Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Fatima Sana replaces Nida Dar as Pakistan skipper; Sadaf Shamas makes 15 member squad
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Sunday announced the squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in UAE from October 3-20 and has named 22-year-old Fatima Sana as its captain. Fatima will replace Nida Dar as the skipper. The 37-year-old Nida is going through a lean patch and the team under her suffered T20I and ODI series defeats in England before making a semi-final exit in the Women’s Asia…

[ad_1] Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine. Source (ICC X)   One, two, three, four, five, six and seven. No, we aren’t in the business of counting numbers. In a nutshell, that is just the number of catches dropped by Pakistan in their all-important Women’s T20 World Cup game versus New Zealand, played at the Dubai International Stadium. On expected lines, those fluffed chances proved to be costly as New Zealand usurped Pakistan by 54 runs and qualified for the semi-finals. With Pakistan slipping to a loss, India’s campaign also came to an end.  Sadia Iqbal, Omaima Sohail, Nashra Sandhu, Nida Dar and Syeda Aroob Shah bowled incisively, extracting a fair amount of side-spin. Unfortunately, their fielders couldn’t hold onto the catches. In the sixth over itself, Suzie Bates was dropped by Nashra off Omaima. A couple of overs later, Omaima herself dropped a catch off her own bowling. Amelia Kerr was the one who got the reprieve. Some overs later, Nida was at the receiving end of all those grassed chances, with Sidra Amin dropping one. Incredibly, three more easy opportunities were not taken in the final over. Nida was once more the unlucky bowler. The anguish on her face said it all. In between, Nashra herself saw a catch go down off her bowling.  For New Zealand, Bates top-scored with 28. It was her opening stand of 41 with Georgia Plimmer that laid the platform for the win. Brooke Halliday’s 24-ball 22 and Sophie Devine’s 25-ball 19 also turned out to be handy contributions. Amelia and Eden Carson, the spin duo, then took five wickets between them. The seamers and Fran Jones also chipped in with wickets. On a very slow pitch, it was always going to be a challenging task for Pakistan. Their batters tried to score quickly with an eye on NRR, resulting in regular fall of wickets. Fatima Sana (21), the skipper, was the only Pakistan batter who was able to negotiate the conditions with a degree of confidence. She was the ninth batter dismissed. Soon, Pakistan were bundled out in the 12th over. Brief Scores: New Zealand 110/6 in 20 overs (Suzie Bates 28; Nashra Sandhu 3-18) beat Pakistan 56 in 11.4 overs (Fatima Sana 21; Amelia Kerr 3-14) by 54 runs.   The post New Zealand reach semis, India knocked out appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports. October 6, 2024
Again, haven't written in a while. It's been just over a month, and also somewhat confusingly, i'm switching between this account and the other so the lapses in between entries look larger than they really are.
things feel better.
september i think was pretty good. i started making more relationships with people and work and have even started new "rounds", hitting up kiana, ahn, sook when she's there, michael c, fatima, and if she's there, brianne. i played pickleball about once a week, and for a couple consecutive fridays played at the la canada court.
for my birthday on the day itself (saturday), i met up with danielle and snicks at the hike behind jpl and we went for about a 2 hour walk, there and back, and snicks got to splash happily in the water, and it warmed my heart. afterward we had tacos and a strong margarita at home state like we'd done before, and my heart felt full. then i went home, cleaned some, and met up with some friends at ERB. matt k picked up me and jeanine, and we met tracy, ash, amy l, and later caroline, ahn, and much later, amir. we had nice chats and once people started going home, ahn, amy l, matt k, jb and i walked over to pizzanista and indulged in some delicious pizza before heading back. i had made sure the have like an aspirin before and hydrate so i didn't wake up with a hangover, fortunately.
portland was good. a lot of heavy food, walking around the neighborhoods which were weirdly empty, and a nice hike in a very green forest. oh also we went to mt rainier for a day and it was gorgeous. white-topped mountains (hard to tell if it was snow), trees, and little beautiful, clear lakes everywhere. the air smelled wonderful.
i was pretty upset and disappointed though, when i didn't get a call/text from nida and lorena. these are some of my favorite people and with whom i've had some of the most intense friendships with, and i felt abandoned and forgotten, and i had to keep reminding myself of the people who did remember, and who did come out, and not dwell on those who didn't. nida ended up calling me later, and left an apologetic voicemail, which eventually led to some passive-aggressive, long-repressed anger and hurt-filled texts, and finally an hour long crying conversation (obviously only me crying) in which we kind of resolved to try and keep in better touch and we have been since, and i felt this wonderful sense of peace and calm, like all of the resentment was gone and suddenly i had some peace and was able to not take it very personally that people had busy lives in which i could get displaced/forgotten for stretches.
i went to church this morning (where i cried, per uj), and will be going to conan's first birthday later this afternoon, at 5, at m grill, an ayce brazilian bbq, in koreatown. i'll be seeing some old faces: grace y, sue h, and vicky. i have some mixed feelings about vicky especially, but we'll see. caroline has been pretty persistent in me making up with her, saying she genuinely cares about me, and that was not a common thing to find in this world, and that she seems to have changed, matured, and gotten wiser, so i should hear her out and try to work things out. we'll see.
i'm resolving to journal more (yet again). i don't know why i'm so resistant to things that i know are good for me: journaling, reading, walking while listening to The Read. it's strange. i keep doing the things that suck my soul and rot my brain and body. must keep this momentum going.

A Review of ‘Polite Society’ (2023)
Tumblr media
Polite Society (2023) is a hilarious and heartwarming action comedy that entertained me for its entire duration. The film follows Ria Khan, a British-Pakistani teenager who dreams of becoming a professional stuntwoman. But she faces obstacles from her traditional family and society. When her older sister Lena decides to marry a wealthy and mysterious man, Ria suspects foul play and tries to stop the wedding with the help of her friends. Along the way, she learns more about herself, her sister, and her culture. The film was written and directed by Nida Manzoor, who made her feature film debut with this project. She does fantastic work with creating a vibrant and authentic world of British-Pakistani culture, with witty dialogue, colorful characters, and stunning visuals. The film also had a great soundtrack by Tom Howe and Shez Manzoor, featuring original songs and remixes of classic Bollywood tunes. The film was inspired by Manzoor’s personal experiences as a British-Pakistani woman who grew up loving action movies and martial arts. She wanted to make a film that represented her culture and identity in a positive and fun way.
The cast is enjoyable to watch! Especially Priya Kansara as Ria and Ritu Arya as Lena. They had great chemistry as sisters who love each other but have different views on life. Kansara was charming and charismatic as Ria. She is fearless, rebellious, and passionate about martial arts. She also performed most of her stunts, which is impressive and thrilling. She has trained with professional stunt coordinators and martial artists over a few months to prepare for the role. Arya is equally brilliant as Lena, who is astute, elegant, and independent. She showed a lot of depth and emotion as she struggled with her identity and choices. She also had a beautiful singing voice that she showcased in one of the musical scenes.
The film also had a lot of humor and heart, thanks to the supporting cast of Ria’s friends and family. Nimra Bucha was hilarious as Raheela, the snooty leader of the Pakistani mothers’ club who tries to set up Lena with her son Salim, played by Akshay Khanna. Salim is a complex and intriguing character with a dark past and a hidden agenda. He was also charming and handsome, making Lena fall for him despite Ria’s warnings. Khanna brought a lot of nuance and charisma to the role. Seraphina Beh and Ella Bruccoleri are adorable as Clara and Alba, Ria’s loyal and quirky friends, collaborate with her schemes. They were both funny and sweet, providing comic relief and emotional support to Ria.
Shona Babayemi is fierce as Kovacs, Ria’s rival at school. She is intimidating and badass but also has a soft side Ria discovers later in the story. Babayemi showed off her skills in boxing and taekwondo in the fight scenes. Shobu Kapoor and Jeff Mirza are endearing as Fatima and Rafe, Ria’s parents, who want the best for their daughters but don’t understand their dreams. They were both loving and strict, trying to balance their traditional values with their modern lives. Kapoor and Mirza had great chemistry as a married couple who bickered but cared for each other.
Polite Society is a fun and refreshing film celebrating sisterhood, diversity, and empowerment. It has a lot of action, comedy, drama, romance, and music making it an enjoyable and entertaining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys original, creative, and uplifting movies.

Inspiring Books for Female Entrepreneurs You Need to Know in 2021
Tumblr media
In the last century, women have made an immense effort to be present on the map of success when it comes to entrepreneurship. They have a big influence, but they can do a lot more. Women have a higher success rate in the business, but they take less risk.
Women-owned and led businesses are a better bet for investors, but a lack of venture capitalists indicates that they still struggle to raise the funds they need, according to statistics on female entrepreneurs.
Famous people also believe that the way we view entrepreneurs needs to improve. They say we shouldn't think of CEOs as men or women, but rather as individuals who are good or bad at what they do.
When the world understands this concept, the world of entrepreneurship will become a better place for both men and women.
That's why I enjoy reading motivational business books written by women who have created successful companies and aren't afraid to admit their mistakes. You will learn a lot from other people's experiences and even be inspired by their accomplishments.
To help and motivate females I am sharing some inspiring books for the female entrepreneurs that every female needs to read and these books are sure to relight that fire.
DEAR FEMALE FOUNDER-LU LI
Dear Female Founder is a series of 66 letters from women entrepreneurs who have produced $1 billion in revenue, detailing their entire entrepreneurial journey, including emotional highs and lows, but most importantly, a true and inspiring tale.
The dear female founder is a one-of-a-kind collection of words of motivation, wisdom, and practical advice from successful female entrepreneurs. If you're a young female entrepreneur or an intrapreneur working for a larger corporation, the insightful advice will help you succeed and inspire you. If you're thinking about starting a business or want to inspire the next generation, I strongly suggest you read this book.
HOW TO BE AN OVERNIGHT SUCCESS – MARIA HATZISTEFANIS
Rodial's cult snake serum was quickly labeled an "overnight success" by the press when it was first released. Rodial's creator Maria Hatzistefanis, on the other hand, had been toiling away in her bedroom for 18 years, creating the business from scratch. Now, in this very open novel, the beauty boss sets out to show how its success was built on sheer hard work, tireless efforts, and a lot of patience.
Fashionistas Maria set out with the goal of starting a beauty company, despite failing to succeed in school and being fired from her first job. She achieved her goals by dreaming big, working hard, surrounding herself with the brightest, taking chances, generating buzz, and building a following.
She accomplished this by dreaming big, working hard, surrounding herself with the brightest, taking chances, generating hype, and developing her own personal brand, which is now favored by high-profile models and media personalities such as Poppy Delevingne, Daisy Lowe, and Kylie Jenner. Maria shares some of her most valuable lessons in this book and emphasizes the importance of patience.
GIRL ON FIRE – CARA LEYBA
Girl on Fire, by the best-selling author of Girl Code, teaches you how to start living the life you want without asking anyone else's permission. You'll be motivated to overcome any obstacles in your industry if you support women who create their own opportunities.
This book is for any woman who has had a vision that others might not be able to comprehend. It's for any woman who's had enough of following the rules. It's for every woman who has always felt she was meant for more but has waited far too long for the approval she thought she deserved.
This is one of mine favourite quote from the book “Successful entrepreneurs don't wait for their "big break" —they create it. They don't wait to be featured in a magazine, or picked up by a publisher, or given a chance to speak on a stage. They promote themselves on platforms they create, they self-publish their own books, they launch their own podcasts, they create their own events, and build their own stages.”
IN THE COMPANY OF WOMEN – GRACE BONNEY
Women are adopting the entrepreneurial spirit and launching innovative companies all over the world. Over 100 of these powerful and talented women from all ages, races, cultures, and professions are profiled in In the Company of Women. These interviews detail the keys to success (for example, going with your gut; maintaining meaningful and long-term relationships), highlight the importance of daily rituals (meditating; creating a daily to-do list), and provide advice for the next generation of female entrepreneurs and makers (stay true to what you believe in; have patience).
WOMEN WHO LAUNCH: THE WOMEN WHO SHATTERED GLASS CEILINGS – MARLENE WAGMAN-GELLER
Women Who Launch is a history of women in business and one of the most inspirational books for female entrepreneurs. You'll be inspired by the true stories of women who have experienced enduring success, such as Estee Lauder and Julia Ward-Howe, who are profiled in this book.
STRONG WOMAN: THE TRUTH ABOUT GETTING TO THE TOP – KARREN BRADY
Karren Brady, one of my biggest inspirations, who has overcome the odds. Karren went on to become Vice-Chairwoman of West Ham United after doctors told her she had a brain aneurysm following a regular examination and that she needed an operation with a 30% risk of not surviving. This is a great one for all you mumpreneurs who are juggling a family and a company.
SHE SPEAKS: THE POWER OF WOMEN’S VOICES – YVETTE COOPER
This is the book to read if you're looking for ideas for public speaking. You can't help but feel inspired when you see incredible speeches given by women throughout history. She Speaks features speeches by everyone from Boudica to Greta Thunberg, so there's bound to be one that speaks to you.
THE FEMALE LEAD: WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD – EDWINA DUNN AND BRIGITTE LACOMBE
The Female Lead is the story of 60 inspiring women from all walks of life who will inspire you to take control of your business. You'll be able to see what women who are unapologetically ambitious can do by looking at profiles of everyone from firefighters to movie stars.
IN MY SHOES – TAMARA MELLON
Tamara Mellon, co-founder of the famous Jimmy Choo, discusses how she became one of Britain's most influential self-made businesswomen. Fashionistas and entrepreneurs will love this book. In My Shoes is a candid look at the highs and lows of establishing a profitable brand.
LEAN IN: WOMEN, WORK AND THE WILL TO LEAD – SHERYL SANDBERG
Sheryl Sandberg, the Facebook COO and one of Fortune magazine's Most Powerful Women in Business, understands what it takes to be a woman with ambition. You'll learn what little improvements you can make to hit the top, based on her own experience working in some of the most profitable companies.

Hamas-linked, UAE-terror listed CAIR projects 57 Muslims won seats in November 2020 elections
Scroll down for details. If any of these candidates have not distanced themselves from CAIR, citizens should be very concerned and monitor their actions and associations carefully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jetpac, CAIR, MPower Change Release Preliminary Snapshot of American Muslim Candidates in 2020 Election Cycle
A record 110 candidates who identify as Muslim were on ballot across the 24 states on November 3rd with more than half projected to win (WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/6/20)
Snapshot: 110 candidates were on 2020 general election ballots across 24 states and Washington D.C., which is the highest number since the 3 organizations started mapping the electoral progress of politicians who identify as Muslim.
... Fifty-seven of the one hundred and ten candidates on November 3, 2020 ballots won or are projected to win their elections. At least seven made representation history.
In Delaware, Madinah Wilson-Anton will be the first practicing Muslim lawmaker to serve in the state’s General Assembly and the first Muslim to hold the local state House seat when she is inaugurated as the State Representative for the 26th District.
In Wisconsin, Samba Baldeh became first the Muslim elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, and the first Black man to represent Dane County in the legislature.
Christopher Benjamin won the race to represent the 107th District in the Florida House of Representatives, becoming the first Muslim American elected to any state office in the Sunshine State.
Nafisa Fai became the first Muslim and first Black commissioner in Washington County history when she won her race to represent District 1 in Oregon.
Iman Jodeh, the State Representative-elect for the 41st District in the Colorado House of Representatives, will be the first Muslim lawmaker in the state’s history.
Fady Qaddoura became the first Muslim to win an election to the Indiana State Legislature when he won the race for the 30th District in the State Senate.
Mauree Turner, the State Representative-elect for the Oklahoma 88th District, will be the first Muslim lawmaker elected to the state’s legislature.
Below is a preliminary summary of Muslim electoral results from November 3, 2020:
18 ran in California, 16 in Michigan, 14 in Minnesota, and 18 in New Jersey.
8 were on the ballot for U.S. House of Representatives in 7 states, including incumbents Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Andre Carson who all won reelection. Mike Siegel lost a close race to represent the 10th Congressional District in Texas.
29 ran for municipal seats in 6 states with 12 declared winners or are projected to win.
29 ran for state legislature seats in 18 states with 20 winning.
9 ran for county seats in 8 states; 6 won. 28 ran for school committee or board positions in 5 states with 12 winning.
5 ran for judiciary positions with 4 winning.
Jetpac, CAIR, and MPower plan to release a list of all 2020 local, primary, and general election candidates who publicly identify as Muslim after general election results have been certified. Some one hundred and seventy candidates who publicly identify as Muslim ran in all of 2020, which is almost thirty more than the previous high of one hundred and thirty-four candidates running in 2018.
---------------END CAIR PRESS RELEASE--------------------------------
If terror-linked CAIR’s projections hold, there are some notable wins and some big losses.
That said, the specter of voter fraud should be analyzed carefully in many of these races, particularly where there are large Muslim populations. One Muslim whistleblower in Minnesota explains in this video:
Notable Losses:
Deedra Abboud - AZ - CAIR/MSA executive who bailed out Muslim who was later killed waging jihad on Americans in Texas
Shahid Buttar - CA - radical Pakistani immigrant and self-avowed socialist
Ammar Campa-Najjar aka Ammar Yasser Najjar - not on CAIR’s list but definitely would have joined the Hamas Squad - background via California: Grandson of Islamic Terrorist Wins Democratic Primary Election
Fatima Iqbal-Zubair - CA - Dubai-born, far-left Sunrise Movement-linked radical
Imtiaz Mohammad - FL - serial candidate who has run for 3 seats in Florida this year alone
Azam Nizamuddin - IL - counsel for Hamas-linked NAIC designated by the DOJ as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist financing case in America history, and is still an executive at one of the group’s subsidiaries; details here

AĞLAYARAK OKUDUM😭😭
Hz.Fatima Annemiz Vefat'ına Yakın bir gün, Allah'ın galip Arslanı Hz Ali R.A. Kerremallahu veche, Hz.
Ayrılıktan aşağı her şey kolaydır.
Kağıtta hasan ve Hüseyin'i sana emanet ediyorum yazılıdır.
Amiin.
