Today YT algorithm carried me into the world of DnB music scene, specifically history of a particular artist known as Sewerslvt, and you know, sometimes this unknowable neuro machine guesses right.

I'm not well versed in music community and its creators, so everything about this was new to me. Well, except for the genre itself, but that's not much.

Watched the entire thing, and boy the title didn't lie - her history really is sad. In a compelling way, mind you. And I think Nodles did a great job presenting it such. The empathy for the artist is unmistakable in his retelling.

And, of course, after that I went ahead and took a listen to her albums separately. And then I spammed all my friends with links to her tracks because I can't stay silent when I'm introduced to good music. I hope that paints a clear picture of my thoughts on it, haha.

Too bad that Sewerslvt's distribution company at the time stole her Spotify account and cut off her revenue from streaming there, so let's use yt links instead.

i listened to Polychrome by KOAN Sound recently. the vibe and atmosphere is immaculate, rather than throwing catchy basslines with energetic chords at you it draws you into a textured, open world. not to say there aren't any similar in style to their previous works, for instance Prism Pulse is more of the classic jazzy, bouncy basses they're known for. some tracks lean more into the glitch hop, swung beats while others delve more towards a blend of upbeat, rolling dnb breaks with liquid-y, almost atmospheric background melodics and their signature neuro basses. the closing track is filled to the brim with crunchy and melodic foley in a chilled-out, vaguely dubstep package. the album makes liberal use of physical instruments like much of their post-Funk Blaster work, such as guitars or kalimbas. Polychrome is unique in feel and solidifies the duo as immensely talented artists who enjoy pushing boundaries and making something wholly them.
