of him as his cock gets hard. A sleepy whine gets smushed in your cheek.
He has to be kidding. You'd even think he was doing it on purpose if he was capable of that.
You slide his hand up from your waist, underneath your big t-shirt, welcoming, inviting him to play with your tits. He sighs a soft moan past your parted lips as he squeezes and caresses, savoring the exquisite weight in his palm, and how perfectly soft the swell of your breast.
You kiss his neck and whisper into his ear. "Even if you didn't already deserve it, you saying stuff like that just makes me wanna suck you off even more."
He inhales sharply and digs his grip into your shirt, squeezing hungrily now. He's breathing heavily. You listen to it falter even more as you take his swollen cock out of his sweatpants.
His hips squirm. "Fuck. You can't just say shit like that..."
"You say shit like that all the time."
"It's different," he grumbles.
You chuckle as you nuzzle his cheek and soaking in the heat from his blush.
You briefly let his cock go and slide your hand into your panties. Of course your pussy is soaking wet.
In seconds, you wrap your wet palm around his shaft to more easily stroke. He whispers a groan once he realizes what you’ve just done.
"How is it different?" you ask.
"T..." He cuts himself off with a sigh and bunts your temple as you twist your wrist just so. "It turns me on too much."
"You're so funny, baby."
He makes a weak noise of disagreement, and when you start chuckling again, shoves his lips against yours—successfully shutting you up.
But you don’t spend long giving in before pulling away, then pushing his legs apart to make a comfortable spot for yourself in-between.
Sure it’s convenient enough to keep his underwear on, but after a second of deliberation you decide you don’t want to go on without touching and kissing his thighs, so you peel his boxers down to his knees. You’ve already gotten your hands on his thick thighs when they fall down around his ankles.
He breathes out shakily as you slowly stroke up and down his inner thighs, where his skin feels surprisingly tender and so warm.
He starts to squirm again, hips restless. It’s clear how sleepy he is that he hasn’t tried to close his thighs on your head or even urge you to hurry up.
You smile to yourself, mouthing at his doughy skin so he can feel it. As if touching him was a second thought, you fondle his tip with just a few fingers, unsurprised to feel stickiness clinging to your fingers.
He whines sharply, his hips suddenly rushing up to meet your touch. Below your lips, his muscles tense and twitch.
You moan, grasping the back of his thigh tightly. The thick flesh slightly spills over your fingers.
“I love how sensitive you are for me, how pretty… how sweet… You make me so happy. Don’t think I’ll let you go unappreciated."
The sheets shift with his squirming. He doesn't reply with words, but, how heavily his cock throbs and the way he reaches down to firmly cradle the nape of your neck speaks for him.
You wrap his twitchy cock in your fist and slowly, but firmly start stroking.
“Ngh—… Sweetheart…”
Where you were hardly in any hurry before, you now drag your lips up his inner thigh, stopping only here and there to smack a wet kiss with a degree of urgency like that in his raspy voice.
Scooping up his heavy balls in your palm, you massage slowly as your tongue slides up his shaft. You hear yourself moan, tasting yourself. Levi’s thighs jerk, and he can’t help, you think, but whine. There’s always a sense of strain in the whispered moans that escape his chest, always embarrassed to be heard.
Your nostrils flare. Still caressing his balls, you lean forward, using the vantage to pin his cock to his belly with sloppy, open-mouthed kisses.
"Fuck," he gasps, twitching and tensing. His thick shaft throbs readily under your kisses.
"Mhm?"
His other hand has fallen down to the seat of his thigh, lacing your fingers tightly.
You lick the underside of his sensitive tip like it’s candy, swirling over his slit in eager circles. Now he can’t help but let you hear him.
You close your lips and suck just fleetingly before beginning all over again down below, the whole time his hips canting down, pleading for more pressure. Finding a pronounced vein, you trace it in long strokes, and a shivering jolt shakes through his body.
“Please…” His thighs quiver, threatening to close on your ears. “…Please, more.”
Your humor yourself just a bit more, swirling your tongue in his sticky slit, before popping hot plump slit into the heat of your mouth.
"Hah, fuck..." he gasps, and whines your name.
A shaky hand slides from your hair to grasp your jaw, and you know he's squinting, even through darkness, to watch you.
"Ah. That's good. Fuck," he whispers. “Fuck,” he mumbles.
He drags his hand out of yours, and takes his cock, pushing it slowly past your lips. It’s heavy and firm dragging along your tongue, fittingly so, like it’s meant just for you to satisfy. His cock stuffs your cheeks nicely.
Softly, you moan, sucking hard as he pushes in the final inches suddenly. His thighs, or even his whole body, shivers again.
"Fuck—that's a good girl. Fuck, I'm..."
He cradles your cheeks now, his hips twitching impatiently, but still with a certain reverence. You go pliant, offering your tight mouth to rock into, and your lips to grind his balls against when the need for more overwhelms him; instead pouring your energy in keeping his thighs locked apart.
He moans softly to push into your welcoming wet mouth, and whispers a groan to pull back.
He’s urgent, but careful like always. The faster you let him thrust, the more his cock taps the back of your throat, the rough he lets himself be and the more blindly he chases his climax. Your mind spins and floats.
His palm presses harder to your cheek, so that both of you feel his cock stuffing your supple mouth with even greater clarity. It sounds as wet and sloppy as it feels.
Tears squeeze out from your shut eyes, and you couldn’t enjoy it more, offering yourself up to be a hole for him to use and fuck. Especially when he doesn’t think he deserves it.
"I need t’come," he mumbles through panting, slurring the words. His palm slides around to the nape of your neck to better hold you in place, making you shiver. Drool runs down your chin as you swallow and adjust to his sudden increase in speed.
"Mmph..."
"Fuck—you make me so hard. Jus' like that. I’m gonna come. Fuckin' perfect mouth, perfect throat, fucking, I’m gonna…”
His measured thrusts intensify becoming short, fast and precise when his cock starts to strain and his balls raise in your hold. He reaches climax with whiny gasp, suddenly freezing with his cock stuffed in your throat. Tears run down as you're forced to reflexively swallow around it.
"F-Fuck…!”
His thighs practically writhe while he grips your hair, feverishly humping his climax down your throat. Each thrust is punctuated by a soft satisfied moan.
And what’s more, you swallow every single drop.

Am I the asshole for giving a random guy my friend's phone number?
(🍫📲 to find later)
I (22 NB/F) was working one day at my place of work by going around and putting various items for sale where they belong in the store, as well as taking out the recycling. As I was making my way up to the front of the store so I could go to break, this older gentleman needed help reaching something. I helped him pull it down, but before I continued I was stopped by this other kid. He had a healthy-looking emo haircut and wardrobe, so I didn't think too much about it at the time. I kid you not, his eyes were big and wide like some kind of bishounen anime (idk if I spelled that right). Literally looked straight out of one almost, he reminded me of an excited puppy too.
"Hello! Do you need help with something?"
"Uh- actually, I was wondering if I could have your Snapchat?"
I was completely gobsmacked.
"Uh- I don't have a snap chat." A lie, but only because my snap is exclusively for my BFFEAE (Best Friend For Ever And Ever). I don't pass it out to my coworkers, family, or any other friends. Just her.
"Can I have your number then?"
Usually guys don't like. Spend this long on me. I'm Demiromantic and Asexual, and for those who don't know, that means I have no interest in having sex with anyone and have no interest in dating anyone but close friends. I never thought I'd be in this situation. Ever. The idea of anyone asking me out of the fucking blue for this is so far out of left field for my expectations that I was just staring awkwardly at him for a moment.
"... unless... age is an issue?"
"Ah- no, I am 22, but I'm just not interested in a relationship right now."
And it's the truth, honestly. My mental health has been a rollercoaster of emotions and schedules that I've been struggling to maintain for months. I did have one at the beginning of the year, but dropped it because I realized I couldn't trust my lover (he was extremely conservative, and I had to hide a lot of my life from him, but it was nice while it lasted honestly. Broke up on good terms).
"That's okay. Maybe we can just hang out sometime or something."
I'll be honest, I haven't been in good health to try a brand new friendship with a complete stranger either (I have horrid social anxiety to the point where I am basically a shit in hermit, and with everything going on in my life I don't think I can handle pushing my anxiety well).
Now, years ago, when me and my BFFEAE first moved to different states, we agreed that we could use each other's phone numbers to give out if we couldn't handle it or just wanted the guy to leave us alone. We have each other permission to pretend to be each other for it, that way they're more likely to listen thinking it's you saying "no thanks" instead of her friend saying "get off her back".
So in the span of ten seconds, because this kid was really sweet and I was still pretty shocked this was even happening, I was giving my friend's number to this sparkly-eyed kid (idk how old he was but I assumed he was younger than me, that's just my natural assumption honestly) and continued on with my work day. I told him a semi-common nickname of mine instead of my actual name bc my name is hard to spell and I didn't feel like putting much time into it.
Of course, immediately after I called my friend up and left her a message saying I passed her to this really sweet kid and to be kind with him (she's a protective mama bear kind of person) but that I simply wasn't interested and didn't have the right mindspace for a new anything.
Fast forward to when I get off work and check in with my friend, she and the kid had been chatting back and forth. Apparently he was into drugs (I have sensory issues and can't handle that kind of thing, so I feel like I've actually dodged a bullet) but was getting along really well with her otherwise. We got chatting about it when I confirmed that I'm not open to hanging out with him and that as long as she's kind and doesn't try to set me up with him or anything, I'm fine with her discussing whatever with him.
"I get it girl, we all get like that for a time. I'll keep it away from ya.
By the way, he thought you gave him a random number. He was SOO excited when I responded as you lol"
I felt absolutely sick and was horrified. I figured he would have been like "sick", but apparently he had been like "FUCK YEAH". I feel horrible for deceiving him like this, but I genuinely am in no spot where I can mentally handle picking up a new friendship, much less a romantic relationship. It doesn't help that he genuinely caught me off guard, and passing him her number was my first response to handling it.
Am I the asshole for doing this?
What are these acronyms?

There is so little Heather Duke x reader stuff it pains me
How about a reader who loves getting into fights and usually never needed a reason to start a fight, but Kurt or/and Ram found out about Duke's bulimia and started being assholes and the reader got into a huge fight with them for it
You can change it up but moral of the story is that the reader ends up fighting for Heather D. (If you get the reference I love you)
'Cause I Will Fight For You
|| Heather Duke x fem!reader
|| Warnings;, swearing, bulimia mention, eating disorder mention, reader getting into a fight with Kurt and Ram, short drabble
|| Summary; reader had quite the reputation around Westerburg. A worse fight starter than Kurt and Ram. And it doesn't help when she overhears said jocks talking bad about her girlfriend.
Requests open!
Started; september 25th
Finished; september 26th
~~~
Tumblr media
"Hey, dude. Did you hear?"
You were walking through the halls, passing Kurt and Ram. The most annoying, classic jocks you'd ever had the displeasure of meeting. You were a little curious about what Kurt was talking about, so you slowed your walk just slightly to catch a glimpse of their conversation. Wondering if it was anything you could take back to Heather Duke; your girlfriend. Who very much liked rumours and gossip.
"Nah bro, what?" Ram asked, the way they spoke made you roll your eyes. God it was like they'd never listened to the English teacher a day in their life.
"Heather Duke has some wicked eating dis-" Before the words were even out of his mouth, you had thrown your fist at him. Not even giving him the opportunity to make fun of your girlfriend for struggling with bulimia. It was something the two of you were working on.
But you weren't about to listen to someone bad mouth her. You were known for never needing a reason to start a fight, you got into them all the time. Nearly daily, but you were good at avoiding getting caught too. Normally you weren't so careless like how you were right now. Besides, now you actually had a reason to fight. And you got to fight Kurt, which was really an added bonus in your eyes.
"Leave her alone, you ass!" You shouted, standing your ground as he aimed a punch right back at you. You dodged it, but didn't quite escape Ram who had slammed you into the lockers.
"And you leave him alone, you psycho! God, Y/N." Ram looked at you with disgust.
Next thing you knew it you were in an all out brawl with both jocks, putting up a damn good fight. And crowd.
"Holy shit! Fight, fight, fight!" You'd heard a few kids chanting but ignored them, focusing on pinning Kurt to the ground.
Until one voice caught your attention.
"What the fuck?" Heather Duke.
Everyone stopped and starred at her.
"Y/N. Here." She pointed to the ground just as Kurt threw a petty punch at you.
You had been focused on Duke, so his punch hit you in the cheek. Causing you to sputter in surprise.
Heather rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest, waiting for you to listen. She was used to this by now with the amount of fights you got into; she almost always had to lecture you afterwards. Which was really a cover up for her worry.
You managed to get away from Kurt and walked over to Heather, standing just behind her.
"What are you all staring at?" She snapped and people quickly scrambled out of there, including Kurt and Ram. Who had run into each other when they tried to run away.
Heather looked at you and sighed," Y/N.."
"Look, I know. I've heard your lectures," You winced, feeling the ache in your cheek from Kurt's punch." But I actually had a reason this time-"
"What reason could you possibly have?" She raised an eyebrow at you and you sighed.
"They were making fun of you, or trying. I punched Kurt before he could finish whatever he was going to say." You murmured, catching Heather's attention.
Her eyes narrowed, but not directed at you. "Just let me handle them next time, okay? Stop getting into fights. As hot as it is, I don't need the reputation of dating someone who got expelled. Got it?" She turned it around to be about her, because she wasn't going to let you know she actually cared about you. That would be showing weakness.
"Yeah, I got it... sorry Heather." You mumbled back and she kissed you.
"Good. Now come on. Heather's waiting."
Summary: Before all this, you were a nurse. A nurse who had patients, one of which was a man in a coma. A sheriff, you think, it was all kinda fuzzy now. When it all went sideways, you set up what you could for the man - but had to leave. You’d always wondered where he’d ended up; until in your search of shelter, you run into a familiar face.
TWS: Blood, gore, angst, mentions of death, gun violence (just violence in general), mention of trauma, crying, threats, Rick is kind of losing it???, talk about never seeing someone again, swearing, and all things typical of TWD.
[[A/N: Unhinged Rick is kind of in for me rn so... Yeah, that's how this came about. Do I know anything about the Governor's first attack on the prison? No. This is very lightly based on the plot. I listened to 'As the World Caves In' by Matt Matese when I was writing this... so, BEWARE. I did cry while writing this... Enjoy! Thanks for reading :)) ]]
The first thing you heard of it was the noise. It was a loud engine, almost, and a rumbling across the ground. Loud and threatening, it only grew louder.
Something was coming.
Your head was blurry then, you moved through your office with quick hands -stashing whatever you could find into your cross-body bag. Somehow getting through the bleary alarm of Rick and the kids, echoing through your brain like the flashing lights of a police cruiser. You'd say you were proud of yourself, but there wasn't time.
A sting registering far off in your head, you zipped up the bag and tossed it over your shoulder -easily welding your weapon in the other. Ever since your people had started going missing, you'd been expecting it -somewhere deep in your head, you knew it could never be this perfect. It was pessimistic, sure, but you were in the apocalypse, you figured it was natural.
And then, you were on your feet. The speed at which you traveled along was a blur in your head, as you pushed through the few people that remained in the prison huddled behind different objects. You didn't stop to think of why.
"Y/N, what's-" a voice started, in that moment you barely recognized her -you'd seen her in the office once. That's all you could remember.
"J-Judith," you interrupted, voice desperate and strained against your throat -it was like the worry was clawing up, suffocating you.
She paused, eyeing your despair with a sort of sympathy, "I- I don't know, I'm sorry. I think Beth went up there last. I'm so sorry-"
You didn't even hesitate, pushing past her without so much as an extra thought. Judith's room, she was... Fuck, why couldn't you remember it now? Your eyes blinked in a bleary sort of haze, tears rising behind them, and you cursed at the sobs bubbling up your throat.
"Not now," you whispered into the empty hallway, trying to grasp the ground beneath you, "-not now."
Before you could get much farther, you heard something. There was a familiar tone, distant but you knew that tone. Something came over you, and you spun in your path determined that if Rick was out there, the kids were no doubt safe. Rick would never-
And then, the rumbling came to a stop under your feet.
A loud voice rang out through the air, you hadn't heard it before, but somehow you knew. Rick had told you enough about the thinning safety, despite him working so effortlessly to clear out the cell blocks. And Andrea...
"What do I want, Rick?"
You stepped out into the more open room, eyes catching on a few faces hidden behind the block walls -afraid of what was to come. And then, you saw him.
The Governor with a tank right at the gates, and your body stilled at recognizing one of the few figures framed out there: Rick.
"Little birdie told me that you have two doctors 'round here," his voice echoed out, and you watched as one too many eyes fell to you, "-think you can spare one for Woodbury?"
There was something in the way he said it, the slight lilt in his words to Rick, that made you know he was looking for you. He was looking to hurt Rick physically, and you were you. Andrea had told him so much, why not the thing between you and Rick?
You swung around, facing the crowd and trying to find any sort of familiar face -one you could trust. And then you saw him, Hershel.
His leg was still bandaged, but he was still trying to rise at the words -eager to help. Something in you knew he couldn't leave like this. The Governor wouldn't have sympathy, he'd die. He couldn't do whatever the Governor asked, but you... you could.
"Hershel," you whispered out in a hush, stopping the movement in it's tracks, "-stop. I need you to hold on to this for me, okay? You should know what everything i-"
"No," he answered, simply -desperately.
"Yes," you bit back the thickness in your throat, and tried to steady your voice, "-I... I have to."
"I can go."
"No," you spoke back, not breaking eye contact, "-you can't. You and I both know that. He wants me."
Hershel sighed, heavy, holding your hands in his -the only thing shining in his eyes was a deep sort of resignation. You didn't let him say another word.
It might change your mind, but you couldn't change your mind.
This was what you had to do, it was what would be better for the group -you'd do it. You'd do anything for these people, and with Hershel still there, it was easier.
You turned back around, now, only brandishing your weapon -a sort of deep heaviness in your chest but a fire in your eyes.
Rick had his back turned to you -fully focused on the opposite side of the fence. He stood tall, right in the path of the tank -if the Governor were to move it anymore. The fingers around your weapon tightened, as you pushed forward -eager to fix it because you knew you could.
"Well, hello," the Governor spoke, eye settling on you -carefully trying to recognize you (probably from Andrea's description), "-Y/N I presume, lovely for you to join us."
At your name, you saw Rick still -back still facing you, but you could almost see the bristle of tension hitting his shoulders. You figured he'd react that way, didn't help the soft twist in your chest -a sickening sort of guilt. As long as he was still alive, you could live with that.
Your response was quick, tone a touch less friendly to him, "Well, you asked for me, didn't you?"
"Smart one you got here, Rick."
That made his head swift towards the Governor, a heat heavy behind his eyes and a shift in his jaw. It was something so different than what you knew Rick to be -you felt a little out of place at the change. But something in you was pleased somehow at the anger for you.
Rick spoke, tone harsh but not moving in his stance at all -eyes speaking well enough for him, "I won't give up any of my people."
"Right," the Governor spoke, eyes looking to you, "-think we've covered that."
You stilled ever so slightly under his gaze, trying to stand tall in the face of a man who could surely end many lives in your group. Hand white knuckling your weapon, you didn't flinch at the attention.
As expected, he spoke to you, "What do you think? Do you want to chance your people?"
Your mouth opened, but he only continued.
"I'm sure you've seen what these things do to people," he gestured to the crowds of walkers around the fence -drawn to the noise, "-probably on the front lines, huh?"
Your mind was distantly filled with the hospital -blood on your scrubs, screams of a nurse. You remembered the first time you'd ever seen one, a patient had died -sudden cardiac arrest. An intern, god she was so young- had gone to check the vitals for some unusual behavior. An unhinged jaw-
No one had expected it.
"I-" you started, wishing the sob in your throat to go back down.
The Governor brought you no relief, crouching down to grab a jaw of a walker -pulling it close to the fence, "How much damage could this do? You probably know, right? Can you imagine what a crowd of them could do?"
You exhaled, trying to shake away the rush of emotions, now was not a good time. You hadn't thought about it all since... since it happened.
"Stop," Rick's voice was low, almost a growl.
"Oh, Sheriff to the rescue-" the Governor grinned, throwing the walker to the ground without so much as an extra thought, "-whose surprised?"
Squeezing the fabric of your shirt ever so slightly, fingers brushing against it -desperately trying to ground you at the moment. Exhaling, you stood just as tall -the slight shake of your hands barely noticeable against your stiffened form.
"Stop," Rick repeated, low and somehow balanced in his tone.
You exhaled, standing your ground -matching Rick's eyes with a sense of calm, "You don't?"
The Governor stalled slightly, just a slight flinch -your eyes could see it though. You knew of his loss, Michonne had told the group what she'd done to explain the furious rage after her.
"Haven't you had someone ripped to shreds by one? Teeth gnashing, skin ripping-" your voice was shaking, but you could see it working, "-or did you not? Were you not even there when it happened?"
The Governor was unsettled -a sort of unease on his face, "Brave, that's very brave, Y/N. Threatening the guy with a tank, that's new."
Rick was looking at you in hurried glances, eyes heavy on the shaking of your hands. He was trying to look over you, even in such a tense situation; something in you warmed at the thought. But you didn't have the nerve to look back at him -you wouldn't have the strength to leave if you did.
With the murmur of memories low in the back of your head, you braced yourself, "I'll go with you."
That sent Rick spinning to look at you, a threatening loom on his eyebrows -something hurt in his eyes, even out of the corner of your sight, it still seemed to squeeze your heart. Mouth forming to say something, and you weren't sure you could listen.
"A volunteer!" he yelled, cutting off the heavy eye contact, "This place that bad?"
"As long as you take that out of here," you ignored him -pointing at the tank just a breath from the fence that protected everyone in the prison, "-I'll... I'll go to Woodbury."
"Tough bargain," the Governor hummed in a sort of selfish sort of tone as if he was actually considering it. Like it wasn't exactly what he wanted.
"Y/N," Rick's voice was soft -just for you to hear, eyes turned to you and you couldn't help but look back this time. You saw it then, a sort of sadness deep in them -one you hadn't seen since... since you'd known him.
You mustered what you could, trying to tell him everything you could in that split second you had. Conveying how much you cared, that you were doing this for him. He had to know it was for him-
"Rick, this is what I have to do," your voice was shaky, the threat of tears looming ever-present, barely loud enough to hear over the crowd of anguish.
"You don't have to do anythin', nothin'. I can-"
"Rick," you whispered -a plead for him to listen, to accept it, "-I'm doing this. It's better for everyone, you have to understand-"
He stared at you, heavy with a sort of feeling that you felt in your own heart then. A sort of deep sorrow bubbling up in your chest -tightening against your heart, a sort of suffocating feeling. You swallowed it down the best you could, the catch in your throat so loud. You can't give in, you can't give in-
"Please," he uttered, shaky and open and vulnerable, it was the final straw. As he looked at you with such an honest open plea, something deep twisted in your stomach -a fiery mix of what fear you felt then, and what you felt for Rick.
Your words were quiet, so only he could hear them -you only wanted him to hear them. Last words skimming through your head, what was the last possible thing you ever wanted to say to him? If this was it, what did you want him to know?
"I love you."
It came out in a gust of air, breathed out, and for a second you worried he'd even heard it. It was so quiet that the wind could've caught it and blown it like a leaf -away from the intended ears. But then, you saw him.
He looked at you, he always was, but this time it was like he was really seeing you for the first time -a desperate sort of frantic search over you. If it was the last time, you imagined he'd want to remember it -every hair strand, every tear of your clothes, every scar on your face.
You knew because you wanted to remember his.
Steeling your face into something far less emotional, you spoke -curt and direct, "When are we leaving?"
Caged In (part 3)
Part 1 Part 2
Day 3 : Masks
Summary: Lucien and his friend seem to be getting closer, more than any of them were prepared for.
•○●⛦●○•
A/n: you didn't expect me to not write angst in this series, did you? 🤨
@lucienweekofficial
•○🌑○•
Lucien's pov.
Lucien walked up to the bonfire, towards where Y/n had settled herself on a log of wood.
Six months ago, if someone had told him he'd be spending most of his time with someone from the inner circle, he would have laughed at them.
Now he wondered why he hadn't ever talked to his newest friend before he had helped her escape.
Because her brother would have carved your balls out if you had talked to her.
Fair enough, Lucien thought, but silenced the voice in his head nonetheless, and continued on with the hot chocolate he held in his hand.
Y/n had demanded that she wanted to drink hot chocolate, and so he had to bend to her needs.
I wonder if you would bend to her needs even in the bed–
Lucien shook his head, trying to clear it. He didn't need any stray thoughts, especially on a night when he was alone with Y/n.
I have a fucking mate, for cauldron's sake.
Never mind that his mate hadn't ever cared for him.
Jurian and Vassa had decided to take a trip to a nearby town, and they were going to stay there for the night. For what reason, Lucien didn't know. But he did know what Jurian was thinking of when he had wiggled his eyebrows at Lucien before they left.
Bastard.
Y/n turned at the sound of his boots crunching on the leaves, the fire casting half of her face in shadows. She gave him a sweet smile, reaching up for her cup of hot chocolate. He handed it to her, trying not to brush his fingers against hers, descending onto the log placed next to hers.
That meant he was out of touching distance of her, and he regretted not sitting right next to her. Because the night was cold, and some body heat would have been nice.
Keep telling yourself that. There's plenty of things that can keep you warm. The fire in front of you, the fire in your fucking veins–
Lucien sighed, taking a sip from his cup.
The two of them sat and drank in silence for some time, simply enjoying each other's company.
When he was almost finished, he spoke up, able to go only so long without hearing her beautiful voice.
"Do you know of the wood spirits?"
He knew he had her full attention when she angled her body towards him.
"What are those?"
"There's a story about a boy, who loved to play on the woods. He was found in the forest more often than in his house. People always warned him of the spirits. Apparently, the spirits live in forests, and they develop an attachment to people who spend too much time near them.
"One day, the boy fell sick, and didn't go into the woods. The wood spirits were mad, and they took him in the middle of the night from his bed. He was never seen again."
Y/n shifted closer, shuddering. "Where did you hear such things?"
"Kids in the autumn Court usually grow up listening to stories like these. I heard them from my nanny, as my mother thought they were not good for little kids. The nanny was quite old, and I always believed her when she told me of monsters under my bed."
She stared at him, wide eyed. "Who would do that to a young child!? Why would someone do that?"
Lucien laughed. "It was to simply keep me from going into the forest too much and potentially getting lost. Though I agree it was not the best way to do that."
Both of them finished their drinks after that in silence, though Y/n looked visibly stressed as she kept glancing around. He grinned softly, watching her. Her body tensing up at every small sound.
"Y/n?"
She jumped, glancing at him. At the sight of his grin, she flushed red. "Shut up."
His grin widened. "But I didn't say anything."
She grumbled under her breath, glancing around again.
It was fun seeing her like this.
And he was nowhere done scaring her.
•○●⛦●○•
"And then you know what happened?" Lucien whispered.
"What?" She leaned forward, looking like she was fighting her inner instincts to run.
It had been hours of him just telling her about the stories he'd heard from his nanny and others, and he could practically scent Y/n's fear in the air.
"She was busy listening to her friend, not paying attention to her surroundings, when..."
"When?" She muttered back impatiently.
He told himself he was only trying to get her fear out of her as he grabbed hold of his magic, shaping the fire into a warm hand, and gently placed it onto Y/n shoulder.
She screamed, launching up from her seat. She turned to look at the place she'd just vacated, her chest heaving.
He laughed. For the first time in what felt like years, he laughed. Deep, belly laughs. And he couldn't stop himself even if he wanted to.
There was nothing but the sound of his laughter around them, and after a few moments, he slowed down a little, still grinning hard.
His eyes had shut in the process, and he blinked then open to find Y/n staring at him, her lips parted.
He blinked several times, his smile slowly fading as he kept staring back at her.
Had he done something wrong? Was she angry at him? Was he being too loud?
Yes. You are being too loud.
Lucien looked away from her, swallowing as guilt crept up his throat.
He shouldn't have done that. He shouldn't have scared her, and shouldn't have laughed.
Most of all, he shouldn't have let her in. He shouldn't have befriended Y/n. Because, fuck, she was making him shed all his protective masks. Making him forget who he was supposed to be, showing her all of who he was.
"Lucien?" She called softly, trying to get his attention. He did not look at her.
He heard the crunching of the dried leaves, coming closer to him. Still, he did not turn.
She sat down next to him. "Lucien. Look at me."
He finally did, though reluctantly. Warily.
"Do that again."
He blinked.
What?
"Do what again?"
"Laugh. Laugh again Lucien."
He huffed, turning to the fire. "Why?"
"I've never seen you laugh."
"I can't just laugh without any reason."
"So you are telling me you haven't had a reason to laugh in the past six– probably more– months?"
"You know that's not what I meant."
From his peripheral vision, he saw her watching him, doing nothing. But then she sighed. "Looks like I'll have to give you a reason to laugh then."
Before he could process what she was doing, she had pounced on him, stradling his lap and pushing him down onto his back. Her fingers began attacking his sides, and laughter once again poured from him.
"Y/n– Y/n please stop. Stop." He begged between bursts of laughter, to no avail.
She kept tickling him for what felt like hours, not stopping to even let him breathe.
When he was able to finally catch her wrists and stop her, he was out of breath.
She laid on top of him, grinning as he caught his breath.
"Let me go Lucien." She tugged on her hands.
He rose an eyebrow. "So you can tickle me again?"
Her grin widened. "I won't."
"I don't believe you." He snapped, but let her go when she tugged on her hand again.
She raised her hand up towards his face, and he tensed when he felt her fingers on his forehead, tenderly touching his scar.
"What are you doing?" He whispered.
She ignored him, continuing to run her fingers over his scar. He closed his eyes when she reached his eye.
"You are so beautiful."
"Y/n–"
"Shut up. Let me speak. You are so fucking beautiful, especially when you laugh. Why don't you laugh more often?"
"I don't know... just don't feel like it."
"Why don't you open up? Why don't you let someone in?" She paused for a moment before continuing, her voice barely audible. "Why don't you let me in? Why don't you let me see what's under the masks you wear?"
That was the last straw, and if she didn't stop, he wouldn't be able to stop himself. And that could simply not do.
His hand snapped up, clutching her wrist again as he opened his eyes.
There was barely a hairsbreadth of space between the two, and the emotions swirling in Y/n's eyes made something constrict in Lucien's chest.
His eyes dropped to her lips, then travelled back up with great difficulty. He cleared his throat.
"I think this is not an appropriate position to be in, my lady. Would you mind..."
She blinked, and the trance that the two of them were in broke. She scrambled to sit up, patting her hair down after she had settled back into the place next to Lucien. He sat up too, cursing himslef.
They sat there in awkward silence for some time as Lucien wondered how to get out of the situation.
She was still looking at him, her eyes searching his face. Lucien refused to meet her eyes. She reached her hand out, as if to grab his, and as fate would have it, they both spoke up at the same moment.
"Lucien–"
"Good night–"
She closed her mouth, staring at him. Her hand curled into a fist, and she pulled it back to rest on her lap. She nodded. "Good night."
Lucien glanced up, but now she had turned away, staring into the dying fire.
He swallowed down the urge to tell her all his deepest thoughts, fears and desires.
To beg for her forgiveness. He didn't know why though. He had done nothing wrong.
And so he stood, turning back towards the path that led back home. "Don't stay out for long." Then he added to try and lighten the situation. "Or the wood spirits might take a liking to you."
"Atleast they would not ignore me when I try to get them to open up." She muttered under her breath, and Lucien pretended not to hear her.
And then he did what he shouldn't have, the opposite of what his heart begged for.
He left her alone.
Scarlet Part 2
For @aguilaguerrera10, here’s the second part. Again, so sorry for the wait. I’ve been trying to make a habit of finishing my stuff. So, to everyone, I am in the process of making your posts. I am very grateful for your patience and I am trying my best to get to all of you.
TW: ANGST, FIGHTING BETWEEN FATHER AND SON, and uh.. yeah. If there is anything else I missed or that troubles you, let me know, and I’ll put it in.
Tumblr media
(Edit done in Picsart by me)
Neither you nor Jason ever mentioned your grandfather.
It didn’t matter. Jason raised you, cared for you. He was family and you were, too; finding out about your real family didn’t change that. Jason is your real family - who cares who your mother is or who your grandfather is? Jason has been there for you your entire life - you could care less about your 'other' family.
As you continue on with your life, each day your vigilante work got tougher; forgetting the incident between Jason and your grandfather. You were always near your dad, who explicitly told you to never stray from his eyesight unless given permission to - you listened, of course. Gotham is full of surprises, and Jason is a seasoned veteran at this sort of thing. While you may know how to dropkick a guy from above or put a man in a chokehold, Jason knows when a guy is gonna pull the trigger, or who's hiding behind the corner. Once, you got into a run-in with a group of thugs. You and Jason took them down, one by one. You let your guard down for a second, and you were tackled to the ground, repeatedly getting your face punched out. You would’ve been dead..-
If it wasn’t for Jason’s hard fist knocking their jaw out.
The memories were hazy…
You were going in and out of consciousness, but.. you could’ve swore you saw Jason’s knuckles covered in blood. When you managed to pick yourself up and run to safety, you also swore you heard a gunshot.
You shrugged it off as a result of nearly getting your head smashed in, but the more you thought about it, deep down, you start to wonder more and more about what your dad actually did to those men…
“Scarlet.”
You snapped out of your thoughts. “You understand?” Jason stands before you, arms crossed over his chest. You blink under your mask then nod. “Yes. I understand. No confrontation whatsoever.” Your Dad caught wind of an ‘organization’ doing some shady business around Crime Alley. A few searches and criminal records lead him down to a run-down building, deep in the east-end surrounded by the apartments of the ghetto, which is where you two currently stand on the rooftop of. He didn't intend to bring you along, but after going through some more information, he realized he was going to need a helping hand, so here you are.
Jason looks down, observing the guards through the clear windows. “If anything goes wrong, let me know, and I’ll come get you. Remember: never stray from my radar.” You nod. “Got it.” All you were assigned to do is take pictures and gather info - that's it. No confrontation, no take-downs, just sneaking around and playing spy; it will be your first time going solo. Jason stares at you then takes a deep breath - he would be lying if he said he wasn't worried about you. So many what-ifs and a thousand scenarios of the absolute worst things to happen play around in his mind. He knows you’re a good kid, you’ve rarely ever gone against him, and the only time you did was when you wanted to become a vigilante. Besides that, you never caused trouble for him, but still, he couldn’t help but worry - hell - fear.
You noticed Jason's silence and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Hey, what are you scared about? All I gotta do is take a few pictures," you assured, "No biggie!” Although your face was behind a mask, he can feel your bright smile.
It's not that he doesn't trust you.
He trusts you.. wholeheartedly.
It’s those sick fucks that he doesn’t trust.
He holds your gaze then places a hand on your head. "I can always trust you, kid." He says. You smile then run to the air vent with Jason following right behind.
Using the X-ray vision in his mask, he gauges the area: there aren’t as many guards compared to yesterday. You won’t be engaging the enemy and you'll be in the vents, so it didn't matter as much. 'But you never know.' He noted. Jason would be careless to not think there could be more hidden around somewhere in the warehouse. "Well, kid." He turns to you. "Whenever you're ready." Nodding, you use a laser pen you made out of a laser pointer for cats - with the help of your dad, of course. The beam cuts through the vents, carving a circle into the metal, and all it took was one, gentle, push to create a perfect opening. You took one last look at your Dad, then climbed in. Jason can feel his nerves bubbling in his gut, but he pushed them down. 'You'll be fine.' He reassured himself. 'You're a good kid.'
You peer through the holes of the vents: there's a group of men surrounding a map on a table. Using the mini camera in your mask, you snap a few pics then move on to the next room. Jason sat on the rooftop watching the red dot on the map move across the vents in his helmet. Despite overviewing the entire area, he couldn’t shake off the suspicion about the unusual small number of guards hanging around the building. It gave him that much more anxiety with you.
"She shouldn't be doing this."
Jason grits his teeth.
He didn't need to ask to know who it was…
In the pitch black night of Gotham, a tall figure, camouflaged like a menacing shadow, stands behind Jason.
How long has it been..?
Weeks? Months? Years?
God knows how long since he last spoke to the man he was disgusted to call his mentor, his father.
"What do you want?"
"You know why."
Truth be told, Jason does..
Very well…
Along with finding out who your grandfather and mother is, Ra's also told him of who your father is, and your brother. Jason stands up. "Yeah, I do. What of it?"
Bruce's face was as cold and as expressionless as always. He saunters closer to Jason. "She can't live like this." Jason glares through his mask. "Who are you to decide that?" "I mean it, Jason. It's dangerous." Jason scoffs. "Funny coming from you and your four other little birds."
"Make that five."
The familiar cape dawned with the bright red, yellow, and green colors flies down beside him. An unfamiliar figure stands before him, another kid, another Robin. Jason narrows his eyes. "That's right. Almost forgot about you."
Damian Al-ghul Wayne. Grandson to Ra's Al Ghul, son to Talia and Bruce Wayne.
Your older twin brother.
Robin scoffs. "You've heard of me? Good."
Egotistic.
Wonderful…
"My sister will be coming back with us. That's a guarantee."
Jason clicks his teeth. It's his first time seeing the little devil in person and it's already bad enough learning that your mother tried to leave you for dead, it's a whole other thing to find out she abandoned you in favor of this entitled brat. 'Must be genetic.' Jason thought. "Yeah. That's not happening." Robin narrows his eyes. "Yeah. You heard me - she's staying with me and just like how I told your bastard of a grandfather: if any of you even lay a hand on my kid - I'll put a bullet in your skulls," Jason pulls out one of his pistols, "That's a guarantee."
Robin grits his teeth. Before he could even think about lashing out, Batman stands in front of him. "Think about this, Jason-" "I have. A long time ago. No one is taking my kid away from me, especially you."
A rustling echoes from the vent. All men turn to you as you climb out.
"I got all the pictures, Red. Is there..-" Your sentence trails off. Your dad, Batman and Robin standing before you.
Anyone who was born or has lived in Gotham long enough are familiar with the iconic dynamic duo, but to see them in person is an entirely different experience. Usually, you would be excited - if it wasn't for the feeling that something was wrong.
"...what's going on?"
Batman took a few steps towards you only for Jason to jump infront. There's a feral look in his eyes, his shoulders raised up and his muscles tense.
“Jason, please-"
“No! We’re done talking.”
Turning around, Jason starts walking. “Come on, kid. We’re leaving.” Glancing at the duo, you stare at them for a good minute before reluctantly following Jason. “Wait-” Batman grabs your hand.
Before you realize it, Batman goes flying backwards.
You blink.
You find your dad right next to you, his leg outstretched, breathing heavily.
It took a few moments for the gears to turn in your head. Then you realized…
Your dad kicked Batman.
The Dark Knight groans and sits up holding his stomach. You stand in complete shock, unsure of what to make of what just happened. Seeing this, Robin grits his teeth and runs at him, jumping up to send a roundhouse kick towards Red Hood’s head. “Robin! No!” Batman yells. Jason effortlessly catches him, flinging him across the roof to the next building. He tumbles a few times before falling to the ground, groaning.
Your mouth hangs open, stilled by both fear, confusion, and complete shock. Jason scoffs and grabs your wrist. “Let’s go."
“Jason, please. Can we at least talk?” Batman reaches out to grab you again. In a blink of an eye, Jason pulls out his gun.
There’s a suffocating moment of silence.
Neither party made a single move.
Despite your utter horror, the conflicted thoughts, and denials running through your head, there’s no doubt anymore that what happened with those goons is true - your dad had shot and killed them.
“Talk? Talk?! I said, we were done talking. I guess I didn’t make myself clear enough.” His finger begins to press down on the trigger. Your eyes blow wide, you shout. “Dad! Don’t-”
A gunshot never rang out. Batman kicked the gun out of his hand. He simultaneously grabs your arm and pulls you behind him. Robin, with a throbbing headache, stands up. “Robin! Take Scarlet away from here!” Red Hood growls and tries to bring his other gun out but Batman punches that one out too. Robin nods and grabs your arm. “Hey - wait!”
With both of his weapons out of reach, Jason takes to using his fist and goes straight for his nose. Batman catches it and punishes him by striking him twice in the abdomen before kicking him and sending him across the rooftop.
"Come on, let's get you out of here!" Robin is tugging at your arm, but you kept yourself planted. "No! I'm not leaving without my dad!"
Batman walks over. Jason lifts himself up, giving Batman the deadliest glares you’ve ever seen from him. Bruce says nothing and raises his fist at him, ready to land another punch.
"Stop!"
You ran between the two.
Batman halts. You stand there with your arms wide using your entire body to shield your father. "Don't hurt him!"
Batman lowers his fist and stands straight. "You don't understand. What you're doing.. it's not right." You glared at him. "So what?" Batman's gaze hardens. "You can get hurt or worse. Not to mention, where you live is just as unsafe." He kneels down to your eye-level. "If you live with me, with us, we can give you a better home, get you into a better school." He places a hand on your shoulder. Jason tenses up. "Become a family." You held your gaze with him. You didn't move from your spot nor let your arms down despite them beginning to ache. "I already have a family. It's him!" Batman goes silent. Robin grits his teeth. "Don't you get it? You'll die living like this!" "So what!" You snapped. "I rather die right beside my dad than leave him behind!" You hear a groan behind you and turn around. Your dad was struggling to get up, grunting as he held his stomach. You rush to his side, catching him when he falls. Batman steps to you, calling your name as he reaches a hand to you. "No!" You yell, clutching your dad harder, glaring harder at the Dark Knight. "You aren't taking me from him! I'm staying right here and if you try, you'll have to kill me to do it!" Batman stops. You were glued to Jason's side, standing next to him so defensively, ready to put up a fight. Robin was growing impatient and stomped his way to you. "You will come with us, whether you like it or no-" "Stop." Batman halts his son. Before Robin could argue, he turns away from you two, walking to the edge of the roof. "We're leaving." "But-" Batman narrows his eyes. Robin glances at Jason, then you. He holds his gaze with you, clutching his fists, before forcing himself to follow his father. The duo hop off from the roof, disappearing into the night. As if on cue, thunder rumbles across the sky, a heavy downpour following after.
You turn to your dad. He tries to get up again, this time, you help him by wrapping his arm around your shoulder and standing up. "Are you okay?" Jason groans. "I'll be fine. Are you alright?" You chuckle. "I'm alright. But we should get home." You say, then carefully guided him to the rooftop edge.
