things im noticing as i rewatch bnha, an ongoing thread:

SEASON 1

- deku really was such a nerd lmao he's just like me fr (like i KNEW but i didn't remember how much i could relate to it. oops.)

- it's also interesting that he always fights back against bakugo and calls him an idiot a lot. idk why (probably because of fandom characterization) i remembered early-seasons deku as a lot more innocent and scared of bakugo. like, here's the thing, deku is scared of pretty much everything at the start because he's shy/anxious. he gets nervous talking to most of his classmates (especially, but not only, girls) when he first meets them and starts trembling when he gets elected as class president before handing the role to iida. so basically, his anxiety isn't reserved to bakugo like i remembered – if anything, he seems to get over his fear of getting bullied by him pretty quickly once he realizes he can fight back.

- kaminari tried to ask uraraka out in their first or second day of school and she was like "uhhh i like to eat... uhh... WAIT DEKU CAME BACK FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE" lol i really didn't remember that

- bakugo's insecurity was always there. as you're reading this you might be thinking i first watched mha with my eyes closed or sth, and you're not very far from the truth. here's the thing, i first watched it when i was like 14-15, so all i knew back then was that bakugo was insufferable and i didn't think further than that. of course, he ended up becoming one of my favorite bnha characters after reading all of the manga, but it's cool to realize his character arc was foreshadowed from the beginning and didn't just magically start around season 3.

- but yeah, anyway, bakugo's insecurity and his envy over deku's natural noble nature was always there, since season 1. also, deku's real admiration over bakugo was also there. like, going back to my other point, deku wasn't just Not Overly Scared of bakugo, he actually looked up to him despite knowing he was deeply flawed. tbh they were always a bit crazy about each other.

- uraraka is so funny i love her.

- all of class 1A was so chaotic good coded

- like they collectively made fun of bakugo on the bus to USJ for being rude lol. they really bonded over their shared dislike for the guy.

- bakugo gets fucking HUMBLED all of s1. i would also be irrationally angry ngl.

- the dialogues in the first season sometimes are so unnatural for the sake of exposition, like all might telling recovery girl: "do you mind not talking so loudly ab OFA? only you, a close friend, the principal, and midoriya know about OFA. but most professors and some pro heroes also know about my condition and not being able to fight for more than 3 hours a day" like WHO TALKS LIKE THAT ??!1?1?

- deku had to go to recovery girl's office a total of 4 times (if i counted correctly) for broken limbs of fingers in HIS FIRST WEEK of school. which is funnier considering no one else from class 1A had to go even once.

- damn shigaraki was a skinny legend before he got OP

- aizawa did not react at all when he first saw kurogiri (about the shirakumo thing). that was surprising.

- also. AIZAWA IS SO BADASS?? like yes i knew he was badass from the later seasons, but i genuinely didn't remember his first fighting sequence at USJ where he single-handedly fights like at least 20 villains.

- i had also forgotten that shigaraki calls eraserhead "really cool" so early on in the anime, i thought it was a later-seasons thing.

- this is really obvious but i had forgotten the all might theme's resemblance to superman's theme. it's such a cool little detail tho!

- uraraka and deku definitely were crushing on each other when they first met, but i think it's nice that they ended up developing a really strong friendship instead of getting together after hori didn't consistently develop them romantically. it also makes a lot more sense narratively, like why would we care who deku ends up with at the end of his first year of UA when the story actually ends 8 years after that, and it's very unlikely that you marry the same person you started dating when you were 15. idk, i liked that. i like that you can have two characters who maybe have a crush on each other but can't focus on that due to Circumstances and eventually move on and become good friends. it's a win for the platonic department!

- the animation was kinda bad in the first season 😭 but it's understandable and i had fun watching it regardless.

episode 5 thoughts!

heartbroken by no mat, but i was expecting it since min wasn't credited for this episode on imdb, and there was so much other amazing stuff going on, so i can cope. i do think they must be gearing up for a mat-heavy episode soon because his content has been so sparse thus far! we also didn't have lan this episode, which i'm good with since he got so much last week.

(minor imdb casting spoiler: ayoola isn't listed for ep6, so i'm guessing we may have no perrin next week. they definitely do have a lot of different groups to juggle! but IF mat & lan soon join the cairhien crew, we could condense things)

also sad at not much elayne, but again, the remaining episodes will probably be pretty big for her! same with egwene, that storyline didn't progress as fast as i'd thought it would in this episode, but OOF the preview for next week looks like A Lot!!

back to the beginning! falme looks SO COOL!!! and the opening scene with the seanchan was fantastic, it showed off so many different aspects of their culture in just a few minutes (namely their various Ceremonial Things and ideas of who's allowed to speak to whom)

lanfear just whispering "bitch" the second she revives killed me djkfjg what an icon. and we get confirmation that it is indeed the True Power that she used to revive herself.

Lanfear Unleashed is SO much fun oh my god, i love seeing her in full forsaken mode

moiraine telling rand that he can't sleep because lanfear will get him, girl don't tell him that he's going to internalize it and not sleep for the next 6 seasons. this season is really Wheel Of Time Origins: Rand's Various Emotional, Mental, and Physical Health Problems

elyas saying the ef5 aren't perrin's pack HOW DARE!!! i feel like they're making elyas even more standoffish/human-averse than he was in the books, which makes for an interesting dynamic and contributes to perrin's sense that his human & wolf sides can't coexist.

but hopper follows perrin!!!! the goodest boy!!!!!

AVIENDHA IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE'S EVERYTHING!!!!! although ngl her fake accent does sound a bit Fake to me lmao but i'm sure i'll get used to it after a few more scenes

also he totally wants to fuck perrin you can't change my mind. buying him drinks and giving him a Cute Nickname, boy you ain't subtle! and then aviendha briefly hits on perrin later and also perrin stops her from killing dain. wake up babe, insane new WOT polycule just dropped djkfjfg

OB!!!! FREAKING!!!! SESSED!!!!!!!! with verin's detective subplot!!!! it is SO much fun, it delivers a ton of great exposition (namely about the black ajah), and it gives us a bigger peek into the brown ajah than the books ever did. i love this squad!! also katie leung was probably my first Girl Crush (not that i was aware of it) when i was like 8 so i was thrilled to see her show up here, god bless

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT GAVE US CONFIRMATION THAT GAWYN EXISTS IN SHOWVERSE!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH when i tell you i came extremely close both to screaming and to falling off my bed!!!! i'd been hoping for a gawyn namedrop all season but having it here was SO unexpected! my current theory is that he'll be introduced in caemlyn next season along with elaida and galad, and all 3 of them will head to tar valon to look for elayne because they're worried after not hearing from her for a long time.

also now i want a fic where the wondergirls actually do get special permission from mommy morgase to leave the tower just so that they can attend gawyn's birthday party

anyway, someday gawyn and egwene are going to kiss with tongue onscreen and haters can die mad about it <3 oooh now i have a brand-new meetcute for them to look forward to since they didn't meet at the tower!

liandrin & nynaeve's convo in the ways was so good! they continue to do amazing work with that relationship and liandrin's character. AND WHEN SHE SUBTLY FREED THE GIRLS RIGHT BEFORE LEAVING HOLY SHIT i gasped!!!!! the LAYERS they have given this character!!! because yes she serves the dark BUT she still feels loyalty to her sisters (as seen in s1 too when she appeared genuinely upset over kerene's death) and can't stomach the thought of any of them, even the light-serving ones, being collared!

suroth saying with her whole chest "oh sure you're a forsaken but you're not even of the blood soooooo" god grant me her confidence. also another great illustration of the insane heights to which seanchan high blood take their superiority complexes. good god, what's tuon gonna be like?!

avi's fight scene was just as amazing as i'd been hoping and expecting!! 10/10 no notes. can't wait to see what she can do when she has weapons at her disposal!

i'm gonna have to watch this ishy & lanfear scene again to pick up more because i was FAR too distracted by the initial homoeroticism to keep focusing lmao

I know I’m more than 2 months late to the party, but I REALLY wanna gush about how much I loved All Stars’ finale.

It’s honestly my favourite Disventure Camp episode as of right now, because I have a good feeling Carnival of Chaos will be really great considering how much I’m rooting for a good majority of the cast

(Spoilers for the episode below [obviously] but I also mention smth from the TomJake’s spinoff’s last episode)

• Tom sounds like the kind of guy to practice confessing to his crush by talking to a photo of said crush lmao. Ashley’s being as great as always by being Tom’s wingwoman

• Awwww Hunter’s trying to cheer up Ally by showing a drawing of her :D (do you take commissions bro /j)

• Huntally kiss! :D Also Tess is there too lol

• NOBODY WANTED TO BE ON RIYA’S TEAM LMAO. ELLIE ONLY JOINED BECAUSE OF THE CHANCE TO GET 100K, AND ALEC WAS PICKED RANDOMLY AND WAS LIKE “yeah ok whatever”

• Everyone that was sitting in Jake’s stand was starring at Tom (Except James & Aiden) when he was choosing his first teammate before Ally volunteered lol

• Also speaking of, when it panned to show all the contestants reacting to Alec getting shot, everybody had concern on their face besides Yul’s bitchass having a shit-eating grin. Guess he called Alec an insufferable nerd for a reason lol

• Seeing Alec forfeit being Riya’s helper was rlly great. Icing on top was Fiore flipping her off lol

• Seeing James & Aiden root for Jake was really wholesome considering the fact that Jake had beef with both of them throughout the game before making amends. Aiden actually has the my favourite elimination because of his convo with Jake before leaving. Yul’s is a close second because his monologue after getting eliminated is ICONIC

• I also like that even though you don’t hear anyone else loudly root/cheer for Jake (Besides James, Aiden, and Miriam). You can tell that everyone (besides Yul lol) is rooting for him.

• TOM HELPED TO PUSH JAKE BACK UP ONTO THE PLATFORM AFTER RIYA KNOCKED HIM OFF

• Seeing Fiore by Alec’s side as all of the finale’s helpers were in a separate stand was so nice to see :DDDD

• Tom’s not beating the “physical touch as a love language�� allegations. LOOK AT THE WAY HIS HANDS ARE ON JAKE’ SHOULDERS WITH A CUTE SMILE ON HIS FACE.

• Jeez Riya’s gone off the deep end considering what she said to Connor even though she’s supposedly “PrETeNdiNg”. I personally think she’s a really interesting character considering her entire character arc, but at the same time, I think she’s a bitch lol

• “Well! You just watch! Your leg will look like a SCRAP after what I do to him.” JESUS FUCK SHE WAS NOT JOKING SHE FUCKING HIT JAKE IN THE FUCKING THROAT WITH HER SWORD AND KICKED HIM OFF THE PLATFORM.

• I WAS WAITING SINCE LAST FUCKING MAY FOR JAKE AND TOM TO FINALLY TALK OUT THEIR ISSUES AND FOR THEM TO GET BACK TOGETHER AND THEIR CONFESSION SCENE WAS SO FUCKING WORTH THE WAIT BECAUSE OF WHAT TOM SAID TO JAKE.

• “Whenever you called, I just stared at the phone. I was haunted by my past and I was so scared of making another mistake. But you reminded me that I’m so much more than my setbacks. Jake, I… I care about you so much!” I NEED TO BE FUCKING SEDATED

• Tom rlly said “If there’s any chance you feel the same way” as if Jake wasn’t blushing earlier after Tom saved him. And Jake kissed him to shut him up omg

EDIT: Idk how I didn’t mention this (or forget for that matter), but the background crowd can basically be heard throughout a majority of the episode, and their cheers get louder during Gabellie’s kiss and Tomjake’s first kiss which is such a great detail that I noticed when I first watched the episode.

• “I know you’re just coping Riya. Being alone must stink. It’s how I felt for a long time.” I did not relish this quote when I first watched this scene but OH MY GOD I FEEL LIKE THIS QUOTE IS A GOOD BOOK END FOR JAKE’S ALL STARS ARC. HE STARTED ALL STARS BY BASICALLY BEING ALL ON HIS OWN SINCE MIRIAM WAS ON A DIFFERENT TEAM BUT HE NOW HAS A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE ON HIS SIDE. AND KEEP NOTE OF THE PEOPLE BEHIND JAKE WHEN HE SAYS THIS. ASHLEY’S BEEN A GOOD FRIEND FOR JAKE THROUGH THICK AND THIN, JAMES, AIDEN, AND ALLY ALL BEEFED WITH JAKE DURING MOST OF THEIR TIME IN ALL STARS, BUT MANAGED TO PUT THEIR DIFFERENCES ASIDE BEFORE (or after in James’ case) THEY GOT ELIMINATED. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON JAKE AND TOM’S WHOLE RELATIONSHIP.

• I loved how the episode panned to all the eliminated contestants’ reactions to Jake getting knocked off, especially the pan to Ashley, James, Aiden, Tom, and Ally, their faces were hilarious lol

• Ngl that scene of Jake being congratulated despite losing was kinda cheesy to me at first, but I think it’s pretty neat, AND I AM NOT COMPLAINING OVER ANOTHER TOMJAKE KISS >:D

• “I guess, as they say in fairy tales, the prince fails to beat the dragon, but at least he gets the knight in the end!” That’s so wholesome omggggg

• Seeing everyone happy on the bus ride to the airport was so wholesome; Ally, Hunter, & Tess happily playing switch together, Ashley getting a call from Will, Alec smiling as Fiore slept on his arm while he was reading, Ellie & Gabby holding each other with smiles on their face, AAAAA I LOVE IT SO MUCH

• The transition to Riya holding the money briefcase on her own was literally all I needed to know that the Tumblr blog that posted art of Riya winning but getting ignored by everyone had the gift of prophecy lol

• BRO THE WAY JAMES & AIDEN ARE HOLDING EACH OTHER GENUINELY ADDED HALF A DECADE TO MY LIFESPAN, ITS TGAT WHOLESOME

• “Oh we’re gonna spend so much overdue time together.” I WAS CHEERING SO HARD WHEN JAKE SAID THAT. I LOVE HOW EVERY WHOLESOME TOMJAKE SCENE HITS DIFFERENT KNOWING THAT THEY’RE CANONICALLY ENGAGED BY THE END OF THE TOMJAKE SPINOFF’S FIRST SEASON

• I love how Tom also invited Miriam to spend time with him and Jake since he knows that she and Jake had a great bond, only for Miriam to deny it since she knows Tom owes Jake time for themselves and themselves alone.

• I haven’t seen anyone point this out, but in the scene where the contestants go their separate ways at the airport, the people from season two exit the screen on the LEFT, while people from season one exit the screen on the RIGHT, with the only exceptions being Great exiting on the left, and Yul exiting in on the right. Alec also had Fiore on his shoulders, Jaiden, Tomjake, & Gabellie were holding hands as they exited the screen, and Ashley waved her hat in the air to wave goodbye.

• “The cameras are gone right?” “What difference does it make?” “It’s over. I can finally stop pretending!” I genuinely saw this coming from a mile away when I first watched this ep

• OKAY I HAVE WORDS TO SAY FOR CONNOR & RIYA’S LAST SCENE TOGETHER BECAUSE OF HOW MUCH IT PARALLELS WHAT ROSA SAID TO RIYA AFTER SHE GOT ELIMINATED BESIDES BOTH CONVOS ENDING WITH CONNOR AND ROSA SAYING THE SAME EXACT THING. SOMEONE ON TWT ALREADY SAID THIS, AND WHEN I SAW THAT POST IT MADE ME APPRECIATE THIS SCENE EVEN MORE.

• Ok I turned caps back off for this moment, In S2, Rosa monologues about how she’s disappointed in Riya for letting the game change her, and in All Stars, Connor says he’s disappointed in Riya because of how everyone EXCEPT Riya changed throughout their time in All Stars. LIKE THAT CANT BE A COINCIDENCE, I HAVE A GOOD FEELING THAT THE WRITERS INTENTIONALLY MADE THAT SCENE FROM ALL STARS PARALLEL THE ONE FROM S2 ONCE THEY DECIDED TO MAKE RIYA THE WINNER.

• Also pretty bold of Riya to assume her and Connor could continue whatever they had going on after oh, I don’t know, BREAKING HIS FUCKING LEG AND CONSTANTLY FUCKING WITH HIS MIND (also off-topic, but I think aleconnor’s pretty neat :D Apparently they could’ve hugged during Alec’s elimination, but that scene ended up getting deleted, would’ve made the scene more gayer lol)

• Yeah, uh, still don’t really care about the staff even though I think they’re all pretty neat. I remember being so happy after Krystal said that she had a certain duo in mind to take care of DC whilst she, Oliver, Marcus, & Nina took a vacation since it implied Trevek will return to host s4

• That scene of Riya looking at all the happy lives of the other contestants whilst she’s on her own was so bittersweet considering that this scene was the last scene for most of these characters since most of them didn’t make an appearance in the spin-offs (at least James got namedropped lol) .

• And this all once again goes back to what Rosa said to Riya back in S2, telling her that she’d win but will be alone. Everyone’s managed to get a happy ending except Riya; Tom & Jake finally went out to eat Chinese food like they promised back in S1(and ended up getting engaged), James & Aiden are still happily together and are visiting Germany with Lake & Rosa, Ellie & Gabby are still together with Ellie & Tess also having graduated, Alec & Fiore are back on good terms, Grett & Yul are separately living their best lives, Ashley, Will, Nick, & Lill all went out for drinks, and Connor ended up getting married. Meanwhile, Riya’s basically all by herself, only having the 3 million dollars, her miscellaneous acting awards, and her sister as company, ultimately suffering from success. (L)

• Seriously tho, every competitor in a competition show like this getting a happy ending while the actual winner doesn’t get one is an interesting concept that should be done more

• So yeah TL;DR, All Stars’ finale was FUCKING AMAZING! Sure the season as a whole has its flaws, but I still mostly loved it nonetheless. I started watching around episode 8’s release and caught up by watching the previous seasons to get a good understanding of all the characters. This show would’ve done WONDERS for me back when I was still figuring out my sexuality back in 2021-2022 with all its LGBT rep, but better late than never! And this series also kinda helped me heal from all the angst QSMP threw my way with how most of the ships ended up getting happy endings :D (*cough* Tomjake)

okay so personal headcanon on why mike cut his hair, i personally think it's his way of handling - or not handling - his grief over eddie munson.

we know already that eddie inspired mike and dustin a lot to embrace their nerdier side. it also is clear that he got mike interested in alt culture quite a bit. which i think is really sweet honestly.

i also personally like the headcanon that many people had when volume one first came out that mike had a bit of a crush on eddie. bc it's honestly not that out there lmao.

hes completely infatuated. like everyone else in hellfire was laughing and agreeing with eddie and mikes just like smiling like an idiot the whole time. not a word is getting into his head. (similarly to the van scene)

basically, my headcanon is this. okay so mikes look in season four is him being inspired by eddie. okay, but what if mike had a tiny crush on eddie? what if this is not a, youre cool i want to look like you but a hey youre cool and i want you. which i feel like as a queer person - whos also trans - doesn't feel that out there at all.

mikes also VERY repressed, even taking his possible queerness out of the picture. never once is his trauma really brought up outside of maybe like season two? maybe? kind of?? like this kids seen supernatural monsters, tons of people dying, and being possessed and yeah he isn't able to talk about it bc of the government but like he also never talks about it with the other characters who already know about everything? lots of characters don't but i feel like mike especially doesn't talk about it. he just immediately starts trying to be el's boyfriend. or what he thinks el's boyfriend would be i guess is a better way to put it. bc as far as el's concerned i think he's doing a shit job.

so seeing dustin and mike react so differently is kinda not surprising at all. dustin really holds on to the memory of eddie, almost obsessively. like he's still walking around in his hellfire shirt that is literally ripped. dustin also literally saw eddie die so there's also that. it's been said that there's going to be some sort of large time jump and it's not really clear yet how far that time jump is? so maybe mike just moved on faster, but honestly i find that really fucking hard to believe seeing how he handled el and wills "deaths."

so anyway, my point is. mike with short hair back to a style similar to his season 1/2 style? not very surprising. when you have trauma you tend to stay very fixated on the event. dustin saw eddie die, so he's stuck on that, even in how he dresses.

mike is worried about everyone leaving him constantly so someone that he looked up to dying who seemed invincible is going to fuck him up. he really hates growing up which is brought up a lot. so him kind of going back to a time before everything went to shit, when he was a lot younger isn't to crazy. they're both coping differently.

edit: mike also maybe realized, hmm this isn't making me feel more confident but i still like the way eddie looked like a lot- wait nope time to repress this. hahaha so straight i have a girlfriend yes very straight of me did you know i am straight

Thank you so much for commenting!! That post was me just rambling out my own thoughts about the two ships, and I originally didn’t plan on sharing it publicly, but since I love reading other people’s posts like that, I figured maybe someone might enjoy mine too 😊 And I’m SO HAPPY you did!! 💜

I said a lot in my previous response to you, so for your sake and for anybody reading I’ll refrain from repeating myself (when it comes to Free! and my thoughts/opinions, I could repeat myself 10000x and not even bat an eye ...but I won’t do that to y’all haha). But YES Makoto is a precious big squish, his friendship with Haru is important, and MakoHaru do care so so much about each other. No sense in trying to undermine that.

BUT THE RINHARU RELATIONSHIP 😩💥🔥🤯😭😭. I LOVE that you used the word visceral, because that’s it EXACTLY. Haru has a visceral reaction to Rin—and vice versa, but the fact that HARU reacts this way is powerfully telling of just how much he feels about Rin. From the very first episode, Haru barely reacted to anything—he was a rather apathetic teen who really only longed to be in the water. But then enter in Rin Matsuoka, and not only does Haru viscerally react whenever Rin is mentioned, but he also has multiple flashbacks of RIn before he even knew Rin was back in the country.

Because Haru doesn’t react this way—so raw and, and you said, viscerally—with anyone else, I just cannot see him not having special feelings for anyone else aside from Rin. It just makes sense, as he never showed these kinds of feelings towards anyone else in his life since the time Rin returned to Australia after their falling out-race. For me, If there really was potential for a reciprocated ship-relationship between Haru and any other character aside from Rin (within the context of Season 1), it would’ve either happened already considering Makoto had been there the entire time and no sparks or flames, or Haru would’ve been so focused on a new character that wasn’t Rin who had newly entered his life (which, as we know, he wasn’t). But no, Haru was so fixated on Rin, it completely baffled Rei, the newcomer to the group, as to why Haruka was so obsessed with Rin. I mean, if that alone doesn’t blatantly confirm that Haru has some pretty strong feelings towards Rin, then idk what to tell folks who are in denial. 🤷🏽‍♀️

KID!RIN IS THE REASON I FELL FOR ADULT RIN. Like, I knew that this bright and dazzling shooting star of a kid was still in Rin somewhere, and since that Rin stole my heart within the first 75 seconds of the anime, by default part of me was stolen by adult Rin, too haha (though ngl, it took like 4 episodes for me to start sympathizing with him, but when I did wooooosh!! XD). AND YES THE WAY I DIED DURING EPISODE 12!!! I literally covered my mouth and was silent-screeching into my hand, waving my other hand wildly in the air, had to pause the video to collect myself multiples times and basically fell apart and lost my mind over the entirety of episode 12 😂 I have my “recap” here if you’re interested in getting a closer look at my subsequent meltdown, haha.

ok so like. here’s my harry potter house thing. i’m ngl i tried to do this but then i deleted it bc it was getting too long and i didn’t have the attention span but. it kept sticking in my brain so i decided to pick it back up and as such, i’ve lost the original post but it was a quarantine activity (sort drivers into houses, assign quidditch positions, explain) posted by @verstappened​. houses done first, then positions, then explanations for both. i tried to make feasible teams, i.e making sure there arent too many of a single position per house, so this really screwed some of the sorting but oh well.

Lewis Hamilton:

Slytherin: THE GLORY MAN. the aloof kind of superiority, confidence, is top dog, he’s simply the pinnacle of it all. kind of lethal and doesn’t do the whole ‘looking up to others’ things (outwardly, but he seems very soft on the inside tbh). very majestic and is almost a gryffindor, the kind of slytherin that Merlin is. hard-working, got here from incredibly humble beginnings, which kind of stands out from the rest, but he’s clearly now at the top level of society. still very protective of Others. scarily ambitious. Was originally a gryffindor but I wanted the brits to be in different houses for their quidditch positions to work. Could honestly go either way though.

Seeker: more glory. periodt. he stays winning and scoring the most points. clutch-man. Speedy boy, kind of in a different world than everyone else when competing (he’s always at the front lifetimes away from everyone else lmao. playing a diff game.)

Valtteri Bottas:

Hufflepuff: HE SEEMS. LIKE. A. BIG. CHILD. always relegated and brushed off but is literally God-Tier and no one can convince me otherwise. i consider him to be rather reliable (reflecting only the 2019 season at least lmao). a bit of a vindictive streak bc he knows what he’s Capable Of even when others underestimate him. has a very bright smile.

Beater: have u seen him. he’s a big boy even though he’s 5′8 and only an inch taller than lando norris he seems bigger than he is ok

Charles Leclerc:

Slytherin: this bitch. what a snake. hiss hiss.

Chaser: he wants what lewis hamilton has but chose the wrong position. still a star in his own right. pride and joy of his house, will be at the lead of every formation play unless told otherwise by his head of house, to which he will brood and complain ab but comply in the end bc he wants Team Success and loyalty to his Family. scores the most points on the team and people act like he carries even though he literally has a partner(s).

ok but fr my gut said charles is a slytherin (do i really need to explain why? very critical, doesn’t accept inferiority, somehow succeeds. just a feeling his brain seems to fit motorsport politics well), but i was seriously contemplating whether he’d be a gryffindor to max’s slytherin instead. but then i saw someone mention the whole lion schtick and i was like for all of max’s brattiness he is Gryffindor so sharl is snake. sorry don’t make the rules just follow them.

Ravenclaw: idk for all of Seb’s goofiness he just seems cerebral to me. Seems to know mildly irrelevant facts and is really quite smart however is hopeless in the modern age. Kind of that wise old(er he’s not that old) man knowledge. I’d trust him to give me all the life advice I need but also to write a 10 page essay on the nuances of the effect of emotion on verbal language (which we all know he is very experienced with).

Keeper: it’s the protective Dad Power.

Max Verstappen:

Gryffindor: WAS REALLY GONNA PUT HIM IN SLYTHERIN BC HE’S A NASTY LIL SHIT. TOTAL BRAT. GIVES FUCK ALL WHAT OTHERS SAY. BUT HE IS LION AND LION IS HE SO GRYFFINDOR IT IS. also just bc he needs to oppose sharl in every way possible it’s called Poetic Cinema. also his driving style is clearly the bravery and confidence to the point of recklessness that is prevalent among gryffindors.

Chaser: again, he must oppose Charles. so, not a seeker although he’s clearly singularly the most prized competitor. just like Charles, pride and joy of house, their star chaser. the comparisons never end. the competition never ends. the fighting never ends. one of the most interesting and dynamic performers to watch, is predictable in that he’s not predictable except that he will always be aggro to the max. will always be in trouble for getting rough bc that’s Not His Job but that’s just the gryffindor disregard for rules. master point scorer.

Alex Albon:

Gryffindor: was really a toss up btwn this and Hufflepuff but the ultimate deciding factor was the fact that I wanted all the British Boys to be seekers. he really just sticks it out as max’s teammate like a real one (nothing against max, everything against Helmet Merco) for the good of the team, still is sweet with max anyway. fitting that they’re in the same house too.

Seeker: he’s not the small boy that lando and lewis are but he is (thai/)British. very special boy (big ups on the promotion even tho it was Sad Times for Pear) deserves very special job. also he has a hot girlfriend (alex albon who i only know lily he’s boy toy) idk how that’s relevant but it seems fitting.

Carlos Sainz:

Ravenclaw: bc he’s a spaniard but is still better at english than Lando (i think everyone is tbh). Seems to be a quiet type of smart, sensible, but perhaps this is just the consequence of being compared to Lanno at all times LMAO (no hate all love bby Lannd). would be the type of ravenclaw to follow his friends on absolutely idiotic ventures but would step in to prevent near death or likely-legal-problem causing actions (and only then; otherwise it’s every man for themselves and everyone is free to make a fool of themselves and break some laws. carlos may dabble in such practices.)

Chaser: seems to be a go-getter, not going for points doesn’t even cross his mind. will always be the one driving up the pitch, the strategist of sorts bc he seems big(ger) brain (than lando lololol).

Lando Norris:

Hufflepuff: you all know why. zero explanation needed. like, none.

also has a bit of an aggressive streak which tends to catch ppl off guard. is not afraid to confront u (hello pageNO) and at times defies the hufflepuff stereotype of being perpetually happy go-lucky (he has his bad days!). but when with His True Crew he is absolutely a hufflepuff ball of energy.

Seeker: small and speedy. energetic to the max. small. quirky and different from the rest, so he gets the special job. small. everyone would kill to protect him. small.

Daniel Ricciardo:

Gryffindor: AW I DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT I PUT HIM AND MAX TOGETHER. LOOK I EVEN MADE THEM BOTH CHASERS. AH HOW BIGBRAIN MY MIND IS. everything ab dan is gold. golden skin, the colors in redbull and renault, his smile, just the vibes. he’s just got the enthusiasm and charisma and this intensity of a gryffindor. super aggressive, his late breaking (from his rbr at least) is legendary and maddening with how he pulls it off. is almost a hufflepuff but the gut said no.

Chaser: is Max’s teammate. so yeah. was obviously the star until younger max came to the show. a bit lost in limbo bc of it but they still work well together.

literally want to make him a hufflepuff so. bad. but i couldn’t split up maxiel. also his vibe is just different from other ‘puffs like stroll so.

Esteban Ocon:

Slytherin: ask max.

Chaser: being characterized off of their relationship with max seems to be a theme here. will go head to head with max w/ absolutely zero shits given. talented, but the rivalry with max is entirely secondary to charles imho. still yet to show his full potential but is still quietly a thorn in max’s side. many are interested to see what he is able to do in the immediate future.

Pierre Gasly:

Hufflepuff: GUYS HE WANTS TO OWN A PANDA

Chaser: constantly trying to prove himself and score big boy points. had a stint as seeker until lando came along. did not do as well as ppl had hoped, returned to chaser and proceeded to crush it from there. praticed a lot with charles as children (the friendship dynamic w/ their houses was definitely unforseen but is amazing).

Daniil Kvyat:

Hufflepuff: really wanted to make him a slytherin but the quidditch positions didn’t work out. firmly believe this works though. more of the rough and tumble type, definitely the kind that will sock u in the nose if u write off hufflepuffs as a joke. could honestly probably be a gryffindor too with how unapologetically aggressive he can be in the name of His Beliefs. gives me big dumb himbo vibes now that i think ab it tbh which is mostly the justification here. also he has a child omg.

Chaser: but the one that’s always headbutting bludgers out of the air (torpedo bitches). also had a stint as seeker before but it Was Not His Thing. he’d much rather be chasing and throwing things than seeking things. also he’s pierre’s mate :,) would’ve been a beater but romain and valtteri will not be anything else so daniil took the boot whoops.

Sergio Perez:

Slytherin: it’s just the vibe. knows his weaknesses and is able to make up for it with his confidence and talent in his strengths. very ambitious, plays the right cards at the right times to get the right results. something ab him puts me on edge, but like in a good way; i feel like there’s always a trump card up his sleeve, like when he gets to q3 out of fucking nowhere in a racing point.

Keeper: he gives me the same vibes as seb idk what it is. very dependable, backbone of his team.

Lance Stroll:

Hufflepuff: guys have u seen the guy. he’s just here to have a good time. may seem a bit airheaded at times but he means well 99% of the time. untapped potential. seems like a no thoughts head empty canadian hockey boy (and every one of these types is a hufflepuff don’t fight it); may or may not be the only accurate description of him.

Chaser: he’s just trying his best out here. i

Gryffindor: he just has that majestic quality (that could also fit a slytherin but i only see red when i see antonio). look at that lion’s mane. also he’s one of kimi’s to paddock friends? seems fitting that he’s a gryffindor to kimi’s slytherin.

Chaser: plays second fiddle to the duo that is max and daniel, often regulated to vibing on the side. but he’s there and he’s important and he has potential (i’ve been seeing ppl talking ab a ferrari move and i’m positively shaken). [edit: again, this post is old.]

Beater: unapologetically chaotic. lurking around the edges making people feel hunted. spends more time playing baseball in the middle of the matches than quidditch and sometimes it backfires but it’s good fun and it sometimes works.

Romain Grosjean:

Hufflepuff: y’all he’s such dad energy and he likes to cook. gets written off a lot but he actually cares (he’s a part of the grand prix drivers assoc.!). he seems so wholesome and he spends time with his kids and their school work when he can do u feel those water drops yeah those r my tears.

Beater: i really wanted to make him a slytherin beater to make him teammates with k-mag but he’s just. not a slytherin. but i kept the beater part. spends the majority of the hufflepuff v. slytherin matches sending bludgers kevin’s way even when he doesn’t mean to. it’s always reciprocated.

George Russell:

Ravenclaw: I’VE SAID IT BEFORE AND I’LL SAY IT AGAIN THIS KID. is so marvelously well spoken and he just has such a simple yet effective way with words. he knows what’s reasonable to expect but never fails to expect the most that he can given his circumstances. again, mentioned this before but a lot of it is his accent. the glottal stop is a historically stereotypically rural (i.e. “uneducated”) thing but I’m American and I Don’t Listen to the Rules, so the accent just makes him seem so sophisticated to me especially when he’s saying things like “horriiiiiiiific” and presenting his hefty powerpoints.

Seeker: my British Boys Are Seekers headcanon continues. definitely a Golden Boy of the team kind of guy (hello tragic dumpsterfire that is williams :/ ).

Nicholas Latifi:

Hufflepuff: same boat as lance. his twitch streams are so wholesome he’s just chilling man. twitter made me write him off as daft and unnecessary at first but like fuck twitter i’m all here for ninky latvia now.

Chaser: lowkey gives me keeper vibes as well? the sensible, level-headedness. but obvs that’s lance so chaser it is. still the level-headedness that helps him hold down the fort btwn pierre and daniil who can tend to get a bit imaginative, and also the energies of them + lando.

Ok so it’s not my FAVORITE favorite BUT there’s this one episode where a door-to-door salesman murders and robs a woman and the “fun” part about it is that it happened in a neighborhood about 15 minutes away from where I live (I actually have 3 friends who live in the neighborhood behind it)! Some of the people they interviewed were names I recognized and my mother even recognized someone in the background as someone from her old church! Also, the motel where they apprehended the suspect’s employer used to be a Motel 6 (I think it’s a Holiday Inn now) and it’s right next to my old therapist’s office! So cool episode cause I recognized a lot of stuff from my side of town lol

There was one where they brought Dr. G a skeleton found by a railroad crossing (which was said by locals to be haunted due to a train accident where a train hit a school bus of children. They said “if you put your car in neutral it’ll go over the tracks because the kids push it so you don’t get hit” but in reality, it’s very slightly downhill and just doesn’t look it) and it was DNA tested and the results said it was male, but the skeleton itself looked female. There’s no trauma on it and no way to identify it yet, so she puts it in a box. Meanwhile, the local news does a story on the skeleton found by the crossing, and a little girl in a foster home (she’s like somewhere in the 8-12 range, not certain of her age) says to another kid, “oh that’s my sister, my mom killed her with a hammer and we took her body there.” So the police interrogate this little girl and the mother, who’s had DCS called on her multiple times and had been in prison other times for drugs. So eventually, they found an x-ray of the sister’s skull taken on one occasion the mother beat her. Dr. G was able to match the frontal sinus and teeth on the x-ray to that of the skeleton, confirming the identity as this little girl’s sister. Since there was no perimortem trauma to the bones, Dr. G concluded that the hammer detail could be true if the mother hit into soft tissue, such as the spleen, and ruptured it. The mother confessed and got a life sentence.

i have this headcanon (which is probably canon lbr) that otabek doesn’t even feel anything sexual/romantic for yurio (because like, yurio’s a kid?) and they’re just the cutest platonic besties and otabek even dates mila for a while (but it doesn’t work out because 1) mila/sara is too cute to ignore tbh and 2) mila and otabek are both so chill that it kinda ends up becoming bro-y toward the end) 

in the mean time (like 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons) yurio just like experiments the way innocent teenagers should be allowed to with other teenagers (which means i get to make cute ocs to put him with which is always fun ngl). and while yurio probably had a crush on otabek at some point he probably didn’t really understand the full implications of it (and viktor constantly teased him for it lmao)

and then at the 2019 worlds gala yurio gets hurt and is forced to take half the season off to recover. and when yurio comes back into skating again at 19--BAM otabek sees him in a completely new light; although the yuri plisetsky who was shorter than him hasn’t existed in years, otabek had always kind of seen him in that way, as kind of a little brother. except this new yuri who came back from an injury is confident and mature and masculine and tall, like taller than viktor, like taller than christophe tall. 

and yet very little else has changed about yuri’s personality; he’s still hot-tempered and loud and throws his phone when he’s pissed, still broody and even a little anxious before a competition, and gets sweet and touchy-feely when he gets sleepy, and he still loves cats and whines about viktor being annoying but now his voice is deeper and his english is better and he seems to think before he acts and speaks sometimes and it just strikes otabek at worlds 2020 just how much yurio has changed.

it takes very little time from that point for otabek at least to realize what his feelings have turned into, and it makes the bro-ness a bit awkward at first but at the banquet at the GPF the following fall, mila is the one who ends up literally shoving otabek and yurio together like “guys, you’ve probably liked each other for years ffs” and so these two bros become awesome--and healthy--adult bfs
