This is the special day when our beloved Prophet, the embodiment of light, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), was taken by Allah Almighty on a miraculous night journey, while fully awake in both body and soul, from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and then ascended through seven heavens to the divine throne. Night Journey

Night Journey by Frank Bowling (1969-70) is one of the most captivating abstract paintings because the author employs different visual senses to create the piece. The lines in the painting are subtle and indistinguishable, but from a closer observation, it can be noted that they outline two continents, South America and Africa. The lines blend into the surrounding colors because they are not sharply delineated, creating a sense of movement and fluidity. A rich color palette is used, and dark shades of red, yellow, and blue are added later onto the canvas. The colors create a moody and luminous atmosphere, and the yellow seemingly illustrates a middle passage in the Atlantic. The pouring technique helps create texture by ensuring the surface appears smooth and varied. A stained effect is also achieved by using diluted paint to make the layers, adding to the piece's complexity.

While observing the painting, I noticed that it demonstrates vastness. The continents are illustrated as floating in an undefined space that symbolizes the vastness and isolation of the ocean. Good Morning from Chandigarh: A Journey of Firsts

After a long and quiet night journey with my dad from Hanumangarh to Chandigarh, I’ve finally made it here. It’s my first time in this city, and it’s already giving me all kinds of new experiences. We were dropped off at the beautiful Sohana Gurudwara. What a way to start the day—surrounded by peaceful, religious vibes and the serene scenery of the gurudwara. The atmosphere felt calming, like the universe telling me this trip will be special.

From there, I hopped into an Uber to Chandigarh railway station, then caught a train to Kurukshetra. As soon as I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Satpal Ji, who had arranged everything. The hospitality was just what I needed after a long journey. We had a delicious breakfast that felt like home.

Afterward, we set off to explore Kurukshetra. The city is rich with history, and every corner has a story to tell. I can’t wait to see more of it and soak in everything this trip has to offer.
