FABULIST FILES, 1/? — ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN

Fable's AO3 tag currently contains 5,842 fics. The tag was most active from early 2020 to early 2021, when Haksu and Eunsu were engaging in constant fanservice with no heterosexual explanation, to the delight of permanently online Fabulists everywhere. They (mostly Haksu) continue to be among the most popular within the tag.

As expected, Haksu features as the most popular character and makes an appearances in half of the most popular ships. Other somewhat frequent character appearances include Eden of Neon Nights, usually as Andrew's friend, and Field Day's Dart, usually as Byeonghwi's friend. The most popular alternate universe fics set the group in college/university, given the fact that most of them actually attended university. Like many other fourth gen boy groups, they also have more than their fair share of explicit fics.

NOTABLE FANFICS

The fanfiction with the most kudos is "TIME OF MY (YOUR) LIFE," written by nhys and published over the course of 2022. It gained popularity for its characterization of the Fable members and sense of humor, and for the author's constant promotion of it on Twitter. It spawned a few spin-offs and sequels by the original author and a few others, detailing events of the other years of Byeonghwi's college experience.

One of the most popular fanfics is heartsick's "BETWEEN US," published from mid-2020 to mid-2021. In many online Fabulist circles, it's considered to be one of The (with a capital T) Fable fics. Written and published during 2su's heyday, it continues to be a staple on fic recommendation lists, even if newer fans don't really know who Eunsu is.

Generally considered to be the first Fable fanfiction ever, "TAKE CARE OF THAT SWEET TOOTH" was published on September 23, 2018, a little over a month after the group debuted. Although mostly denounced by the original author as an obvious mischaracterization a few years later, it remains notable for kickstarting the tag.

im not sure what to make of it except for that HNY is the uber popular bands and NYH is the most common because of course it is. but i dont really know where NHY and YNH fit in to this. also so far there is no YHN or HYN but i expect them to be more common for like popular music that isnt really listened to on tumblr, like i think Skid row is one of those. its a little confusing to conceptualize but ya

The tentacles we're around the corner and it has already scratched into her zero suit but not her skin, she was terrified with tears forming in her eyes her forearm laid atop her big pregnant belly and she gripped her gun tightly as her water drips down slowly while the timer ticks down closer to her labor and she shallowly pants and made a quick decision and ran to the empty and old rooms but the contraction stopped her mid way and the tentacle tried grapplig but she shot it while slowly waddling over to the room and is cautious enough to lock the door behind her but the pain burns throughout and keep her on all fours crawling around and found a cloth to bite.

She endured the heavy pain as the head scraps her entrance she presses her hands onto her taut belly and pull her head back grunting is so much pain and she stays in the corner for only one hour and left a puddle of sweat and tears in the corner and creeps to the other door while completely bent over with a bulging head but the pain struck and she fell to her knees letting go of the cloth, "nnnggaaaa, hngaaaghhh, hrrgh. grrghh- haah haah nggrrhh, GAAAAAHHHHH!" And the baby forced itself out and the suit being a naturally tightening suit it began squeezing it out and she had her hands on her belly looking down, dripping sweat and slowly getting up and while bent over creeps up to the door and gets through and seeing the robot she gruntily runs across, "Nggnhh, hrrnnngghh, houghhh, aughh, aghh, ughhh, unghhh nungghhh" She hid behind a counter and held her gun up digging her nails into her belly as the baby inches forward was strecthing her suit and slightly tore it open.

"Urghh, Arghh" She couldn't resist anymore "Ha- Hoouh Nggnnhhh, Nrggnnhhh" And she pushed through the suit and forced her head against the counter "Aoughhh, Okay not n- Nhy- Mnggmm" And they baby gushed through and puddling all over we're fluids as Samus got onto her knees looking over the counter and aimed at the bot shooting it's head while holding onto her baby's head a contraction hit and winced "Hagh, Hrgh, Hrnngghh, GAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!" And she had pushed with all her might and the baby came falling out and she quickly caught the little girl and cradled her into her arms revealing her nip for the baby to feed as she gasps shallowly and gets to finish the mission eventually and she denied all medical attention and wanted to nap.
