Nebuchadnezzar’s Restoration
Daniel 4:34-37 34And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation. 35All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of…

There Is a God In Heaven
17 Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, 18 and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.…

Another One in the Fire
How has your week been? If you’re like me, you are in the middle of the storm and working hard just to keep the ship going straight. Does that sound familiar? I was reminded of something earlier that I think may be of some strength to you if you are in that storm I mentioned. I also feel compelled to write this directly to those of you who need to hear this today. You know who you are. Do you…

The antichrist. How, then, do we fit the Roman Empire into this mix? Daniel 9:26 and a few other verses.
In the previous post, I referred to Daniel describing the statue, with the head of gold, to Nebuchadnezzar. He tells Nebuchadnezzar that he is the head of gold. Both the silver and the bronze are referred to as inferior kingdoms, and though history lends a hand and gives us an identification of the Persian empire (technically the Medo-Persian empire) and the Grecian/Macedonian empire initiated…

Those Who Are
1 Corinthians 15:48As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.First foremost, the head and members are of one nature, and not like that monstrous image that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream. The head was of fine gold, but the belly and thighs were of brass, the legs of iron, and the feet partly of iron and partly of…

Tel Sheva
Be'er Sheva (Beer-sheba) was so well-known in acinet Israel it became part of a saying meant to comprise the whole of the land, "From Dan to Beer-Sheba." #Beersheba #Beersheva #Samuelssons #Elijah
David and I are once again in Israel, the “Beautiful Land,” as the prophet Daniel described it. Tel (Be’er) Sheva When we planned our visit to Israel, we wanted to visit those places we had not yet seen, but are important to the biblical narrative. Be’er Sheva (Beersheba) seemed like an important destination, as it is where Abraham established his herds and tents. We looked for the Tel—Tel…

Food for Thought
5 The king assigned them a daily portion of the food that the king ate, and of the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that time they were to stand before the king. 6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach,…

What Can I Do in an Impossible Situation? (Daniel 2:1-23)
Throughout the book of Daniel, a prominent theme is the importance of prayer as the prerequisite to receiving wisdom.
Daniel Interprets King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream, by Mattia Preti (1613-1699) In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule, he had many dreams. The dreams made him anxious, but he kept sleeping. The king summoned the dream interpreters, enchanters, diviners, and Chaldeans to explain his dreams to him. They came and stood before the king. Then the king said to them: “I had a dream, and I’m anxious…

A Measure Of Things – Part Nine
A Measure Of Things – Part Nine
Tumblr media
It was not until the development of the coal-burning furnace in the 16th century which produced the temperatures necessary to manufacture thick glass and the discovery of cork as an efficient sealant, that the bottle came into its own as a means of transporting wine. Although the bottle has been challenged by the box in recent years, it stands triumphant as a means of selling and serving wine.…
