Exploring Art Worlds: From ARTBO to MoMA
As I talked about in this blog before, I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to art my entire life. I came from a family with a lot of artists and I was little they has taken me along with them on their artistic journey. One of our favorite annual activities as a family is attending ARTBO - Bogotá International Art Fair every year.
We look forward to this event all year long! When we arrive at the fair, it's like entering another world filled with creativity and inspiration from artists around the globe. We spend hours walking through each exhibition booth admiring different styles of artwork ranging from traditional paintings and sculptures, to digital photography and multimedia installations. I'm especially excited when my dad gets involved in some way; whether that means helping out with setting up exhibitions or participating by showcasing some of his own work from him alongside other talented creators.
At ARTBO - Bogotá International Art Fair, you get lost among incredible works created by people who share your passion: art lovers who want their creations admired but also shared beyond their walls. This unique opportunity allows you to not only appreciate what others have made but also learn about new techniques that will help inspire your own work too. As someone who grew up surrounded by art, these types of events are essential parts in fulfilling my creative curiosity!
At 2021, my family and I went to NYC for a long-awaited trip. We had been planning it for months, but due to the pandemic we weren't able to go to the MOMA because it was sold out at forum restriction. However, a few weeks ago I found out that I was going to return to NYC along with my university, so I decided to find out as much as I could to visit the museum. I came across a video of a one hour guided tour of some of his most important works that was very helpful (https://youtu.be/beS9LIsLJ9w) and with the applications Google Arts & Culture and SmARTify where you can scan each work get general feedback about them - including photos comments – which is incredibly helpful when visiting museums like this one!. In this way I was able to share my experience with my family and friends in more detail. I really enjoyed the visit to the museum, it seemed crazy to me to have such well-known works just a few steps from me. it seemed like a dream
My favorite work of art from the (MoMA) was Fulang-Chang and I by Frida Kahlo. This painting was completed in 1937, depicting two figures: a small monkey wearing an earring on its left ear de ella and Kahlo herself with her de ella signature unibrow de ella, dressed in traditional Mexican clothing. The background consists of lush foliage that appears to be set somewhere outdoors with a bright blue sky overhead.
I find this piece incredibly captivating due to the symbolism it conveys through its vibrant colors and surrealistic imagery. The monkey symbolizes loyalty while Kahlo's outfit de ella represents her cultural identity de ella as a Mexican woman living during a time when women were not given many rights or freedoms; both elements come together to create an empowering message about self-expression despite societal norms at the time. Additionally, there are various other symbols hidden within the painting such as birds which represent freedom while butterflies signify transformation – all adding up to make for quite an engaging artwork!
The advice this work gives artists today is simple yet powerful: don't be afraid to express yourself no matter what others may think or say about you! As more people become aware of their own identities - whether they identify as part of marginalized communities or simply just individuals who want their voices heard - it's important for us all take inspiration from works like Fulang-Chang and I so we can continue telling our stories without fear or shame attached to them. In doing so, we can create meaningful works that will inspire generations after us too!

Food memories of our last visit in NYC before the pandemic.
New York City has so much diversity in food, but we tried as many bagels we could in a short amount of time.
We visited:
⭐️ Russ & Daughters
⭐️ Ess-a-Bagel
⭐️ Murray’s Bagels
⭐️ Kossar’s Bialy
⭐️ Brookly Bagel and Coffee
Next stops will be Utopia, Absolute, H&H, Tompkins, Forest Hills and more.
This trip we focused on startup pitching so couldn’t enjoy as much. This trip with be a catch up with friends. Hopefully we can share many good food memories.

Trip to NYC
Aksel was at the airport when he saw Jack pull up with Matt. He watched him walk in and with a wide smile raced over to him and picked him up in a hug.” Hi.” He grinned and kissed him and then put him down. How was work?” He asked as they walked to the check in desk. “ I have everything organised. Once we have checked in, we are going to the club lounge for a glass of champagne then we get on the plane and Its a five hour journey, then we get a car to the hotel where we can relax and chill till tomorrow morning. I have my interview at 10 am so you can either come with me or have a spa or just laze around in bed. “ He murmured as he took his hand. “ Then we have tomorrow afternoon and night and most of Sunday to chill before flying out of New York at 10 which gets us back to Seattle at 8 as its three hours difference.” He checked in for both of them and then smiled. “ I do this a lot so airports are like a second him to me.” He took his hand and took him to the club lounge where there was someone standing by the door with champagne.
After an hour wait, they were called to the plane and Aksel took Matt’s hand. They were seated in first class and Aksel let Matt sit by the window and smiled. “ Its coz my legs are so long.” He explained with a smirk. As the plane took off Aksel rested his head on Matt’s shoulder and held his hand as they watched the sky appear outside. “So what do you want to do in New York? I would like to spoil you a little if that's ok?” He asked and bit his lip. “ maybe do some shopping?”

Day1 -NYC
Cody woke up and rolled over and saw @madz-petschtt on the other bed. “ Hey.” He whispered to see if she was awake. He got up grabbed some clothes and padded into the bathroom . After a quick shower, he walked back into the hotel suite in his jogging pants and a vest top. He made himself a coffee and looked out the window seeing New York spread out in front of him. It was nice to be back in the Big Apple even if it had just been through a hurricane. He stretched his neck and rolled his shoulders and then held his coffee close to him as he took in the scent and the scenery. He heard a noise and turned to see he move. “ You wanna coffee?” He asked softly as he sat at the end of her bed. “So.. when is the big date?” He asked and handed her his coffee and then went off to get another. “ I was thinking about what we should do today. We could do one of those bus tours and then we could get tickets to see a show on one of the nights... whattya reckon?”
