How to Secure Direct MD/MS Admission through NEET PG?
Securing direct MD/MS admission is a possibility for those who have cleared the NEET PG but do not wish to go through the extensive counseling process. Here are a few steps to follow:
Qualify NEET PG – You need to score well in the NEET PG exam. Although there are options for direct admission, qualifying in the exam is still essential.
Private Medical Colleges and Deemed Universities – Direct MD/MS admission is generally available in private medical institutions and deemed universities, which offer seats through management quotas. These institutions often allow students to bypass some of the competitive government counseling procedures.
Management Quota Seats – After clearing NEET PG, many private institutions offer direct admission through management quota seats. The process usually involves paying a higher fee, and these seats are often filled based on availability and the institution's requirements.
Consultation with Educational Agencies – Various educational consultants specialize in assisting students with direct MD/MS admissions. They can guide you through the process, including selecting the right colleges and understanding the financial commitments.
Research on Colleges Offering Direct Admission – It’s crucial to research institutions that provide direct admission for MD/MS. Check their reputation, faculty, and infrastructure to ensure they align with your career goals.
Documents and Application Process – Make sure all necessary documentation, including NEET PG scorecards, certificates, and financial papers, are ready to avoid any delays in the admission process.
By exploring direct admission in MD/MS through NEET PG, especially in private and deemed institutions, you can secure a seat in one of the top specializations. Always ensure to stay updated on the admission timelines and regulations for the colleges you are considering.

But how can you start your learning schedule? Being aware of some tips and tricks can allow you to do well on the day of your exam.
Let's see what these are and how you can use them to help you study.
NEET exam preparation tips and strategies
You need to devise a plan to get a good score on the exam. Without a schedule, doing well and getting high marks will be hard.
Here are some tips to help you do well on the NEET PG 2024 exam:
Create your schedule:
You can make a list in the spreadsheet with the subject's name, how important it is, how many topics it has, and how long it will take to study each topic. After that, it is also essential to prioritize the issues that are harder or more important so you can give them more time. Thus, making and following a clear plan will help you stay on track.
2. Choose good learning resources:
To start your NEET PG preparation, you need to pick from good learning resources and books that will allow you to gain better information. Since it is a competitive test, it is evident that many students will appear for the same exam. We recommend you choose your learning material wisely to cover all the previous year's exam questions, mock tests, MCQs, etc.
3. Studying 24/7 is not mandatory:
You do not have to study all the time to score well. When making a NEET PG strategy, you must know that even if you effectively study for nine to ten hours a day, that is enough to crack the exam. To make the most of your time, you must close your door, switch off your phone and tell everyone not to disturb you. Besides that, you should take breaks between every two hours as well.
4.Take care of your health:
While you're preparing for NEET PG 2024, remember to also look after yourself. Eating good food, staying active, and getting enough sleep are important. It may seem easy, but these things will help you concentrate better and feel happy.

Reducing Cut-Off Percentile For NEET PG 2023 Will Increase Pool Of Qualifying Candidates: Health Ministry
Till now, candidates scoring above the 50 percentile were eligible to participate in the counselling process for medical PG admission through NEET.
Tumblr media
New Delhi: Union Health Ministry officials on Friday said reducing the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 to zero will increase the pool of qualifying candidates but not dilute the merit system for admission to PG medical courses. Only those scoring the highest marks will get admission to PG medical courses, they said. The admission will be done through a transparent counselling process and will do away with alleged backdoor entry that was offered by some private colleges, the officials said.
They dismissed as imaginary the speculation that students with zero percentile can also become specialist doctors. The reality is that students with the highest marks will be eligible for admission to their choice of courses and colleges, they said.
There are 68,142 PG medical seats in the country.
Till now, candidates scoring above the 50 percentile were eligible to participate in the counselling process for medical PG admission through NEET.
Last year, the qualifying criteria were kept at 20 percentile even then 3000 seats remained vacant under the all India quota, they said.
Some seats remained vacant under the state quota as well.
“This year alone, of the 68,000 available seats, 13,000 still haven’t been taken up,” an official said.
Till now, candidates scoring the most marks were given the first preference for choosing the course and college. The entire admission is online and computer-based.
“Since a lot of seats in the entire process remained vacant, the students with zero percentile marks are now being given the opportunity to participate in the counselling process. The move for students means that admission through the counselling process will continue till seats are available,” the official said.
From time to time, the Supreme Court and various high courts on various petitions had stated that an arrangement should be made to ensure no seats remain vacant. “The present move will increase the pool of qualifying candidates but only those scoring the highest marks will get admission for PG medical,” an official source said.
The entire process will still be merit-based and only that many students will get admission as there are PG seats in the country, the officials said.
Under the present system, seats in non-clinical branches like anatomy, microbiology, physiology and pathology went vacant due to a lesser number of students opting for them.
“Now this move will lead to a greater likelihood of these seats being filled. And 7000 to 10,000 going vacant every year will get filled,” an official source stated.
“It is for the information to candidates that the qualifying percentile for PG Courses (Medical/ Dental) for NEET PG counselling 2023 has been reduced to ‘zero’ across all categories by MoHFW,” said a notice issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate of Health Services, Government of India on Sep 20.
