... A fairly common question that came with varying answers. Tails, ears, and all extra appendages that Therians were born with were seen differently by those with them. Some would think of them similar to an arm or a leg while others would be more sensitive, putting higher emphasis on them, granting the privilege of touching their extra appendage to close friends- a sign of trust. 

So asking this question to someone you considered being very close with was an ultimate test of trust. Maybe you did or didn’t have this in mind when asking- only asking out of naive curiosity, yet to them it’d be a pretty high-tier test of trust and how they viewed your relationship.

“Nyahh? Where’s this come from?” Nekomiya turned to you, still munching on a mackerel as she spoke. “Hmm…” She thought for a second before smiling and nodding. “Okay, sure! Just don’t pull!”

You nodded, happy that she allowed you this privilege. Slowly you leaned forward and softly pressed down on the feline-Therian’s gray tail, feeling the soft short fur that were usually covered by the protective sleeve she wore. Nekomiya purred, ear twitching as she felt your hands caress her sensitive tails, shivering and wagging with giddiness- always so protective of her Therian appendages, it felt nice to have someone pet them- at least someone she trusted. 

Nekomiya would usually say yes if you asked her, only saying no when around other people- since some would take it as an open invitation or when they were sleeved, though that was usually when in Hollows or out in public. 

“Of course.” Lycaon spoke warmly, his voice the same cool even tone it always was. Yet as you attempted to pet his tail, it became a tall order, as every time you reached for it, the tail wagged wildly- nearly hitting you in the face with fluff. But once you finally got a handle on it, it felt soft, obviously impeccably taken care of, nothing less for Lycaon.

You pet it softly, small ‘Ooh’s and ‘Aahs’ as you felt the soft silver fur under your fingertips, running your hands with utmost care as to not accidentally cause any discomfort. Looking up to the Therian, you noticed his ears twitching, a satisfied smile on his face, a small hum of satisfaction as you pet him. 

A small part of him wished for you to continue, even as you let go and went back to whatever responsibilities you had. If you ever asked to pet him, as long as it wasn’t on the clock- though it was still debatable, he would happily allow it. 

“Huh?” She looked up from her phone, lollipop tilted slightly upward and tapping stopping, her usual bored look being sharper than before. Oh she was very familiar with people asking to touch her tail, being something incredibly big- a little over the length of her entire leg and the circumference of a dinner plate, it got a ton of attention wherever she went. Classmates, children, and weirdos at work would ask to touch, and she’d always tell them no. If they tried to forcefully touch her, she'd give em a good wack- not the children though, usually able to just move it away from their reach. Though at work, Lycaon was pretty good at being there at the right moment, kicking out any unruly customers or finding a way to tell them to buzz off in that professional manner that she couldn’t care enough to do.

Though she thought of it for a bit, the two of you were pretty close and you weren’t like the other weirdos, eh, if she didn’t like it then she’d just tell you. “Sure.” She leaned a little to give space for her tail. As your hand made contact with it, a small jolt went through her- unused to allowing people to touch her. “AhhhHhhh~...” You quickly pulled your hand back, worried that you'd done something wrong. “Oi, I didn’t say stop.” It felt as though she had become more annoyed that you stopped petting her tail than when you asked the question…

Ellen would be apprehensive but if the two of you were close enough, she’d let you touch it every once in a while. Usually away from other people, definitely not at school or at work.

SUMMARY: (Y/N) is a major horror fan, and intends to introduce his girlfriend to the wonders of fear.

It was just a simple horror movie night. You wanted to introduce Koleda to a well-renowned franchise; “The house on the hill in the hollow is haunted by my ethereal family.” You showed the movie to Koleda, her face completely confused by the scary cover contrasting the weird title.

After hearing that title, she thought it’d be easy to handle. Horror movies didn’t necessarily scare her, but your tastes were always more…striking, as Koleda would put it. Surely her boyfriend would spare her, right?

Once it started though, she knew it was a mistake to watch it with you. The soundtrack, cinematography, acting, and overall quality was outstanding. In any other genre this would be a delight, but for horror, this was Koleda’s nightmare.

She doesn’t scream, all fear being internal. But you can tell from her overly sweaty palms that she isn’t comfortable. Koleda has a hard time sleeping later, filled with paranoia, and requires a cuddle session with you.

You decided to be a little cruel to your girlfriend with this movie marathon. She never suspected her sweet, caring boyfriend to pick a horror movie where kids are brutally slaughtered.

She ran out of the room before the first killing could even finish, bawling her eyes out to Koleda. “Sweet pea! (Y/N) is a monster!” At first Koleda didn’t get what Grace meant, then she saw the movie herself and realized what had happened.

She’ll forgive you…eventually. Just give her some time and she’ll get over it, realizing how silly she was for getting that upset at a fictional characters death.

Bring it on. Nekomiya has seen way worse. It was a thing that sparked the start of your relationship. Your interest in the morbid horror and Nekomiya’s thick skin led to heated “debates” about the best horror films. Just don’t have those discussions near Anby.

None of your horror films really phased Nekomiya, even ones with thiren cats or street kids being the victims didn’t work. She’d always have the same smug smile on her face, tails swaying in the air behind her. “Can’t think of anything scary right meow, handsome?” She’d say.

Well now was a day that she would soon regret that smug attitude; if she’d at least pretended to be scared once then she maybe could’ve avoided her current predicament. You picked a 3D horror movie with high quality cgi and practical effects. The whole shabang.

Her tail was puffy, ears flattened down, and hands clutching her swords. You turned off the movie after she kept swinging them around, for fear of your safety and furniture (the furniture didn’t make it). You won the battle but lost the war.

You didn't mind at all keeping your girlfriend company on a sudden holiday. Nekomiya bluntly told you that all this was obviously arranged so that they would see you, to which you laughed and said that you could just come to meet them, but since you had the opportunity to eat for free, you were not going to give up on this. The guys Nekomata worked with turned out to be really good and you could rest easy knowing that she would be safe. You carried her in your arms and thought that next time you should invite them all somewhere, just as people you would like to make friends with, knowing that your girlfriend values them. SUMMARY: Nekomiya introduces the Cunning Hares to her boyfriend.

You’ve been Nekomiya’s boyfriend for a while now and she felt it was about time to introduce her friends to you; she’d love nothing more than for you to get along with her best friends and coworkers. And so, she invited everyone to a meal at Waterfall Soup on sixth street.

Nicole was the first to introduce herself, finding it most appropriate as boss of the Cunning Hares. She actually liked you pretty well. Especially when you paid for the meal and offered to buy desserts. Oh and you make Nekomiya happy, so you’re all good in her book.

Anby warmed up to you way quicker than anyone expected. “Now that Nekomata has a boyfriend, she’ll finally leave Nicole alone.” She only meant that halfheartedly, but she really is happy for the both of you. On the plus side you have money to buy her burgers and movies so expect lots of puppy eyes.

Billy already liked you since he already knew you; more specifically, you’re his usual teammate on snake at the arcade. He also likes to rave on and on about Starlight Knight and Oh Sweetie~, which you’re nice enough to listen to, so you’re welcomed in with open metal arms by Billy.

Overall, the Cunning Hares like you a lot and are very supportive of yours and Nekomiya’s relationship.

SUMMARY: (Y/N) is dating Nekomiya.

Nekomiya would have to really trust you in order for you to be her boyfriend; so much so that she’d die for you. Growing up in a gang, you never know when someone will betray you or try to get even. So having walls helps making important decisions easier. The fact that she’s dating you means those walls weren’t just broken down, they were used to create something new and safe; a home.

Speaking of homes, the Cunning Hares is like a new home for her, so you’re more than welcome to visit there anytime! The members are very happy for the two of you; Nicole even gave you a 10% discount on your first commission for the Cunning Hares.

Nekomiya is quite mischievous, using her agility and strength to perform harmless pranks. They can range from different kinds of torments, but with you it’s usually the same. A sweet kiss, hug, or outright cuddle session. Nekomiya is especially affectionate with you when she hasn’t seen you in a while, or if she’s just had the best mackerel. “I’m obsessed with my boyfriend. I want his love more and more, meow~,” she said while cuddling further into your side, her tails forming the shape of a heart.

She’s a big gift giver, having given you a nice collection of things. Of course, none of it is stuff bought from stores. It’s random items she found out and about, usually during a commission in a hollow, that she believed would be great for you. Nekomiya doesn’t give you random junk, though there was a time she would bring you rodents (which she was somewhat half joking about).

Did someone say sibling rivalry? Because I’m sensing some here.

You both get into the pettiest of fights, usually with the both of you rolling around the floor in a fight. No serious injuries actually being made, just some shallow scratches.

Though don’t believe either of you let anyone else bully the other, only you are allowed to fight each other!

I can see you both making nicknames at each other, like her calling you mutt, dog boy, etc. And you firing back with just as many nicknames. Though neither take offense to the other, unless a third party were to say a nickname.

Honestly I feel that the other members have taken multiple photos of the two of you cuddling, which is a rare thing to happen (at least that’s what you say, like a liar).

They tease the both of you, making little references about how cats and dogs get along and whatnot. It’s nothing bad and just some lighthearted family teasing.

You both keep each other’s backs while in the hollow, the both of your animal traits combining well when detecting where the ethereals are.

If one of you got injured, the other gets really protective. Acting like a cornered animal and only allowing trusted people to help.

I can also see the two of you grooming the other’s ears and tails, making sure there isn’t any knots in your hair or fur. You both especially do this more often as comfort when one is recovering.

All in all it’s the both of you acting like typical siblings, you fight but are caring for each other in your own special ways.

SUMMARY: Nekomiya and (Y/N) grew up together, leading to a strong bond forming between the two.

Both you and Nekomiya were abandoned at a young age, and grew up on the streets. Thankfully, a gang known as Red Fang Gang adopted you both. And while you weren’t necessarily raised as brother and sister, a bond undeniably was forged.

She grew up playing pranks on you; stealing your wallet, phone, tickling you and then running away, or sneaking a bite out of your mackerel. Yes, they often involved annoying you, but Nekomiya always did it whenever you were feeling down to help distract you.

When both of you decided to leave the gang was when Nekomiya began to…question herself. She was really happy when you joined her on an otherwise solo adventure, but then you promised to look out for her and protect her; something in her right then and there made her stomach feel like butterflies.

She was scared at first to pursue a relationship with you after she realized her feelings. She didn’t want to ruin a good thing; you were practically a brother to her. But at the same time, Nekomiya had never trusted, loved, nor grieved for anyone more than you. When she went into a hollow for a commission she couldn’t be more confident; but when you were there it was like suddenly everything was at stake.

When she finally did start dating you though, all her fears went out the window. She was a even worse prankster, made constant inside jokes with you, and don’t even get her started on all the late night cuddles! No longer were you both just by each other to survive, but you were now trying to survive for each other.
