Best Places to Eat in Brooklyn
Introduction
The best food in Brooklyn is as varied as the borough itself. When you're thinking about where to eat in Brooklyn, you'll want to make sure that the restaurant has that unique Brooklyn vibe. That's why we've put together a list of the best places to eat in Greenpoint, Sunset Park, and Chinatown. You'll also find restaurants that serve up great pizza and desserts along with burgers and shakes from one of our favorite neighborhoods: Park Slope!
Pizza in Greenpoint
L&B Spumoni Gardens:
The best pizza in Greenpoint is at L&B Spumoni Gardens, a historic Italian restaurant with a menu that includes everything from veal parmigiana to eggplant parmigiana. The pizza itself comes in classic NYC-style slices or whole pies and can be topped with everything from pepperoni to sausage to mushrooms. Be sure to save room for some of their famous cannoli!
Di Fara Pizza:
If you want the most authentic slice of New York City-style pizza in Greenpoint, head over to Di Fara Pizza where lines are long but worth it! They're open until midnight on weekdays and 1 am on weekends (so go early if you want yours fresh). You'll find classics like cheese or pepperoni on top of an airy crust at this local favorite--but don't forget about the specialty options like broccoli rabe pie (pictured above) or eggplant Parmesan! Paulie Gee's
Mexican Food in Sunset Park
If you're vegetarian, vegan, or have food allergies and are looking for some delicious Mexican food in Brooklyn, look no further than Sunset Park. This neighborhood is well known for its wide variety of restaurants that offer fresh ingredients and authentic dishes. Many restaurants in Sunset Park offer gluten-free options as well as other healthy choices such as salads and soups.
It's also worth noting that Sunset Park has one of the highest concentrations of Mexican-Americans in New York City--meaning it's home to some great authentic cuisine!
Dim Sum in Chinatown
Dim sum is a type of Chinese food, served in small bite-sized portions. It's traditionally served in bamboo baskets or steamer baskets, but you can also find it in deep-fried dough pockets.
Dim sum is often eaten for breakfast or brunch and usually consists of savory dishes such as dumplings, buns, pancakes, and other pastries along with sweet desserts like pastel de nata (custard tarts).
Pizza and Desserts in Red Hook
Carmine's
Barracuda
Salvatore Pizzeria (Get the Margherita)
Franny's (The pizzas are made in a wood-burning oven and have unique toppings, like eggplant and ricotta or gruyere cheese.)
Marco's Pizza (There are several locations around the city and they're open late!)
Pizza di Scarola (This place has a great selection of pies with fresh ingredients.) If you're looking for something different, try their broccoli rabe pizza--it won't disappoint!
Michal Zidkyahu, MA
Michal Zidkyahu, MA is the owner of St. John's Park Slope. He graduated from Harvard University in 2009 and has been running his restaurant for five years.
St. John's Park Slope has a variety of foods that will appeal to any palate: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert! They also have beverages such as coffee and tea if you want something other than food!
St. John's Park Slope
St. John's Park Slope is the place to go for good food and a good atmosphere. It's great for groups, kids and birthdays, or any special occasion. The staff are friendly and accommodating, but don't be fooled: they know how to cook! The food here is delicious and reasonably priced--you can enjoy a three-course meal for $30 per person (not including drinks).
The interior is decorated with exposed brick walls, wooden floors, and hanging lights that give off a cozy vibe while still being bright enough to see your plate at night time. There are also large windows which let plenty of natural light in during the day so there's no need for dimming lamps or candles like other restaurants would do when being crowded by hungry patrons after 6 pm on weekdays when most people go home from work
Conclusion
If you're looking for a delicious meal in Brooklyn, these are some of the best places to eat. Whether you want pizza, burgers, or dim sum, there's something on this list that will satisfy your craving.

Holy shoot, @guilty-pleasures21, Thank you! 🤗Been following this trend, & this reblog thread-line of it, for the past day or so on here and was not expecting to suddenly get the mentioned alert ping bout being tagged in this too! ✨😊 and really showing my age with the realization it's been years since i've done one of these to boot. Let's get into this then✨
Last Song: On Spotify, Annpantsu's cover of "I'm Still Standing"
Favorite Color: hmm, kinda tied between purple and green (as this reblog and my blog's main/mobile app view theme shows XD), so guess it depends on the shade of either (prefer either a lighter or darker green than this txt option & typically a darker closer to violet than the purple txt color option - which happens to also be my current hair color!)
Last Book/Fic: Been mostly doing online reading lately, but do still purchase physical versions (recently got a newly opened B&N closer to where i live that's now my new home-store that's a LOT closer than the previous one XD Hubby is already joking bout the 'wallet pain' of him coming home from work to find me with more new books XD) so physical book wise, it would have to be 'The Modern Herbal Dispensary' that i recently got form Barnes & Noble ^^ and online Fic wise, it's hands down @greensagephase/Alondra's Spiderverse 'Nonviolent Communication', full re-read after reading the newest released Chap 22 ^^ (any spiderverse fans, if ya haven't checked NC out yet, i highly recommend it ^^)
Last Movie: Transformers One
Last Show: all 3 Seasons of Marvel's 'What if' on New Years Eve since the tidbit was with my folks for the week and i was resting up from feeling sick a few days prior XD got to Season 3 at the midnight Ball drop, so it worked out pretty well on my end XD
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: hmm, this is a tough one, since it depends what type of food we're talking about. ✨desserts wise, sweet all the way. ✨snacks are mix of sweet and savory (like i prefer sweet for popcorn with kettle corn or caramel corn, but savory for stuff like crackers/pretzels like with white cheddar cheeze-its) ✨main dish wise, mix of savory or spicy, depending on the kind of dish. served in a bowl dishes for example, i lean more a mix of both as a Southerner born and raised growing up with 'southern cold weather comfort food' like Creole dishes jambalaya and red beans & rice, as well as Texas style chili (which growing up got spicier when my dad was the one to make it as us 3 siblings got a higher spice tolerance) Also for main dish wise on the other end is, savory dishes like all day slow cooker pot roasts or shepard's pie ^^ long story short - I'm a foodie, and like little bit of everything to an extent and have tried a wide variety of ethnic style food since it's unfortunately dependent on where i am/local area is mostly tex-mex with some authentic Mexican and Asian (mostly Japanese & Chinese, with one Korean grill place) restaurants in my area (stopped having spicy food during my pregnancy and now unfortunately my spice tolerance has taken a major hit and i have to work it back up to where it was back in College😭like used to be able to eat wasabi by itself and use Sriracha with not much issue)
Relationship: Happily Married 9 years with this yr/2025's Dec being the 10 yr/1st Decade mark ^^ (married wise. been together 13 yrs since Nov 2011 ^^ - and Yes I admittedly love making both my hubby and myself 'feel old' at reminding him we're already a fair bit past the decade mark technically with marriage getting close to the decade mark due to the tidbit being close to turning 10 from being born the following year XD)
Last thing I googled: legitimately full on google searched, (& not counting typing in the name of a site in the search bar to get it pulled up from being half-assed lazy or too tired to recall the actual website's spelling/type out from google being my default/home browser XD) would have to be over the weekend looking up search/location tips for the stripeshell snail from the game Palia to get help finding it to finish one of the Vault of the Waves beach bundle XD (highly recommend Palia as a fun cozy game to play ^^)
Current Obsession: oh, geeze this one is a call out XD. um, depends what you mean by obsession i guess XD. since one of my special interests is musicals (mainly broadway, specially Hamilton, Les Mes, and Wicked ),while my current hyperfixation for musicals is sorta a musical - it's the 'Epic: The Musical' concept album series by Jorge Rivera-Herrans about Homer's “Odyssey" ^^ i have been playing the Ithaca and the Troy saga albums the most for like the past month and a half, mainly the song 'Warrior of the Mind' from the Troy saga and 'The Challenge' from the Ithaca one (i can go on about how it shows the relationship of Odysseus and Penelope as one of my favorite greatest love stories told. i mean the Oddy's old bow to shoot thru the axes challenge to the suitors with the song's line 'Cause I'd rather die, Than grow old without the best of you' ?!✨🥰🤩🤌🏼) Characters/Fandom wise, i will admit that lately it's been a bit hyperfocus with Marvel mostly XD mainly Spiderverse's Miguel, X-men (nearly of the animated series and the OG cinematic verse/Earth-10005 movies line, and a fair bit of the comics verses with some exceptions) Dr. Henry 'Hank' McCoy [I'm well aware of how far off the deep end Earth-616 Krakoa era 'Beast Prime' went off his rocker out of descending into madness post legacy virus arc], MCU/TFATWS James 'Bucky' Barnes, & MCU/Comics Dr. Stephan Strange ^^
I look forward to telling you: You all have been traumatized enough this decade, you deserve a hug and happiness may the rest of this decade be far better for you than the first half.

Imagine Pacho Sends You as a Gift to (Spy on) Amado 3/3
More smut (but I’m really bad at writing it, :////). Plot twist guaranteed. And I can’t believe I wrote 6K for this, FML. What has Chema done to me? I also made a few changes in the first two parts, read the whole thing on AO3.
Tumblr media
You are woken by a phone call in the middle of the night. But you neither move nor open your eyes. You hear some numbers, Amado sounds irritated. It could be something related to tonight's dinner?
Your patience is wore out minutes after minute and Amado still hasn't returned to bed. You make a bold decision to wake up, and the Mexican is smoking by the window. Something keeps him up at night? That doesn't sound like the Lord of the Skies, the man who has had the world at his feet.
"You wanna talk, more sex or a bath?" You carefully propose.
"I was expecting for late night snacks you pull with some Asian witch shit." Amado lets you sit on his lap. "Hang on, I've got some leftovers from the kitchen."
You two settle for sharing the jacarandas mochi from a small food container in the bathtub.
"You like it?" You don't really need validation from Amado. It's just you spent hours coming up with the idea of improvisation, trying to make a traditional Japanese dessert more appealing to the Mexican guests. "I made the bean paste from scratch, less sugar. I understand most Mexicans are not used to sweet bean paste..."
"They don't deserve it." Amado suddenly claims. You don't get it. Who are they? "They are just a bunch of pigs in expensive suits, corrupted, stinky pieces of shit." Then Amado tells you almost everything. He invited the tequila exporters with the hope that the cartel could use their affiliate companies in the States as front to launder more drug money since tequila is one of the largest yet least regulated businesses between the US and Mexico. And the politicians are officials from Mexican Customs Bureau and SHCP.
"Fucking idiots. They thought I was gonna ask them to smuggle coke under the tequila crates. With all the fucking Pier 1 sofa and Ford pasenger seat manufacturers in Juárez, I've had more than enough trucks to move products across the border." When Amado brought up money laundering, the tequila exporters expressed concern regarding possible investigation of tax evasion from ATF, putting more pressure on Amado to increase their cut.
They eventually made a deal less favorable to the cartel and that's why Amado's a bit pissed when he's on the phone.
"Why are you telling me this?" For the first time that night, you ask softly.
"Those cabrón. They don't deserve what you bring to the table. You pour your heart and soul, making the best feast I've ever had. You deserve to know what happened."
You've never thought you'd hear that from Amado. He didn't have to tell you anything. It makes you lower your guard. You want to get closer to him, without any agenda.
"Does this mean my body won't be put in the trunk of one of your auto collections tomorrow?" You try to lighten it up.
Amado kisses you from behind. The position is awkward but neither of you care.
Making out with Amado in the bathtub makes the night better than your wettest dream.
The Mexican's gonna make you cum again with those magician hands of his.
"You...haven't told me if you like the jacarandas mochi." You're so screwed. Maybe you'll never get the answer because Amado's too busy sucking you tits.
Amado clears his schedule the next day. He brings you to the Asian boutique where he bought the Japanese painting.
"One of my guys found this place. I thought you might be interested..." That's cute from a drug lord. But you're not that kind of person.
"A) I don't need a Buddha artifact home to find my inner peace, and B) only Pacho wears shirts with Chinese characters taken from a poem back in the Tang Dynasty. Seriously, he's ridiculous. Come on, let's go."
Instead, you two spend the day trying different Asian food you can find in DF. From hotpot to Peking roasted duck, from pho to char kway teow. Amado seems to enjoy the Chinese food more than others.
"Most Asian restaurants in North America are run by the Chinese, from San Francisco to DF. Since you guys can't tell if an Asian cook is from China, Japan, Vietnam or Thailand, he or she would quickly learn dishes from other Asian countries. We are always the most hardworking people." You explain to him.
"Oh, I love hardworking people." He's so full of shit but you can't help smiling.
Amado finds a fortune cookie note saying "Happy New Year of Monkey." Then you explain Monkey is one of the Chinese zodiac signs which repeat every 12 years.
"So 1956...I am a monkey? Cool." He's surprisingly quick with math.
You write the Chinese character of monkey on a napkin and Amado seems fascinated by it. So you suggest that he could get the Chinese character tattooed, "Next time you can show that to Pacho. He probably would get one, too."
Holy shit, he's really doing it.
The way the tattoo parole Amado brings you to is cleared makes you believe it's part of the cartel business, which makes perfect sense.
"You don't have any tattoos? Not at all?" You're surprised when the tattoo artist prepares Amado's skin on his forearm, first cleaning then shaving.
"We've fucked three times, once in a bathtub," Amado grins, obviously in a good mood, "Don't you think it's a bit late to ask? Or I fucked you too hard you didn't notice?"
Thank God the tattoo artist doesn't even flinch.
OK, you have to get back at the fucker. So when the tattoo artist asks you for the character to make a design, you write pig in Chinese instead of monkey.
"Hold on, that doesn't look like what you wrote on the napkin. Let me see it." Right after the tattoo artist places an outline of the design on his skin, the Mexican stops him.
You're 100% sure Amado doesn't speak or write Chinese. How the fuck does he figure it out?
"What is it exactly? Tell me the truth or you will have an honest conversation with my brother." Amado makes the threat more scary by pointing at Vicente, who stands next to the door with two guns and a pink lollipop.
"Wait. He doesn't know shit. It was me...I wrote a different character." Your confession is quick, you don't want to see anyone get hurt over this beef.
You thought it's just a silly prank. Now you realize you're dealing with the most notorious narcos of the country. Amado may look like a businessman, reasonable, even decent. He's still capable of getting violent whenever he thinks it is necessary, to an extent you really don't want to know.
You take a deep breath, then apologize to Amado. You are ready for the consequence.
"Apology accepted. On one condition, you'll have the exact same tattoo as I do when the new design is done." Fair enough.
But you're a chef who often needs to cook right in front of customers. You can't let them see a tattoo on your forearm.
"How about here?" The Mexican is touching your breast as if no one's around.
It's a small tattoo, just one character. But it's near your heart and you're sensitive as fuck.
You can't move but your nipples are hard almost through the entire process. Amado's right beside you and he sees everything. Someone please help you ease the pain FFS.
The fucker doesn't act on it until you get into the car. Amado shuts the soundproof panel between the front and rear seats and the next thing you know, you're riding the man who just makes you get a stupid matching tattoo. It fucking stings, and itchy. Yet the pleasure is undeniable when your tits being teased, bit, sucked. Amado carefully avoids the tattoo, which makes you want him to scratch the itch even more. You scream his name when you cum with both extreme pleasure and pain.
Amado puts an arm around you when it's over. Two matching tattoos are right next to one another. Your heart is still beating fast from the afterglow, echoing his pulse.
You feel the caress on your beast, it hurts a bit yet the body warmth is nice. Is it how it feels to be marked by someone else? Not many people will ever see it, plus it's not a specific name or symbol that would embarrass you later. It'd be a secret.
"You know what? You won't be able to find a dead body to stand in for you when you eventually betray me, sweetheart. No one else would get a tattoo like this."
What Amado just says feels like a kick in the stomach. It's cold and absolutely right. Have you been sloppy? Has Amado figured out something already? "Why would I betray you?" You ask, but he doesn't give an answer.
It's the last day of your stay. You have a very special package delivered from Japan.
You gonna make blowfish sashimi tonight for Amado.
Everyone knows it's toxic so it has to be handled with meticulous care. You make Amado watch every step —  a set of fuguhiki, knives with thin blade is unwrapped, you pick them one by one to gut the fish, remove the deadly liver and ovaries, skin it and cut off its head. Then instead of cutting outward like most people do, you turn a knife to cut inward.
"Careful! You shouldn't hold knife like that." Amado almost jumps in to help. But you assure him it's OK. Then you show off the technique to cut extremely thin and translucent slices of blowfish.
To make the white meat more attractive, you set the slices in a large plate with red poppy flower pattern. They are so thin, the poppy flower is still visible when all's done.
"An ancient Chinese writer used to say, 'The taste of blowfish is worthy of death.'" You joke when you mix the sauce. "Don't worry. I'm a licensed blowfish-preparation chef."
Amado squints, "So you're testing me."
You want to tell him to just trust you, but you don't know how.
"There's no antidote for the tetrodotoxin. But I'll eat it, too. If it's poisonous, our muscle will be paralyzed bit by bit when we're fully conscious, eventually we won't be able to breathe. We're going to die slowly, painfully and desperately."
You take the first bite, Amado follows.
"Why are you so loyal to him?" Amado breaks the silence, "For one, you don't sleep with him. You obviously are not related. And as far as I know, money can't buy loyalty."
"I'll answer it if you answer my question first." The Mexican agrees. "You didn't want me for me, you barely knew me. You made the decision when Pacho said I was the best, he wouldn't last a week without me. You want him, or something that makes you his equivalent. Except being gay, I don't know. You won't fuck his boys, so I'm the next proxy. Am I correct?"
After a pause, Amado nods. Then it's your turn.
"How many female chefs do you know?" Amado is confused for a few seconds, then he gets it.
"There was no place for you in your line of work, just like there was no place for him in this game controlled by men, men who have multiple wives and fuck whores. He sees himself in you. So he takes you under his wings."
"Yes. Pacho is the only one who's believed me. He's also the biggest shareholder of my first restaurant."
Amado then asks what you gonna tell Pacho when you return. "I'll tell him you give really good heads. Maybe he should try it himself." You wink, "No, I'll let him know you're not a cold-blooded bastard. Even though you sometimes make awful choice by dipping sashimi in guacamole, you're appreciative of other people's work." You really mean it, you like Amado. But you'll probably never know if he buys it or if it matters.
After a while, you finish the whole plate of blowfish sashimi. "Seems we're not dead." Amado's poking your cheek with chopsticks.
"No, we are not."
"Last question, why did Pacho send you?"
"Amado, you would've done the same. You know that."

To get up the next morning after a night full of laughter and relax was a challenge. Even more so when there was a heavy arm draped around your torso, making your body unbearably hot. You tried to shimmy away, to the colder part of the bed, but the arm stretched and pulled you back, even further to the warm body.
You huffed out and tried to get up, but the freaking arm gripped you and didn’t want to let go. “Stop moving so much, some of us are trying to sleep here.” Bucky mulled from behind you, his eyes still closed. “You’re too hot, Buck! Let me go!”
He chuckled slightly. “Too hot, huh? You make it sound like a bad thing. I’m glad I make your knees go weak when you see me,” he whispered and pulled you to his chiselled chest, “or when you feel me.” You could feel the stupid smirk on his face, and you just rolled your eyes. This earned you a pinch to the side, even though there was no way in hell that he saw you. “Ouch, what was that for, you human radiator?”
“I know when you roll your eyes at me, doll. I know you better than you think.”
“Good for you, now let me go. I need to pee and actually get ready for work, because some of us have actual working hours, and can’t sleep all day, every day.”
Your side got pinched again for that comment, and you just had to laugh. “I have to train like crazy to save your pretty ass from the end of the world every now and then.” He mumbled into your hair, and you let yourself close your eyes for a little while.
“You’re my hero!”
“Damn right, I am!”
Somehow you managed to make Bucky let you go, and when you were leaving for work, he was still comfortably tangled in your sheets, looking like a French painting, with his hair all over the pillows, his naked torso peeking underneath the snow-white sheets. You smiled for yourself seeing him like that and turned around to go and do your part in saving the world, even if it was only in the laboratory.
—-
Throughout the whole day, while trying to perfect Tony’s suit, you were thinking about making something nice for Bucky. You were well aware that for the past few weeks, it was always him trying to get your trust and friendship back, but that you didn’t do anything too nice for him. You knew that it was him betraying you in a sense, but because you spent so much time with him, and the trust was back, you wanted to show him that you could do sweet things for him as well.
He enjoyed exploring cuisines with you, and although the good ole’ American was his favourite, he was starting to feel himself some Mexican and Thai food as well. At first, you thought you’d treat him to a nice restaurant, but you knew that he would never let you pay for it, and it would be him doing nice things for you once again.
So you decided upon cooking for him, a bit of everything. The thought excited you, not only because you could try your cooking skills with something more than your classic cuisine made of pasta and rice, but because you knew Bucky would appreciate you trying. He was relatively easy to please, and you wanted to show him that you cared.
“What you’re thinking about, Y/N?” Tony said from behind you, working on a model himself. “Oh, nothing much, just what I’m gonna do tonight.” You were familiar with the fact that Tony and Bucky weren’t the best of friends, so you never brought your friendship with Bucky to Tony, because you knew he wouldn’t be too happy about it all.
“Let me guess, you’ll be doing something that starts with a B and ends with a Y?”
You blushed like crazy and shook your head. “You’re an ass, Stark! Me and Bucky, we’re just friends.”
He laughed out loud this time and looked at you pointedly. “Right, and I’m the Chinese God of Laughter! Please, spare me the bullshit. You do you, sweetheart, but at least admit it to yourself that he is more than a friend. Because I think you and I are friends, and I highly doubt that you’d let me sleep in your bed every night.”
It was not like you didn’t consider the slight chance that you and Bucky could be something more. And it was not like you didn’t find him attractive. But ever since you let him in step by step, you always thought about your relationship as friends only. But the more you thought about it, the more it occurred to you that you acted like a couple than a couple of friends.
You tried to figure out if there were any indications that Bucky was interested in you as well, and you had to smile at yourself. He was jealous at literally every man that stood too close to you, and when the guy at the entertainment park grabbed your arm, Bucky almost killed him.
“There you go! Not that I’m the biggest fan of the guy, but I think you’re good for him. I think you can bring the best out of him. But if you ever tell him, I’ll have to kill you.”
You chuckled and mockingly raised your hands in surrender. “Yes, sir! And by the way, he wouldn’t believe me anyway, no-one would, for that matter.” Tony just hummed in agreement and continued to work on the new prototype.
—-
It was half-past 8, and you were running like crazy around your little apartment, to try and get ready everything the way you envisioned it. You decided upon making Thai red curry noodle soup, tacos, and tiramisu for a dessert, reaching different ends of the Earth with each dish. At the same time, you tried to get yourself ready, wearing an old-school pin-up red dresses with big white dots and matching your lipstick with the dress. You even put a headband in your hair to finish the look.
Bucky told you many times that he sometimes missed the fashion of his old days, and that it wouldn’t kill anyone to wear dresses from time to time. You agreed with him, even though you felt the most comfortable in your wide t-shirt (or nowadays, in Bucky’s shirt) and your black leggings.
But you wanted to make a beautiful night for Bucky to remember and you so dressed up for him. You internally rolled your eyes at your sappiness but let it go quickly, as you still had to set the table before Bucky came in. You called him from work, telling him that you expect him around 8, that you have a surprise for him. He sounded suspicious of your plans but agreed to come nevertheless.
When you had everything ready, you checked your look once more, and give yourself a nod in the mirror. You looked lovely, even you had to admit it. The dresses showed off your boobs nicely and hid your hips and thighs, which you thought were your most problematic areas.
You were checking your butt, when you heard two loud knocks on your door, you let out the breath you were holding and went to open it. Bucky was dressed in a simple white t-shirt and his favourite pair of jeans. But anything that men wore looked like haute-couture. Damn him and his perfect body!
Bucky’s eyes widened as he took you all in. You could see him gulping hard, and when he looked up, his eyes looked a little darker. But you couldn’t be too sure in the dim light of the hall. “What are you wearing doll? Trying to kill me, or something?” He chuckled, but his voice still sounded a little restrained.
You blushed a little and bid him come inside. “You said yourself that you missed girls dressing up the way they did when you were just a young chap, so I thought I’d try it. But if you hate it, I can-“
“Hate it? Have you lost your mind? If it were up to me, I’d let you wear only this! You’re so fucking hot, Y/N, and you don’t even know it!”
“C’mon, Prince Charming. We have things to get to.”
Bucky looked around the room and saw that the small dining table was set beautifully, with white napkins, and even a flower in the middle. “You trying to seduce me, sweetheart?”
You rolled your eyes and forcefully made him sit down. “Oh, would you shut up?” You said with a smile and went to the kitchen to serve you two the soup. When you finally sat down, Bucky looked at you, questions written all over his face.
“What? I just wanted to do something nice for you. And I know you love American cuisine the most, but I thought I’d take us on a little trip. So, right now, we’re in Thailand, we’ll continue through Mexico, and we’ll end up in Italy. Sounds ok?”
Bucky smiled and reached across the table to take your hand in his. “More than ok. But you know that you don’t have to do nice things for me, right? Especially not after a whole day at work, and a whole day with Tony.”
You laughed a little and gave his hand a squeeze. “You don’t have to do nice things for me either, and you still do them. I just wanted to show you that I care about you and that I enjoy your company.”
“Wait, does that mean I’m officially forgiven?”
You chuckled and shook your head. “Oh, Bucky, you’ve been forgiven for quite some time. Do you think I’d let sleep in my bed, just anyone? Or someone I didn’t trust? It took me some time, but I forgave you, and I want to forget about what happened and move forward. And I’d be happy if we moved forward together.”
You whispered the last part, scared at your own admission. But Bucky and his superhuman hearing caught it, and his smile grew so much, you were actually afraid his cheeks would burst.
“I want nothing more than to move forward with you, Y/N.”
“Good. Can we move by eating the food I spent so much time preparing?” You both chuckled and ate while talking about your days.
Bucky helped you clean it all up when you were finished, still talking about how good it all was, and that he could get used to cooking like yours. You were just happy that he liked it, and seeing the smile on his face the whole night, you assumed he liked more than the food. And it made your stomach flutter and your heartbeat a little faster.
You sat next to each other on the sofa, letting something that was on TV play in the background, just talking and laughing. It was in the moment when both of you leaned in laughing, and your heads almost knocked, that you looked into Bucky’s eyes, and all your laughter died out.
He was looking at you with so much intensity, so much fervour and devotion, that all you wanted to do was to stay in that moment with him forever, letting your whole being bask in the feeling.
Bucky leaned in, and your breath hitched in your throat. Even if you didn’t admit to yourself before this night, you wanted this to happen for a long time. Before all, the fiasco with Hannah happened, and after that as well. You closed your eyes, and let Bucky take over control. You could feel his hot breath on your lips, and you couldn’t help but shudder. His lips teased you, touching you ever so slightly, feeling like a feather on your lips. You could feel him shifting his weight so that he could really kiss you the way you yearned when his phone started ringing loudly.
You both jumped and panted, looking around trying to find the source of the noise. You wanted to kill whoever was destroying this moment for the two of you. Bucky smiled apologetically and grunted into the phone. He listened for a short while, hummed in agreement and ended the call. You knew what it meant. He had to go on a mission ASAP.
“Where to?” You asked, trying to hide the disappointment from your voice.
He caressed your cheek and kiss the crown of your head. But that is not the place I want you to kiss, you almost screamed at him but tried to control your feelings. You were sure he wanted to leave as much as you.
“Romania. Some assholes are trying to bomb down the Cotroceni Palace, which is the official residence of their president. I’m actually going there alone, they think that I can take it. So it’s just a few agents and me. Should be an easy job, and I should be back in 4 days max. I would love to continue where we stopped, but I kinda feel like the phone destroyed the moment. And I wanna do it properly.”
You nodded, but couldn’t help your heart aching a little. “I’ll make it up to you, doll, I promise.” He said, and with the last kiss to your cheek, he got up and went to the door.
“Wait!” You yelled, and got up from the couch, and ran into his arms. You didn’t care about what was proper, or that he wanted to do it right. You couldn’t let him go on a mission without a proper goodbye. Not anymore.
You crashed your lips against his, and even though he was a little shocked at first, he quickly woke up from it, and hugged you tightly, his body melting into yours. It was everything you dreamed of and more. You fitted into his arms perfectly, as if your body was moulded precisely to be with him. His soft lips were exploring your mouth, letting you feel all the things he did, and making your heart skip a few beats.
You pulled away and looked deep into his eyes. “Just get back in one piece, please. And let me know you’re alright whenever you have the chance, ok?”
“Anything for my girl,” Bucky whispered and pecked your lips. “Stay safe here, and I’ll see you in a few days.” You nodded, and he was on his way.
—-
The mission was actually easier than Bucky thought, and he didn’t mind it one bit. All he wanted to do was to get back to New York and be with you when you finally forgave him, and he could show you all he had to offer. And he honestly couldn’t wait. The image of you in that red dress was forever burned into his brain, and he was sure that no matter what happened, you in that dress was forever his favourite thing. He had to make sure you wore it more often.
He got into the Quinjet, with the other three agents that went there with him, and put the thing into the air, setting the course to the Compound. They were halfway there when he could hear weird grunting from the other side of the aircraft. He looked that way, but even with his heightened senses, he couldn’t see anything in the dark space.
He got up from his seat and went to see what it was all about. Suddenly, a shadow moved on his right, and when he turned around, he could see someone coming to him. He frowned, trying to think of a way somebody could get into the plane, but couldn’t think of anything.
But when the person stepped out of the shadows, Bucky growled involuntarily.
“Hannah.”

OOOH! Okay I'll be more specific :D I mainly struggle with my writing style and how I want to describe things- I usually make my fics up as I go b/c I usually hesitate to write an outline b/c i usually don't get a solid idea how I want it to go i guess?? how do you usually plan out your rodorah fics too btw?
And here's the second half of the question!!
I shared my outlining process for longfics, but for short fics I usually don't outline either. What I do do is decide what one specific thing I want my fic to do, and then I write toward that. In this one my goal was “split off from canon exactly one second before Ghidorah commits the act that sets him on the path that dooms him—killing Mothra—and do it in a way that allows Rodorah to happen.” In this one my goal was “holy shit i decided my two main characters don’t speak the same language, how the fuck am i going to get them to actually communicate with each other?” In this one my goal was “uhhhhhhhhhhh get ghidorah to not leave earth,” with a side of “remember that basically all kaiju conflicts are resolved by physical altercations rather than arguments so have them actually fight from time to time!” and a dessert of “Rodan deserves to win some fights, I want to write him winning some fights.”
In the fic after next—the one I’ve already written but not posted yet—my goal was first “when Rodan visited Mothra I had a hard time explaining in his & Ghidorah’s combined twelve vocabulary words where he was going, I need a quicker/easier way to have Rodan explain to Ghidorah where he’s going when he makes a day trip away from Isla de Mara” and then it was “Rodan should make a map. A globe. Rodan’s gonna make a globe. out of lava.” and then it was “it’d be a great way to show Ghidorah’s psychology and the way he looks down on species he doesn’t perceive as ‘machine maker’ species—including looking down on his own species—for him to be like ‘oh that’s cute Rodan’s making a ball’ and then be like ‘holy shit holy fuck he made an accurate world globe that’s amazing i am not smart enough to be hanging out with this guy.’” And by that point, I had a whole-ass fic, because it has the process of Rodan making this object and cutting back and forth with Ghidorah’s perspective as he first wildly underrates Rodan’s project and then wildly overrates Rodan’s project. And all that started because I was annoyed a dozen fics ago over trying to write Rodan explaining his travel plans.
But aside from those goals—goals which, sometimes, are very small—I often don’t start a fic knowing where I’m gonna go with it or everything precisely that’s going to happen.
And so the other things that guide my fics as I’m writing them—to ensure I don’t accidentally spin myself off sideways into a plot where the Mexican Navy declares war on Ghidorah and we totally forget about Rodan or a plot where aliens invade the Earth and then I don’t know how to continue and stop writing—is a handful of long-term goals. I’m not going to list all of them, because some of them would be big spoilers for eventual plot points, but among them are obvious things like “eventually Rodan is going to fully return Ghidorah’s feelings,” and “SOMEDAY Rodan’s gotta find out that Ghidorah was trying to destroy the planet,” and “I’d like Ghidorah to casually visit another planet to get Rodan presents, while Monarch flips its shit because this dude just brought back rocks from Venus and it only took him a couple of weeks”—things like that.
So as I’m writing, even if I’ve got no idea how or why I’m going to write those things, they’re in the back of my head. I know to not, like, have Ghidorah do things that Rodan absolutely can’t stand, because that’ll get in the way of Rodan falling for him—instead I should fic by fic be giving Rodan more things to like about Ghidorah. And then when I see a small opportunity for Ghidorah to do something little that would impress Rodan, I take it.
I don’t know when the hell Rodan’s gonna find out Ghidorah was trying to destroy the planet, and I’ve got a half dozen fuzzy ideas for what the consequences of that event could be but haven’t settled on one yet—but even though I don’t know when I’m gonna do it, I’m always very conscious of the fact that Rodan doesn’t know yet, and I’m especially conscious of that during his interactions with Mothra—because like I don’t want the conversation to get tilted in a direction where she’ll end up just casually mentioning it to him, because that’s NOT a casual discovery, that’s a revelation that deserves to be the climax of a scene because it’s got the potential to shake up or even destroy Rodan & Ghidorah’s relationship depending on how they navigate things after that.
I don’t know when Ghidorah’s going to visit another planet yet, but I know that for that to make sense, he’s got to be in a position where he feels like getting Rodan gifts—which means a) he’s got to find out that earthlings are into giving each other physical items as markers of affection/courtship, and b) he’s got to develop to a position where he feels more free to express his affections toward Rodan in ways other than quick headbutts or cuddles he immediately gets embarrassed about, and c) he’s got to feel secure enough in his relationship with Rodan that he won’t think it’ll crash down if he leaves for a couple weeks, and d) San’s got to feel securely anchored enough to his new home on Earth that he won’t be afraid that making a short space trip will drive the other two heads to go “actually, yknow what, now that we’re already out here, screw Earth, let’s move on to the next solar system and never come back,” and e) Ni’s got to be on board enough with this relationship that he won’t grumble and grouse about making a big damn elaborate trip just to grab some trinkets for their bird. Those are a bunch of tinier goals that I can work into fics one by one.
One of my goals is for Gigan to show up on Earth eventually, ya know, for the drama of it all. I don’t know when or how, but it means when I wrote the one fic I’ve written from his perspective, I knew to set it up so that it would make logical sense from that fic when he eventually pops up on Earth.
So that’s a way to write fics, especially short fics, and especially a series of short fics, without an outline. Think of it like a connect-the-dots picture. You might have one or two vague or distant goals—say, "I want these two characters to get married eventually”—and that’s one dot in the distance you’re trying to reach, and so you’re vaguely thinking about how to reach that dot and you go, “well, it’ll be hard for them to get married because they’re in enemy factions,” and now you’ve got a new dot to stick a little closer than the distant one, “one character switches sides,” and now you’re like “but why would that character switch sides?” and now you’ve got a dot a little closer that’s like “this character decides they hate their current faction,” and that scene might be ten fics away, but right now you’re writing fic #1 and decide while writing this character have an argument with their commanding officer that the officer should slap them, and that plants the first seed for their decision to switch sides. How do you get from the slap to switching sides? You don’t know! But now you’re sorta pointed in that direction. And maybe when you’ve written enough fics and added enough dots and connected a few lines, when you get to the “this character hates their current faction” dot you realize that they’re in a position where they can run into the woods between the two enemy factions in order to cry for a while and they could run into the character you want them to marry and hey, now they can have a heart-to-heart, and this pushes them further in the direction you want—you didn’t plan it originally, but because you’ve got that Get Married goal in the distance, you know vaguely which direction to steer even if you aren’t sure which roads you’re gonna take.
It helps to have a “solid idea” of what you want to happen in a story, but tbh you don’t need a whole fleshed-out solid plotline. You only need one goal, and then you aim toward it.

11 U.S. Cities Perfect for a Weekend Getaway
The Way to spend time: Cover as much as you can of the 1,200-acre Balboa Park, spend a day on Coronado Island, and finish each night with a sunset at Sunset Cliffs. Eat your fill of California burritos in Nico's Mexican Food, and drink your plenty of beer from breweries including Ballast Point, Mike Hess, Stone Brewing, and AleSmith. Proceed south of the border, too, with Turista Libre, which takes travelers to hyper-local areas in Tijuana and Valle de Guadalupe.
Denver, Colorado
The Way to spend your time: After checking into the Art Hotel, spend a day at the seven-story Denver Art Museum with Monet's Le Bassin des Nympheas and Paul Klee's Palace Partially Destroyed, followed by a meal at Avelina. On day two, take advantage of this recently revived Winter Park Express Ski Train, which goes from downtown Denver to Front Range's Winter Park Resort in two hours. Come warmer weather, head 16 kilometers west of downtown Denver to the almost 900-acre Red Rocks Park, that has miles of hiking trails, sandstone cliffs, and also a geologically shaped amphitheater that's hosted everyone from The Beatles to Stevie Nicks.
New Orleans, Louisiana
The Way to spend your time: Eat Shaya and Brennan's, each of which left our best restaurants in the entire word list, along with the latter of which has been firmly entrenched in the French Quarter as 1942. Crush a bag of beignets at Morning Call, which has considerably shorter lines compared to Cafe Du Monde--and pristine City Park views. When the sun sets, go beyond Bourbon Street, also do not miss music-driven evenings on Frenchmen Street, which has the Big Easy's most celebrated jazz.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
How to spend your time day in Fishtown, namely to wait in line for Pizzeria Beddia and crawl out of microbrewery into a microbrewery. A day of walking: Wander along North 3rd Street (duck into Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction) and East Passyunk (play a 60-minute' Escape the 80s' match ) before dinner in Michael Solomonov's Dizengoff or Zahav, where you'll dip into some of the best hummus in the nation. Finish at Hop Sing Laundromat, a somewhat-hidden cocktail bar and a rite of passage.
Baltimore, Maryland
The Way to spend your time: Eat your Way out of a new restaurant to the next before (shh) everybody puts in on the key: think Argentinean empanadas at Bar Vasquez; seafood risotto in Cosima; tea-smoked duck breast in Gunther & Co., and barbecue-flavored ice cream out of meals hallway R. House. Stroll off the moments across the historic Inner Harbor, and hop in an hour-long tour, by boat, of what has been deemed among the most underrated cities in the U.S. Catch a show at the gorgeous, refurbished Hippodrome Theatre. Allot three hours to the Baltimore Museum of Art, and get lost in Lexington Market, that will be like the Pike Place Market of Baltimore--if Pike Place was open since 1782, that's.
Portland, Maine
The Way to invest your time: Take the ferry to Peaks Island. Eat your weight in lobster rolls at Portland Lobster Company, and make sure to also hit Central Provisions, The Honey Paw, and Eventide Oyster Co., the"oyster bar of your dreams." (More than a dozen local craft breweries including Allagash and Rising Tide supply the drink; if you're sick of beer, attempt Portland Hunt & Alpine Club.) Walk panoramic Fore Street. Hop on a bicycle for a 6.5-mile flat loop of Portland, which sits on a peninsula, or spend a day" hiking" 70 miles of the increased city through Portland Trails. Push into Portland Head Light, a still-operational light station that has occupied its place five kilometers south of town because of 1791.
Nashville, Tennessee
How to spend your time: Start the day with a cup of house-roasted coffee at Crema. Shop 12 South for a souvenir: a customized pair of jeans from Imogene + willie, maybe, or handcrafted objects from White's Mercantile, a modern twist in an old-time general store curated by Hank Williams's granddaughter Holly. Eat sexy chicken from Hattie B. Honkytonk on Second Avenue at Robert's Western World, or Remain in the Gulch for bluegrass at The Station Inn. Spend two hours in the Frist Museum for Visual Arts, which was Nashville's central post office.
Charleston, S.C.
How to spend your own time: Take a walking tour of 18th-century architecture, and pick your preferred Georgian mansion from Rainbow Row or The Battery. Read a book under the 1,000-year-old, 1,700-square-foot Angel Oak Tree, and nap on the beach of Sullivan's Island. Make a booking at Husk. Possessing a fried chicken sandwich (or 3 ) in Leon's Oyster Shop--it's been known to make even the most severe vegetarian drop off the wagon, and no doubt contributed to Charleston being voted the most magnificent little city in the U.S. To burn those calories, walk into the middle of the Ravenel Bridge (1.25 miles) for sunset over the Cooper River--or say, hey, I'm on vacation, and have a cocktail on the roof of this Dewberry instead. Once the evening has entirely fallen, head within the centuries-old Dock Street Theatre for local and Broadway touring productions.

Zombie Hunter 2013 blllarrrgg
Tumblr media
Zombie Crapper uhh I mean Hunter 2013
In a sea of direct to Walmart's cheap dvd rack of low budget horror and sci fi flicks, that put Danny Trejo on the cover, comes Zombie Hunter.
Generic title and generic plot.
Straight off I will say this is a little bit more polished and better paced then maybe of the soon to be in the dollar bin American mass produced B movies out there.
Stop me if you heard this plot before... Fiver o clock shadow rocking dude in a leather jacket drives the dessert roads of California in his beat up sports car with a shot gun at his side and a smoke in his mouth. Its after the zombie apocalypse and he is killing zombies for kicks and has no expectations to see any real people.  Oddly he comes across a far of random survivors hiding out while being cared for by a priest played by Danny Trejo. Danny is just cheap to get and he is a recognisable name so if you get him you can put his mug and name on the cover of your movie to get it actually released in retail stores. Also he does not have to be in your movie much.. which as misleading as some versions of this movies cover he for sure is not in this movie much at all.  He does get to tear his priest clothes off and fight a mutant cgi zombie that looks like a real rip off of many of the creatures you would see in Resident Evil but thats about it.  Alot of the designs in this movie look cool but are completely just Resident Evil creatures. The mutants as well as the crazy people who have gone mad from eating zombie tainted meat (thats how we get one chainsaw wielding killer Clown which is kind of fun for a moment)
Tumblr media
Also (hang on let me rant here for a moment) when ever there is a monster or zombie with a lot of effects, make up or CGI the camera flashed purple or blue and gets shaking as well as adds that awful fake grindhouse film scratching. This is not an esteque anyone wants... it was funny in the movie Grindhouse but the joke is over. We all know you are just hiding and distracting us from your cheap effects. I know I can speak for many people when i say.. show the shit effects in normal lighting, we will have our giggle and move past it. Cause trust me we are gonna laugh at the shit acting and over done stereotypes way more anyway and you cant blur that with a blue light camera filter.
Tumblr media
Seriously the mysterious wandering hero talks in the worst Solid Snake voice that makes me just want to slap him silly with a dead fish. Our hero wandered in a leather jacket that looks like Sting (the singer not the wrestler) crossed with a strung out Constantine does not have the presence to walk around talking in an anime tough guy voice with out it being a complete joke.  This movie is not taking itself that seriously but it is also not as funny as that either to merit his joke voice.   Annnyways the hero called .. wait for it.. Hunter... sigh ... reluctantly teams up with the rag tag group of survivors after Danny Trejo is killed by mutant super claw monsters. Oh yeah spoiler Danny eats it early. They “team” try to get to a hidden away airplane so they can make a new go of it on a near by island... ya like I said zombie slash mad maxish stereotype.. move along.
Tumblr media
We get two girls , one the obviously slutty one and the other the innocent “smart one”. In terrible stereotype the innocent smart one gets laid by the hero and right away lets her hair down starts to look sexy and now is tough enough to defend her self to... well thats what quick sex with a strange will do to you. Then we get the cliche slutty girl that is basically there to be annoying but just leads to that american movie myth that in the dessert there will always be a big boobed blonde in a small t shirt and cowboy boots. It’s these kind of stereotypes that I find entertaining but when you stop and write about it you realise that zombie or nuclear apocalypses near desserts tend to be very white ... odd isn’t it?
We get in this movie....
Stereotype anti heros...
Cameo of Danny Trejo so there is at least one mexican still in California..
One mad max style car that crashes early cause it probably didn't work anyhow..
Many zombies that can have there heads cut off with simply the use of a knife..
Many cgi mutants...
Cleavage...
A killer clown with a chainsaw, like I mentioned.
And 2 different moments where we watch people pee (cause that is obviously entertainment for your money).
All rolling up in an ending you have seen many times before packed in with songs by bands that sound like they should be called “3 doors theory of a nickleback calling”  The kind of feeling that makes you realise that a Nevada truck stop in an apocalypse or right now would be no different what so ever.
I have seen many cheapie zombie movies in the direct to dvd or streaming section of the last few years and shockingly this is one of the better ones... listen what I am saying is this genre is fucking shit. I watch these movies so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.  Now watch me walk away as I light a smoke while I walk away from a gas station... throws my match over my shoulder.. mutters.. “who gives a fuck anyways” as the match touches a puddle of gasoline and BOOM everything explodes behind me as I keep watching in slow motion while popping the collar of my jacket and putting on some old sunglasses..... hear that guitar ..... fuck ya....     ... ...   fart

Hey, what’ve you been up to today? It’s only 12:57AM, so I’m gonna talk about yesterday instead. Yesterday my brother and I went to Lowe’s to pick up a new wreath and look around at all the 50% off Christmas decorations. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks. That’s exciting stuff for me, guys. I did something at least, ha. We were supposed to decorate the tree, too, but we’re slackin. He did put the lights on it, though. He’s been really into decorating this year, which I’m glad about because usually I’m the only one who really gets into it and I have to keep bugging him and my dad to get the stuff from the garage and put up the lights. He’s on top of this year; though, so yay. Do you like Chinese food, Mexican food, or American food better? Mexican and American. Is your TV HD? Yeah. What’s your favorite thing to order from Taco Bell? Bean burrito, no onions, extra sauce with 2 Doritos tacos is my usual order, but I’ve also been getting the rolled chicken tacos they have out for a limited time right now. Oh, and like 2-3 sides of sour cream. What do you think of off-brand soda? I don’t care.
Do you save pennies? I mean, I’m not going to throw them away. It is money, after all. Honestly, I pay majority of the time with debit so I don’t have to worry much about change. Are there any windows in your room? Yes. What’s your favorite scent? Coffee, the salty ocean air, coconut, freshly baked/cooked desserts and food, mint, rain, vanilla, patchouli, cinnamon... Do you like hot, cold, or lukewarm showers? Hot. Not scorching hot, but hot. Do you know what all the buttons on your remote control do? Yeah. If you could house any pet, what would it be? I wish it were possible to have giraffes as pets, ha. Do you smoke cigarettes? No. What about weed? No. Do you pluck your eyebrows? Yes. Do you keep your room clean? Yeah. It gets a little cluttery at times, but right now that’s because I have Christmas decorations up all over and a pile of packages. My room is small, so it doesn’t take a lot. Do you carry a wallet or a purse? I carry a purse with a wallet inside. Would you rather it rain or snow? I love rainy weather. It doesn’t snow here, but I wish it did. Dark hair or light hair? Whichever. Personally, my natural hair color is dark brown and I wish it were lighter. I dye it red; though, so. What kind of body wash do you use? I use Caress bar soap. Do you grit your teeth a lot? No. Do you like to swing? I haven’t sat on a swing since I was a kid. How about jumping on a trampoline? I can’t. Do you like when it snows, or does it just ruin your plans? It doesn’t snow here. Do you like the taste of beer? No. What are you favorite color eyes? Blue or green. Are you toe nails currently painted? No. Do splinters really hurt as bad as people portray them to? I honestly don’t even remember the last time I had one, but from what I can remember, I they do hurt. I just don’t remember if it was unbearably bad or not. I don’t think it was that bad? Have you ever had Vodka and Red Bull? Yes. Futhermore, what’s your favorite energy drink, if any? Starbucks Doubleshot. Do you have long eyelashes? No, but good mascara can make them look long. Do you have long fingernails? I barely have fingernails. :X Do you have long arm hair? No. Do you shave your legs? I haven’t in a long time. My legs really don’t get any hair, so it’s not an issue. Is your hair healthy? I mean, I’ve dyed and bleached it a lot, but my hairdresser always says it’s healthy. Perhaps because I go so many months between each dye or bleach cause I’m a slacker. How often do you wash your hair? Every 2-3 days. Do you love Family Guy, or hate it? I don’t really watch it. Like, my family does so I catch some parts and there’s been funny stuff, but I don’t pay much attention and it’s not something I would put on to watch. Do you speed? I don’t drive. Does your family put up Christmas lights? Yep. What third generation console is your favorite? PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii? We have a Wii and we used to have an Xbox 360. By we I mean my brother, but I’ve used them. Do you use a closet or a dresser to put your clothes in? Both, as well as a hamper and my bed. I have too many clothes and not enough space. I’ve gone through my clothes and got rid of stuff, too. What do you think about guys who wear pink? I don’t care? Which do you like better – carpet or wood floor? Wood floor. If you could have any car, what kind would it be? *shrug* Do you cuss a lot? Nope. What religion are you? Christian. Do you like leather? Faux leather. Have you ever done drugs? Just weed. What’s your favorite fast-food restaurant? Taco Bell. Do you like kids? “i dont mind kids, but i dont want any children of my own” <<< Same. I mean, they can be cute and all, but I can only handle them in small doses. They can get overwhelming and I don’t have their energy. How often do you like to have sex? Never have. Do you do your own laundry? No. Do you have a cell phone or do you use a house phone? I have an iPhone. We have a house phone, but we just use it for doctors and things like that. Do you throw shit under your bed? No. Are you any good at math? Nopeee. Do you like Dairy Queen? I haven’t been there since I was a kid. Are you currently in college? If not, do you plan on going? I graduated in 2015. How the fuck are your grades anyway!? They were A’s and B’s. Do you skip school often? I did sometimes in college.

Vanilla is a spice derived from orchids in the genus vanilla. Presently, Madagascar, Mexican, and Indonesian are the three main species of vanilla grown globally.
Since vanilla has various benefits, it is used across multiple sectors, such as pharmaceuticals, F&B, personal care, and animal feed. It has emerged as a popular flavoring agent in various food products. Besides this, it is used in spice blends, mixes, etc. Vanilla also has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties, which has surged its inclusion in skincare products. Therefore, the rising use of vanilla has widened the scope and growth of the studied market.
On the contrary, the fluctuating costs and issues pertaining to the supply chain restrict the vanilla market’s growth globally.
Globally, the Asia-Pacific is expected to witness the fastest growth over the forecast period. China’s vanilla consumption in the region is high, owing to the demand for creams, chocolates, drinks, and other vanilla-induced products. Furthermore, due to low vanilla production, global players are setting operations to expand their consumer base. For instance, Grupo Tecnaal, a Mexican producer, expanded its operation by launching vanilla products at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The Japanese government also leverages global demand for vanilla beans via local production projects. Thus, these factors are fueling the vanilla market on a growth path.
McCormick & Company, Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Organic Spices Inc, Kerry Group Plc, Döhler GmbH, Givaudan SA, International Flavors & Fragrances, Sensient Technologies Corporation, Adams Extract, Madagascar Vanilla Company, Firmenich SA, Archer Daniels Midland Company, Eurovanille, Touton SA, and Symrise AG are major companies in the vanilla market.
The vanilla market is highly dynamic due to rising consumption across multiple end-user industries. However, there is a need for high capital investment, which makes it difficult for new players to set up operations. Innovation is also an integral part of the market, and thus new players with a functional advantage over other products may have the upper hand on the market. As a result, the threat of new entrants is expected to remain moderate over the forecast period.
