Mother, did you walk
The day you saw
Darkness in dad
Or did you wait
The night til dawn
Betting on black
Sleeping on the severity
Scaring me
Deciding you weren’t coming back
And I know I might be dying
But at least I’m not here lying
Saying baby you’ll be fine
He just needs a little time
Watch your words
Keep your silence
Don’t worry baby
He just loves with violence
Fists up kid, don’t cower behind your mom
And maybe the jokes on me
Maybe I was really the dead one all along
But now, mom
There’s this girl
And even though you cut me loose
Mom, I swear you’d love her too
And now my dream is that forever
Is just one more morning we share
And maybe if I make it
That's the only mourning we’ll have to bear

Losing Sam, by Nicole Maser🖤
Jess Miller is a focused, driven high school senior whose only goal is to get into the strict Christian college that her late mother attended. But when another student gets picked for early admission instead of her, she can see her dream slipping away.
With only two months left until winter break, Jess gets one final chance to prove herself to the board of admissions by doing a volunteer project at the local rehab center. Although it'll just be one more thing to add on top of her already packed academic and athletic schedule, she's determined to make it work and secure her spot at Trinity University.
That is, until she meets Sam, the charismatic and mysterious girl she's forced to volunteer with every day.
With time running out, and everything on the line, Jess must finally confront her inner demons and choose between what she's always known, and what her heart truly wants. And she has to do it before it's too late.

As a rabid zombie fan - Walking Dead, World War Z, etc. - I LOVE THIS.
Also, if you like zombies, I suggest the Apocalypse Z series Manel Loueiro. Excellent books by a Spanish author. They're in Spanish (obvs) but have also been translated into English and a few other languages. It's one of the best series I've read. Also, Hearing Red by Nicole Maser. It's zombies. It's lesbian. It's got a blind protagonist. Seriously - it's such a good book!
Zombie setting where the undead are drawn towards unhygienic scents, so survivors constantly bathe to avoid being eaten.
Zombies are docile when adorned with flowers.
Settlements overgrown with herbs and flora.
Barely any banditry; everyone is focused on farming and gathering.
Different human factions and towns named after flowers like Lilies, Orchids, Roses, etc.
Instead of immediately killing an infected survivor, they’re given special funeral rites - the zombie is covered with flowers to keep them calm, and allowed to walk out from the settlement to join the hordes.

Fandom Folks to Get to Know Better
Tagged by @mandalorianfleshenjoyer & @acliptika :D
3 Ships I like: just THREE??? Nope not possible for a multi-shipper lolll. My brain is constantly screaming about GriddleHark (and various fun remixes thereof), CaitVi (also, CaitViMEL, hello???), and a huge pile of ships with my beloved Sabine <3 <3
First Ship Ever: mm....I can't remember my first. But it was WolfWren that pulled me back onto Tumblr last year!
Last Song You’ve Heard: What Have They Done to Us (from my constant replays of the Arcane soundtrack)
Favorite Childhood Book: The Rowan of Rin series by Emily Rodda (in which an anxious, ostracized, & clearly autistic kid saves everyone. Repeatedly. With his unique skills. Wow, wonder why I loved it so much...)
Currently Reading: "Finding Jess" by Nicole Maser, and in my constant replay of the Locked Tomb audiobooks I'm at the end of Gideon the Ninth (again)
Currently Watching: Re-watching Andor to prepare for Season 2 YAY, and also re-watching Ms. Marvel for the lols
Currently Consuming: Nothing- last thing was a bit of lemon cake :D
Currently Craving: a really good night's sleep (*knock on wood*)
no pressure tags: I'm not sure who hasn't been tagged yet, but- @halepo @femmefighter @notallthoseinheadspace @welcometocaritas

I’m not really a bookworm so any recommendations would be appreciated
Easy reads then? Urm
Losing sam by nicole maser
The killing eve series is actually better than the program i think
Oldies by goodies and better than the films - a fault in our stars/paper towns and perks of being a wallflower
Criers war by nina varela is an easy read fantasy book
I’ve been reading a lot of girl on girl romance this year so my entire library is pretty much that at the moment so if you’re into them i have loads of recs

thanks for tagging me @iilines!!
going to have to check out Dykes to Watch Out For because that seems super interesting :)
last song: All These Things That I've Done by The Killers-- my amazon music equivalent of spotify wrapped came back and this was one of my top songs (not at all shocking) and I just listened to it while picking up food
favorite color: green I think, when I was little it was red but red was also my cousin's favorite and I didn't want to copy it so I changed it. I have trouble picking because I like all colors in different ways
last book: I think it was Hearing Red by Nicole Maser. Super good would recommend if you're into zombies and lesbians. I read it cuz I saw someone say it was similar to Charon Docks at Daylight (a book that is tied with GtN as my favorite) by Z.R. Reed so I had to try it out. I haven't done much reading since the summer cuz of schoolwork tho 😓
last movie: Wicked, I saw it in theaters with my sisters and I was shocked by how gay it was?? also I was pleasantly surprised that Bowen Yang was in it I love him. very good and funny watch.
last tv show: Arcane ofc <333
sweet/savory/spicy: I am a big savory person, I do not handle spice well and I don't like sweet stuff in large quantities.
relationship status: my two year anniversary with my girlfriend is coming up in less than a month!!!
last thing I googled: I was on the phone with my grandma and she was in a store looking at a stuffed animal (a pomeranian jellycat) and I looked it up to see what she was talking about
current obsession: I suppose arcane but I can feel the griddlehark hyperfixation creeping in again
looking forward to: being done with finals so I can actually see my girlfriend again 🥲
I will tag all of my other mutuals cuz there is only three lol, if you get tagged and do not feel like posting for this it is totally no worries :)
@griddlebait @jodarielsbicep @elfieafterdark
“people i’d like to know better” - tag game
aaaaa!!! thank you for the tag🥺 @goyangi
last song: the town by junha park
favorite color: all the colors in nature!! but if i had to give one answer, it’s soft shades of purple these days
last book: i.. am ashamed to say this.. but it’s been a few months since i last read something. kind of in a reading slump that i’m trying to break right now. buut the answer is ‘the star seekers’ if it counts? i dropped but i will restart. before that one it was ‘seven days in june by tia williams’ (note: it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t really for me.. wouldn’t recommend) (note2 to @.goyangi : i read almond too and it's so good🥺)
last movie: kabahat (2022, dir. ümran softer) (it’s a turkish movie, the english name is “guilt” apparently. wasn’t bad but wasn’t too good but i really liked the main girl sooo)
last tv show: mr. plankton (note to you @.goyangi again ㅠ : OMG I’M WATCHING mr. plankton too and i’m on ep 5 right now...,,... why are you scared to watch should i be scared too ㅠ)
sweet/spicy/savory: ALL OF THEM... but i don’t like way too sweet things
relationship status: ...in a parasocial relationship with 5 boys from korea..? lol jkjk. single! but i’m in love with so many things in secret
last thing i googled: i searched for a coffee brand hahshah it’s “addis ababa coffee”
current obsession: ummm tomorrow x together..? it’s not current tho xD... nothing else i think ><
looking forward to: soobin’s returning with a completly rested and healed body and mind and better treatment and support for all of the boys. xD ah, besides from that? i’m waiting for a few things i ordered to arrive. (one of them is coming within this week buuut it’s not certain that if i will receive the other within this week too. i’m praying to get both of them at the same time so i can die in happiness)
no pressure tags if you you’d like to do it!! @squirrel-in-the-woods

a slow burn sapphic novel🖤 Losing Sam, by Nicole Maser. Out now on Amazon!
“You know, you have no idea how lucky you are,” she said, her voice trembling. “You get to hate me because I’m the one who fucked us up.” She swallowed the lump in her throat as more tears streamed down her face. “I know it’s dumb, but I wish you’d done something horrible to me. Because then at least I’d get to hate you instead of hating myself.”
Speaking those words aloud felt like lifting one of one hundred weights from her chest.
“I don’t hate you,” Sam whispered. “I’m just ready to move on.”
Jess tilted her head back, a light laugh escaping her lips. “For some reason, that’s even worse.”
