The cosmos is a secret in itself. Quiet, void, brilliant. The space in-between galaxies are the veins of eternity.

perspective is a hell of a thing
Empress Nightingale is Camélia’s mother! Just to clarify. I wrote about that here once. Narucnici and her had a thing.

Penelope stared at the transluscent scrying pool. The mesmerizing ripples echoing through the streams of memories in the Mists.
“Do you think you could see the future with this?” Penelope reached out for the surface of the pool. Her fingers barely touching the water.
“Possibly,” the Starcaller answered. “Ampulheia said that it is more likely you’ll see "A Future”, rather than your actual future. Other timelines.“
"Huh. Interesting.” Penelope dipped her fingers in the pool. The water was soft. It smelled so strangely. Like a fragrance from another world.
The Starcaller sat closer to her. “I wouldn’t recommend trying to tap into that kind of current. It might show you something… painful.”
“Pretty used to it by now.” Penelope let out a soft snort.
“It’s a little different. It’s a real possibility. It’s a real outcome.” She reached out to Penelope’s hand and held it. “Be careful with tools like these. They weren’t created for…”
“Mortals like us?” She huffed.
“Well… yes, but you’re not really an ordinary mortal. A little draconic, a little human. A little mist-y too?” She paused. “Yet, still vulnerable in many ways.”
“Wow gee, thanks for letting me know! Not like I’ve heard this a million times by now.” Penelope rolled her eyes.
The Starcaller’s tail twitched slightly. “I’m sure. Anyhow. How are you feeling?” I’m sorry, she thought, feeling a little embarrassed. But the words stayed stuck in her throat.
“What do you mean?” Peneloped blinked.
“You know, Deanna…”
“Uh. Yeah. That.” She swallowed hard. “I think she’s a little mad at me? This is all super weird.”
“Your decisions lately have been sort of…” the Starcaller looked away. “Questionable.”
“Oh no. Not you too. I’m out!” Penelope got up brusquely and headed towards the corridor.
“Penelope… That’s not-”
“Save it!”
The Starcaller sighed. “Way to go, myself.”
***
She descends into the pool, eyes pearly like the moon’s reflection in a mirror.
“I just want to know if I did it right,” she whispers. “Because I’m not quite sure anymore.”
From below the waves of time, dialects form: “You are not ready to face the shadows the sun casts.”
Defiance.
“Show me, ancient cosmos.” The words melt in her tongue, and the water becomes silver. “I command the night.”
A line.
Deanna knocks Smodur down. Dagger flying into the ground. Ryland gasps.
He stays.
Deanna hears Jormag’s voice, and the chilling ice is no match for the burning cold of her eyes. The bridge is cinders before it even forms.
Wolves howl from within.
“My champion. My champion.” Aurene sings. “How are you?”
“Annoyed, but alright.”
She stands by the edge of the universe.
“You should have chosen her. You know that, goddess of the night.”
The Starcaller looks at her hands and fog swallows her up into the end of everything.
“How could you forget? How could you find answers in empty books?” The other primordials hold golden spears. They would not welcome her again.
Her wings dissolve under the weight of blinding light. Banished for protecting a sliver of a memory.
“Write. So you don’t forget,” Narucnici says one last time.
“I…”
The tomb reads “Penelope Ry. Daughter of Mimi Ry and N'vaa. Betrayer of her kind.” Glass shards on her hands. And she closes them into fists, trying to hold their pain.
“It should have been her. Deanna would have fulfilled the prophecy.” The cosmos casts judgment. Harsh and unforgiving. Consuming all.
I made a choice.
“If you follow your heart, it will lead you into a wasteland.” The guiding star burns bright and fades into the mist.
I did.
“We are Primordials. We do what we must to balance the scales.” The Dawncaller’s wings block out the sun. She extends her hand. “Return to us. We need you.”
I didn’t.
“How could you forget? How could you choose the same path again?” Eyes golden and hair lavender. The scent of home.
I haven’t.
The Starcaller hardly remembers the open fields of another world. The tears of another galaxy. The birthplace of her kind.
How long have I been with this world.
Golden spears piercing the night. And she wishes she knew who planted the poisoned apple.
Cycles. Tyria’s pieces scattered across the universe.
“We made the wrong decision,” her reflection says. “But can they blame us?”
“This is just a load of guilt! Not a vision! Not a replay of the past. Not a glimpse of a timeline! It’s just guilt!” the Starcaller shouts.
“We are not that different.” A chilling voice creeps up from behind her.
No.
“Selfish. You and I.” Jormag sneers.
The Starcaller reaches out to them in a fit of rage, but they dissolve into harsh hail.
“You.” She clenches her teeth hard. “Dare to claim you love the ghost of a world your brethren consumed until it broke.”
Numbing silence.
“Hypocrite.”
Her hands are bloody and scarred.
“HYPOCRITE!”
She crushes the hail with her hands. It is colder than a supernova.
“Wouldn’t it be grand to never face the morning sun? To return where it all began?"
The cosmos opens its arms with a promise of a new life.
“I can’t forget. I can’t forget.”
She awakens soaked in blue light.

“You already know how this story ends.”
“What?” Narucnici turned her head.
“You already know how this is going to end,” Ampulheia repeated.
Ampulheia had seemed the most quiet of the celestials. Always watching, always taking in every detail. A little judgmental at times, but courageous enough to face death for what they believed in.
It reminded Narucnici of her ever vigilant heart. She wondered if that was narcissistic, even if Ampulheia was a facet of her. Maybe, in many ways, they were better than she could ever be.
“I’m not sure what you are talking about, Ampulheia,” she responded as evenly as she could.
“The thing with Jormag,” they spat a little too viciously.
“You know how time works. You can never be too sure,” she offered.
“How can you be so calm…? Have you not seen the glimpses as well?”
Narucnici knew. Knew the tapestry of timelines, of every possible outcome. Of the blood pouring over the white snow. Of betrayal, of love. It seemed like a labyrinth at times, all corridors pushing towards a nebulous ending. A closed door. Or too many open doors.
It was a little distressing.
“Jormag has to die.” They stood in front of Narucnici. Imposing and determined.
“You don’t know that.” She avoided their piercing gaze.
“You already experienced that. This isn’t the timeline we started with.”
Narucnici was not mortal by any stretch of the imagination, but she wondered if this was the meaning of “blood burning cold.” Her entire essence turned to ice, the many stars in her heart were blazing in a cold light.
Ampulheia knew. Of course she knew, she was the sharpest of them all.
“Nothing to say?”
Narucnici remembered when Kralkattorik died, when his energy came to seek her out at the heart of the universe. Came to say good bye. “You have to let go.” His words hurt.
How could she let an entire world fight against impossible odds? She had told him she could not go, and instead of a scoff, she got a solemn smile. He understood. It made her a little furious.
“When it all came to an end. They were crying,” she spoke up finally.
“I’ve known Jormag for eons and they aren’t the kind to get attached.” She played with the violet crystal in her hands. “Flimsy and flirty. A little manipulative. But mostly harmless. Before the corruption, that is.” Her voice cracked between words.
Ampulheia stared.
“I think… No, I know. They loved Penelope. Will love her. More than anything.” She clutched the crystal to her chest, as if it was a charm to dispel the darkness in her thoughts.
“How many people have to disappear from this timeline for you to realize.” Ampulheia growled every word between their gritted teeth, “that maybe Jormag dying is a necessity?”
“They deserve a chance as much as us. I’ve had that chance, too.” For the first time that night, Narucnici looked into Ampulheia’s eyes. “They are my friend. I’ve known them for so long.”
“How many times more!? Are you gonna tell the others? Is this gonna be it? A never ending cycle?” Their celestial essence became erratic.
It was a dissonant conversation, a replay of a broken symphony. She knew the next words would sting. Facet to facet. The anger bubbled out, magnetic and bursting, like a supernova.
“Maybe they are right. You are just as selfish as the rest of the Elder Dragons.” Ampulheia stormed off.
Narucnici grimaced.
Snow started to fall evenly above her. She opened her palm and the branded crystal shined brightly. It echoed.
“—I was never able to change your mind. And even if I believe it is our destiny to let go, you will keep trying. I know you will, Narucnici.” The crystal dissolved and its essence traveled to the starry skies above—like a star finding its way to a path beyond time. “Good luck, my friend.”
She knew that most people would not sympathize. And it made sense. They were threats, and the simple existence of their presence was a reminder of everything terrible happening in Tyria. Or at least a lot of it.
Every song praising their death. Every victory closer to their extinguishing. Every single one of her oldest friends poisoned and dying.
It was a celebration.
It hurt, she could not deny. And yet, she was keen on saving these people. These creations made of stardust and mistakes. Made of memories and aspirations. Made so alike with her kin.
If only they knew them before the corruption settled in.
If only.
“Farewell, Kralkatorrik.”

Got inspired and made a playlist about Narucnici! My Celestial Elder Dragon character. I hope you all enjoy! Make sure you click on the read more for the story & direct links!
1. Journey by Mythos
It was a journey unlike any other. The universe was ours to explore.
Far from our sanctuary we roamed together. We were connected, we were united. A chosen family of such an unique kind.
2. Entwined by Illuminata
“They fill the sparkling forest With music as they pass The sky bleeds blue and red and dark Lying black and counting stars”
***
3. The Gates of Reality by Australis
My kin are rare, we are limitless and immortal, barring invincibility. We may die, but we often find a way back.
We are energy and magic. Souls from times past.
And I led them. They trusted me. I stood proud and unwavering.
We were guardians of eternity.
4. Queen of Eternity by Twilight Force
“For the Starlight For the Twilight For the Distant Fate of Us All For the Sunlight For the Moonlight She Will Fight the Battle of Time”
***
5. Ascendant by Mark Dwane
We made and influenced many worlds in our long lives. But we were peaceful.
Until we found this world. Bright, young, and empty. Perfect for our gifts.
Kralkattorrik saw the potential, the creative heart of this world, mirrors and facets alive.
Jormag offered it their icy winds, the skies opened up beautiful and wondrous, and snow adorned the mountains.
Primordus invoked the burning star inside his heart, and fire sparked a magnificent light.
S ̢ ̨͎̞̈́ͤ ̩̣ͤ͊ ̦͍͎̒̃͆  ̝͉ͨ̆ ̯̤͜  ͫͯͭ ̧̝̰ͬͥ submerged herself into the world awakening the seas, water poured crystalline and shimmering.
Mordemoth flourished the deserted world with thick jungles, and flowers bloomed with shades unimaginable.
Zhaitan planted the seeds of life, for all that dies was once alive.
And, I, Narucnici, gave it a slice of the cosmos to prosper in, a galaxy of its own.
It was our world. Heaven sculpted out of love.
We never had any idea what was yet to come.
6. The World Constructor by Illuminata
“Every piece a gift to life Unchain again the endless skies We live the dearest hope To leave but beauty in our fall”
***
7. Orb of Influence by Mark Dwane
When our job was done, and this world was growing strong, we decided it was time to leave.
But my friends delayed, and delayed. And I did not see the strange light in their eyes.
Through their veins, inside their hearts, a poison lingered.
I do not know from where, it was a dark element, a shearing light.
They pulled, and fought, screamed till hoarse. These were no longer the friends I knew.
It hurt, it hurt, it hurt. The people of this world were afraid and lost, and all I could do was watch.
But a fool I was, because I decided to fight back. Alone and surrounded by pain unimaginable.
Thus, I died, and from the universe inside of me, a burst of magic traveled across space and time.
The first Tyria shattered, and I, broken and weeping, became the Mists.
8. The Dark Element by The Dark Element
“Don’t starve at the feast The world is yours, give in to the beast Claim what you deserve”
***
9. Descendant by Mark Dwane
I remember my daughter Ouri, and my followers, the Twilight Oath.
Memories from another time kept coming through my sorrowful heart. And all that was born from the Mists was twisted and sad.
There I lay, in the middle of this multiverse, sleeping. For a millennia and more.
10. When It All Comes Down by The Dark Element
“Let me ease your pain when the bells they chime Walk with you for this one last time I was there when you wore your crown I’m still here when it all comes down”
***
11. Premonition by Mythos
And one day, Kralkatorrik touched me, his dying light seeking me out.
I awoke, dazed and sobbing, for I had slept through all their pain.
My friends, I was…
Afraid of tomorrow.
12. You Will Learn by The Dark Element
“You will learn what to fix, what to break And who to love, who to hate You will learn what you are It will hurt but you will learn, you will learn”
***
