There's a game very similar to Scorn called Necrophosis and I'm rather curious about it. This one uses an artstyle more akin to Beksinski than Giger, and while I admire both artists, I've always wanted to play a game that fully immerses you in Beksinski's nightmarish landscapes.
I already watched a playthrough, but I want to try the free demo for myself.

super excited to see an inspired-by media property with more of Beksinski's ouvre incorporated into it. like the necrotic landscapes and greebled textures are basically as expected but those shots of deep red scenery and the presence of lots of NPCs in the trailer have me feeling hopeful
#necrophosis#zdzislaw beksinski#I don't expect to see a video game taking cues from his full breadth of surrealist portraits and landscapes any time soon#but this could be really fucking sick

This summer I set myself the task of preparing many, many sketches for drawing in the autumn in sketchbook. I have two sketchbooks for different topics - the first sketchbook is warframe + free fantasy on warframe theme and a small sketchbook for practicing new materials/techniques.
In the second sketchbook, full-fledged works appear as a kind of creative exam - what I have learned over a certain period of time. Of course, the summer did not turn into an endless stupid marathon "draw sketches until you die", I would have died from boredom and monotony. I looked for tools, materials and did analyses of my favorite works, both mine and others.
For me, creativity is a kind of language. In principle, two hyperrealists can find a common language faster than 1 hyperrealist and 1 impressionist. Studying other people's works is like learning an unfamiliar language and all my life I have been moving towards understanding the languages of different styles. Until I had my own language.
And at some point I drowned in my creativity. Literally. I felt uncomfortable being in places where I used to feel comfortable. Even ordinary things that made me happy no longer affected me. I felt isolation that was inside my mind. I learned a new language and completely forgot what language I spoke before. Everything became foreign, unfamiliar and repulsive. It was as if I fell out of one reality and ended up in another. And this other reality felt like my real home. There was an ambiguous feeling and many questions - is this my home or is it a psychological trap? Will this feeling harm me? Is it dangerous here? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
And by chance I come across the game Necrophosis. More precisely - a demo version for now. From the first minutes, the tension and fear passed and I breathed out peacefully - yes, I'm home. A familiar atmosphere, familiar characters, a familiar hot wind and endless tons of sand intertwine with images of nightmares, memories, feelings. I found final peace.
