The Kwanzaa tag/search is for Black people and Black art. If you are typing "Kwanzaa" in your post or tags, ask yourself this: Does this post need to come up in a Black person's search for Kwanzaa content?

If that answer is "no," get it outta there.

Just wanna wish everyone a Happy Kwanzaa? Okay. Fine. Is there a Black person or Black art in the photo attached? Are there Kwanzaa aesthetics in it? Is it only text? Okay. Allowed.

It's hard enough to find anything for Black people on this very white, very antiblack site, and y'all still manage to find ways to distance Black people by taking up Black specific space.

Why do I keep seeing non panafrican, nonblack, non afrocentric, nonafrican descent faces and art in my Kwanzaa searches?

Hi, I really love your Aus a lot, especially the Golden Circus and Jade Monkey, I think the stories are so creative and I have a few questions if you don't mind

1- In golden circus I would like to know if you intend to explore more of this story, like what is this circus and who is managing it, and also if it have other attractions (trapped creatures) or employees because in one of your drawings there was someone with wukong besides from macaque and I thought it was nesha so I would really like to know more about

2- Another thing that I wonder a lot if you intend to explore the past for example how macaque got trapped in the painting and was "found" or maybe bought by the circus but mainly how the circus managed to capture a creature as powerful as wukong, I would love to know more about that like flashbacks or something

3- i would like to know if wukong has any side effects because of these forced power drains, like memory loss or behavior change or something and also if the blush only drains the power or if it also has the spell on it

4- And lastly because i think i get pretty big already kk (sorry about that) , just a complete answer to the question above, if the wukong ever tried to run away from the circus and was stopped by the spell or the power drain, or if he was so weak that he didn't even think about that possibility

Hey there! I do plan on fleshing out the au more! (Except for Jade Monkey, I'm currently breaking down and rebuilding that one)

1: My current issue is currently figuring out who I want to be behind the circus because I already have different roles for all of the previous antagonists. I'm hoping the special will introduce more characters and help with that but I was also considering making and oc to take that place but I'm just concerned they won't be that good.

2: Yes there are plenty more attractions including Red Son, Nezha, Yin+Jin, Spider Queen, Peng, Wukong, and Macaque.

3: I do plan to cover how Wukong and Macaque were covered I just need to finish a drawing for Macaque before I post it. As for Wukong, covering his is a little difficult because I need to figure out who I want the main antagonist for the au before I can post it.

4: It's a spell that drains Wukong's powers. The fillet is used as a form of punishment for him (and sometimes Nezha but I'll get into that later.) The only affect to the spell is that all of Wukongs energy is drained along with his powers to the point that he can't function without someone by his side depending on when the spell was last used.

5: Wukong has considered running away but never actually attempted it. He's being pretty heavily manipulated and considers one of his captors as a parental figure.

Sorry I know I didn't provide a drawing this time around but I figured I'd give you all something since I know a few of you are waiting for it.

long(ish) post, beware!

hello everyone! i have this bad habit of starting something and then immediately abandoning it, so i am doing my best to not do that here KSFJGSFKJG! jokes aside, today is finally the day i'm doing "spring cleaning" (can you do that on an account that's barely open?), so read on for a couple of important updates! some of this stuff is eventually going to be moved onto my page fully, but for now i just need to get it out of my head and on the dash.

1. i...belatedly realized i had a brain fart when i set up the account and forgot to open my askbox. asks are on now! (anons will not be accepted.)

2. i'm going to be finishing up the tumblr page tonight: adding bios, rules, etcetera. i have a rules doc as of right now (which i'll be adding to the page for easier reading), and eventually i'd like to make a full doc/dossier for each character, but it's just not viable with my schedule at the moment.

3. after i finish up the page, i'll create a pinned post (for easier legibility on mobile that can't see desktop themes) and a starter call! i'm always open to dms from mutuals—i'm a bit crap at plotting because i tend to run on how the characters and writing styles vibe together, but i'm always open to it! you'll just have to bear with me.

4. speaking of a starter call, i'm also going to be double-checking my moots rules/carrds and such, as well as filling out any interest trackers. been swamped with work, so i just want to make sure i haven't missed anything.

5. i'm still very new to indie rp here on tumblr, and therefore i don't understand some terms yet (if anyone wants to explain mains and exclusives to me i would love you forever). but if i ever interact with a character that's exclusive or anything, just shoot me a message and let me know! i likely didn't even realize.

6. (this will be added to the page later!) just wanted to touch on how i'm handling show versus book canon. first of all, i love the show, and it is indeed what inspired me to start the account, so that's where a lot of my inspo is coming from right now. i treat the show as almost like an au from the books—because i think it is: they did an amazing job respecting the source material, but i'm well aware it's not 100% accurate. plus, it's been a bit since i read the books—honestly, i'm due for a reread lmao. so, my main verse for kaz, jesper, and wylan will be shadow and bone (tv). i am completely open to writing in the six of crows/grishaverse novel canon, and if you would prefer to write there, that's awesome—let me know! just know that (as of right now) the show is my default. [ nesha is going to be a bit different, so i'll play him more on a case by case basis. ]

I do not play any video games.

I've never had the coordination, attention span, patience etc. Whatever it takes, never been my thing. I'm bad at most things that have to be played. Games, sports, you name it. Aside from old school Tetris and fighting or racing games, I used to watch cousins play stuff when I was younger and boyfriends when I was a little older, but like... I think the last video game I saw was my brother playing that witch hunter lady (Bayonetta?) and whatever Devil May Cry was around after he got out of the army and I was getting a divorce and we were both back at my folks. That was like... Almost a decade ago. Whew.

My ex and her kid play videogames A LOT, but I was less inclined to watch during my run with them. I don't know a thing about a current video game.

I tell him, "that'd be like me telling you that I can use any of the slurs there are for Hispanics just bc ppl use them here in Florida". He asks me, "which ones? Go ahead, use them." To which I sensibly declined. Cus wtf do i get out of it, right? I didn't proposition him w this dumbass conversation.

I'm even more lost as to what he was looking to gain by following up w just saying nigga anyhow — but before I could think ab it I checked him. Quick af. Harsh af. Now he acting squeamish like the white ppl when they fuck up on the same damn thing. This is why this "pee oh see" shit just doesn't hit for me. This is why I steer clear of that, "we're all the same/experience oppression the same way" shit. Bc of shit like this. When nbpoc intentionally say/do antiblack shit this out of pocket. I know this is an odd place to do this, but I just want to clear the air with her first real quick and say when I was yelling the other day about people not liking my posts, I wasn't speaking directly to her. I had strangers that had literally never spoken to me and literally never liked my posts, liking my ones about being a bad friend and maybe they just. Understood the feeling or something but I was so upset it felt like they were agreeing so I got mad but. I know when she likes my posts it's her way of saying "I hear you and I love you" so. That wasn't aimed at her.

But, anyway!!!! There's so much I want to say here but I don't know how to articulate it! I feel like her and I sort of have a connection that I've never quite had with anyone else, and I cherish it so much. Like, she told me the other day that I might be one of the only ones that truly understands her heart, but I feel like I understand it because mine is similar in a lot of ways. She's one of those people that I know she goes through things and I just. It hurts me that I don't have the power to take it away or make it stop, but I hope that whatever I can provide gives her at least some kind of relief, even if it ends up it's just for a moment. Anybody that knows her, knows of her immense talent, like Road to Dystopia was a masterpiece and she gave us the Iconic Throuple that is Max/Charlotte/Chase (chasing thunderbolts? Is that correct, I cant remember). Like, name a more iconic trio, you can't. And I think she wrote a fic around when the pandemic started and I still think about it because it was so raw and real and amazing and just. So uniquely Nesha, and I mean that in the absolute best way possible. Like I just mean she knows how to write in a way that makes you truly feel both for the characters and what the characters are feeling. ALSO HER ART!!! I don't even care if I know the fandom or not, I see her art, I will appreciate it cause it's all god tier. And we all know she's one of the most supportive people in this fandom, like I'm sure she's sick of me bringing up her support of DoD but I never quite had friends in my life that cared about my projects that much or really showed any interest at all, so to have someone that supports it so much, especially when a lot of us kinda hate HD now and she isn't really familiar with Suite Life besides me going insane and the few episodes we streamed, is just. That's an indescribable feeling that I'll never be able to fully thank her for. That fic is as much hers as it is mine now, like I'll literally write it thinking "will Nesha like this?" and if the answer is no, that part gets scrapped 😂 and I don't mean that in a pressuring way but just, she inspires me to be better. I've been contemplating coming to her for her zodiac knowledge because I'm deciding the birthdays of some OCs and if there is anyone's opinion I trust on the matter, it'd be hers 😂

This is already so long and I could honestly go on all night, but basically I just hope she knows how much I love and cherish her and how much she truly means to me 💕💕

I was agreeing with them about how people take terms related to social justice issues and misuse them, and how in the process, the movement suffers. The thing which Nesha mentioned. Which was why I replied to them specifically.

How do you suggest I reply to her if not by reblogging her post?

How does me replying to her alone stop anyone else from replying to anyone else? Is anyone required to acknowledge what I said if they don't want to?

If this were a conversation in real life, I would have said directly to NeshaTriumphs "yeah, I hate it when people steal and twist terms." and that would be it.

But if you have a better idea on how to talk to someone on this site (something nobody has figured out so far), tell us. Otherwise, sorry, but the fact is, people can have side conversations without it being "derailing".

WEEK FOUR: GENERAL PROMPTS ♡ 1/27 | Fluff #1

So, in true Nesha fashion, I’m gonna go a little bit in a direction that I’m unsure of whether or not it’s what is being sought out, but my interpretation of the prompts. Idk if I’ll keep up with it this week. We’ll see what type of feedback I get about today’s… Which… Anybody paying any attention to me will know that Fluff is not my ministry, but I’ll give it a try. Here is my premise: I am going to take the AU universes that I put out last week and give y’all a drabble for each with this week’s concepts. At least, that’s my goal. So, here goes.

No Capes AU   ♡ Charlotte, Student Mentor

There he was. Henry Hart. he was at his locker, which wasn’t very far from Charlotte’s and he actually didn’t look as tired as usual… but then again, school had just started. Piper rushed up and slammed herself against the locker next to him, and began talking to him, excitedly. He smiled at her, but wasn’t responding very much. It seemed more like he was a venting board for whatever she was speaking about. Charlotte watched the two of them for a moment. Piper, looking extremely animated and passionate and Henry just listening, sometimes making a face, but for the most part, smiling down at her. Then, whenever he closed the locker, she perched herself onto his arm and they began walking away. Charlotte wished she had a sibling in moments like that. There wasn’t a person that she could be that way with, except for Jasper, and that wasn’t QUITE the same because she couldn’t even go to his house. It was just cute to see the sibling love. They were sort of like parent/child, sort of like besties. She didn’t GET it, but she loved to see it.

Next day, whenever she saw Henry at his locker, she went over. “Hi, Henry.” He froze whenever he heard her voice, a thing that didn’t escape her notice, but he glanced at her and just nodded his head once in acknowledgment. “So, I wanted to touch base with you. I’m sure that Piper told you that I’m her student mentor for the program this year, so that means that I’ll probably be around your house some, for tutoring or whatever else. Wanted to see how you felt about that…”

“Because of what happened with us?” He wondered. “I’m fine. I’m over it. Just… don’t do that to her. She’s really a lot better than me and she deserves for somebody to invest some faith in her.”

“I… had faith in you…” Charlotte said, realizing that she didn’t even believe it when she said it at that moment.

“You had faith in yourself to change me, and when you couldn’t, it was because you didn’t have any in me. But, that’s okay. I’ve realized since then that I didn’t need to change. My surroundings needed to. And they kinda have, so… hooray for me. Don’t… use my sister for your transcript, Charlotte. I love you, but I would have to protect her if you seem to be doing something that might hurt her,”

Charlotte laughed, “You love me? Okay, Henry.” She rolled her eyes and shook her head.

Henry narrowed his and looked at her curiously, “Well, love is a choice and it is an action word. It isn’t a feeling. You were good to me in the best way that you knew how to be and I, being a grateful person who appreciates the good that is given me, have chosen to love you for it. I mean… nobody picks on you like they used to. Creeps stay away. If anybody does try anything, I’ve got your back. Love doesn’t have to be flowers and serenades, Dude. I love you in the Henry way. So, deal with that however you’re gonna, and consider it when you handle Piper. Because with her, love is a choice AND a feeling, and I just don’t play when it comes to that kinda love.”

“I’m not gonna do anything to hurt Piper!” Charlotte said, flustered. By the suggestion and by that whole weird love confession that honestly sounded more like, “Charlotte, I consider you a valued friend.” But, was worded in a way that made her face hot and her hands fidgety.

“Better not,” Henry said and winked at her. “See you ‘round.” He gave her a friendly punch to the shoulder and walked off, leaving her warm faced and sweaty palmed. What TF just happened???

A/N: It also should be noted that since I chose to do this thing this way today, I can’t put it all in one post, because that would be a monster! So, I am posting separate universe shorts and I’ll put them on a master post per prompt for y’all. I have several more to go. Sorry or you’re welcome. Accept that which applies.

Megs:  *Laughs* Well, make yourself comfortable, my friend. 

Alex:  Oh, you know I will!

Megs: Yes, yes I do.  So I hear that you’re working on a book!  Should I start calling you AJ?

Alex:  Okay so ... as readers of Something Unexpected will know my name is Alex. My pen name, recently decided, is A. J. Brooks. *grins like an idiot* I give you permission to call me Alex.

Megs:  Okay ... AJ ... so tell me, when did you join this crazy place we call the tumblr choices fandom?

Alex: I guess I could say I joined in about November? I started playing choices in August, because what better time to start than in the final semester of your bachelor's degree? I posted my first fic on Choices Archive which was unbelievably shit (the fic not the site!). I read A Royal Mate by @hopefulmoonobject aka Nesha and was inspired to write “You, The Lion” around chapter…. 6? I stalked Nesha to Tumblr, which I've never used before, and set up @ownworldresident, thus began the end of my social life. Courtesy of a design degree it was already pretty rocky.

Megs:  Who needs a social life when we have choices, tumblr, and fanfic, right?

Alex: Right! We all need AUs to carry us through to the next chapter.

Megs: Speaking of the next chapter ... have you read all of the choices books?

Alex: Hehe… *grins sheepishly* I have not. I have, however, played TRR enough times to have played every book twice over.

Megs:  Yeah, I think we’ve all done that!  Okay, so who do you stan in TRR?

Alex: *in a monotone* Oh, gosh, what a difficult question. Gosh Meg that's so hard to answer… *feigns thoughtfulness, then grins and speaks normally* if Liam isn't gripping the headboard with one hand to steady himself… What's the point of playing?

Megs: I’ll answer that with one word:  Drake.

Alex:  *rolls her eyes* And that’s my cue to leave the stage. *Alex starts to get out of her chair*

*Megs grabs her arms to keep her in the chair.*

Megs:  Nooooo!  Stay!  Tell us what you do when you’re not writing fics!  Geeze!

Alex: Haha, you know I’d never leave you, beautiful!  Okay, what do I do when I’m not writing fics ... I write my novel, reblog writing advice, play choices, chat to (and spam with excerpts) Nesha, Alicia, Stef, Urica, Pam, and you of course, also I have friends here but I'm not sure if they know I'm alive … I mean, I think I went out last month. This is specifically for Alicia - HE WILL REMAIN FRIENDZONED.

Megs:  Awh, maybe you need to give this guy a chance?

Alex: Oh gosh, not you too!  Stop!  FRIENDZONED!

Megs:  I’m just saying, sometimes the friend can be the *eyebrows raise twice* “friend.”

Alex: So, I’m from Australia! I was born in Perth (Western Australia), grew up in country WA, moved over to Melbourne to get a big fancy degree from a big fancy Uni, which i did *lifts fists in victory* and I love it here! Lots of ... um ... hot guys. But I spend all my time as a resident of my own world so don't actually see them much. I think I will need to go to Europe to find myself a Rhys.

Megs: nice deflection ... and we’re back to Liam.  Hahah!  Okay, okay, so as anyone who follows you on tumblr knows, you love to talk about writing.  Tell us about your writing process.

Alex: What's a ‘process? *frowns quizzically* I haven't really trained myself enough to have one. I have a muse, she is incredible, if I'm stuck I give her a problem and go and do other things and my tigress works on it in the background. For example the last big thing I wanted was a new story to write, so about a week later I was washing dishes or something and she went LIAM BANGS AN ASSASSIN and that's how The Mark came about. In case you were wondering or something. i also really like walking through forests, that really puts me in touch with my tigress. It's how You The Lion started. *shrugs* otherwise it's just when I feel like it. If I'm angsty I write Rayne. If I'm frustrated (at myself) I write Anna. If I'm excited I write SU with Nesha. If I'm focused I write my novel. *smirks* that's it! *chuckles*

Actually, Megs, are you up for an acting challenge?

Megs:  Don’t you know it!  Did you bring a script with you?

Alex:  Oh, just a snippet of my favourite passage of all I have ever written.  It’s Liam and Lisa's argument.  It’s love and trust and loss and honesty and pain, it’s really a pity they were too badly injured for angry sex. *winks*

Megs:  I call reading Lisa’s lines!

Alex: Wha?  Oh, okay, I’ll play Liam ...

*both ladies stand up in the middle of the stage and read overly dramatically*

Liam/Alex: “I thought you loved me Lisa…”

Lisa/Megs:  “Of course I love you!”

Liam/Alex: “Then that should be enough to just my judgement…”

Lisa/Megs:  “YES! It should! It should be enough to trust and yet you don’t! You don’t trust me, you’re blinded by him and how DARE you use your rank over me! I don’t give a shit what your reasoning was Liam that is not okay.”

Liam/Alex “It was to -”

Lisa/Megs: “Keep me safe! Guess what! I can defend myself, as if you didn’t know that. I told you, you should have believed me, because you said you loved and trusted me EVEN THOUGH YOU DON’T and that should be enough!”

Alex:  And end scene!

I don't know if it makes sense without context and its only the dialogue but I love it!  You were a decent Lisa.  Though I’m not sure Lisa would have been quite so dramatic about it.

Megs:  You weren’t a half-bad Liam.  But i know he would have been more dramatic than you were being!  *wink*

*Both Alex and Megs starts to return to their seats - but Alex gets to Meg’s chair first.  Megs slowly goes to sit in the comfy teal green chair and gives Alex the side eye.*

Alex:  So Megs ... when and why did you decide to review and interview fanfic writers?

Megs:  What is it with my guests thinking they get to take over asking the questions?!  *Megs shakes her head in disbelief*  Hmm ... the first spotlight post/MFackenthal show was just over a year ago on May 5, 2018.  At that time, I wasn’t writing any fanfiction, but I wanted to give back to the community.  I don’t think I had even done a review post yet.  By that time I had written some posts to wish authors happy birthday or to highlight someone’s work that I was in love with ... but I had 100 followers and I wanted to celebrate that.  @maxattack-powell, @tmarie82, @lizeboredom, and a few others who aren’t here any more helped me come up with a way to spotlight the fanfic authors and I wrote a pilot episode of the Mfackenthal Show.  Ellen saw it, gave me this show, and the rest is history as they say.

Alex:  I love that you wanted to give back!  One last question ... *leans elbow on side of chair and rests chin on fingers to look at you, narrowing gaze* ... tell us one of your most fantastical Drake related dreams. Maybe you or someone can turn it into a one shot?

Megs:  Alex!  Oh my gosh!  Hahaha!  Hmmm ... okay ... well, the story would be an AU.  The MC, Megs - cause all the MCs are named Megs in my stories, is a Princess of a small country, but she’s gone into hiding because someone is after her and her family.  She goes to Cordonia and asks to help manage Liam’s social season.  She needs to stay behind the scenes so she can’t be in it.  She convinces Bastien, Liam, and Drake that she would be a good counselor/therapist for Liam - help him make decisions about who would be the best partner for him.  Of course, both Liam and Drake end up falling in love with Megs.  As always, Drake believes himself to be unworthy because he knows that Megs is a princess.  Megs is always very clear that she’s not in love with Liam and is in love with Drake.  All the forces keep Megs and Drake apart.  Drake eventually helps Megs get back to her country and Megs gets injured in a battle when she tries but fails to save her father from being murdered.  This means that Megs has to take the throne.  Drake tries to live without her, heading back to Cordonia.  Drake and Megs finally get together after her country and Cordonia enter trade negotiations and Liam sends Drake to make those negotiations. 

Alex:  *sighs* Megs, that’s beautiful.

Megs:  Thanks!  Probably not a one-shot though.

Alex: Probably not.  Alright - well, your producers are telling me that it’s almost time to wrap up the show.  So, I think it’s time for you and your audience to learn to do the shuffle!  So stand up.

*stands and looks at you expectantly until you do the same*

okay now drink this …

Megs:  uh ...

Alex:  Just drink it!  It's not poison *smirks as you drink and splutter then shrugs at your horrified expression and drinks the other half* don't worry it's just tequila. Okay follow me, stand there… music please… let's do this.

*proceeds to teach and dance and drink more and kiss the cameraman and fall over then get up and keep dancing like nothing happened*

--- several minutes later, both collapsed and grinning and slightly drunk ---

Please don't analyze me. I have a lot of problems. Urk.

Megs:  We’ll save the analysis for after the show! (hiccups) Alright folks (hic!)  I guess it’s time to go! 

Alex: *drunkenly* Omgosh I LOVE this fandom. Everyone is so friendly and (predominantly) positive *side eyes you* and creative and supportive and talented! I love you all. Thank you for being you, and if you interact with me, my fics, or anything I post, I consider myself honoured thank you!! To the fandom I will say keep being who you are. Every single one of you is incredible *shrugs excitedly, grinning*.
