No. No actually. No he really isnt. He's mad at Katsuki for saying shit that could get his spicy ass expelled. But Katsuki's behavior itself literally rolls off of him.

Like!! I get it! He said a horrible thing! I dont fuckin like it either!!! He should never have said that and it is not and never was cool!!!!! However, Katsuki has since DIED (and the time he also almost died) for Izuku. He apologized to him. Proved himself and just how damn MUCH he was sorry. And i think Izuku needed that. Not to forgive him, but to come to terms with the fact Katsuki also liked him. However, Izuku still liked him before that! This was not the thing that would make or break their relationship. It is Katsuki's own milestone of growth and a signifier of their relationship.

Entirely disregarding that, what was going on in Izuku's mind after Katsuki had first said those infamous words to him? The swan dive? Him at the height of his bullying as even announced by his "friends"?

Null. Let me repeat that. Izuku does. Not. Care. About it afterwards. Yeah, im sure that Katsuki's behavior at large stings. Its not fun. He was an asshole. But Izuku is not hung up over it. We dont see it again, it is left in the past. He is moving on and so is the story.

Izuku is chasing down his dreams with everything he has, not in spite of, but REGARDLESS of Katsuki. He is bull headed as hell, stubborn as Katsuki will ever be. His growth is not to spite Katsuki. It is not to surpass him as some sort of revenge. It is wholly and entirely what Izuku wants. Katsuki and what he says and does be damned.

In fact, Izuku so doesn't care and is still so much his resilient self that, even afterwards when Katsuki is still abrasive (albeit not quite that bad, he never gets that bad ever again), he still likes him!! He fucking adores Katsuki, even! Izuku likes him as a person and as a source of inspiration. Likes him and it shows in the way his eyes shine when Katsuki's being ALL of himself. All that crazy guy Izuku's known for so long, all that explosive energy harnessed in such a beautiful way. Others flinch away from it. The media quite literally looks at him like a villain. But Izuku doesn't. He is in awe. And he has seen everything there is to see with Katsuki.

Izuku growing and catching up to -- even getting ahead of -- Katsuki is not some narrative victory. He isnt going to punch Katsuki square on the jaw and have it be some big grand symbolic moment of healing and overcoming your bully. And he could. He so fucking could at this point. But he doesnt. There are other stories for that. That is not the story Izuku wants to tell. At the very least, Izuku is going to take Katsuki's hand in his and make amends between the two of them. Even if we do get the ending where he and Katsuki finally detangle from one another in this solemn, bitter way, it wont be a "i fought my bully and overcame him. i am better than him. i have healed." kind of story. Because, at its core, it never WAS.

Their story is the kind that accepts a person as they are. For who they are in their entirety. All of it. All of Izuku's and Katsuki's flaws are laid bare between them. It is not and cannot be a simple cut and dry tale. In fact, it is so fucking multi-faceted that if the sun shone on it, it would BLIND you with all its prisms.

MHA is not a perfect work of literature. But it is an amazing story. It is their story. It is his story. And he does not want to make Katsuki the villain. Katsuki has never been the villain to him. Katsuki is his hero.

And he is Katsuki's.

Bottom line: it is Izuku's story. You dont get to decide if he does or doesnt forgive Katsuki. That is his choice to make and Horikoshi's to write. Don't like it? Dont read. Dont watch.

I cant believe i have to say this but if you still hate bkdk in 2023 you need SERIOUS help in reading compheresion. let me run it down for you real quick about midoriyas character:

he is strong headed and fucking stubborn. no, he wouldnt have killed himself, and no, i dont care if you relate to midoriya and hate bakugou because guess what. midoriya isnt YOU. midoriya isnt LIKE YOU. he doesnt think of himself as a victim, and he doesnt hate bakugou, and if i have to say this one more time im going to lose my mind.

the "bakugou abused midoriya at a inch of his life" is just WRONG LMAO hori made it clear that bakugou was at his peak shittiness on episode ONE. even the guys he hung out with said "you went to far- this isnt like you dude" which means his behavior was out of place and unsual. and guess what? afterwards? he didnt cross that line ever again.

how does midoriya feel about it? well i thought it was pretty clear- but heres a refresher: when bakugou said for midoriya to kill himself, what did midoriya do? he got upset. why did he get upset? not at bakugou- he was upset because bakugou would get in trouble. not because bakugou told to off himself, but because possibly bakugou would recieve punishment. he did not give a shit that bakugou was being an asshole, because he was going to do what he wanted anyway. he was going to become a hero anyway. he was going to do whatever it takes anyway, because he is EXCACTLY like bakugou abiet more unreasonable and implusive.
