Dragon 148 (August, 1989). Cover by Ned Dameron. I like this one a lot. I also like how it accidentally looks like it is somehow connected to Caldwell’s cover last month, to the point that the editor’s note explicitly says it is not. It also reminds me of a Bernie Wrightson painting featuring two warriors dueling up the exterior stairs of an ivory-white tower. It’s interesting how it seems less finished than Caldwell’s, but is so much more dynamic and full of motion.

I’ve gone through Demihuman Deities a lot so I don’t know how I’ve missed / kept missing this! It’s a pretty cool piece of art honestly. I like it a lot, especially the fact that Rillifane looks like a TREE (plus this artisitc rendition is kind of giving me Tin Man vibes with how he looks) :D

Lolth’s ex kind of has style. Although I have no idea what’s going on with Corellon’s neck. Is it a brace? turtle neck? One of those medieval times styled neck ruffles? Who knows! Not me~
