Nakamise-dori street at night is a whole other experience. It was around 8pm and that vendor was the only one still open hustling.

It is one of Japan's oldest shopping streets that dates back to the 17th century. Most shops have been run by the same families for generations. Amazingness.

Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo Japan 🇯🇵

Sensoji Temple, officially called Kinryuzan Sensoji Temple, is the oldest temple in Tokyo, located in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo.It is widely known as Asakusa Kannon, as its principal deity is the Bodhisattva Sho-Kannon.The temple has developed as a familiar temple.

Kaminarimon, the symbol of Sensoji Temple, is a popular spot for many tourists.

Nakamise-dori Street, leading from the Kaminarimon to the main hall, is a lively place lined with stores selling souvenirs and food.Various events are held throughout the year, including Hatsumode (New Year's visit), cherry blossom viewing in spring, and Noryo Festival in summer.

Senso-ji Temple is one of the most popular tourist spots in Japan and attracts many foreign tourists.

Oogami Banri: You’re really good with your hands! I think I’ll use the platter I made to serve some side dishes for the president.

Wandering around near Nakamise-dori

Today, I had an irresistible urge to wander around the old downtown areas! While the touristy spots like Akihabara and the youthful neighborhoods of Harajuku are great, I think the downtown areas are the best for a solo stroll. It's so much fun to leisurely walk through places like the Sugamo Jizo-dori Shopping Street or the Asakusa Nakamise Shopping Street without a care in the world.

My hometown also has a shopping street, but it's practically deserted with shuttered stores… I can't help but feel a bit envious. I wish it could transform into a hidden gem on weekends, with people coming out of nowhere, stores opening up, and becoming a spot where you can enjoy some street food… but that's just a dream. Oh well.

Oh! One of my followers is eating a delicious-looking seafood bowl! I think I'll have one too! I really want to go to Tsukiji, the mecca of sashimi, and eat a mountain of seafood bowls. It's truly delicious!

Red Crane's shopping and theatre district has been refreshed!

The pattern for the path and the shop layout with seasonal decor is based on Nakamise-dori in Asakusa, leading to Sensoji temple.

The kimono goods shop is based on my favorite shop off of Nakamise-dori called Iida-ya, where you can buy traditional dance supplies. The entrance features paper parasols meant for use on stage.

Every time I think I'm done making improvements to the patisserie, I change it again. This time I really think I'm done. ...probably.

I finally found a layout that works for the music store so there's room to play most of the instruments without feeling crowded.

Nook's had the most simple changes with the biggest effect.
