Miranda Castle.
Château Miranda is a 19th-century castle built in the neo-Gothic style in the town of Sel, Namur, Belgium. Construction of the castle began in 1866 according to the design of the English architect Edward Milner. The castle was conceived as the summer residence of the Liedekerke De Beaufort family. However, the architect died before the construction was completed and the castle was completed without him. The construction was completed in 1907. Descendants of the old family lived there until the Second World War. During the war, the castle was occupied by German troops. After the war, the owners decided to move to France, and their luxurious castle turned first into an orphanage, and since 1958 into a holiday home for children of railway workers. Apparently, it was then that it received its second name, Chateau de Noisy (Noisy Castle).
Since 1991, Miranda has been abandoned, the costs of its maintenance being prohibitive. The local municipality offered to take them over, but the family refused, hoping to find a buyer. In parallel with the search for a buyer, the owner submitted a request to demolish the building, which was received in July 2015. Colossal funds were required to restore the abandoned castle; a partnership was organized to save Miranda, but the amount in question was 15-25 million euros. Two years later, a buyer was never found, and not everyone is able to donate their castle to the state…
“The castle has turned into ruins and poses a real danger to all those who illegally invade my private property,” this is how the owner explained the destruction of Miranda Castle.

Castle of Gaasbeek , southwest of Brussels.
Explore the interior of this impressive neogothic room.
Godfrey of Leuven probably had a castle built here around 1240 to defend the Duchy of Brabant against the County of Hainaut. During the ancien régime this was the center of the Land van Gaasbeek.
In 1388, the people of Brussels razed the castle to the ground. With this they took revenge for the murder of Everaard t'Serclaes by followers of the lord of the castle, Sweder van Abcoude, who subsequently rebuilt the castle.
A number of important families from the history of the Netherlands stayed there, including the Hornes and the Egmonts. The most famous was Count Lamoral of Egmont, who bought the castle in 1565, three years before his dramatic execution.
The interior was almost completely furnished during the 19th century and furnished with copies of examples from the Paris Musée de Cluny and other important collections: mantelpieces, paneling, ceilings, doors, stairs, murals. Most were executed by the Parisian firm of Malard and in exceptional cases by Victor Rousseau.

A masterpiece of German neo-Renaissance and Gothic revival architectural style, Peleş Castle is located in Sinaia, Romania. By form, Peleş is a palace but it is called a castle. It was built by the first Romanian king, Carol I, as a summer retreat. Later, it served as a royal residence until 1947. It is known to be the favorite castle of Carol I, who oversaw all of the construction and design process. The construction began in 1883 and ended in 1914.

The Enchanting Lichtenstein Castle
History Today we look at the picturesque Lichtenstein Castle, located on a cliff overlooking the Echaz Valley in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The castle’s location adds to its fairy-tale appearance and provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It remains a stunning example of the blend between literature and architecture, inspired by Wilhelm Hauff’s novel "Lichtenstein," and brought to life by Count Wilhelm of Württemberg between 1840 and 1842.

Hauff’s novel romanticized the ideals of medieval chivalry and heroism. The 19th century experienced a resurgence in interest in medieval history and architecture, a trend known as historicism. Count Wilhelm sought to create a physical embodiment of the novel's themes and settings. Neuschwanstein Castle itself was influenced by similar romantic and historicist ideals and a 2009 filming of "Dornröschen" - The Sleeping Beauty - further cemented Lichtenstenstein's place in popular culture. The family of the Dukes of urach which began when Wilhem was granted the title maintains ownership to this day. The castle serves both as a private residence for the family and a public attraction, allowing visitors to explore its historical and architectural significance.
What You Will See When you visit, you'll find the striking castle keep, complete with turrets and battlements that offer fantastic views of the surrounding Echaz Valley. The interior of Lichtenstein Castle is adorned with period furnishings, weapons, and armor, providing visitors with a glimpse into the romanticized vision of medieval life. Guided tours are available.

✧ yesterday I visited a really magical place with my family 🏰💀🕯️✨
…a neo-gothic Castle that have been built in the space of around 30 years at the behest of the painter Gennaro della Monica (around the end of 1800)…The Castle’s architecture is a unique example of design eclecticism: a mix of neo-gothic taste and medieval influence..the exterior of the building, that is the most impressive part, is full of pinnacles and covered with elaborated sculptures …including a really spooky vampire-man that *as you can imagine* struck me particularly! hope these images will bring you inspiration and magical vibes! 👌🏻🌙✨
👉🏻 if you’d like to visit it, the name of the f this enchanting place is Della Monica’s Castle (it took its name from its creator) and is located in the small city of Teramo 🌚✨
