This was stupid.

She knew it was stupid.

That didn’t stop her from raising a fist, and knocking on the door.

She stood there, waiting, for about 30 seconds before she shook her head, adjusted her gym bag and started to walk down the hall cursing to herself. That was when the door opened.

“Oi, Musa!” Riven’s voice called, causing the mind fairy to freeze where she stood, “Please tell me you’re not playing Nicky Nicky Ninedoors in the Specialist’s quarters.”

She turned around sheepishly, “No, actually something a lot dumber.”

There was some preamble I forget, but may have concerned food desert minority communities and-or ethnic markets.

There was a haunted house in my town, from which a fearsome, unnatural storm was emanating.

For whatever reason, my brother, cousin and I excitedly RAN UP A HILL - climbed, virtually, to see it. We approached this derelict building, as hard winds blew, lightning flashed, and monstrously dark clouds swirled overhead.

I approached the door the door and one of us said "we're about to play Dong-Dong-Ditch with the devil" which is weird because we call it Nicky-Nicky-Ninedoors here.

Then, from inside this vlearly abandoned building, with the column of storm issuing from it, I heard a voice clearly, closely, and irritatedly (maybe painedly) snap, "Leave me alone!"

Satisfied, we hurrried away in fear and I woke up.

Last night a bunch of annoying little rats thought it’d be fun to play nicky ninedoors by knocking on our front windows. We called the cops and it was ???? if they actually did anything (we didn’t get them knocking on our windows or doors anymore so I guess?) But, my dad is throwing a hissyfit now because he hates it here and wants to move over it. We’ll he’s free to move out if he fucking wants but no one else should be required to move because he doesn’t like it here.
