Last week I was at Taigan Safari Park. The guide said that camels spit when they are scared, and llamas spit both when they are afraid and when they like you, so you can’t guess whether they liked you or not. The llamas never spat on me, money down the drain!

Tropical Holidays
Tumblr media
PORTUGUÊS Todo fim de ano, as lojas do Brasil se enchem de estátuas do Papai Noel e decorações das festas de fim-de-ano, mas também neve falsa e imagens de inverno. Só que aqui não é inverno. É o começo do verão. Então, representei as festas tropicais com uma bromélia enfeitada, e um abacaxi no topo — você já viu um abacaxi brotando? Como seria a árvore de Natal tropical de vocês?
ENGLISH Every December, shops in Brazil as filled with statues of Santa Claus and holiday decorations, but also fake snow and images of Winter. Except it's not Winter in here. It's the beginning of Summer. So, I'm representing the tropical holidays with a decorated bromelia and a pineapple on the top — have you ever seen a pineapple sprouting? What would your tropical Christmas tree look like?
Do, mi bildigas la tropikajn festojn kun ornamita bromelio, kaj ananaso supren — ĉu vi vidis ananason dum ĝia kreskado? Kiel estus viaj tropikaj kristnaskaj arboj?

Note
Would you be able to do an analysis for a white-nosed coati? :-) ty!!
The WHITE-NOSED COATI (Nasua narica), also known as the coatimundi, is a species of coati with small ears and a long, pointed snout. White-nosed coatis are bold, individualistic and cliquish. Coatis are diurnal and do much of their foraging during the day, with nights spent in treetops sheltered from most predation: these animals are habitual, tolerant and relaxed. Coatis are omnivores and forage mostly on the ground for small vertebrates, carrion, insects, snakes and eggs: they are docile but opportunistic, intelligent and very curious. White-nosed coatis can climb trees easily and use their tail for balancing, making them steady and intuitive. Coatis are adaptable and will occupy many different types of habitat, from tropical lowlands to dry high-altitude forests. White-nosed coatis are unambitious, but determined, resilient and stubborn, and will travel up to 2000 meters in a single day in a quest for food. When hunting, coatis will force vertebrates to the ground with their paws and kill by a bite to the head: these animals are efficient. White-nosed coatis are known pollinators of the balsa tree, making them easy-going and cooperative. Coatis are very vocal, and often engage in play behaviour in the wild: they are expressive, affectionate and playful. Coatis are protective, loyal and caring, but forgiving and insecure.

White-nosed coati / Coatimundi (Nasua narica), family Procyonidae
White-nosed coatis have long tails, which make up about half of their body length. These long tails are used for balance while climbing.
