this is coming out of left field but i've been holding this in since 2016 and i need to speak my truth. the pre-school master uniforms in the ever never handbook are inherently racist because why is the school for good represented by french rococo-esque fashion while the school for evil is represented by mangled pseudo-qing dynastry attire that's been wrung through the lens of old western black and white films. i didn't expect to see orientalism in a YA fantasy series but there it was i guess??? the continued villainification of the east is popular in fantasy so i should have expected that, and i was kind of put-off by the depictions of the east/south asian-coded characters in the books so...

(idk if it was just me, but the nevers' eyes look a bit more tilted than their ever counterparts' eyes.) i love the school years trilogy, i really do,but everything about this spread was a choice, and i mean that literally. someone sketched a design, it got approved, outlined, painted, and published. there were various choices that got made here and you kno i'm kind of insulted they didn't go the extra mile and put an east asian never in there to complete everything. also, what is that nevergirl's neckruff?

My thoughts for the ending of the Disney Fairies Franchise - Part 1

Given that that the Tinkerbell movies abruptudely ended in 2015, without giving us a proper ending to Tink's story, I wanted to share my thoughts with you on how it would continue and it's finale. But first I'm going to give you my insight on the franchise' different continuties.

First off, we can all agree that the movies and the books don't share the same continuty, despite being prequels and sequels, respecteviley, to Peter Pan. But then I thought that the movie could belong to only one of these storylines, namely the books. To clarify: the Gail Carsson Levine trilogy, the chapter books, the graphic novels, and the Nevergirls series, all take after the original 1953 movie and it's sequel, but don't have the same background regarding Tinkerbell's first years and her friendships as in the movies (ex: Tink's interactions with some of the movie characters like Vidia, or the fact that fairies in leader positions look older than the others, despite the books stating they can't age, and LOTNB implying that they aren't even immortal). So I think that the movies have their own storyline, and that the story of Peter Pan and the Darling children that would follow them, would actually be a reboot of the original classic, one that would be in the same continuty as the movies. Consequently, the trilogy books and the rest of the material are not part of their storyline at all.

How would that work, you may ask? I'm going to post other parts of this soon, because I don't want to dwell on the details right here, otherwise the post would be too long!

It is ironic that the theme song of Evergirl says that it doesn’t matter if you are short or tall yet the clothing line lacked size inclusivity so as a result I was too tall and large chested for the clothing line despite being in the age range. I cried so hard and felt disillusioned by the brand because the message I got was “every girl can be an Evergirl, except for tall freaks like you” like I get it I was an outlier but at least Limited Too had juniors sizes and was inclusive so it was doable. It was a huge source of a lot of my body image issues. I was more like a nevergirl than an evergirl.

Tedros: 8/10. his smile is very accurate to his personality. i love his eyes, i’d be down to get lost in them. he DOES looks like a chad or a walter, and someone got carried away threading his eyebrows but idc i love my funky bisexual boy

Agatha: 9/10. I'd die for her and she looks like she'd gently protest before letting me. Nice eyes. Witchy thin eyebrows. Is that a dimple I see? yeah, she cute. soman stop calling her ugly challenge

Sophie: 8/10. I don't have much to say but this seems about right. I love her facial proportions, her upturned nose and the hair. she looks like the  volley ball girl who bullied me in middle school. 

-10/10 not my beatrix. she looks like a Karen. She’s gonna ask to see my manager and I’m just gonna pretend I work there to avoid conflict. 

5/10 ok it’s not that bad, he is described as a beefy lad, but when i was doing the handbook redraws chaddick came out super trippy bc i didn’t know how to draw the head:neck ratio without making it look unbalanced. It could be better and it could be worse. at least he’s not white, right?

10/10 she could pour soup on my lap and i’d apologize to her. i am a Reena Loving Individual and everyone needs to know that. Look at her smile. look at her eyes. she knows i’d do anything for her. ugh. queen shit. 

10/10: look at her dimples and her round face and tell me you wouldn’t marry her the second she apologizes for bumping your shoulder in a crowded hallway. look me in the eyes. yeah. i know, me too.

8/10: cute man idk i love her. do you think kiko listens to girl in red? 

5/10 i don’t even know who this is but he looks like he’d listen to eminem unironically. he’s the token straight on thin ice. 

7/10 I think I’m being too mean. this is pretty good, i love it . i always thought she’d have a pixie cut but this is cool too. no one takes the nevers calling themselves ugly seriously bc of this goddess 

10/10 exactly how i always pictured her. love how she threatened the painter to let her rats stay or they face her wrath. very cool of her. 

8/10 I don’t have a big opinion on Hort but he looks okay. actually tbh it looks great for him, he’s not too hot, or ugly. it’s meh. like hort. 

6.5/10 Ravan sweetie I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Points for the original book accuracy and the fact i like dudes w long hair ((nah but like give this man a reason to smile and he could be a ten not even lying))

The List Of Things I Am No Longer Allowed To Do At SGE

I am not allowed to do the Thriller dance at the Snow Ball. 

I am not allowed to give cookies shaped like pigs or girls in red hoods to the wolves. 

Not allowed to train my Sidekick Challenge animal to ask random Evergirls to make a contract with them and become a magical girl. 

There is no open mic night at SGE. 

Telling first-years they can tame the crogs with tummy rubs is right out. 

Not allowed to capture fairies, crogs, spiricks, stymphs, or anyone’s sidekicks in pokeballs. 

Not allowed to purchase anyone’s soul at lunch. 

Not allowed to fill my homework with song lyrics from movies or TV shows. 

Fairies are not Christmas decorations, currency, surveillance drones, or replacements for lost sports balls or weapons.  -okay. They kind of are surveillance drones. 

Not allowed to gel my hair into the shape of a large number 1 above my head for a class challenge involving hairstyles. 

I am not allowed to start contests for who can make the biggest explosion in ANY of my classes. 

I am not from an alternate timeline. 

Not allowed to train my sidekick challenge animal to attack the wolves. 

I am not allowed to create and distribute an abridged version of The Tale Of Sophie And Agatha. 

I am not allowed to stage “The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny” and convince/bribe the entire Nevers Leader Track to battle each other using their talents in the middle of the clearing. 

Not allowed to use unapproved spells to repeatedly duplicate my sidekick in the challenge and create a cult dedicated to myself. 

Not allowed to chew gum during Surviving Fairy Tales. 

Definitely not allowed to chew gum and pass it off as Meerworms to avoid eating real ones. 

I cannot Pinky Love Shoot anything into oblivion. 

I am not associated with the SCP Foundation, neither am I an SCP. 

Sparkly body paint is not a substitute for my uniform. 

I am not allowed to vote people out of my Forest Group. 

I am not allowed to add the Necronomicon to other people’s required reading lists. 

I will not sell tickets to the Gallery of Good or the Exhibition of Evil. 

Not allowed to bribe students, fairies, wolves, nymphs, or ANYONE else into running and screaming whenever I quote Bee Movie. 

“She won’t shut up about TMA” is not a valid excuse to drop someone into the moat. 

I am not allowed to cast myself into the moat for having “become the very thing I swore to destroy”. 

I will not read My Immortal out loud to Nevers. 

There are no killer clowns in the Blue Forest. 

That one Neverboy does not count as a killer clown. 

The “I Hate Japeth” Club is not a proper extracurricular. 

A stymph is not an option as my Ball date. 

Putting huge amounts of sugar in Sophie’s cucumber juice, while hilarious, becomes less amusing when I get sent to the Doom Room. 

“Baby Shark” is not an appropriate song for choir. 

The proper response to being ambushed and trapped by spiricks in Surviving Fairy Tales is not to magically draw an eye on my hand and scream to the Evergirls in my group about how they’re going down. 

I am not allowed to hum or sing my own spy theme music everywhere I go. 

Not allowed to go to class in any form of Halloween mask. 

Nevergirls do not all weigh the same as ducks. 

No Evil teacher is interested in appearing as the “before” picture for a line of cosmetics. 

I am not allowed to challenge any other students to Agni Kai. 

The wolves do not want flea collars. 

Stink bombs were funny exactly once. 

I am not allowed to send copies of the Evil Overlord List to Leader-track Nevers. 

Garlic does not ward off any Nevers. It probably does the opposite, really. 

No part of the school uniform is edible. 

I am not allowed to do the Macarena at the Snow Ball. 

The wolves did not eat my homework. 

I am not allowed to teach first-year Evergirls to say insults and cuss words in animal languages, under the guise of helping them with their Animal Communication homework. 

I am not allowed to arrange flash dances to happen at random during the day. 

I am not an avatar of anything and I will not starve to death if I don’t scare prank my classmates on a regular basis. 

Not allowed to prove that “the pen is mightier than the sword” by dueling the Storian. 

I will not organize an SGE Fight Club. 

Not allowed to lap dance people at the Snow Ball. 

The fairies are not there to do my homework. 

Not allowed to ask Uma when we’ll learn about Furbies. 

Braiding spiricks together is right out. 

I will not start food fights in the Clearing and purposely escalate them into violence that ends in someone getting sent to the Doom Room.

- The middle child, hence why he constantly craves attention

-Loves swordfighting and is lowkey Tedros’ favourite

-Straight but some people think he’s bi??? 

-Somewhat a carbon copy of Tedros except he’s slightly nicer and more understanding 

-Loves any kinds of sports

-Huge overachiever and very competitive

-Light brown hair and blue eyes. Tan skin.

-Many Evergirls have a crush on him lol except there’s one edgy-type Evergirl with black hair he has a huge crush on but she calls constantly him “vain and pompous” and generally finds him gross

-Middle name is William to honour William lol

-An Ever, obviously

-Ends up becoming the new Swordsplay and Training teacher

-Youngest child

What They Call You (Liam Dunbar)

You had known Liam for a very long time, ever since first grade when he got mad at a kid for bullying you. That was when you two became friends, him being there to help you out of situations while you helped him calm down when his anger came out to play.

Even after Liam was kicked out of school and had to go to Beacon Hills High, you both kept in touch. Mostly texting and emails, but there were also the few times you got to hang out.

Something happened after school started up, he just suddenly fell off your radar. He never answered his phone when you texted or called, your emails went unanswered, and when you went to ask his step-dad at the hospital you only received the answer of ‘he’s just been busy, I’m sure you’ll hear from him soon.’

Not only had be stopped talking to you, now you had to deal with the bullies from school on your own. Before, he was always there for you when you called, needing someone to vent to. Now you were alone.

For some reason, you went from being his Evergirl to his Nevergirl.

Hiding your emotions behind a death glare, you walked around school and stayed quiet. No one noticed, but why would they? You were only wanted when they needed someone to tease.

“Why the look,” Brett Talbot asked you one day when the halls were empty.

You glared up at him, your hands curling into fists inside your pockets. You weren’t in the mood to deal with the bully, just like you weren’t in the mood to deal with his crap anymore. “Why do you care, Talbot?”

Brett’s nostrils flared for a second before calming himself down. “You haven’t been yourself lately so I thought you might need someone to talk to.”

Even though you found it strange that the jock was speaking to you as a human, you answered, “What I need to for someone to remind Liam that I still exist and that he left me alone.” Your eyes widened at realizing you told Brett everything.

Brett only smirked, looking at you with mischief in his eyes. “I’ll make sure to tell him when I see him at the game this Friday.”

Friday night came and went with you sitting in your room, staring at the ceiling. Then you heard your phone go off from a text. Noticing who it was from, you couldn’t wait to read it.

Hey, Evergirl, have a question for you: why the hell did you send Talbot after me and why are you even talking to him?

You couldn’t believe what Brett did: he actually did what he said he would. You proceeded to text back:

I thought I was Nevergirl now; needed someone to talk to since you haven’t been around, and Brett was more than willing. Go back to being busy.

Your phone went off again, but this time you didn’t even look. Even when your ringtone played for Liam, you ignored it, instead you turned your phone off and rolled over so your back was to the cell. If he wanted a Nevergirl, he was gonna get one.
