They would describe her personally as both austere and reassuring, elusive but honest. Even so, she is liable to not accept inspiration-based or unvetted ideas unless there is a practical proposition; favoring mind over matter. The divide between work and personal life is nonexistent, seeing as they have coalesced into one entity. Leads an urban lifestyle, is low maintenance except for a few materialistic suggestions. Is firm on the decision that no familial or romantic ties would disrupt her decision to leave earth.

Syneffex Inc., Announces New Website to Highlight Company’s Patented Solutions to Corrosion Under Insulation.
GOLDEN, Colo., May 10, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- There is a simple and affordable way to protect against corrosion under insulation, and Syneffex™ has been a leader in the industrial coating and protection field for decades. As industry needs change, the company has responded by increasing access to critical information for industry leaders.
Syneffex™ has launched a new website highlighting the Company’s patented solutions to the unique corrosion challenges faced by chemical and petrochemical facilities.
“Advances in the industry are happening at break-neck speeds, and we’re keeping up and, actually, staying ahead of the game. We knew it was time to make sure our website was keeping speed with the information our customers need,” states Stuart Burchill, CEO of Syneffex.
The new website can be found at: www.syneffex.com
Chemical plants typically contain a wide variety of corrosive environments where, not only moisture, but a variety of chemicals are present. All of these create multiple challenges for asset protection.
Effective insulation of process equipment is vital to keep chemicals at a desired temperature, either during a manufacturing process or during storage. The problem is that traditional fibrous insulation causes corrosion (aka “corrosion under insulation” or CUI) and degrades quickly in moist and chemical-infused environments.
This leaves many chemical manufacturing facilities with continuous and costly maintenance and repair cycles that include constant monitoring for corrosion-related failures. If these are not caught in time, they can result in tank or pipe failure.
The chemical and corrosion resistant thermal insulating coatings by Syneffex™ are the product of collaborative research by private laboratories and scientists at U.S. national laboratories.
“These nano-engineered and patented thermal insulating coatings by Syneffex™ were first introduced about 16 years ago and have solved many of the traditional issues that multiple industries have been struggling with for decades,” adds Burchill. “They combine a durable, powerful, moisture-resistant insulation with a chemical and corrosion resistance coating. Heat Shield™ EPX-H2O coating has been replacing traditional insulation in chemical plants and other manufacturing facilities around the world, offering a better solution that significantly reduces both energy costs and the costs associated with corrosion.”
Facilities can easily apply the product with standard equipment, for a cost-effective application that lasts for a decade or more.
Benefits include:
Thermal insulation for surfaces up to 400°F (204°C)
Excellent corrosion prevention
Employee protection from hot surfaces
Splash resistant to acids, bases, and fuels
Does not degrade in moist or humid environments
Energy savings and improved equipment efficiency
Class-A fire rating
Easy, spray-on application for large and hard-to-reach areas
Secure, durable bonding with substrate
Low-maintenance, lasts 10+ years
Effective corrosion under insulation (CUI) protection
The performance qualities of EPX-H2O are outlined in detail at:
https://www.syneffex.com/heat-shield-epx-h2o-thermal-insulation-protective-coating/
States Burchill, “From methanol tanks to brine purification tanks to chemical tanks, we provide a fast and easy application that takes just days versus months, and protects equipment for years.”
Through collaboration with top scientists and research entities in the dual specialties of nanotechnology and the related materials’ science, Syneffex™ developed a patented product line that is making a difference in various sectors around the world. The winner of several industry sustainability awards, Syneffex™ is committed to Sustainability Simplified™.

April 21, 2020: King Felipe and Queen Letizia held a videoconference with researchers from the CSIC. They value the CSIC's international reference in the COVID-19 investigation and the platform created to analyze all aspects of the pandemic.
The researchers of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) Margarita del Val Latorre, immunologist, CBM-CSIC and Luis Enjuanes, virologist, CNB-CSIC, held a videoconference meeting with Their Majesties the Kings to specifically explain the task and the CSIC's commitment to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, containment, impact and investigation of COVID-19. The Minister of Science and Innovation, Pedro Duque, together with the President of the CSIC, Rosa Menéndez and Jesús Marco, Vice President of Research of the CSIC, participated in the meeting. His Majesty the King spoke by telephone with the president of the CSIC on March 31.
Professor Enjuanes' group at the CSIC's National Center for Biotechnology (CNB) is an international reference in this area and is completing the assembly of an attenuated version of the virus that will serve as the basis for said vaccine.
The CSIC's Global Health / Global Health Platform, coordinated by the researcher Margarita del Val, and promoted by the Vice-Presidency for Research on the occasion of the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to coordinate the investigation of more than 150 multidisciplinary groups of the CSIC, in biology, chemistry, physics, computing, materials science and also in demography, economics and philosophy.
The platform covers all aspects of the pandemic: origin, expansion, prevention, infection, treatment, containment and impact, and the groups have presented more than 80 initiatives. 25 projects have been launched, thanks to the support of donations such as those made by MAPFRE and AENA.
The Higher Council for Scientific Research, CSIC is globally addressing research that requires a pandemic such as the one caused by the disease COVID-19, generated by the coronavirus SARS-cov-2 with the direct support of the Government through the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Professor Luis Enjuanes has explained to Don Felipe and Doña Letizia that the CNB-CSIC Coronavirus laboratory has been working in the Coronavirus (CoV) field for more than 35 years, with the main interest in studying the virus's replication mechanisms, virulence and virus-host interaction to develop protection strategies, such as vaccines and antivirals.
The research group obtained the first infective cDNA for coronaviruses, which are viruses that have one of the largest known RNA genomes. This reverse genetic system (genetic engineering) has been essential to identify the virus genes responsible for its pathogenicity. Once these genes are identified, they are removed, giving rise to attenuated viruses that are vaccine candidates.
On the other hand, the development of humanized animal models that reproduce the viral disease observed in humans is very important. These animal models are essential for pathogenesis studies and for preclinical evaluation of the efficacy and safety of vaccine candidates and are also being developed at the CNB-CSIC.
The CNB group has studied the virulence and virus-host interaction mechanisms in human fatal respiratory viruses SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV. They first showed that the SARS-CoV envelope protein (E) was a virulence factor. They also identified a motif of a virus protein (PBM) that binds to a cellular protein (synthetin) and leads to lung inflammation, edema, and death of mice. Interestingly, inhibitors of this interaction dramatically increased the survival of mice after SARS-CoV infection and thus constitute an antiviral. The identification of the cellular pathways involved in viral pathogenesis provides information for the rational identification of potential antivirals.
He also explained that the research group has developed candidate vaccines based on recombinant attenuated live SARS-CoV that lacks the E protein. These candidates provided full protection in several animal models against infection with virulent SARS-CoV.
More recently, this laboratory has been developing replicons of MERS-CoV RNA (MERS-RR) as vaccine candidates, based on RNAs that cannot spread from one cell to another, making them highly biosecure since they are based on in single-cycle viruses, which cannot spread from cell to cell, making them candidates for vaccines applicable to people.
The experience and knowledge of the CoV team is currently being applied to the study of the new coronavirus that recently emerged in Wuhan, to rapidly develop vaccine candidates and identify potential targets for new antivirals.
He has indicated to the project coordinated by the researcher Margarita del Val that it is an Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform (ITP) called Global Health / Global Health, in which more than 150 research groups from different specialties, from biotechnology and nanotechnology to demography and artificial intelligence, to seek short, medium and especially long-term solutions to address the challenges posed by problems such as the current SARS-CoV2 coronavirus epidemic.
One of the keys to this PTI Global Health is to have a global vision that enables all aspects of the pandemic to be linked: origin, prevention, disease, containment measures, treatment, social impact, and finally the need for communication to society. , particularly in education; It also includes four transversal working groups: innovation, sources of information, data and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and coordination with the Autonomous Communities.
The platform, promoted by the CSIC's Vice President for Scientific and Technical Research, is coordinated by the researcher at the Severo Ochoa Center for Molecular Biology (CBMSO) Margarita del Val, supported by a committee of experts in the different areas involved.
A platform involving groups that have national and European projects underway for the development of a vaccine (projects by researchers Luis Enjuanes and Isabel Sola, and Mariano Esteban at the National Center for Biotechnology CNB) or new diagnostic techniques (project of Professor Laura Lechuga, CSIC, at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology ICN2).
From the platform, more than 80 proposals from research groups from all over Spain have also been channeled to the call of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), many of them forming a team with Universities, Hospitals and other institutions, as befits an open platform and collaborative.
The platform has already started 25 of these projects, thanks especially to the support of companies and individuals, among which donations from the Fundación MAPFRE and AENA stand out.
These are projects that will allow a much better understanding of virus transmission, its dynamics, and its clinical and epidemiological characteristics. They will also develop new diagnostic technologies, test new antiviral combinations, and contribute to the development of an effective new antigen-based vaccine.
One of the most important challenges proposed is to characterize the immunological response to the virus in the Spanish population, key to a new possible wave of infection. Equally relevant is the study of the effects of mobility restriction measures and social distancing on the epidemic, to design future containment strategies. And the analysis of the coordination mechanisms between health policy and other sectors of public policy to speed up the response to crises.
Precisely the great value of this Global Health Platform is to unite the knowledge of all these first-line research groups in different areas, which will allow the preparation of a working document in the short term with the key questions in the short, medium and long term. , to respond from science, and from our country, to this pandemic, which allows us to find as soon as possible the solutions that society urgently demands of us.

it's a dilemma. no i am not concerned about looking gay before anyone suggests that look ok whoever i do know or have even briefly encountered from the last three years already knows im fucking fruity and whoever i'm going to meet this year will figure it out. also looking gay is really not something i have to try anymore i just. do look gay. i wear dumbass earrings and colour my eyebrows blue every day and that's just from the neck up. this isn't a concern i still care about looking gay it's just in a "i know it's going to happen and im pleased about this" way not a "i have to make this happen" way. plus i got a brand new blue eyeliner for free from shoppers self-checkout today which im excited about. im going to see all my friends and my drama teacher and im going to have my first-ever free period (youre not allowed to take them until gr12 at my school) and im going to use it to do the work for extracurriculars that i already need to do and go see guidance to fix my fucked up schedule. i am. however. going to see my ex boyfriend who broke up with me after ghosting me for three days straight within a week of my grandfather dying. who is still a core part of my friendgroup. and who i have spent the last two weeks babysitting through preparing for the ramp-up to musical theatre (its his first year. he signed up eight months ago because of me. hes not going to drop it because that would be admitting it was because of me. i do not have these qualms about dropping the bio class i took for this reason) because he's still an incompetent man and i am still ** **** **** ***. if he asks to get back together ill do it in a heartbeat but also i know hes too pussybitch to eeeeeeever ask so at least i dont have to worry about that. i also have what is widely acknowledged as the worst french teacher and one of the worst english teachers. my best friend in the world is doing co-op all semester. the aforementioned classes are the only ones we would have together this year meaning we will never have a class together again (unless of course i decide i want to do nanoscience in university, or she decides she wants to do theatre, and we also both end up in the same program at the same school). i think i'll wear my green wrangler cargo pants (that i thrifted for 2$!)

These days are more pleasant but not enyoyable.
I had a dream in this  morning right before woke up. I was in online clases and the class i enroled was mathematics. I dream that someone was helping me with some differential ecuations wich i dont know what was it neither in the dream, but I was so exiting to ear that lovely voice in english which was dialoguing with me and helping me to complete a homework. Then some confusing things happend in the dream that finally I finally went to the classroom to take the course. But in the classroom were only 3 students. all were mexicans and 1 of them was a girl. The other two guys were defenetively not so handsome and any of their voices were similar to the guy on the phone that helped me. I was a little dissapointed.
We had a little presentation to know each other. The three students already know themselves, and they ask me my current professional occupation and my age. I told them first to guess my age, because I noticed that their appereance was a little childish and younger than me except for the girl. They told me I look similar to their age, maybe a little older than the girl. Then I told them I was postgraduate studies in nanoscience and that I'm 24 (idk why i told them that). they look me with atonishment. And I told them that I think they were freshman college students.  But they told me they really didn't. That this course of mathematics was offered for highschool students who were interested in a major in science and engeenering. They were only seventeen and eighteen. I was so amuse that the kids were such a genie/nerdie crew because, because I was so worried I didn't understand the class and math in the course at all. then the sit on our desk in the classroom and wait if there were other students and the teacher. But then suddenly entered a new guy. He was taller than us and his skin was darker than mine, but lighter than the others. He was short brown hair with some gray strays in the front. he sat in front of me. In front of him was sit one of the young students. He say his greeting and I seem they know each other from before. The young student in front presented the guy in front of me as Newt, and he said he was nearly the same age as me. I was staring at him because I was in blanc, trying to remember how I knew this cute guy from before. Newt said "We already know each other, right Elizabeth?". He said it so brightly and happy that I realized he was not angry or annoyed with me, that I was been forgiven and he was ready to treat me like someone you luckyly encouter again.
The I realized it was Newt and it was so exciting to meet him again. He told me he didn't ever think that I was interested in study machine-learning and I replied to him neither I think he was interested in programming too. I noted that we were happy that we were together in the causality of that space and time. Then something confusing happened in the dream and ther we were Newt and I in the lobby of the family home, while my sister was studying on the computer and Newt and I were chatting about what was of our lifes all these years, why his hair is brown with some gray hair strays and not black, and he laughing at me at how I was in blanc staring at me in the classroom before.
That was a nice dream. After dreaming I was thinking of how I felt in in the dream. One, I don't want to be in love. That only the efemeral presence of somone special its all I need to feel happy for the moment.
Two, I miss Newt so much and someday I will meet her again and tell her
all the things what happend and ask him all the things that he got through
these years. Three, I don't dislike math at all.

Styrene Ethylene Butylene Styrene (SEBS) Market | Trends and Growth Forecast to 2026
Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are a class of copolymers (typically a mixture of rubber and plastic) that contain materials with both elastomeric and thermoplastic properties. There are six generic classes of commercial TPEs, out of which one is styrenic block copolymers (SBC), in which styrene ethylene butylene styrene (SEBS) is categorized. It accounts for a majority share of over 65% of the total SBCs. SEBS polymer is a type of TPE that includes styrene monomer.
Some examples of TPE materials formed by block copolymers groups are Kraton, Mediprene, THERMOLAST M, THERMOLAST K, Sofprene, Dryflex, Laprene, Pibiflex, and Hytrel. Of these examples, those produced from stryrenic block copolymers (SBCs) include Laprene, THERMOLAST M, THERMOLAST K, Dryflex, and Sofprene.
SEBS offers various exceptional properties such as heat- and cold-resistance, UV-resistance, processing stability, etc., which enable its increasing usage. The chemical resistance of SEBS is similar to that of natural rubber, which provides it with resistance to acids and bases. SEBS is primarily produced from polyolefin building blocks such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE). Due to this, SEBS does not require stabilizers and plasticizers for flexibility.

Utilization of SEBS in applications such as children’s toys, hygiene products, athletic equipment, and food storage is allowed only after approval from regulatory bodies such as the FDA.
Over the past couple of years, SEBS has been instrumental in replacing certain PVC applications in the medical and health care industry, which has resulted in increase in demand for the polymer. SEBS is consumed in a large number of applications such as home furnishings, car interiors, diving equipments, electrical appliances, footwear, toys, food- and medical-grade containers, and hand tools. Based on end-user industry, the SEBS market can be segmented into automotive, building & construction, electricals & electronics, footwear, medical & healthcare, packaging, sports & leisure, and others.
Asia Pacific is a major region of the market for SEBS on a global level. The region leads in terms of global production as well as consumption. Countries such as Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea are major producers of SEBS. They export a major part of the SEBS they produce to countries in the Rest of Asia Pacific (with China being a prominent consumer of SEBS, along with overall SBCs) and to other regions. Domestic consumption in Japan and South Korea has been steady over the past couple of years, with increase in exports. Western Europe held a significant share in terms of overall consumption of SEBS in Europe. Other than Western Europe, major developments in the SEBS market have been observed in Russia and Turkey. The U.S. held a significant share of the SEBS market in North America. It ranked second in terms of demand for styrenic polymers in the world, only following China. Demand for SEBS in the region is fulfilled through imports from countries such as South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. In Latin America, Mexico is the leading country of the SEBS market, due to the presence of manufacturing facilities for production of SBCs.

Meet the start-up: INBRAIN Neuroelectronics - Med-Tech Innovation
Tumblr media
Graphene Flagship spin-off, INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, is developing graphene-based brain implants to treat brain disorders.
In Europe, there are 165 million living with a brain disorder, and one in three people are predicted to suffer with some neurological disorder during their lifetime. Each year, the cost of treating brain disorders equates to 35% of Europe’s total disease burden — that’s almost €800 billion.
INBRAIN is a spin off from the Graphene Flagship, one of the largest European research initiatives, and its partners the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA), in Spain. Established in 2019, INBRAIN uses technology developed by Graphene Flagship partners ICN2, ICREA and the University of Manchester to develop smart devices for patients with neuronal disorders, like Parkinson’s or epilepsy.
INBRAIN’s technology is built around graphene electrodes which decode with high fidelity neural signals from the brain and then can produce smart therapeutic responses specific to the clinical condition of each patient.
Clinicians have long used electrode arrays to monitor and to stimulate brain activity. But, the performance of commercially available technologies, based on metals like platinum, drops significantly when miniaturised. Existing clinically-used electrodes are therefore very large and unable to accurately stimulate the affected area or record brain activity in detail. As a result, despite the enormous potential of neuromodulation to treat a range of brain disorders, current efforts have proved largely ineffective, with many causing significant side effects.
Graphene’s properties enable the electrodes to be miniaturised while still performing excellently. Graphene-based implants can support many more electrodes than traditional electrode arrays, and therefore are capable of high-resolution recording and stimulation. This results in mapping of brain activity with unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution and, at the same time, brain stimulation with unique precision.
A smartest and low-invasive neural interface, INBRAIN’s device can be used over large areas of the cortex without interfering with normal brain function or can be integrated into probes reaching deep structures of the brain. Powered by artificial intelligence and using big data, the implants can read and modulate brain activity, detect specific biomarkers and trigger adaptive responses to deliver optimal results in personalised neurological therapies.
“The high-density bi-directional graphene dots in our brain interfaces collect real-time high-resolution brain signals and identify relevant biomarkers,” explained Carolina Aguilar, CEO of INBRAIN Neuroelectronics. “We link these to symptoms to generate a therapeutic solution. This entire process can be done through machine learning algorithms that eventually make the process automatic, delivering a true neuroelectric therapy free of the side effects associated to the current therapies.
“As we collect more securitised and anonymised data, we can create better and smarter algorithms and therefore more effective therapeutic solutions.”
INBRAIN’s technology has been validated in in-vitro and in-vivo biocompatibility, as well as toxicity tests. It has been used successfully in studies on small animals and will be further validated through tests on large animals to ensure they are safe and superior to current solutions using metals.
To achieve this ambition a team that has been put together, combining technical expertise and business acumen. It includes Graphene Flagship figures Jose Garrido, Kostas Kostarelos and Anton Guimera, neurotechnology experts from Philips, Medtronic and other start-ups such as Bert Bakker and Michel Decre, and neurotech business knowledge thanks to former Medtronic global director Carolina Aguilar. The team continues to grow with key neuro-engineering talent in Europe.
INBRAIN is currently working to ensure patient safety and to comply with necessary pre-clinical work and clinical regulatory milestones. The company plans to start its first in-human studies this year.

Introduction
When Richard Feynman (Figure 1), an American Physicist and winner of Nobel prize and physics professor at California Institute Technology (CalTech), gave a talk under the title of “There is Plenty of Room at the Bottom” [1] at an American Physical Society (APS) meeting during December 29th, 1959, at CalTech, California, the door to ideas and concepts behind nanoscience and nanotechnology, just got opened. Of course, this talk was way before the term nanotechnology was used in our ordinary daily English language.
In his talk, Feynman described a process in which scientists would manipulate and control individual atoms and molecules. Over a decade later, in his explorations of ultraprecision machining, Professor Norio Taniguchi coined the term nanotechnology. It was not until 1981, with the development of the scanning tunneling microscope that could "see" individual atoms, that modern nanotechnology began.
Anytime, these days, when talking about nanotechnology, we should think about how small things can be, such as an atom of any element or from a scaling point of view, what would be the “Size of the Nanoscale” or basically, just how small is “nano?” and what can we imagine about the scale of from Microscopic perspective. From metric MKS unit dimensional point of view or International System Units (ISU), the prefix “nano” means one-billionth or 10-9; therefore, one nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. It’s difficult to imagine just how small that is, thus, here we are presenting some examples to clear the matter better [2].
1. A sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick.
2. A human hair is approximately 80,000- 100,000 nanometers wide.
3. A single gold atom is about a third of a nanometer in diameter.
4. On a comparative scale, if a marble diameter were one nanometer, then the diameter of the Earth would be about one meter.
5. One nanometer is about as long as your fingernail grows in one second.
6. A strand of human DNA is 2.5 nanometers in diameter.
7. There are 25,400,000 nanometers in one inch.
