On that same note, we here at Arcane Newswatch would like to give a special shout-out to the person who liked every single news update post a few days back in about the span of fifteen minutes, all 100 or so of them. Thank you, genuinely, it absolutely made our day to watch the notifications explode
You know when someone goes through your blog on a mass like-spree for a fandom? I love those like, 19 notifications in a row. it’s like “Ah, I see you’re well into a fixation. God bless.”

The British Columbia Conservatives are standing by a candidate who called Palestinian children "inbred" and "time bombs," remarks that NDP Leader David Eby describes as "criminal hate speech." Conservatives Leader John Rustad says he has accepted the apology of Surrey South candidate Brent Chapman and won't ask him to step down, but Eby says a candidate engaged in such speech should be fired. Chapman's comments in a series of social media posts about 10 years ago are resurfacing days ahead of the Oct. 19 provincial election. The National Council of Canadian Muslims says they consider Chapman's posts that refer to Palestinian children as "walking, talking, breathing time bombs" as deeply Islamophobic, disgusting, and utterly unacceptable.

literally quaking over the fact that in a few hours, arcane is over. like ive spent the past 2-3 years obsessing over the artwork that is this show.
im still really excited for future runeterra projects but truly i will miss arcane. this show got me out of the depths of despair when i finished atla/tlok
the characters, the animation, the dynamics. its all so gorgeous. is it perfect? no, but s2 has rocked me to my core. i just want a satisfying (AND HOPEFULLY HAPPY) ending for everyone, esp my pookies (cait, vi, ekko, jinx, and mel). they will forever be faves of mine.
it has one of my favorite sapphic (situation)ships in media of all time. THE YEARNING. THE PINING. THE TENSION. no one does it like them. 😭😭 korrasami (the og red and blue gays 🫡) crawled through the trenches so caitvi could fucking sprint into the sunset. i need to see caitlyn on her knees begging for vi’s forgiveness, and ik theyre argument from the trailer is gonna go crazyy. its wild how far weve come in terms of sapphic rep in shows. its so bittersweet just knowing i started watching this show for them and now theyre finally fucking canon. like canon canon. like kiss on the mouth canon type shit. thirteen year old me would be QUAKING. thanks to whoever made those compilations of those useless lesbians on youtube, ur a real one 🫶🫶.
can i just say that the show’s theme on love is so beautiful. like ik its the theme in a lot of shows but they way arcane presents it is just so AJSJSJSJD. cuz like with other shows it usually focuses on romantic love but in arcane its whether is platonic, familial, or romantic, love is what holds us together and breaks us apart.
why does caitlyn lose herself in a quest for revenge?? for love of her mother.
why does powder use her monkey bomb?? for love of her family.
why does ekko build the firelights?? for love of his people.
why does vi keep fighting?? for love.
and its not the whole cliche “power of love” type thing. its about how love is the guiding light and ruination of these characters.
but what ill really miss though is the fandom. i watched the show early 2022 but the only fandom interaction i had was through yt (boo strict parents :c) and none of my friends watch this show so its nice seeing other people fangirl over new content. sure, there may be a few people with insane takes on the characters and plot (myself included) but arcane tumblr has been one of my favorite parts of my chaotic time on the internet. all of the s2 speculations, corny ass memes, adorable fanfics, gorgeous fanart, and the collective agreement to not watch the s2 leaks. ill especially miss arcane newswatch, reminding us, for the better part of over 1000 days, that there is no news.
(also the league tt acc is so fucking funny dude whoever runs that should get a raise)
maybe the real arcane was the friends we made along the way. ill see u all on the other side 🫡🫡

Two men have been arrested after four females were abducted and held captive in a storage container in Pennsylvania following the witnessing of a shooting, officials say.
Davaun Carlon Jackson, 29, of East Stroudsburg and Isaiah Rogers-Keeney, 19, of Middletown were arrested by state troopers at a Walmart in Mount Pocono in Pennsylvania, at around 10.44am on Tuesday, according to law enforcement officials.
Jackson has been charged with kidnapping, rape and terroristic threats, among a string of other charges, while Rogers-Keeney is charged as an accomplice.
Their whereabouts came from a member of the public who claimed that a Ford SUV was traveling north on the freeway Route 33 with two of the victims inside.
Police said they caught up with the vehicle in the parking lot of a Walmart Supercenter. They found Rogers-Keeney and one of the victims inside the vehicle, and saw Jackson leaving the Walmart with a second victim.
“Troopers, along with the Pocono Mountain Regional, located the suspects’ vehicle at the Walmart in Monroe County. They waited and set up a perimeter, and when the suspects exited the Walmart, they were taken into custody,” Trooper Anthony Petroski of the Pennsylvania State Police told Local 21 News.
“Ultimately, it was discovered four females were kidnapped by two different individuals. They were bound, they were sexually assaulted, and they were threatened.”
Monroe County district attorney Mike Mancuso told WFMZ that the victims ranged from 17 to 21 years of age. Two of them had witnessed a shooting in the city of Wilkes-Barre, 6abc reported, citing court records.
After the shooting, they had been ordered into the Ford SUV, and once they were inside, saw that two other women were also in the vehicle.
The investigators believe that the men then took the women on Monday to a property in Smithfield Township owned by Jackson.
The four were then reportedly placed in a shipping container, with three bound with ropes and restrained.
Police say Jackson had threatened to kill the females, having “multiple weapons”, and that he sexually assaulted two of them.
“There was a car chase, there were kidnappings, transportation to places of isolation, threats of murder, of mayhem and sexual assaults,” Mancuso told WFMZ. “There was one minor there. The minor was 17 years old. The other ones were, the age range was, I believe 18 to 21.”
Jackson and Rogers-Keeney allegedly took the females to another property that Jackson also owns on Tuesday, where he let one of the victims have her phone back. She then called her mother, according to the district attorney.
“It was the mother of one of the victims that called the police,” Mancuso said.
The district attorney said that officials had been following Jackson before this incident occurred.
“There has been an investigation that has involved him over the course of the last several months,” Mancuso said.
He added that all of the victims, including the victim of the apparent shooting in Wilkes-Barre, are going to survive, and Monroe County is offering the four victims who were kidnapped access to mental health services.
An attorney listed for Rogers-Keeney told Newswatch 16, “The only statement I will make right now is that I have spoken with my client and that he maintains his innocence in this case.”

Arcane Newswatch - Day 1085: Farewell
After 1085 days of waiting, 573 days of it tracked by this account, Arcane has returned. With that, the count is finally finished and there is nothing left but to say farewell. I thank you all, everyone who liked and reblogged and sent the asks that helped me break up the monotony of posting the same picture every single day; I won’t lie, there were some tough and exceptionally boring stretches, especially there in the Day 700 range, but you all helped me power through and make it to the end. Also, I’d like to extend a collective thank you for all the kind messages sent to the inbox over the last couple days. While there’s a few too many to respond to, I’ve read every one of them and it truly means a lot to me
I’ll be leaving this blog open, a time capsule of sorts for however long Tumblr exists as a platform. But barring a surprise season 3 announcement from Riot one day, this is where we must say goodbye. It’s never easy to shut the lights off and lock the door on the way out, especially for something as relatively long-running as this turned out to be (I earnestly believed Arcane was returning in a year or less when I started this in April 2023), but the time has finally come. If you wish to follow my other, equally obsessive Arcane works (and if you can forgive me for a bit of self-promotion), my fics can be found on AO3 under NatDammit. But regardless of whether we meet again in the comments section of one fic or another, or if this is indeed our final goodbye, I hope you all enjoy the new season and I wish you all the best. Thanks for coming along for the ride
This is Nat from Arcane Newswatch, signing off

That support won't come cheap, the Quebec-based Bloc said, and the sovereigntist party led by Yves-François Blanchet has already drawn up a list of demands. In an interview ahead of the opening of Monday's party caucus retreat in the Outaouais region, Bloc House Leader Alain Therrien said his party is happy to regain its balance of power. "Our objectives remain the same, but the means to get there will be much easier," Therrien said. "We will negotiate and seek gains for Quebec … our balance of power has improved, that's for sure." He called the situation a "window of opportunity" now that the Liberals are truly a minority government after New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh tore up the confidence and supply deal between the two parties last week, leaving the Bloc with an opening.
