Headcanon: Jedediah LOVES to talk to Octavius about his family, it makes him happy. Octavius loves to hear about them. He finds it endearing. On the other hand, talking about Jed's family also brings a lot of sad or complicated emotions. For Jed, talking about his family makes him miss them like crazy, and heartbroken that he may never see them again. They were all supposed to dead together eventually, but the tablet made other plans. For Octavius, hearing Jed talk about his family makes him think about his complicated relationship with his uncle, Julius Caesar. He lost his parents at a young age, raised by his grandmother, and eventually was adopted by his uncle to be his heir. It was a lot of pressure, and most of the time, it felt that Julius was more like his trainer and teacher than his father, or even his uncle, something Octavius refused to acknowledge until centuries later, since he somehow grew to (or had it instilled in him) think the world of him. It's a both nice and sad moment the two have together from time to time, but in the end, Jed and Oct both know that they have each other.
