Saint Martina of Rome
Died 228
Feast Day: January 30
Patronage: Rome, nursing mothers
Saint Martina was a Roman virgin martyr. She came from a prosperous family yet gave her wealth away to the poor and devoted her life to prayer. After refusing to sacrifice to idols, she was tortured and beheaded. Legend has it that after she was decapitated, she bled milk instead of blood thus the reason she is the patron of nursing mothers. Martina’s relics were found in 1634 at an ancient basilica in Rome.

Breast Feeding Accessories; Make the Life of Nursing Mothers and Newborn Care Easy
Breast feeding accessories are medical devices used by lactating mothers to store breast milk that can be used to feed the baby later. Breast pumps are widely used by mothers who have irregular milk flow. Moreover, breast feeding accessories, such as breast pads or nursing pads, are widely used by lactating mothers; placed into a nursing or a regular bra to absorb milk from leaking breasts to help prevent embarrassment. An array of breast feeding accessories make the life on nursing mothers more easy and newborn care less of a hassle. Another common factor that plays a role in breastfeeding outcomes is the health of the lactating mothers.
Breast feeding accessories allow the user to pump and store milk into storage bags or bottles for later use. Breast shells, nipple shields, nursing pads, sore nipple cream, breast milk storage bags, breast milk bottles, and other cleaning products are some of the common accessories used for breast feeding purpose. Breast feeding accessories have evolved over the years, and demand for such accessories has increased due to the increase in women employment all over the world. According to the World Bank, in 2019, women were most prominent among service workers in Japan, with around 45% of all service staff in the country being female employees.

Breastfeeding is an absolute journey. It changes in subtle ways every few months. Ugh but it’s so worth it. And I’m grateful I got to nurse Yamara for over a year! Even my husband asked me how much longer was I going to nurse Yamara. She doesn’t really “need” it . She is eating table food now all day. Believe me when she’s chomps down on me I’m ready to throw in the towel 😂 But I’m still holding unto that last session before bed as long as I can 😩 When did u stop breastfeeding your baby? Did you enjoy it? Or u got exhausted?
