Deanna quickly became my photographic muse during 2021. It took a awhile for her to adjust being just herself thru my eye. Instead of what she (and other photographers) felt how she should project in front of their lens. Her average look at the beginning of our tests/concept exercises took away from her true beauty. I initiated conversations about her long hair and after arranging a meeting with my good friend Marie P Anderson in Chicago. She finally got her hair cut which drastically changed her look to further develop her model identity and eventual signing with Posche Models. What I found fascinating about Shannon is the absolute absence of bs, what you see is what you get. The moment that Shannon let’s you into her world, you discover the many talents she does not brag about, although she should. What the heck, since people liked the Jane Goodall and Twyla Tharp posts, let's end the week by completing a trifecta of never posted outtakes of silver-haired female icons with wonderful singer-songwriter @judycollinsofficial. The best part of this shoot was after we'd finished the first setup on seamless and were moving to the next in her living room, I saw a guitar against the wall and asked if she'd be willing to pose with it. She said it'd been years since anyone asked to photograph her with her guitar, and yes. Then while we set up for the next look, she grabbed the guitar, sat down on the couch, tuned it and started to play and sing. We were treated to a private performance by a legend while we worked. The second best thing about this shoot was after we were finished with our planned setups, Judy said she had a hat she loved and would love a picture in it. With her cat. A cat? And a hat? What is your favourite time of day to take pictures?

I also met a pony, a really calm old lady. Her owner asked us what we were doing out there in that dreadful weather in costume, so we explained. Then suddenly she left her pony with us for a few minutes to get something from her car and we could take some pictures.

This is the last photo we took that day, I must have been frozen solid at that point but the light was just so beautiful. We went out to take pictures in the fog, but on the way back there was one clear hill, and the sun was just setting.
